Sending a SAP Office Attachment as a PDF to Internet email Address

We are using SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 and SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 to create e-mails with attachments from SAP and sending them to e-mail addresses which are outside of SAP. Today we tell these function modules that the attachments are "RAW" datatype which, somewhere in the process, creates the attachment with a file type of TXT. What I want to do is have that same attachment sent as a PDF file. I can change the file type in the "packing list" of these functions and the get delivered with the PDF file type to the external recipient. However, when you try to open the attached file, Adobe tells you that the file is corrupted or not decoded properly. Any ideas how I can convert the attachment's data properly so it can be read by Adobe on the recipient's side? I know how to convert spool files using CONVERT_ABAPSPOOLJOB_2_PDF but couldn't find any technique for attachments.

Sending mail from office applications

greatings, whenever i try to send a word, excel or powerpoint file via email (using the send to > Mail recipient (as attachment)) menu item, MAIL is opened as email application. Eventhough i have selected entourage as my default email application. Is there somewhere to change this, i assume it's a macOS setting somewhere but hav not been able to find it.

Virt GW8 - Send mail from Office 07

I am working on virtualizing GroupWise 8 sp2.
Got it working for the most part. Mailto links in IE, file extensions etc.
The one thing I cannot figure out is how to get Office to use the virtual app to mail documents. It wants to use Window Messaging which is needed for a manual install...
Guess I need to figure out how to config wms to use the virt app...
Anyone fix this?

Send BDC session link via SAP Office

I know I've seen this somewhere. If you have some code I can use, that would be wonderful. If you even know a way to generate a SAP Office message with a link in it to process a BDC session, I'll debug it myself to figure it out and repost here.
Basically, I'm doing a Call Transaction in a background process, if it fails, it will write to a BDC session. I'd like to instantly send a SAP Office message to a group with a link in it to process the specific session that was generated.
Thank you for any suggestions, code snippets, or references to where something like this is currently done in SAP. I know I've seen it somewhere!

I'm not sure of the exact details but I believe you have to change the processing type of the email action. I think there is a method call that you can select to send a mail to the SAP office mail.

Hi Prakash,
firstly you should check that sending email messages works okay from SAP Office. If you can't send messages from there then you have no chance doing it from a program.
Then, if you want to send email externally, you need to ensure the SMTP plug-in is properly configured. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/af/73563c1e734f0fe10000000a114084/frameset.htm covers this.
Then, yet again, ensure you can send messages to external recipients and receive their replies in SAP Office before trying to do it from a program.

Out of office message when sending mail to Lotus Notes from SAP

Hi,
Is it possible to have an 'out of office' message when sending mail to Lotus Notes from SAP?
I'm sending account statements by mail via a modified version of function FI_OPT_ARCHIVE_CORRESPONDENCE. The SAP username is send as a parameter, and later converted to the e-mail saved in the user profile. This works, - but I would like to have an out of office reply if the user I send to is out of office.

As Thomas pointed out, you can use regular SMTP mail to send the contents to Lotus Notes. You can use the function module SO_OBJECT_SEND or any of the SAP Office function modules to do this.
Only thing to remember is that the SMTP may have been disabled by your basis team due to security risks involved. An alternative could be a lotus notes connector available from IBM.

No you can do with one.
You have to do this configuration.
Go to SO16-> Mail Sy Grp->Select Send to home addresses of users
Use
The messages that are sent to users in this SAP System are forwarded to the users' home addresses. The home address of a user can be the Internet address of their mailbox in an external mail system (for example, Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes).
Dependencies
The home address of each user is specified in the address management for every communication method used. In the case of a mail system group, only the home address that is specified for the standard communication method of a user is of importance. The messages are forwarded to this address.
You have to reset the address buffer on the tab page Adressing in order for address changes to become effective directly.

SAP can be configured to send and receive emails from different sources.This section explains how to integrate SAPOffice with an external emailsystem. Your Internet email must be configured and running prior to this.Email from SAP is forwarded to the users external email system..
You can configure inbound and outbound forwarding. Outbound flow forwardsa SAP message (eg: update termination) via UNIX sendmail to the intended recepient. Inbound accepts a message from sendmail and places it in the users SAPOffice inbox. Many companies prefer to configure outbound only.

4. If you don't see the mail in your internet mailbox, go back and review steps 1-12

Problems that you might encounter :-
If you have set up a node in SCOT and it tests out well but recieve the reply.
"Cannot process message in node, parameterscannot be converted".
Make sure the RFC connection is working, and that SapConnect has been installed on the Unix Server or the Microsoft Exchange Server. Originally, I had the same error, and found that nothing had been installed on Unixor Exchange, to support SapConnect.
In SCOT (View -> System Status), your mail remains at the Intransit column.
Check you sendmail.cf files (e.g.Sun Solaris /etc/mail/sendmail.cf). Try using the sendmail command to send a test file at the Unix level. You must be able to send mail at theUnix level before you can send mail at the SAP level.

Configuring SAP 4.6x Internet mail Gateway
SAP can be configured to send and receive emails from different sources.This section explains how to integrate SAPOffice with an external emailsystem. Your Internet email must be configured and running prior to this.Email from SAP is forwarded to the users external email system..
You can configure inbound and outbound forwarding. Outbound flow forwardsa SAP message (eg: update termination) via UNIX sendmail to the intended recepient. Inbound accepts a message from sendmail and places it in the users SAPOffice inbox. Many companies prefer to configure outbound only.
Configuring outbound forwarding

Testing whether your configuration is successful
1. Logon to SAP
2. Execute transaction SO01
3. Write a message and send it to <your_internet_email_address>
4. If you don't see the mail in your internet mailbox, go back and review steps 1-12
Schedule the SAP Internet Mail Gateway Jobs to start every 5 minutes

3. Click Schedule and supply the date and time
4. Click Schedule periodically and tick Minutes and type in 5
5. Click Create and you are done

Problems that you might encounter :-
If you have set up a node in SCOT and it tests out well but recieve the reply.
"Cannot process message in node, parameterscannot be converted".
Make sure the RFC connection is working, and that SapConnect has been installed on the Unix Server or the Microsoft Exchange Server. Originally, I had the same error, and found that nothing had been installed on Unixor Exchange, to support SapConnect.
In SCOT (View -> System Status), your mail remains at the Intransit column.
Check you sendmail.cf files (e.g.Sun Solaris /etc/mail/sendmail.cf). Try using the sendmail command to send a test file at the Unix level. You must be able to send mail at theUnix level before you can send mail at the SAP level.

   Please find the
1) How can I send a document info record(DIS) Through SAP mail to
     Supplier as     a links...
    I want to send a DIS links(more than 1) to supplier using SAP mail.......
    How can I achive this please lte me know the step by step proceddure
2) When the supplier clciks on the link (DIS LINKS) it should connect to
     Portal   and it should show the documnet info record.
     Please let me know the step by step procedure...
3)   After showing the documnet info record(DIS) in the portal,If user clicks on
     original attachmnet of documnet info record(DIS) it shoud show the drawing
