Send Email alerts befor expiration date on list......

Other than using SharePoint Designer or creating a workflow what other ways can be used to notify us  (by email) say, 2 weeks, before the expiration date column in a list record is hit?
TIA,
edm2

Hi romeo,
You can try to use timer job as suggested above, and set the timer job to run at specific time duration. in the timer job logic, check the expiration time in the list item field, and do your operation. Please get better understanding about timer job first,
you will get to know how to do this.
Thanks,

  • My ical calender does not send email alerts anymore, now what?

The alerts are configured correctly, if I look at the alert it says that an email will be send (for ex. 09.00 the day before). However when the moment comes, the email does not. Can anyone help me with this one. This is the case since the upgrade to Mavericks.

Hi Patrick, I have the same problem as does everybdy else I guess - it just wont work!
I have set My Card in address book, tested it 100 times and whatever you do it ill not send an email alert? Everything I see on forums blah blahs about setting my card in address book and hey presto but none of it helps.
Someone MUST know if it will ever work or if it is another issues that apple will never resolve, instead they will just ruin a perfectly nice looking operating system by updating it and making my phone icons and notes / bookshelf etc look like it was bought from Toys R Us instead of an Apple store!
Did you find a solution to iCal not sending email alerts? DAVID.

  • Getting backup battery to send email alerts....?

Hello! I've got an APC RS1500 UPS hooked up to my Mac Mini server running 10.6.
Obviously, I've already used System Preferences to configure how we want the battery to manage the power to the machine in the event of an outage. But since APC's PowerChute software (which, from what I understand, used to have the ability to send email alerts in such a case) only works up until about 10.4 until they started implementing the native support we have "lost" the ability for the server to send out an email alert whenever should there be a power issue.
So far, I've found no native way to do this within OSX and the APC software that used to do this for you is no longer supported on 10.5 or 10.6.....how can we do this?
I'm looking for something, anything, really to just get the server to send me an email should the power go down. Terminal command, Automator workflow, AppleScript, third party software....whatever.
    Just....something?
Surely there are other people out there running Mac servers on a battery backup with some kind of notification system in place?
    Thanks in advance.

Pingdom does what you are asking for.  It detects the web server outage.  It sends email, SMS or a tweets.  And it's a free service.
If you're working on an internal server of some sort (or otherwise outside of what pingdom can reach), then this is going to involve a quick script, or some add-on software.
If you're working on the script, do you have a local mail server running on this box?  (That'll make sending mail easier.)
And do you want to know about every outage, or do you want notifications when the shutdown happens?  (If it's the latter that you're after, then you can send mail from the shutdown script.)
Some of the more capable and less-interruptible power supplies have notification capabilities.  (eg: APC less-interruptible power supplies with the APC Web/SNMP card.)
The apcupsd tool might be of interest, too.  Whether that update works on Mountain Lion, I don't know.

  • Send Email & Save and Display Data

I've got a simple process with a Set Value and Assign User activities and one variable to read the contents of an XDP form. The assigned user the reviews the form. This much I know works.
From this point on, I am adding to routes to the last task: the reviewer may accept or reject the form. If it is accepted, I want the form to be saved in PDF form and displayed for the user to read and type some of that data somewhere else (I may automate this at another time). If it is rejected, I want Workspace to send an email to the process creator (the person who filled out the form--not the reviewer) indicating that there are errors or omissions to correct. Then, the form is reassigned to the process creator, who works on it and resubmits it for review.
    My questions are as follows:
1- I'm thinking of using a Send Email service to send a short, very specific message, but I don't know how to capture the process creator's email address to use in this service. Would you any other way of doing this?
2- I can't figure out what service to use to save the PDF and to display it for the reviewer to copy data manually into another application.
I'm still new at this and find the available information a little cryptic. I probably don't know where to find it too. I'd appreciate any help that you can provide.
    Thank you!

We are using JBoss but MSSQL, not MySQL.
I also decided to change the process slightly to avoid unnecessary steps and, perhaps, this query step altogether.
So this is what I have so far: A Set Value task to fill the form, and an Assign User to assign the form for review. Upon acceptance by the Reviewer, the form should be saved and/or printed, as selected by the Reviewer. Upon reject, it should be reassigned to the Process Creator for correction/completion. When this is done, the form should be resubmitted for review.
The form is filled, but the Reviewer gets nothing in his queue (To Do list), even thought he's assigned in the process. The email notifications are not working correctly yet, but it should still be assigned to the Reviewer, correct? He's the Specific User in the Initial User Selection property.
I'd appreciate any help that you can provide.
    Thanks!

  • Can not use Cisco VMS 2.3 to send email alert to admin

    Hi all,
    I am using IDSM version 5 + Catalyst 6513.
I am going to configure for Cisco VMS 2.3 to send alert email to admin. I downloaded scritp from cisco forum but now I can't configure.
    1. I rename the file emailalertv5.txt to emailalertv5.pl
    2. I copy the file to directory "E:\CSCOpx\MDC\etc\ids\scripts\"
    3. I configure in Cisco VMS 2.3 (like the attachment)
However, I can't receive the alert email from Cisco VMS 2.3. When I connect to Security Monitor, I see many attack events.

    Hi all,
if you know the answer, please answer me. I am looking for your answer.
I read all materials about IDSM-2 but I can't configure email alert.
    Thank you very much.

  • Send email based on the date

    Hi,
Does any one know how to send emails automatically based on a date. For example in the database we have birth days of all employees. All the employee details are being maintained using a JSF web application. An email has to be sent as birthday reminder. If any one has any ideas as to how to accomplish this from a webapplication or database please let me know.
    Thanks a lot,
    HeMan

If U are usingOracle db, then there is a plsql package called ut_mail. It has a procedure that sends emails :
    utl_mail.send(sender => 'myName',
    recipients => '[email protected]',
    subject => myTopic',
    message => 'myMessage',
mime_type=>'text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-2'); If U want to do it in java, write application and use JavaMail.

  • Script to monitor database and send email alerts

    Dear Gurus,
We have databases running on WIN2000 server. Can anyone provide me with a script (VBScript) or a batch file script which can check the database status and send an email alert depending upon the status of the database. Thanks in advance for the help!!

    Hi,
I don't think this is the right forum for this.
The Oracle Scheduler can certainly schedule such a script to run regularly but the issue of creating such a script is more to do with general database maintenance. It seems as though a web search should reveal some similar scripts that can be used as a base.
    Thanks,
    Ravi.

  • ASA cannot send email alerts

    Hello,
I configured ASA to send email notifications. My exchange server is at the same network as the inside interface of ASA but I do not receive any email alerts. I set it to receive informational email in order to receive something to see if it is working, but nothing.
Should I put a static route or something in my mail server?
The sender email has to be configured somehow to send emails to asa?

Apologies if you have done this, but just to double check...........
Did you configure your exchange server to allow the ASA to send emails via exchange? did you configure the ASA to send emails to the SMTP relay of exchange?

  • How to send email alerts to others instead of only to yourself?

Where I work, we seem to have a problem with setting (email) alerts for upcoming events for others in the company besides yourself. We have one shared agenda, where we can all put events in. When I want to make an alert - a message or email alert - I can only choose my own emailaddress. Is it possible to send an alert to more users besides yourself?
    Please help!
