Send email, stuck in outbox

I created a simple, 2 step workflow. Saved as application. It's a simple mass email to a group that says "I've updated my blog." When I click the app, it parks the message in the outbox and does not send it. Any ideas?

Hi brett,
I've tried the same thing and it works great. I use Apple Mail.
The workflow has two steps, the first being "New Mail Message" which creates the message with the group in Bcc (mine has only one addressee), Subject and text in the body of the message is also populated. The account option was set to Default. The second step is "Send Outgoing Messages" into which the former is passed. Saved it as an Application.
Double clicked the App and it generates and sends the message.
The symptom that the message is being parked in the Outbox is suggesting that it is possible that your issue could be account related.

Exchange 2013 issues - (new send email Stuck in Drafts folder not send)

I am also having this issue.
server 2012 VM with exchange 2013. plenty of resources, more than recommended so cannot be a BAck Pressure issue especially as no clients are connected yet.
In the early stages of setup and testing, mail sent to other mailboxes worked fine in outlook 2007 and OWA but after a few issue that developed and are now resolved, any e-mail send within outlook or OWA just goes straight into the drafts folder.
I tried, DNS setting changes under roles, on the server, on DNS server, MX DNS records, increased resources, looked at received connectors, changed and even deleted send connectors as this is not required for internal mail. Tried changing authentication
types but then outlook won't connect to, staying with Basic Auth.
Have not been able to test inbound e-mail as this is going to replace a production server and is not ready, although I could probably simulate a route from another server and push e-mail to it. Will try tomorrow.
I have spent about 20 hours trying to figure this out and made probably 40 changes. Change, test, rollback etc. Been searching through loads of forums and technet sites all with no help.
All services are started, server has been rebooted several times.
It is also an AD server and has both Exchange roles installed. There is no reason why it should not work. This is so frustrating, we don't have these issues with the now end of life Scalix, or MDaemon or Zimbra. Pity the client wanted a Microsoft solution.
To be honest there are not a lot of things that cannot be changed in ECP although there is more under exchange powershell however I am not familiar with all the commands yet. I have resorted to watching training videos even though I am a seasoned IT Pro, although
not so much with exchange it seems.
I have seen many people have this issue on Exchange 2007, 2010 and 2013. Someone must know how to resolve this or find a work around?
So far I have an expensive solution the client has purchased that I cannot get running properly.
Aside from this issue, I really like the new Server 2012 and new Hyper-V.
I was about to install Exchange Server 2013 on a physical machine due to this f#ckin' issue. But a post for the DNS change has saved my life:

  • Cant send emails stuck in my outbox?

Hi, have read just about every query and reply regarding messages stuck in outbox, and have tried just about every suggestion and tip going, but my mail still sits there stubbornly refusing to go.
I tried rebooting; I tried refreshing; I tried going into settings and verifying the email account; I tried re-entering the default account; I tried closing the app and restarting it; I tried double pressing the home button; you name it I tried it, but nothing works. Those emails are just sitting there refusing to budge.  I am at my wits end!
Please can somebody give me some more things to try?!  Thank you.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts   Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

I've a problem on Microsoft outlook 2010 with service pack 2.
Sometime it cannot send out email, the email will stuck at outbox.  It only work after you restart the outlook and resend.
I've add the 2 email account into this Outlook profiles and running at Windows 7 professional Operating system.
I've try run the Outlook into safe mode, but it can't solve the problem too.
I also create a new email profile and user profile, but still cannot solve the problem.
    Please help,
    Thank you,
    Wcnw

Can you please check onto the Exchange server, the Outbox folder size and Items in it. Use the below command to verify the Outbox folder.
    Get-MailboxFolderStatistics -Identity <Alias> -FolderScope Outbox
Look out for ItemsInFolder and FolderSize. If it displays content in it, you would need to remove the emails from the Outbox Folder. The Outbox folder can be accessed from the OWA light version.

  • UCCX 8 agent Email stuck in outbox

    Hi,
I have UCCX 8 version 8.0.2.1100 new installation.  The UCCX 8 can't send emails trough Exchange 2007. When you login to windows PC with the same credentials used by UCCX  and open outlook you can see all messages stuck in the outbox. This happens to auto responses and email responses send from agents.
I have UCCX 7 with different login to this same Exchange server setup identically that works correctly.
Thanks for any help and suggestions ,
    Robert

I did get this resolved. The Exchange Connector properties had to be adjusted
Under the Authentication Tab only "Basic Authentication" had to be selected.
See the 2 attached screen shots of my settings.
    Hope this helps.

  • ICloud outgoing email stuck in outbox

I have a 32 GB, WiFi-only, iPad 2.  I have multiple email accounts on the iPad, but lately my iCloud email account refuses to send emails.  The email messages essentially get stuck in the outbox.  The pinwheel spins for a time before a red exclamation point shows up.  When I click on the exclamation point, I receive a message indicating "the connection to the outgoing server 'p05-smtp.mail.me.com' failed.  Additional outgoing mail servers can be configured in Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars."  None of the other accounts on my iPad experience this problem.  Meaning, I can send and retrieve messages from the other accounts without fail.  Plus, my iCloud account receives email messages just fine.  The problem only seems to relate to messages that I send via my iCloud account.  I've seen a few posts about this problem on this and other sites, but none seem to identify a solution to this issue.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There are lot of possible causes for this, the easiest thing to check however is to run Outlook in safe mode for a while and see if you can reproduce the issue. To launch Outlook in safe mode, either hold the CTRL key while pressing on the icon, or type
"Outlook /safe" in the run box.
Here's an article listing other common causes:

  • Emails stuck in Outbox, which remains on-screen even if emails deleted

Dear All, outgoing emails are getting stuck in the Outbox, which has happened before, but only temporarily. Previously this has cleared by clicking Try Later then relaunching Mail, or Restarting the computer, or by deleting the emails then relaunching/restarting. However, this time, instead of disappearing once the emails in it have been deleted, the Outbox is remaining on-screen (empty), even after relaunching/restarting. The usual alert appeared "Cannot send message using the server smtp.bluyonder.co.uk", yet testing with Connection Doctor confirms server for all accounts contacted successfully. I've also tried Rebuilding the Mailbox, but that completed succesfully with no rogue emails identified. I don't have a connection with any alternative server available (this is a cable internet connection). The Apple website does not offer any solution. Has anyone else had this problem?
I'm using OSX version 10.6.8 and the Mail programme  Version 4.6 (1085)

I regulalry experience the same problem.
First time I try to send an email using my ISP, it gets stuck in the Outbox. From there, I open the email and try to send it again with no effect. Eventually (afetr a few minutes), Mail would show a new window with a message that the email could not be sent with the chosen SMTP server. It would offer several options, including trying again with the same server. Finally, after trying again with the SAME server, Mail would send it and the Outbox disappears.
This happens pratically every time I start Mail.app. Very annoying and unprofessional, because in the end it always turns out that I sent several copies of the same email.

  • Outlook 2013 sending replies stuck in outbox problems

I have Outlook 2013 with a maddening problem! Please keep in mind that any solutions you may have should be answered so that
mildly tech savvy such as myself can understand. The problem mostly happens when I'm replying to an email but sometimes with a fresh email. When I hit send the email just stays stuck in my outbox and I get an error message 0x800ccc0F.
I'll open up the stuck email and hit send again and nothing still stays stuck. I spent a long time chatting with MS tech support and he had me uncheck/disable all of my add ins and all my emails sent! Great! Next day without making any changes I was  back
to the same problem, then later they would send fine, a day later same problem - you get the picture for the last few weeks. Rechecking and unchecking the add-ins or restarting outlook or my computer sometimes helps but the problem persists. One interesting
note while on tech support I was replying to my own test emails to myself and they were staying stuck in my outbox, but also showing up in my inbox and not showing up in my sent mail folder -WTH??? Lastly I use Go-daddy SMTP email and did tech support
with them to check all of my outgoing settings and even tried some alternate settings which made no difference. Please help as I use Outlook for work all day and have spent countless hours trying to figure this out.

    Hi,
Please use your webmail to check whether the email stuck in your Outbox or Draft folder. If the issue only happens in Outlook, please disable all anti-spam or any related mail programs to have a try. Also try to create a new Outlook profile:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/829918/en-us
If it doesn't work, please change a computer to configure your email account in Outlook to check whether the issue persists.

  • Sending mail "Stuck" in Outbox??

I have mail that is not being sent to valid email addresses. They are still in my outbox.
    3 Questions:
    1) How do I force mail to be resent from the outbox?
    2) If there are 3 messages in cue & message #1 has an invalid email address will it prevent messages numbers 2 & 3 from being sent?
    3) If I put 10 correct email addresses in a recipient list and one address is incorrect, will the mail be sent to the 9 correctly typed email address and alert me that one address was unavailable or will the one incorrect address prevent the email from going out?
    Thanks in advance!

    > 1) How do I force mail to be resent from the outbox?
By fixing the problem that prevents it from being sent. There is no way to answer that with the information you’ve provided. What’s the problem exactly? What error messages do you get, if any? Are this mail account and the associated outgoing (SMTP) server provided by your ISP or by someone else?
    > 2) If there are 3 messages in cue & message #1 has an invalid email
address will it prevent messages numbers 2 & 3 from being sent?
AFAIK, a message stuck in Outbox doesn’t prevent other messages from being sent. The reason why the message stuck in Outbox couldn’t be sent is irrelevant — unless it’s the same reason the other messages cannot be sent either, of course.
    3) If I put 10 correct email addresses in a recipient list and one address
is incorrect, will the mail be sent to the 9 correctly typed email address
and alert me that one address was unavailable or will the one incorrect
address prevent the email from going out?
The message will be either sent to all recipients or not sent at all. Whether all the recipients receive it is another story. If Mail puts the message in Sent, that means the outgoing server told Mail that the message would be delivered (to all recipients). If the message remains in Outbox, the message wasn’t sent to any of them.

  • Email stuck in outbox if sending mail from a shared mailbox

    Hi,
Some user mailboxes have recently been migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010.  Shared mailboxes are located on Exchange 2003 still for the time being.
Some users have send as permissions to a shared mailbox.  In Outlook the users are logged in as themselves and using the from field send an email from the shared mailbox.
The email is sent and delivered to its recipient.
The email is however stuck in the outbox of the users mailbox.
I have tried recreating the Outlook profile, windows profile and using a different PC, but the mails still get stuck in the outbox.
If outlook is changed to use cached mode then the emails are delivered.  We don't want customers using cached mode though.
If I migrate the shared mailbox to Exchange 2003 I still have the problem.
If I migrate the users mailbox to Exchange 2003 then the problem goes away.
On the Laptop I am testing this on it is Windows 7, Office 2003.  I have also tested on another computer with Windows 7 and Outlook 2007. Outlook safe mode doesn;t help or turning off windows firewall.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue?
    Regards
    Matt

    Hi,
Based on your description, I found this kb below:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2703723/en-us
This problem occurs when all the following conditions are true:
Your Outlook profile is configured in online mode (not cached Exchange mode).
You have the DelegateSentItemsStyle registry value set to 1.
There is no resolution to this problem other than to either switch your profile to cached Exchange mode or set the DelegateSentItemsStyle registry value to zero (0).
Note If you set DelegateSentItemsStyle=0 in the registry, email messages that you send from a shared mailbox will be copied to
your Sent Items folder and not the Sent Items folder of the shared mailbox.
    Important
This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you follow these steps carefully. For added protection, back up the
registry before you modify it. Then, you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry,
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Back-up-the-registry
    1.Exit Outlook.
    2.Start Registry Editor.
Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search
box, and then press Enter. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click
    Allow.
3.Locate and then select the following registry key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\x.0\Outlook\Preferences
(Note In this key path, the placeholder x.0represents 15.0 for Outlook 2013, 14.0 for Outlook 2010, 12.0 for Outlook 2007, and
    11.0 for Outlook 2003.)
    4.Select the DelegateSentItemsStyle value.
5.On the Edit menu, click Modify.
6.Type 0, and then click OK.
    7.Exit Registry Editor.
    8.Start Outlook.

  • Email stuck in Outbox when sending to multiple recipients.

I am using Outlook 2010.  When I forward an email to multiple recipients it gets stuck in the Outbox.  I have reduced the number of recipients and the same email will sale on through.  I am getting an error code 0X8DE00006 and MS disavows
any knowledge of it.  Is there a cure or do I have to send the forward email several times to small groups?

    Hi,
From your description, I recommend you check if you limit the number of recipients you can have on an email.
If yes, please increase the value and check the result.
    Hope it helps.
