Send Diagnostic Information EVERY sync

Hi all,
I purchased an iPod Touch last week and it is great in all respects. However, every time I sync with iTunes, I get the prompt to "send diagnostic information" to Apple. I always choose "Send to Apple", but I do not check "Do not ask me again" b/c I want to know when it is sending something.
That said, the issue seems to be that the crash logs are never deleted. This causes iTunes to prompt me to send diagnostic information to apple, even when there is no new information. For example, clicking "show details" reveals crash logs from several days back, even though I have already sent them to Apple.
Is iTunes supposed to delete the logs it sends? If so, what is wrong with my iPod?
I appreciate any help you can provide (short of "buy a mac"), and thank you in advance.

The next time you get this message, click the checkbox "Do No Ask Me Again," and click the "Don't Send" button. The annoying messages should stop. The crash logs should be stored on iTunes, but it's you don't have to delete them; they might have useful information.
(I chuckled when I read your "short of 'buy a mac'" remark. But seriously, current prices are unusually competitive.)

  • I don't want to send diagnostic information to Apple...

This is quite a strange question to ask, but how do I turn off the feature which sends off diagnostic information to Apple? Apparently it slows down the speed of syncing, which in comparison to my iPod Classic, my 4G is taking AGES.
I've tried to reset warnings, but to no avail. Cheers.

  • Sending diagnostic information to apple?

Ok, I get this pop up window every now and then when syncing or checking for iphone updates? Is this common for everyone?

This is caused by an application "crashing" on your iPhone. Something like the browser closing on you unexpectedly and returning you to the home screen.
I have gotten this before, and I thought there was a check box on that pop up that said "Always do this"... so if you press do not send, it would never pop up the box again and not send anything.

  • Keep getting "Your phone contains diagnostic information" prompt

When I sync my iphone 3G I keep getting the "Do you want to send diagnostic information to Apple" prompt even though I keep checking the "Do not ask me this again" box each time.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Any way to disable this prompt? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've tried restoring several times to no avail.

I think the OP's point is that the dialog box keeps popping up. If you check the Do Not Ask Me Again tickbox, then choose either send or don't send, iTunes should remember that option an not offer the dialog box every time you connect the iPhone. Seems like iTunes is offering the choice when the OP already made the choice (regardless of which choice she actually made).

  • Sending Diagnostic Info to Apple with Every Sync

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes and deleting the diagnostic info folder but I am being constantly prompted to send diagnostic info to apple before my iPhone will sync. I've obviously checked the box that says not to ask me again but it just keeps on asking anyway. How do I stop it? It's driving me crazy and I just want to be able to pop my phone on the dock and have it sync. Please help.

The article says that I should upgrade to the latest iTunes. I am on the latest iTunes version.
If you could read just a tiny little bit further, under the "Additional Information" section immediately after that, it says:
If you are still experiencing this issue when syncing, or have not installed Xcode 4 and get this alert:
Follow the troubleshooting steps in Mac OS X v10.5, v10.6: Resetting the SyncServices folder.
If the issue is still unresolved, follow steps in Sync Services: Advanced troubleshooting for contact and calendar syncing.
    Have you tried those measures?

  • Anyone else get a "Your phone contains diagnostic information" message?

I was just syncing over a few apps I just downloaded and got this message. It send something about containing diagnostic information and asked if I wanted to send it to Apple. I was just curious if any others have had this happen.
Also, the only problems at all I've had with the phone are when I am installing an app and I'm doing other things, it will turn off the phone and it takes a few restarts to get it working again. Again, I was just curious.

Yes I get this prompt on occasion, which I send to Apple.
Sending this diagnostic info to Apple certainly can't hurt, and hopefully it will be used for improvements.

  • Diagnostic Information Popup

This is a new one on me:
At the end of playing a streaming playlist of videos, this popped up:
    DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION
Your AppleTV contains diagnostic information that may help Apple improve it's products.
By clicking 'Send to Apple' you agree that Apple may periodically collect and use this information as part of its support services and to improve its products. This information is collected anonymously. To learn more about Apple's Privacy Policy, see http://www.apple.com/legal/privacy. This message won't appear again unless you choose Reset Settings from the Settings menu.
    Send to Apple
    Don't Send
    Anyone ever seen that before?
Maybe a new feature in 3.02 to get some performance stats?

What I couldn't figure out was if this was like a crash report that sent info relating to that to Apple or if performance/other aspects are being continually monitored and reported every so often.
I hit don't send as I didn't like the thought of the unit constantly phoning home without my knowledge.
Had it listed information being sent I could have made a better decision but I suspect most consumers wouldn't want/understand any more detail.

  • ITunes 9.1 was unable to load dataclass information from Sync Services.

Everything was working perfectly fine on 9.0, then i upgraded to 9.1 version and my iPod Touch 3G stopped syncing properly (error as in subject). I tried many things, checked dll's, restarted services, everything without success. SO...
I uninstalled every single apple program and couple non applce. Deleted every Apple related file, even all those hidden in users/common files/app data folders. Double checked everything and restarted PC. THEN I downloaded full version of iTunes 9.1 64bit and installed.
Aaaand I restarted everything, lunched iTunes, plugged iPod in. Some Apple drivers installed themselves, then iTunes was frozen for couple minutes. Finally iPod shown in iTunes. I tried to sync and... BAM. Still broken, still same error "iTunes 9.1 was unable to load dataclass information from Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later"
Please help, my iPod is useless. Can u release new, working iTunes?

OK i have to say, i finally fixed it. Now its fully working without ANY problems, here is what i did (before trying this u should probably do this http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923):
    1. Unplug every external Card Reader.
    2. Unplug every Card Reader in your PC (they are plugged into motherboard)
    3. Unplug every USB Hub.
    4. Unplug every USB Drive or USB HDD.
    5. Plug in Ipod Touch/iPhone.
    6. Go to Device Manager.
    7. Search for "USB Mass Storage Device" in Universal Serial Bus Controler.
    8. Right click on it and UNINSTALL.
    9. Search for "Scan for hardware changes", click on it and wait a bit.
    10. Turn on iTunes and check if its working.
Now it should work like a charm.

  • ... unable to load dataclass information from Sync Services = Iphone Sync

" Itunes was unable to load dataclass information from Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later. " - this is the message I receive after Iphone is plugged in. Itunes is 7.7 and Iphone is 2.0 at this point, only started happening after the updates of both.
On a separate note, this same Itunes does not recognize Outlook as an option to sync from and all attempts to press Configure button yield zero result. I have a hunch that tells me the two are related ) . If any of you have had that problem, please post. The search turned up zero related posts.
    Cheers.

I'm getting the same thing. I came into the office all excited to get the 2.0 update, ran the update and now my phone is stuck on the "slide for emergency" USB/Globe screen.
When I try and load itunes and connect to the phone I get the same "itunes was unable to load dataclass information from Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later."
I've reconnected and waited and still no luck.
here's the sequence, when opening itunes with the phone connected:
Open iTunes, it waits for a while trying to connect to the iTunes store, then it comes back and says "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection has timed out."
I know my network connection is fine. The iTunes diagnostic even says so.
I click Ok there and get the iPhone listed in the left index thing, but all I get in the body is a big "iPhone"
Then it gives another "Accessing iTunes Store" status and the same "we could not complete..."
    help, please?

  • ITunes was unable to load data class information from Sync Services.  Reconnect or try again later AND Your iPhone has never been backed up to this computer AND always Not Responding

First: I get the message telling me that "iTunes was unable to load data class information from Sync Services.  Reconnect or try again later."
Second: In the Summary Tab under Backups, iTunes is telling me that my iPhone has never been backed up to my computer - which is not true. It's also telling me that my iPhone has never been backed up to iCloud. Again, not true. Although my backups are all missing from iTunes, I can see what I think is them in their folder: C:\Users\*your user name here*\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync.
Third: iTunes is SLOOOOOOOOW. It takes nearly ten minutes - sometimes more - to launch, and when it does, it's constantly not responding. It seems every time I touch something it stops responding.
Fourth: I've been searching this "help" forum for a solution, and I've seen many other references, yet the only suggestion I've seen from someone from Apple is a reference to a solution that is over 2 years old - and DOESN'T WORK for anyone I can see who's tried it!
I've tried everything I could think of, and that others have suggested, including:
    Uninstalling and re-installing iTunes
Ensuring I have the latest version of iTunes
    Re-setting sync history
Renaming my Backup folder at the path above, and letting iTunes create a new one
Running around the house whilst pulling my hair and yelling obscenities
    None helped. At all.
Hmmm... Been a devoted Apple/iOS guy for years, but maybe it's time to switch to Android?

I've resolved the issue with iTunes constantly not responding. It's a bit embarrassing. I had a DVD in the drive that was corrupt, and once I was able to remove it - BAM - iTunes ran perfectly.
I'm still getting the Sync Services message, and my backups are still not showing in iTunes.
    Getting there.... I hope!

  • ITunes was unable to load dataclass information from Sync Services. Reconne

I'm getting the following error on iTunes 8 when quitting:
"iTunes was unable to load dataclass information from Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later."
    Anyone else seeing this?
    Don

I started getting the annoying “iTunes was unable to load dataclass information from Sync Services. Reconnect or try again later.” error when i installed iPhone 3.0 beta onto my 1G iPhone. I have uninstalled iTunes (version 8.1), uninstalled Apple’s Mobile Device Support and reinstalled both of them but that did not fix the problem. I have also installed an older version of iTunes but that did not help as well. The error is not just annoying, i was not able to restore from my iPhone backups. I made a mistake in getting iPhone 3.0 beta onto my iPhone and instead of “update”, i chose “restore”. That wiped out all the App Store applications that i had installed. I could easily re-install the applications but there was no way for me to restore the saved data for some of the apps like eWallet and Gas Cubby. Until iPhone 3.0 beta is jailbroken, restoring a backup is the only way that i am aware of that can restore the app data.
From the Console log, i noticed these errors were generated whenever an iPhone is connected to my Mac Pro:

So i decided to get rid of everything in /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework and re-installed Apple Mobile Device Support. Voila, that worked!

  • "iTunes was unable to load class data information from sync services"

I own iTunes 10.5 beta 3 64-bit for my 64-bit windows 7 pc, and it gives me this message whenever I try to sync ANY of my devices: "iTunes was unable to load class data information from Sync Services". I own an old iPod video and an iPhone 4 with iOS 5 beta 3. I've tried uninstalling all Apple products, searching through my hard drive and deleting everything Apple, cleaning the registry, EVERYTHING. I've reinstalled at least 4 times now. The problem refuses to become fixed. I've searched every article online possible, and none of the solutions have worked. Is there anything I can do to get my stuff back on to my devices???

In the course of your troubleshooting to date, have you worked through the following document?

  • Keep hp 6700 in good shape: automatic print quality diagnostic page every week?

    Hi all,
I've recently bought the HP Officejet 6700 Premium, and I'm concerned about keeping it in good condition, since I had to replace my previous canon printer because of a stuck printhead (the photo black one, I didn't used it for a long time).
Since I don't print much (but I'm using the ADF scanner a lot), and other family members prints sporadically, most of the time in black and white, I would like to setup an the printer to automatically print a diagnostic page every week to make sure everything is alright.
Using eprint, IFTTT and google calendar I could automatically send a file to print (I already set up the printer to wake up a few minutes before the calendar event) with black and color bars (someone suggest to print the google homepage since it has many colors but uses little ink).
Is there any chance I can directly print the print quality diagnostic page (so I can fully diagnose a problem if it occurs)?
    Thanks for the attention
    Cheers from Italy!

    Hey,
To clarify for you and answer your new questions on the printers self maintenance.
The maintenance cycle occurs randomly. It will occur after any power up, after print jobs(not every one) and any time it "think's" printhead health is poor. As mentioned above the printer to does have to be powered on for this to occur.
You can if you'd like still print off the odd test page just to check, once a month would be adaquet.
If you want to be saving power and are turning it off, then you would want it to be at least powering on and running the automated service that occurs weekly.
I hope this clarifies everything for you. Thanks for your posts.
