I hope to know how to send mail to outher users from other domaines like yahoo ou homail.
Any one tried it befor???
thx all

Hi.
I setup my oracle mail server as mail.mit.edu.mk
my smtp server is mail.mit.edu.mk.
My host is mail.mit.edu.mk and this is DNS server at the same time.
My host is behind firewall, but all necessary ports are opened.
I can send and recieve mails with all participants in my domain, but I can't send mails to recipients of outside domains. I coul'd send messages to outside recipients of outside domains, but with mail2web service.
What is the problem?

• Failed to send mail to external domain via portal

Hi Gurus,
By following the configuraion instructions in SAP library - Collaboration - Groupware - Installing and Configuring E-Mail Connectivity, I managed to send mail to recipients who reside in same domain e.g. [email protected] via portal.
However, I failed to send mail to external domain e.g. [email protected]. I got the following error message:

Thanks alot.

Hi Ajey,
Thanks for your reply. I had tried your suggestion but same problem occurred with same error output.
Actually, I encounterred this error message before in my Microsoft Outlook, where System Admin returned me a mail saying that, my mail was undeliverable with the same error message. But this can be solved by applying the Internet Email Account Setting - Outgoing Server - My outgoing server (SMTP) require authentication.
So I am wondering,
1) This problem is caused by SMTP server?
2) Is there any workaround (like the Outlook Setting) I can configure in Portal?
Do you have any idea?
Thanks,

The program was working fine till last month , however it has stopped sending mails to outside domain now.

Hi mac,
There is one setting in transaction SCOT (Basis people will be able to help you).
There we can specifiy the domains. Generally it is *. But it can be restricted. This may be causing the issue.

• Problem in workflow sending mails to external domains like yahoo, gmail etc.

hi
i have one probs in my workflow that when i am sending mail to an external id it is not going to gmail, yahoo or hotmail etc.
it is being send to a particular domain say XYZ
but outside it ,no mail is send
and error is coming that recepient is unknown
we have firewalls being placed on smtp
and each and every setting in SCOT has been checked thorughly
but still mail except to one domain is not going outside
i have came across the info that since SAP doesn have any user id authentication but SMTP does has ,so when mail is being send outside the mail sending is failed, one option could be to disable the authentication at SMTP but thats doesn come inside the policy of client
so i think there must be a way out in SAP to deal with this
please suggest how can i send the mails externally,i ahve checked each and every thing inside my SMTP configuration ,adress is defined as * here but still mail is being send to internal domain of the client in which i am working ,but not at all to the external domains like gmail, yahoo etc.
any help will be highly appreciated
best regards
ashish

Hi Ashish,
I think you will need to check with your exchange guys because probably the exchange server will not relay the messages form the SAP server to external e-mail domains.

• How to send mail to external email within workflow

Hi Expert,
I know this question has been questioned before in the forum but that is quite different from what i want. After researching in this forum i found out that forwarding was the way to move the inbox into the external mail (using scheduled job) but what i want is to include send mail activity within the workflow that directly send email into the external email ( so no scheduled job). The logic is perhaps:
1. get the email address
2. use send mail activity
3. Assign the element defined to E-Mail Address.
4. send the email.
But I'm unable to retrieve the email address, store it and pass it into the email (as element). Can somebody help me with this?

• Unable to send mails to other domains using sendmail in RHEL5

Hi,
we are unable to send the mails to other domain/gmail/hotmail except our own corporate domain .
Following is the error message ,
xdelay=00:00:00, mailer=relay, pri=120332, relay= ******.****.corp. [xx.xx.xx.xx], dsn=5.7.1, stat=User unknown
Kindly suggest.

Like I previously outlined there can be numerous reasons. The error message you are providing is absolutely useless. You will need to find out how your emails are being routed, i.e. sent to the outside directly or via another smtp gateway inside your network. Check your sendmail "smarthost" configuration, IP firewall and contact the mail administrator of your company if you use another mail gateway for relay. If you are allowed to send emails to the Internet cloud directly then you're server should be registered by a public MX DNS record. Google or Hotmail doesn't care what DNS you have configured locally. You don't add DNS entries into resolv.conf, only which servers to contact for you own DNS resolving. You may need to contact your Internet service provider or configure the DNS server that represents your DNS authority and address space to the worldwide Internet.

• Problem sending mail to one domain

System: Netware 6.5.8 with all current patches.
We are having a problem sending mail to one particular domain (neigerllp.com). When a message is sent our GW GWIA returns a "553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)" error message. We receive that error because our mail server is looking at their secondary mx instead of their primary mx. If I unload named then our mail server looks for the secondary external DNS server and mail is sent without error to this domain. When named is not loaded it sends to the correct mx server listed. If I reload named it will work for a while but then default to the incorrect mail server. It also works for a while when I load named -pa, but eventually reverts back to the incorrect server. Could someone help me resolve this issue?
Thanks,

Not here. It's a known GWIA bug. It doesn't look at the preference in
the MX record, but merely uses them i nthe order they come in. Your DNS
making a difference is a red herring.
Check if your GWIA is up to date. If it is, you will have to open a SR
with Novell.
