• Sending IDOC information in the XML format on the application server

Hello All,
We have a requirement like, while creating a billing document, an IDOC should be generated and the XML file should be created for that data in IDOC and that XML file would be sent to further via XI.
For this purpose, we have created
1. Logical Sender Receiver Systems We are sending the data from DL3 system 100 client to DL3 800 client
2. Assigned the clients to the logical system.
3. Created the distribution model with the message type INVOIC.
4. Created the partner profiles.
5. Created an XML port in transaction WE21, in which the application server file path is mentioned on which the xml file would be generated and the function module is provided which will only generate the file name is mentioned. In the outbound trigger tab the RFC destination is mentioned which is of type TCP/IP LOCAL_EXEC
6. In transaction WE20, for the 100 logical system added the message type INVOIC as a outbound parameter and same for the 800 client. The receiver port is mentioned as XML port which we have created.
Now, when we create the billing document via VF01 transaction, we give the transmission medium as ALE in the output. Hence the IDOC gets generated. The XML file also gets generated but the contents of the file are ONLY control records of the IDOC.
And not the data record and the status records.
The IDOC, if we see in WE02 displayes all the data in control , data and status records.
We want the control, Data and Status records of the IDOC to be populated in the XML file.
Please suggest if any extra configuration is required in this case. We are working on SAP 4.6.
Thanks in advance for your answers.
Regards,
Anuja

Hi Rob,
Ya ,i will take care your suggestion from next time..
Yes, we have downloaded the file using transaction CG3Y and opned it with IE as suggested by you. Howerver the contents are still seems to be control record.
For your reference putting the contents of the file.
<INVOIC01><IDOC BEGIN="1"><EDI_DC40 SEGMENT="1"><TABNAM>EDI_DC40</TABNAM><MANDT>100</MANDT><DOCNUM>0000000000227012</DOCNUM><DOCREL>46C</DOCREL><STATUS>30</STATUS><DIRECT>1</DIRECT><OUTMOD>2</OUTMOD><IDOCTYP>INVOIC01</IDO
Please advice.
Thanks.

• Receive idocs from SAP in XML format

Hi everyone.
Currently, to receive idocs, what we're doing is, we create an external RFC server, and listen to invocations of the RFC IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS and IDOC_PROCESS_INBOUND. However, this leads us to receive idocs in EDI_DD/EDI_DD40 and EDI_DC/EDI_DC40 formats.
Is it possible to receive idocs in XML format via the RFC Server interface?
Thanks,
Mustansir

• Send idocs to SAP in SAP's XML format

Hi!
currently we are sending idocs to SAP using the RFC IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS. this requires us to break up the data so that we can populate rows in the EDI_DC40 and EDI_DD40 table.
Is it possible, via a RFC call, (or rather, via some programmatic interface if via RFC is not possible) to send idocs to SAP in XML format?
Thanks,
Mustansir

Hi Satish,
Thanks for the reply. Do I need to do event driven message processsing in XI for this? The other way is to schedule the RBDAPP01 in R/3 to post idocs in sequence based on the message type and Partner number
Does this makes sense?
And any idea bout the second question for roll back?
Thanks

• Socket sending xml format

Hi Guys,
I have here this scenario....
I'm listening into a socket and there will be a client that will send string that is in xml format... I'm just confused with xml parsing and with the data that i'm going to receive. Is it the same getting a string and xml?
And for the string (xml format)... how am i going to parse it?

On the client side:
String xml = ....... // Populate as needed
DataOutputStream dataOut = new DataOutputStream(socket.getOutputStream());
dataOut.writeInt(xml.length());
dataOut.writeString(xml);
dataOut.flush();
On the server side:
DataInputStream dataIn = new DataInputStream(socket.getInputStream());
int length = dataIn.readInt();
byte[] buffer = new byte[length];
dataIn.readFully(buffer);
String xml = new String(buffer);

• Send IDOCs to R3

Hi all.
I am investigating a solution how to remotely send IDOCs to R3 with JCO. Does anyone have a working example which could be passed to this forum?
My IDOCs are in XML format, so I prefere a way of sending XMLs.
I found a moudule but a call attempt ends with:
The function module "IDOC_INBOUND_XML_VIA_HTTP" not released for 'remote' calls. I tried IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS.
If there is no way how to send XML format IDOCs, it is acceptable to send also in TXT format with some workarounds in my programs.
I think there has to be someone being able to do this job.
Thanks in advance.
GG

yes it is possible to send idoc's from R3 to XI using qRFC
That includes two processes
1.Registering the queue and queuing the idoc's in (outbound )sender side.
2.Registering the queue and processing them in receiver side(inbound)
check the following link for config in XI side:
/people/sap.user72/blog/2005/01/28/setting-up-inbound-qrfc-queues-for-serializing-idocs-using-the-idoc-adapter
and for QRFC details

• How to send IDOC from nonSAP to SAP

Hi ;
I need to send IDOC from nonSAP to SAP. I have experience it with XI and BC..but now I need sending IDOC to SAP directl without these tools..
Can you explain it via sample? (I know already how to create port , define LP from we20,we21 ).
Firstly Do I need to create a RFC destination ? and I want to send IDOC as XML by HTML post method..Which port must I send?
Must this port point to this RFC?
Thanks.

Hi,
Here you have to generate an IDOC and convert into XML format and put at required server
third party will accept the IDOC XML not the IDOC.
Just check with ur third party in which format the data is accepted.
if its IDOC XML then u can use the file receiver adapter and place the IDOC XML file on 3rd party folder.
You use the IDoc adapter to have IDocs (intermediate documents) processed by the Integration Engine. IDocs from SAP systems Release 3.1x or higher are supported. You can also use the IDoc adapter to connect non-SAP systems to the Integration Engine.
The IDoc adapter converts the IDocs to IDoc XML format so that they can be processed by the Integration Server pipeline.
You can also transfer XML in IDoc format received from the Integration Server to connected systems. The Integration Server pipeline must convert the received XML to IDoc XML, and then transfer this IDoc XML to the IDoc adapter. The IDoc adapter converts the IDoc XML to native IDoc format and sends the IDoc to the identified receiver system using the standard IDoc interface.

• Send idocs to SAP synchronously

Hello.
Currently we are sending idocs to SAP using the RFC IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS. However, this is an asynchronous call - as in we need to create a TID, and use the sdk api RfcIndirectCallEx() to execute this RFC, which will execute it asynchronously. Is there any way to send idocs to SAP synchronously? I looked at IDOC_INBOUND_SYNCHRONOUS, but this RFC takes parameters of type EDI_DD and EDI_DC (i.e., idoc Version 2 parameters), and not EDI_DC40/EDI_DD40. Is there any way to send idocs synchronously in version 3 format?
Thanks,
Mustansir

Hi,
Partner profile should be defined explicitely in the SAP system.
Steps to create partner profile.
Create a Partner profile(TSTCLNT000) in we20 transation with required information :
Inbound parameters : MATMAS.
Double click on message type to define other parameters:
Define Partner type as 'LS'.
These settings will solve the problem.

• How can I convert IDoc in XML format w/DTD into a string?

I want to send by e-mail outbound IDoc in XML format with its document type definition (DTD).
I want to be able to get the same output result into a string than the XML file IDoc port type with DTD activated. I have created a FM (based on SAP "OWN_FUNCTION") assigned to an IDoc port of type ABAP-PI that executes the following processing steps:
1-Extract outbound IDoc information to get the sender & recipient mail addresses (EDP13 / EDIPHONE tables).
2-Convert & Transform IDoc data into XML string using FM IDX_IDOC_TO_XML.
3-Prepare and send e-mail with XML attachement using FM SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1.
I cand generate the e-mail with the XML file attachement but FM IDX_IDOC_TO_XML does not convert the IDoc with proper formating and DTD.
What should I use to accomplish the IDoc conversion to XML w/DTD into a string?
Should I use XSLT tools ?
How does that work?
Thank you

Use decimal string to number
Specifically, you can define a constant with a different datatype on the input on the lower left if you need a different datatype (e.g. U8, I64, DBL, etc) Are all your values integers or do you also need to scan fractional numbers? In this case, you should use "fract/exp string to number" instead.

• IDOC  to XML format

Hi all,
i have created one program where if u will press the push button, it will create one idoc by taking some fields from my program.
i need to send this idoc to one directory in sap application server as a XML file.
here, while creating partner profile,
when sender = xlg100 ( this logical system is w.r.t client 100)
receiver = mes ( this logical system is w.r .t destination directory)
message type = zloipro01
but while sender = mes
receiver = xlg100,
what message type i should give here?
can anyone give me any real time documents for idoc to send as xml format?
or anyone can explain step by step procedure for this process?
right answers will be awarded.!!!!!!!!
Thanks
pabi

you need to use the XML port for converting IDOCs to XML format and all other steps remain as usual.

Hi Mahesh,
Thanks for your reply.
My requirement is bit different. i have to send Open PR data for diffrent materials. In a 3rd party application user will search for few materials which will generate a report that will show the PR related data for those material.
That means for few selected materials there will be few PR's which may be open, i have to show those in my report.
Eg: material A, B. are in PR 00001 & material B, C in PR 00002.
After selecting materials A to C report will show
Material PR No Item No Quantity
A                           00001                    10                             1
B                           00001                     20                            3
B                           00002                     10                            3
C                           00002                      10                           1
Same thing i have to do for open PO & open Sales order also.
Can u please help me to provide the solution how can i proceed for it. U have given the Message type & a bapi how it will help in my issue?
I got a suggesion from someone that extend message type matmas for PR, PO, SD related data & send the idoc. but i am confused how to pass that much data ina single IDOC.
