"Send mail as" function in Apple Mail?

Hi all,
Does anyone know if Apple Mail has a "send mail as" function? Gmail has this so that you can sent up your gmail account to "send mail as" a different address than your gmail account. (This is great for cases like if you have a university alumni email address that is actually an alias that just forwards mail to another address -- if you set it up to forward to a gmail account, you can then set the gmail account to "send mail as" that address -- so when people receive mail from you, it looks like it was sent from [email protected] instead of [email protected] or whatever.)
Anyway, I use gmail but I use my Apple Mail client to check it (using the POP feature), and the "send mail as" function on gmail only works if you sent mail through the web-based gmail. Does anyone know if there's a way to set this up in Apple Mail so that it will say the message is from my alias address intead of my gmail address?

Back in December, in another Topic, it was explained to you how to search Mail Help to answer this very question. I just tested that method of managing alias addresses, other than those for a .mac, with my Gmail account, and it works.
Search Mail Help with the search argument of "Using email aliases in Mail". You can also search in Support with the same search argument, and find the same article. In both cases, there exhibits to make it clearer that describing only with text, here.

Cannot get or send mail using Apple Mail on iPhone and iPad

Everyone in my household cannot get or send mail on their Apple Mail for iPad and iPhone. We all get the same message: "The user name or password for [account] is incorrect." This just started happening yesterday afternoon. No problems before that. I called my hosting company and Apple, and both blamed the other. My Apple system is always updated, so I have the latest version of Maverick. Had no problems with it up until now.
However, I awoke this morning to find downloaded emails in the same program, but when I go to "get mail," it says the same thing, and still won't allow me to send or receive.
Here's the kicker. I also use Gmail with the exact same accounts (yes, I need both since Apple Mail does things that Gmail doesn't, and vice versa). No problem! I get all my emails and can send with no problem. So, my hosting company claims it can't be them (makes sense). It only happens using Apple Mail, and I have several email addresses. None of them work (other than the strange phenomena of suddenly getting some of them downloaded for no apparent reason).
What do I do from here? I've changed passwords, deleted and tried to set up my emails, only to get the message that they probably will not work. And they don't. I have shut down and restarted my iPad and iPhone, to no avail.
Thank god for my Gmail account, or my business would be closed.
Again, this is happening on four devices in my home: 2 iPads and 2 iPhones.

I have a comcast account I use on my phone and use it for receiving and sending mail. When you look at the account in settings, you need to check each of these
incoming mail server: mail.comcast.net
username: the part of your email address before the @
password: your password
outgoing mail server: smtp.comcast.net
Under Advanced
Use SSL: On
Authentication: Password
Server Port: 995
If you cannot make it work from changing settings in the account, delete the account and start over. Use the "Other" setting when starting the account. It is a POP3 account and make the entries I gave you. Once you do that, it should check the entries and validate the account. You shouldn't have any trouble from there. Those settings will work from either the iPhone on cell, or wireless. Mine will even work when I'm at home on my wireless there, which is on the Comcast network.

Hi,
You can only get the SAP mails into UWL notification tab with the Sonic connector (well of course with some custom development everything is possible).
One trick to get the workflow for sending "mails" to UWL is to NOT use email sending step, but instead use a decision step in the workflow and send this work item to the user. The decision step can include the same message as the email, and have onl one option "Confirm" (or whatever). These you can easily display in UWL since they are normal work items.

Can no longer send mail through Apple Mail

Starting yesterday morning, I can no longer send mail via Apple Mail. I can receive it just fine, but when I try to send, it struggles for a minute, then leaves the message in my Outbox. When I open Mail's "Connection Doctor," it says "Could not connect to this SMTP server"; it says this for all three SMTP servers I routinely use, including smtp.mac.com.
No other computer in my house has this problem. In fact, if I switch to a different account on my Mac and use Apple Mail with these same smtp servers, it works fine.
Needless to say, this is completely mystifying to me. Does anyone have any idea what's happening, or how to correct the problem?

Do my eyes deceive me? Am I dreaming? Could it really be true? Looks like Apple (finally) fixed this issue! Simply update your Mac to 10.5.5. It might reboot several times. That is normal. When it finally reaches the desktop open your Mail app and try sending. It should now work for you. I couldn't be any happier, after over a year without Mail it's finally working again! Sending mail to all partner function in transaction

Standard action and condition sends mail to only main partner function in transaction. But transaction could have more than one partners for same partner function. Can mail be sent to all partners in transaction by using standard action configuration?

Hi Nikhil,
You can control this using CRM_ACTION_BADI.
Below the use of this BADI.
In partner-dependent actions, business partners that occur in several functions, only the main partner remains.
This can be useful, for example to avoid sending the same e-mail to the same business partner if there are several action definitions for different partner functions or function types.
However, if several different actions have been defined as partner- dependent, this effect may not be required.
In this case, the CRM_ACTION_BADI standard implementation can be deactivated. In this case, all partners from the transaction are considered during action determination.
If this is also not required, a new implementation can be created.

Getting "Error in sieve filter" message with each incoming mail and cannot recieve or send mail to or from iCloud account apart from Apple emails!! Please help!

Since approx 7am GMT I've been getting "Error in sieve filter" message with each incoming mail, worse though, since about 12 noon I cannot recieve or send mail to or from my iCloud account apart from I've been getting emails from Apple (ie I've just received a welcome one from Apple Support Communities...)!! I've had this account for years, never had a problem - it can't be the OSX Mail server because the problem is the same when I log directly into iCloud. I've tried sending emails from my Hotmail account to my iCloud account (a .mac) and just get undeliverable messages back. I'm really in the s**t now at work. : ( I just set up a Smart TV yesterday with a wireless dongle - that's the only thing I've done out of the ordinary. I've spoken to Sky who are my ISP and they say all's fine with them (although the router kept kicking my off the internet this morning which was strange...). Router seems fine now though. I'm really hoping someone here can help!!

Attach GOS attachments with a standard send mail functionality

Hi Folks,
I am here after long time and need your help.
I have a requirement where I need to attach document with a standard send mail functionality.
Below is the details:
From Quality notification 'Action Box', if the user select a perticular action (it is similar to web link), the system is sending a mail to an external mail id provided by the user (In a popup). This mail send is happening through a SAP standard functionality.
Now the requirement is, I need to attach selected file from GOS (generic Object Services) and attach them to the mail. Sending mail should happen through standard functionality.
I want to know below two points:
1) How to get selected files from GOS attachment?
2) How to attach them to mail? (only attach, sending will be done by standard functionality)
Hope I am clear with the requirement.
Please help me to get it resolved.

Function module to send mail from SAP

Can any one please tell the Function module to send mail from SAP. The scenario is like this,I have a file in local system that i have to send to a particular mail address like [email protected] through a report program.

Send mail using CL_BCS through function module, run in background task.

Hi,
I am running a function module in Background task. in this function module I am sending mail using CL_BCS class.
but mail is not generated. if I run the same function Module in foreground mail generated successfully....
can anyone please tell me the reason behind this.

Hi i realise that The LIST_TO_ASCII thing is not working correctly in background because the the list-processing in beckground is working not the same as in dialog i think.
I can only get the last page of the list out when running in background. Any solution to this?

Is anyone else having trouble sending mail? I have a MobileMe subscription - not sure whether that is the problem. The Port assigned to my mail account on my iMac has a different number for the one recommended by Apple, but I hesitate to change it.

Is anyone else having trouble sending mail on an iMac running 10.6.8. I get a messsage that the server can't be accessed. Apple help suggests using a different port from the one that was originally set. I have a Mobile Me account. Any suggestions?

I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.
The tech who set the phone up at the Apple store did so with little training.
if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.

Hi All,
Can you let me know if there is an FM to send mails to the OUTLOOK. Also let me know what parameters need to be passed to the FM.

Send Mail Functionality in Siebel.

Hi,
In our company the mail is maintained by Google, so we do not have mail server inside the company network. When we try to send mail using the Communication profile in Siebel which is configured with the SMTP information provided by Google. But the mail fails and it asks for SSL which is not installed in Siebel. The F9 functionality works fine with Microsoft Outlook. To send automatic mail using the Outbound communication manager does not work as it does not use the Outlook configuration. So now we are not able to send automatic mail. Kindly let me know is there any other possibility to send automatic mail.

Can you explain what you mean by 'SSL is not configured in the Siebel Server'?
My understanding is that you don't have to have anything specific configured on the Siebel Server to permit the use of SSL in the connection to the external SMTP server. In the same way I use SSL in my Outlook connection to Googlemail without having to install anything specific on my PC.
Are you thinking about about the Strong Encryption Pack or something similar?
Have you tried setting the parameter anyway, just to see what happens?
Apologies if I'm wrong on this one - I've not used an external SMTP server before so really just trying to rack my brain to help you out with some suggestions.

Not sure I understand your question, but I think you want to know how to handle a lengthly operation (send mail in your case) without making the client wait a long time for a response. If that is the question, you can kick off a new thread to handle the mail sending while replying to the browser client immediately. There's a good intro to threads and examples in the Jave tutorial (http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/essential/threads/index.html)
