Send connector in different costs

Hi,
All my exchange 2010 servers are in 1 single AD site.
It seems not working when I configured item no 2.
1. address => *, source server => hub A, cost => 1
2. address => *, source server => hub B, cost => 100
It is working if I joined Hub A & Hub B under send connector source server.  This configuration will send via HUB A or HUB B.
My objective is to send to cost 1 as 1st proity.  Any additon configurations are needed?
P/S: I was using this following for DR MBX and DR HUB
Set-MailboxServer -Id: mbxserverA-SubmissionServerOverrideList: htserverB,htserverC
Question: is it for all send and recived connectors?
Please advise.  Thanks.
Kelvin Teang

Hi,
Exchange must bind the send connector to a specific hub transport server in your Exchange organization. By default, Exchange chooses the server that you are creating the connector on, but you do have the option of specifying a different hub transport server.
To meet your requirement, you should join both Hub A and Hub B under source server.
About SubmissionServerOverrideList, Exchange Hub transport Server will be automatically load balanced within the Active Directory Site. Hub Transport Servers are load balanced in Round robin fashion within the Site. If you want to force Exchange Mailbox
server to use specific Hub Server you need to make use of SUBMISSIONSERVEROVERRIDELIST.
"Set-MailboxServer -Id: mbxserverA-SubmissionServerOverrideList: htserverB,htserverC"
The command above will set Mailbox Server mbxserverA to use htserverB and htserverC for mailsubmission.

  • Two Send Connectors

    Hi,
We have one MS-Exchange 2010 server and we have two hosted domains name it as abc.com and xyz.com (these domains are hosted at different ISPs) now i have configured SMTP connection to forwards all emails from exchange to abc.com and to forward emails from
Exchange to abc.com requires Basic Authentication so i have configured it in send connector and all abc.com users are able to send their emails to other recipients.
But the xyz.com users in our exchange server are not able to send their emails to external recipients because send connect is trying to authenticate to abc.com and mails are getting bounce. so i want to create second connector to forward xyz.com emails from
my exchange server to xyz.com domain for authentication purpose and forward it further.
In this case how exchange will recognize that xyz.com send connector is this and abc.com send connector is that ?
Please provide me some solution on this?
    Arjun V.

Create the two send connectors with different name spaces.
one should be the catch all, for all email, with the * namespace.  The other is for the specific domain  xyz.com.

  • Send connectors question

    Hi There,
we have the 2 Ad sites and each site has the exchange server 2010 sp2 (HUB.MDB,UM and CAS). i want to route the messages based on Sites via each separate send connector. I would like to know send connectors use exchange cost routing to route the messages
    Many thanks
    David

Under the send connector properties, scope it and then set the smarthost on each send connector to what you want. I assume that is what you are referring to.
Note that there is *no* native source based routing in 2010.
    If you need source-based routing:
If you want to use sender based routing in Exchange 2010, use an agent:
    http://routingruleagent.codeplex.com/
    or 3rd party software:

Scoped send connector By default, all Send connectors that you create can be used by all the Hub Transport servers in your Exchange organization. However, you can limit the scope of any Send connector so that it can be used only by other
Hub Transport servers that exist in the same Active Directory site. To limit the scope of this Send connector, select
    Scoped send connector.

  • CATS Time Entry - Charging time to a different cost center

We are looking at using CATS for time entry for our salaried non-exempt employees.  Some of these employees charge their overtime to a different cost center.  For example, normally their overtime is charged to their own cost center but periodically they help another group and need to charge the overtime to the other group's cost center.  In the CATS profile where you select the fields you want to be available for input, display, etc., I see cost center as an option.  However, when I select it as a field for input, it does not appear on the timesheet.  I see there are other cost center fields (receiver cost center, sender cost center) but I thought these had more to do with work orders (not sure of that, though) and work orders are not used for this group of people.  Currently, the time is being charged to an alternate cost center when the time administrator enters the overtime via PA30 and then selects the 'Cost assignment' button to record the appropriate cost center. I would appreciate any information/guidance you can provide.  Thank you.

    Hi Kathleen,
We are trying to do the same thing so I understand exactly what you are asking.  We made the sender cost center field an input field via the IMG - Cross-Applications Components> Time Sheet> Time Recording> Choose fields> - select data entry section and look for sender cost centre - field name CATSD-SKOSTL - ensure "input" is selected.
Eventhough we have been able to enter an alternative cost center with an attendance (i.e., different from the employee's cost center saved on IT0001), it is not being transferrred to HR (does not appear on attendance infotype) therefore payroll does not pick-up the cost center with the attendance hours and it is not posted to FI.  Payroll continues to use the employee's home cost center.
Have you been able to get any further with this issue?

  • Exchange 2007 Smarthost send connector backing up

I have seen some similar posts to this but none have had any good answers.
We route all outbound mail through an Barracuda spam/virus appliance. We are a busy college campus with roughly 2k staff banging away at our mail gateways with mass mailings to our students, homework assignments, class schedules, blah blah blah..
At no time is our outbound mail queue empty. The trouble is, is that at any given time the most "Active" delivery status messages I see in queue viewer is 6 messages. Whether there are 30 or 5000 messages stuck in there it never try's to send
more than 6 at a time.
Sometimes the queue viewer shows no "Active" connections just all "Ready's". I never see the status change to "Retry" or anything else other than "Ready" or "Active".
We often have delivery delays of 3 or 4 hours when mass mailing messages that do not exceed more than 10 to 20k.
Here is what we've tried so far:
In Powershell use: get-transportserver | fl   (to view these)
and use:  set-transportserver -ConfiguratorName  (to change the values)
    updated MaxConcurrentMailboxDeliveries to 50
    updated MaxConcurrentMailboxSubmissions to 50
    updated PickupDirectoryMaxMessagesPerMinute to 200
    MaxConnectionRatePerMinute 1200
    MaxOutboundConnections 1000
    MaxPerDomainOutboundConnections 1000
    "...MaxMessageAttachSize" 100MB (For testing only)
use: get-sendconnector | fl    to verify the value of "MaxMessageSize". Ours is set to unlimited.
use: get-transportconfig   to check all the "Max" settings in there particularly the MaxDumpsterSizePerStorageGroup setting. Ours is 125MB.
Protocol logging is set to Verbose on the send connector. There are no error messages in the send or connectivity logs. The "Microsoft MailFlow Troubleshooter" is a joke.
We have no throttling turned on at the Barracuda level, so says their tech support. I of course have no way of verifying this as I do not have access to it.
I guess my question is. Does anyone know how or where we can increase the number of "Active" messages in the queue to more than 6 messages?

You're sending all mail to a single smart host? I'd be looking at that
    machine's configuration.
    >Sometimes the queue viewer shows no "Active" connections just all "Ready's". I never see the status change to "Retry" or anything else other than "Ready" or "Active".
You have only one queue, for the smart host, right? Is there a "Last
    error" value for it?
Are there any "back-pressure" events in the server's application event
    log?

The barracuda has DOS protection. I *think* the default is to limit
the number of "parrallel connections" to 5, but that may be different
on different models. There are probably other "rate limiting"
    settings, too.

  • Allocation of cost to different cost center

    Hi Techies,
I have to allocate cost from one cost center to different cost center according to percentage (%). Company wants to show same cost on sender and then breakdown according to % on receiver cost center.
Example: Company wants to allocate cost from CCenter A to Ccenter B1, B2, B3.... according to % like 74.1% to B1, 14.8% to B2. Now which allocation functionality (Assessment, Distribution) I should use to solve this problem. I would really appreciate if you have method or process step to perform this process.
    Thank You,
    Kenny

Use transaction KSU2 to call the Assessment Cycle.
Click on "First Segment" and in the segment header, under Sender Values, select Posted Amounts and key in 100% (since you wish to assess all the costs). Under Receiver Tracing Factor, select Fixed Percentages.
Click on the "Senders/Receivers" tab. Now under "Senders", do an F4 (dropdown list) in the Cost Centres field and select your Cost Centres (or groups).
Similarly click on the Cost Elements and dropdown to select your Cost Elements or groups.
Now under Receivers, in the Cost Centre field, key in the Cost Centres you wish to post costs to.
Click the next tab Sender Values
Here, enter Share in % as 100% (default) and under version, enter 0.
Now click on the Receiver Tracing Factor tab. You should see all the Cost Centres you entered under Receivers in the Sender/Receiver tab. Enter the %s you wish to apportion to each Cost Centre.
Save this cycle and run this for the period in question. Before you run this, make sure you post some costs to the Sender Cost Centres. Else the system will find nothing to assess and come back with the same error.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers.

  • Which Send Connector is Used

    Hi,
Environment is set up as per the screenshot. Both Send Connectors have address space configured as '*' with Cost 10 and have direct access to the Internet.
I would like to know what would cause Exch2 to use the 'Send Connector 1' on Exch1 rather than 'Send Connector 2' where it is configured as the source server? This was happening when the cost of both send connectors was 10, once the cost on 'Send Connector
2' was lowered Exch2 started sending out using it's own send connector.
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Gregor,
Based on my experience, we can manually configure the "Send Connector 2" as Exch1's send connector in the source server.
Found a blog for your reference:

    Hope it is helpful

  • Exchange 2007 Send Connectors

    Hello,
I'm relatively new to administering Exchange and I had some questions on Send Connectors. We send mail to a few different domains that usually 75% of the time will generate a message saying:
Delivery is delayed to these recipients or distribution lists:
This message has not yet been delivered. Microsoft Exchange will continue to try delivering the message on your behalf.
Delivery of this message will be attempted until 1/9/2014 9:31:13 AM (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada). Microsoft Exchange will notify you if the message can't be delivered
    by that time.
Sometimes messages will make it to the intended recipients and other times not. Most of the time they are just regular emails without any attachments on them. I'm not exactly sure how connectors work, but I'm thinking that I can set one up to tell exchange
that it should route these certain emails to that domain. Is this the correct thought process on how a send connector would work and are there any ramifications I need to worry about if I set up a second or third send connector?
I apologize if this is naïve or doesn't make sense. Please let me know if you need more information. We run Exchange 2007 on Windows SBS 2008.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
It seems that it could be a reverse DNS lookup issue. I recommend you check if the reverse DNS record is configured correctly.
If it is ok, I suggest you enable logging at your send connector. Then check the log to see if you could find some clues.

  • Send connector for forwarded emails not being used by Exchange 2013

Hi we have 3 Exchange 2013 CU5 servers in a DAG setup and need to forward emails for some of the users to another domain. The problem is our outgoing spam filter seems to quarantine a lot of these emails which are  not spam. The problem is that I
created a send connector for  the domain we are forwarding to (say contonso.com for illustrative purposes). Gave the send connector the name contonso.com, selected use MX record (didn't select Use the external DNS lookup settings on servers with transport
roles) and added contonso.com in the address space gave it cost of 1. Added all the exchnage servers under source server. And clicked save. I then changed the cost to 2 on the main send connector with the domain as * which goes trhough our oput bound spam
filter yet email I  send to one of the recipients with a forward inplace still go through that connector. Can anyone tell what i'm doing wrong or explain why this wouldn't work as expected ?

Easy question, did you enable the connector? :)
Do you have more than one site in your org?

  • Send connector with smart host redirection for particular domain

    Hello,
We have quite big environment with Ex2007 CCR cluster with 2x CAS/HUB and 2x Edge servers with few accepted authoritative domains for several countries. Currently all mails from these are routed through one send connector.
We're moving to a different mail filtering service and I wanted to setup one of our domains to send through the new service to get it all setup and working correctly before moving the other domains over to it.
So i have configured dedicated new custom send connector ( in accordance with techent article: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998814%28v=exchg.80%29.aspx) for one of our domains let's say contoso.com with priority 1, and in next step i have
entered smart host ip's and at the end source servers (2x edge servers).
I have spotted that mail would still not send through my new send connector for those with email addresses with that domain. I turned on verbose logging but still all emails are not going through new connector. I checked that changes were replicated succesfully
on Edge servers and I restarted  on Cas/Hub machines "EdgeSync" service but still no luck.
Please help me did I forgot to check/change something?

Let me be sure I understand how you have your new send connector configured, so I don't give you the wrong information.  You said you configured the new send connector with the contoso.com email domain.  From how you said it, though ("one of
our domains"), it appears that email domain is one of your internal email domains.  If this is the case, this is why this send connector isn't being used - the send connector will send only to those email domains listed in the address
space tab.  If I am right, it will never send to any external recipients with an contoso.com email address - those mailboxes are internal.  If you have an external SMTP domain in that list (such as hotmail.com), you should see messages sent to recipients
on that system through this connector.
If I am not right in how I read your posting, let me know so we can figure out how to get your send connector working properly.

  • Send connector from exchange 2007

Currently since I have both environments up, I see that Exchange 2013 is using the send connector that was created in my exchange 2007 environment.  Will this send connector go away once I bring down my exchange 2007 environment? Shoould I create
a new one for Exchange 2013?

    Hi
From what i have seen running ex2010 and upgrading to 2013 it stayed (exchange 2013 is clever :-)). you can just modify your send connector and make sure that the settings are for your exchange 2013 server.

I HAD two accounts because of this problem.  I completely removed the problem account from the Apple Mail client.  Guess what is happening??  That's right - Mail is still sending from the other account that no longer exists on my computer, and I have absolutely no idea how this is happening.  This is incredibly frustrating.  When a recipient chooses to reply to my message, quite often I won't get it now because it is going to the other account that has now been deleted from my system.  COME ON APPLE!!! WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THIS???

  • How to send email to a SMTP server over a secure channel using STARTTLS setting of a send connector (Exchange and SMTP server are in the same domain)

I’m trying to send email using exchange send connector STARTTLS setting to the SMTP server. I have read multiple documents on configuring TLS for send connector, but they talks about outbound connections to internet facing servers. My Exchange 2013 and SMTP
server is in the same domain (let’s say A.com) and I’m creating dummy domains on my SMTP server (e.g.
    [email protected],
[email protected] ) and their respective send connectors on the exchange server end. In the smart host section added the IP address of the SMTP server and in the scoping section added the SMTP domain address (e.g. dummy1.local ). In the FQDN field, added
the FQDN of the exchange server 2013 which certificate is enabled with SMTP service.
Could you tell me a step by step procedure, where I’m going wrong or any extra settings needs to added?
Presently, it is giving me an error that 530 5.5.1 TLS encrypted connection is required.
Note: I’ve created the Microsoft CA certificates for the SMTP and exchange servers and imported them in the personal certificate container. In which, the exchange certificate is created with FQDN name of the server and enabled for the SMTP service.
I’m using OPENSSL certificate for making the SMTP server TLS enabled. (let me know, if I need to import the OPENSSL certificate anywhere on the exchange end)?
    Thanks!

-IgnoreSTARTTLS is set to false on the send connector properties.

  • What are the correct Send Connectors settings in Exchange 2013

    Hi
I'm new to exchange, successfully setup a lab with 2 cashub roles and 2 mailbox roles. I am trying to set the send connectors settings, because I've not been able to send nor receive external email via owa. Since I'm separating the exchange roles, my mailbox
servers only use internal IP settings and cannot resolve external DNS. I'm thinking I need to tick, proxy through CAS for it to work? any suggestions?

    Hi
Can you please let us know what version of Exchange that you are using
"I'm new to exchange, successfully setup a lab with 2 cashub roles and 2 mailbox roles"
    - Because Exchange 2013 does not hold hub role.
" I am trying to set the send connectors settings, because I've not been able to send
nor receive external email via owa."
It would be great if you could answer few questions so that people can help you out here
Are you able to send emails internally without any issues with Outlook ? If not can you paste the errors.
What error you are getting while trying to send emails through owa . Can you paste the errors.
If you are looking for steps to create new send connector please follow below technet article
