Send over HTML-Link an string to PDF with openparameters ?

Hi,
is it possible to open an 3D-PDF over an HTML-Link and commit the 3D-PDF any strings (I´m not mean a searchstring for the internal searchfunction)?
Thanks for help !

It's very difficult to explain by words.
I need an help in this forum because I want to make my book(interactive pdf) opens an external application that is a sort of presentation with video and images created in director.
If I try to create an hypertextual link between a button and this file  I don't have the chance to choose it. So I thought to write a script like - launch "start.app"- to make my presentation run ( it happens if I ask the script to run).
But I wonder: - how can I make this event happen only  when I ask to my project to do it?-
For example: I am reading my book on adobe digital edition and at the end of the third chapter, there is an image.  I mouse up and I understand it's a button. When I click on, it opens a new window with my presentation running and I watch it. At end I quit and I keep on reading my book on Adobe digital edition.
Have you an idea?
I hope I have explained it much better?!?!

  • Mouse over HTML link causes single frame to display at top of page Netscape only

    Having a wierd problem. When you run the mouse over HTML
    links on the page a single frame of the flash movie apears at the
    top center of the page. It only happens in netscape in firefox
    mode. IE, Opera, and Firefox do not have the problem.
    Problem site
    Thanks in Advance,
    Vorsch

    The problem goes away if i modify my .css file by removing
    the
    border: 1px solid #999999;
    line from the "a:hover" style.
    I ran my css file thru the validator at w3c and its fine. The
    Page also validates as xhtml transitional.
    and just a note the same file version is on my public server
    and my testing server.
    Has anyone ever seen this before?? I have several sites with
    a:hover effects and flass media and have never run across this
    before.

  • HTML link to bookmark in pdf file

    Hi everyone,
    I use the following suffix on an html link in order to link to a specific page within a pdf file:  #page=15  This works but I need to know go one step further and link to a specific bookmark within the pdf. I use the following suffix to try to do this:  #bookmark name  The above syntax doesn't work because the bookmarks all have spaces in their names. Apparently it's supposed to work if I remove the spaces from the bookmark names but this isn't practical because I'm generating the pdf out of Indesign and the bookmarks in the resulting pdf are just a reflection of the table of contents in Indesign. I can't remove the spaces from the TOC entries just so that there's no spaces in the bookmarks in the pdf.
    So I need some sort of workaround and wondered if anyone would have any suggestions. Is there some acrobat script or any other solution to this problem?
    Really appreciate any help.

    Try %20 instead of spaces. HTML links are URL-encoded, and this is the usual translation of a single space, as for example can be seen in links in Google.
    If it works, you can automatically convert the bookmark name to URL format with the function encodeURI ("Every non-alphanumeric character is encoded as a percent escape").

  • Question: Sending a HTML-Link (via email) for updating data

    Hello,
    I have an simple application which is club member request form.
    Anyone who will get a member in our club can type in some personal data and after pressing the create button he will get a confirmation e-mail.
    Till here everything works fine.
    Now I will put an confirmation link (HTML) in the confirmation e-mail.
    The new member should click on this link and the link should update (and commit) a the column "confirm" in my new_member table depending on an ID.
    Now my problem:
    I have no idea how this link should look like.
    Thanks for help

    Generally, this kind of implementation goes deeper than just what the link looks like. In fact, what the link looks like depends entirely on how you've implemented the confirmation process in your database.
    Although I've never done this specifically, I have given considerable thought to how it would be implemented. I thought that I would have a specific table that would hold pending confirmations. This table would hold some kind identifying data as well as a unique ID that would identify the row, probably something that looked like a GUID.
    Given this table structure there would probably be a trigger or PL/SQL process that took the pending member information and moved it into the members table when the member clicked on a confirmation button on the confirmation page. Therefore, the link that is sent to the user would need to look something like this:
    http://[yourhost.domain:port]/pls/[your DAD]/f?p=&app_id.:[your confirmation page #]&session.::::[your page item name]:[the unique ID for the member]
    The page item name is the item you define on the confirmation page that will hold the confirmation ID and the unique Id comes out of the table for the specific membership you're confirming.
    Again, this is conceptual since I've not done this specifically, but it should give you a place to start.

  • Force Routing Over second link?

    We have a MPLS WAN connecting our offices from our Service Provider. Our Head Office has a larger 50Mbps pipe and a remote office has 2 separate 2Mbps links (lets call them link1 and link2). Right now all traffic only goes over Link1 at the remote office as per all the BGP routing. I can make a static route at the remote office for specific traffic to go over link2 and it will successfully send over that link. My question is, is there a way to get traffic from Head Office to go to Link2 instead of Link1?

    It primary depends on BGP routing. You can try to change the way ISP send traffic to you branch using different BGP path attribute  in advertisement on the two links but you have to negotiated with ISP because they can also "force" their netwrok to use on path instead of the other for example using BGP local preference. I suggest you to read here to understand BGP algorithm:

  • How to hide the Alt description when you hover over your links?

    I was told that you have to have a description for images, links just about everything. But when I preview my website and hover over the links, a yellow box appears with the description of the images. How do I hide this?

    You are previewing with an old (very old?) version of IE, which is the only browser on earth that does what you describe.  All other browsers play by the rules and leave the alt attribute values alone (which is what they should do).
    You can choose to ignore this, or 'kill' it by adding a title attribute that is empty, e.g.,
    <img alt="foo" title=""...
    By the way, you add alt attributes to images for accessibility reasons.  People who browse with images turned off (and there are some) or people who use screen assistive devices (screenreaders) need some indication that there is an image at the point where they are looking/reading.  Consequently, you would only want to add content to these alt attributes where it's important to the message of the page (i.e., a cosmetic-only image would just have an empty alt attribute value). And you only need these for images, not for any other page element....

  • How do I send an html file?

    How would I send an html document so that it opens with all its graphics inside mail. I dont want to send it as an attachment just as a newsletter type of mailing. Any ideas??

    I had the same problem. In Safari if you press apple & i it opens up a new mail message and puts the web page in it with all graphic and buttons working. So if you can host your newletter as a web page then press apple i you'll be able to send it as a html message.

  • HTTP Link in PDF with Adobe Reader X

    Hie everybody,
    I'm facing a problem with adobe reader X.
    When i open a pdf and try to open an http link within the PDF, it takes up to 30 seconds before a popup comes up asking me if i want to trust the site.
    When i open the same http link in the same pdf with Adobe reader 9.3 it only takes 2 seconds ....
    Is there a way to solve that issue on Adobe X ??
    Thank you very much

    hey watchon,
    did you work this out? do you have a solution?
    i have exactly the same problem on windows server 2008 r2 with adobe reader x. in my case, there are + signs in the http-link and then it behaves like you mentioned. a file without any special characters in the path does not do any problems - it just opens as it should...
    thanks in advance!

  • Closet - core routed link. What to do with VLAN1.

    I am connecting closets to core over routed links, what do I do with VLAN1? Right now it is enabled with no IP address. Do I do a shut? Leave it up and give it an addres with a 255.255.255.255 mask? Everything seems to be working except for NTP which may not be related.

    For security reasons I would disable vlan1, this is Cisco's default vlan. I still would suggest setting up a vlan for management purposes (vlan10 or similar) and give it an IP address so you can remotley manage this device.

  • Convert Pages document to PDF and maintain html links accurately

    Hi - I am trying to convert a Pages document to pdf, simple right? go to Print / PDF / Save as pdf...
    I have also tried Print / Save as Postscript and Print / Open in PDF
    with the same results, which are...
    Pages dutifully converts to pdf, but on some pages where I have multiple links the formatting position of the links is all over the place on the page, some links are conflated on the page so it says one thing 'www.bbc.co.uk' for example but when you click that link it links to 'www.cnn.com' instead because CNN is the link a little further on in the line, or in the line of text above, or whole sections of the page (half of one page) become a link!
    I have checked the formatting positions and link lables over and over again in Pages and they are spot on, no confusion, no leaking in positional accuracy, it is only when converting to pdf or postscript
    I have many html links in my document so it is vital that the exact position of the formatted links in Pages is converted accurately.
    Any advice on
    a) using Pages Print command accurately? or
    b) third party apps (really dont want to go there)
    that might convert more accurately?
    many thanks

    Thank you Roger!
    I went back to 09 as suggested which identified the section in question as having a whole load of text that had become associated with one of the links - goodness knows how or why - but this wasn't apparent in the Pages 5 doc, nothing explicit signified that there was an issue with the formatting until converting to pdf
    It took me a while to strip it all out without losing all the other formatting! but done now and converting beautifully to pdf with complete accuracy in terms of formatting positions of linked text...
    I then reimported back into Pages 5 to see if I could make sense of it in the same way, long story short no chance, there is still background formatting in there, despite going through it line by line, character by character and removing all traces of any link through the 'right click' 'remove link' function - as soon as you convert to pdf lots of text becomes active again even though it is absolutely not visible in the Pages 5 doc
    Clearly, despite a strong desire to continue in 5 from a being uptodate perspective, I shall stick to the 09 world and wait for Apple to sort things out.
    If anyone from Apple is reading this, it has cost me approx 2 days of messing about to get to a point where I give up on 5 and return to 09. Please resolve as soon as possible!

  • ComboBox  over HTML text shows link

    I have a ComboBox that opens over an HTML text field. The
    HTML text field contains html text as links i.e. "<a href="">
    etc which change colour on rollOver. Rolling over a link in the
    open ComboBox also triggers the rollOver on the underlying html
    text!
    It's as if the ComboBox is transparent, but I can't get it's
    background to be solid so as not to trigger the rollovers
    underneath. BTW the html links do not respond in any way other than
    to the rollOver. They do not link anywhere if a mouse click happens
    in the ComboBox. If the box is closed however, they do link as
    designed, to other pages.

    The HTML_FORMAT was renamed to TEXT_FIELD_HTML_FORMAT to reflect the fact that it is specific to the htmlText property in TextField, not a general html implementation.
    This is working correctly for me:
                var _text:String = "<html><body><span>first line of text, <i>this is italic</i> and <a href='cnn.com'>a link to cnn</a>, 2nd line of text.</span></body></html>";
                var _flow:TextFlow = TextConverter.importToFlow( _text, TextConverter.TEXT_FIELD_HTML_FORMAT);
                _flow.fontLookup = FontLookup.DEVICE;
                _flow.renderingMode = RenderingMode.NORMAL;
                _flow.fontFamily = "Arial";
                var s:Sprite = new Sprite();
                s.x = 30;
                s.y = 30;
                _flow.flowComposer.addController(new ContainerController(s, 300, 500));
                _flow.flowComposer.updateAllControllers();
                addChild(s);

    Hello,

    the POST method to an other script.

    For example you can set a parameter like "*.pdf#view=FitView".

    Hi, beejasaurus
    I found a possible kluge from this discussion here
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1008480
    Create the hyperlinks in Word, save the file
    Open that file with Pages, export as PDF.
    The links work from that PDF.
    Note, I did not try this with TOC but it worked with hyperlinks embedded in the Word document

  • Exporting to PDF with hot html links

    I'm trying to create a pdf document that has functioning html links. Does Pages let you do this?

    To create a PDF with live links you'll need to buy a full version of Adobe Acrobat. Adobe Reader is just as titled - a reader. It will only allow reading and basic markup of pdfs.
    The PDFs created through the Print menu are also very simple PDFs. Their creation is not a function of the program the original document comes from, be it Pages, Numbers, Word, Excel, Appleworks etc. It is based on the operating system using technology which is probably licensed from Adobe.
    To get all the functionality available in a PDF, you've go to pay the piper - Adobe - for the software.
    Good luck,
    Terry
