Send photos via text

Is it possible to send photos via text message instead of email?

No. This is called MMS and is not a function of the iphone.
E-mail works as you can send and receive pictures to and from your iphone, to and from other peoples cell phones.

  • IPhone 4 IOS 7 - unable to send photos via text

I have been unable to send photos via text since updating to IOS7.  All of my settings are up to date and this problem occurs on wifi, 3G and makes no difference if I send the photo via message first or from my camera.  I have read all the troubleshooting guides and nothing has provided a permanent solution.  Resetting the network seems to work for a limited time before the photos come up with the same "not delivered" icon again.
Does anyone know why the reset would work and then stop working if I haven't switched my phone off?
    Thanks

You may have to backup and restore through iTunes. Have you contacted your carrier about this since this feature is carrier-provided?

  • Restrict receiving and sending photos via texting

Is there a way or an app that will restrict the ability to receive and send photos via texting?

You are able to receive and send an MMS with MMS Messaging turned off at Settings > Messages?

  • Droid Charge - 3rd one, same problem with sending photos via text (MMS)

Sending photos via text messaging (stock messaging client) does not work consistently.
In a 4G area, the texts go through fine with minimal errors (perhaps 1 out of 20 failures to send)
In a 3G or less, the texts give me an error message of "Failed" or pending, whether or not the recipient gets it (usually the recipient does not get the message) - this is true of recipients with AT&T, Sprint and Verizon service with smartphones and Blackberries.
If I do not delete the thread, I get the message "Too many unsent multimedia messages" and the phone will not initiate the send.  The phone will, however, continue to try to sending the photo, causing very rapid battery drain.
The last phone was replaced because the phone was not closing out the message, according to the last technician to whom I spoke.
Is there something else I can do to get the full functionality of the phone I paid for?  This is an extremely frustrating issue, and makes me regret switching to Verizon.

        Hi moonchef!
Sending pictures is something I do on a daily basis, so I know how important this is! It is true that pictures have to be sent over the VZW network and not Wifi. I would like to ask you if you resent the same picture that failed? Or did you send the same picture again, but in a separate message? Please try sending it again separately and let me know the results. Thanks!

  • Does texting and/or sending photos via text use up my data allowance?

I am just trying to confirm this for a friend---that texting and sending photos via text does not use up my data allowance. Can anyone confirm this for me?

After thinking about this a bit more, we would need to know HOW you text and send photos.
Sending SMS/MMS text/photos DOES NOT use up your data allowance. This is what I assumed when you simply said "texting and sending photos via text".
After thinking further, SMS/MMS is not the only way people "text and send photos via text. For example, iPhones can use iMessage and THOSE messages would use up your data allowance for actual messages sent via iMessage to/from other iPhones.
Other apps have their own texting capabilities which will ALSO use up your data allowance. Examples would be Facebook, Skype, Twitter, Instagram, Tango, etc...
If you are simply sending via SMS/MMS, then no you are not using up your data allowance. If you are utilizing some other method, then the answer could very well be yes.

  • How do I send photos via text message to non-iPhone users?

I can send photos to only iPhone users, but not other phones. WHAT'S GOING ON?

Do you have MMS messaging turned on? Does your plan allow for MMS messaging? Are you using T-Mobile in the US? T-Mo's US network is not fully compatible with the iPhone and MMS messaging may not work.

  • My iphone4s won't send photos via text or email

My iphone4s takes videos and pictures no problem and attaches them to an email or text message but they won't send even when I reduced them to their smallest size.

No, they're all stuck in my outbox. When I go to the outbox, there is a message that pops up after awhile: Cannot Send Mail. The user name or password for "SMTP:[email protected]" is incorrect.
I'm not sure why it's adding the smtp-- I didn't have that in the email address.
Apparently, I'm supposed to log in somewhere, but not sure where/how to do that???

  • Unable to send photos via text or MMS messaging

I have sent several photos that were never received on the other side.   I am using my iphone5 and my MMS settings are on.
I did not have this same issue last week.  Why are the photos/pictures not being sent??

Is the message successfully sent - no red indicator on the message indicating it was not sent?
If successfully sent, what happens the message after that has nothing to do with the phone that sent the message.
    Contact your carrier.

  • Using 3GS, send photo via text

If you have MMS provisioned on your iPhone and turned on there should be a camera icon left of the text entry screen. Tap the camera icon.

  • Cannot receive photos via text messaging, says too big to receive

I can receive photos via blue tooth but when anybody sends photos via text it does not arrive or I am told that the image is too big.

    Hi,
Thank you for posting the issue here and providing more information. I did some research on the carrier and this is what I found about sending a receiving messages.
Please call your service provider to find out if there are any limitations on attachment sized for your phone plan.
I tried looking up to verify how to manually set up email for the email app for your phone, but was not sure what model you had: please check here for troubleshooting info [http://www.vodafone.com.au/help/devices/ota-settings] if the email is already set up, please ignore.
This lists the networks that work best for sending and receiving pxt in mms overseas and email

    PXT®/MMS settings [http://support.vodafone.com.au/articles/FAQ/PXT-MMS-settings]
If this continues after any optimizing changes the service provider recommends:
*Are there download settings set in the email menu
*What is the size of the attachment when this happens?
*Is it a specific file type this consistently happens?
*what kind of email account does this happen with, and is it consistent for other emails as well? If so it may be the apn settings.
If you are unable to access the images from the account with Vodafone, it may be the following bugs that is affecting this.
*Does it happen with pdfs? [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=825318]
*Does is happen when there is no message?
*Does it happen when it is too large and is there a message? [https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=949972]

The problem is with the new operating system  and sending photo via email when used in my iPad.
From photo I selected 3 photos to send via email. I choose the upload key and choose to send by email. Typing text on the email is very slow. This is solved by saving the email as a draft and opening the email again from mail.
Can you amend he system to allow emails to be sent from photo as previously.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

No phone can send photos via SMS. You would need MMS (or iMessage or a 3rd party app such as WhatsApp). SMS messages are limited to 160 characters of text only.
