Send signal out via BNC-2110

Hi,
I am new to Signal Express and using 2009 version.
I want to send a rising 0-5volt step pulse analog out through NI BNC-2110 to trigger another instrument once the analog input starts i.e. to sync different recordings. It must be simple but I just could'nt figure it out. Can some one help me with step by step basis,I really don't understand ..please..
I tried couples of ways suggested in the forum:
1) Create Analog Signal-DC-how do I create a rising 0-5V, it just has an offset box?
2) DAQmx Generate- Analog output-Dev1_ao0. which one should i use 1) or 2)
3)DAQmx Generate-Digtal port output -port0-what is programmatic input?

Hello ilya,
I recommend checking out some of the analog generation examples we have in our example finder. If you open the help menu, and select Example Finder the finder will pop up. From there navigate to Hardware Input and Output>>DAQmx>>Analog Generation and take a look at some of the examples provided.
When outputting a signal remember to select the correct channel you want the signal to be transmitted from. So when it says Dev1_ao0 that means the signal will be output on ao0 of your BNC-2110.

First, what you said is contradictory. You say "can't get a video signal", then say"the Mac wallpaper is broadcast, the mouse pointer is visible". "No video signal" means an absolutely black,blank screen. It sounds like you have plenty of signal.
I am supposing what you are seeing is actually a blank desktop, which is to be expected if your settings are such that you are extending the desktop, instead of mirroring it.
Within the preference panes is a setting that allows you to change this. Open System Preferences, click Displays, and then click Arrangement. You will see that you are extending the desktop. Change that setting.

Inputing TTL pulses to NI-PCI-MIO-16E-1 via BNC-2110

I need to count TTL pulses coming from photomultiplying tube (PMT) module. Can someone tell me, please, how do I connect BNC cable from PMT module to NI PCI-MIO 16E-1 DAQ board via BNC-2110 adapter?

I have attached an image which shows how to connect the USER 1 BNC and USER 2 BNC connectors to the proper PFI pins which serve as the source of counter 0 and counter 1. You should only need to use one counter to count edges.

Sending video OUT via Firewire to my Camcorder FROM my computer?

Hi all!
Can I send video OUT from my comp. to my camcorder via Firewire. I have a camcorder that has Passthrough to use it as a bridge which I have used to hook up a vcr with. But Im not sure if I can send video OUT to the camcorder and record it on the tape? Any help would be great!

Yes, you should be able to do this. Use the Export command in the File menu of iMovie, and you will see that Camera is one of the options.

How to send signal out from PCI 6010

I'm using signal express 2010 liecensed version. Now I want to create an AC signal and send it via NI PCI 6010 to servo motor. I tried many time, but it does not work. I click the example, signal express is automatically closed. Pls help.

I'm using signal express 2010 to create an AC signal. The AC signal is created initially. Now I want to send it via NI PCI 6010 to control pulse width modulation, for example. The problem is: i cannot get the connection diagram. I don't know how to use the help. Everytime I tried to open the example files, the signal express off itself automatically. Its a licensed version.
I need examples to know how to create a signal, then send it via Analog Output. I don't get the CB-37F-LP Quick Reference Label in internet. So I don't know which pin is given for AO1 and AO2.
I'm also using another computer with signal express 2009, PCI 6221 with SCB -68 connector. The connector has legend to tell which pin is given for analog output. Whereas the CB-37F-LP has nothing to indicate the connections. However the NI PCI 6010 can acquire signal as I have tried in few cases.
Now I need an example to know : HOW TO CREATE A SIGNAL AND SEND IT VIA ANALOG OUTPUT.

Send Video Out via Firewire 800?

I have a macbook pro that has a firewire 800 port on it
i also have a video switcher for video productions that takes a firewire 400 input as a video source
i own a firewire 800 to 400 cable.
is there any way to get video to send out of the macbook pro to go into the video switcher?
when i connect the cables, nothing happens.

I had forgotten I'd posted this and I need to make a clarification.
At the time of this posting, I'd been assured by Blackmagic Designs that Color would preview externally through their Intensity Pro card although in 8-bit video. Since the time of this posting and upon further query with BM tech support, I was told the Intensity Pro could not be used in this function.

RSWUWFML2 - CONVERSION ERROR sending workitem out via SCOT

Hi there,
Please help, I am using report RSWUWFML2 to send workitems to outlook, the email gets to outlook but it seems like there is a CONVERSION error that occurs in SAP that results in no workitem ATTACHMENT being in the email.
The error in the email is: "Message cannot be processed as it cannot be converted"
I turned on the trace in SCOT and this is the log....look at the sections in BOLD to see what happened:

I have also looked at the "conversion rules" in SCOT.....could this be the problem? It seems to want to convert type "SAP" to something.....but there is no "SAP type" in the conversion rules?

Logic docent receive signal from my tascam 1800 but can send signal out

This is my first time using Logic and a mac but im not new to recording. Ive been through every tutorial and i got it to wrk once but i dont remember how. Please help.

Do you have a 13" model? I believe (I could be wrong) that the 2012 13" model only supports line in, no line out. You used to be able to switch the port to in or out but I don't think that feature is available in newer models (again, I could be wrong - I don't have a 13" to test).

Create newsletter with Pages and send out via mail (not attachement)?

I have a question: I have created a newsletter in Iworks Pages. How can I send this out via mail as a newsletter ? So not as an attachment? I know Microsoft Publisher can do it with 1 click, but I don't want to move to MSFT. Please let me know, I also have Indesign etc. Createion of the newsletter is easy with my Apple, but then it stops....and gets worse the MSFT....

No it is multipage. Can't test for all appliactions but it was both sent and received on my system/Mail as the 3 pages in the document.
In other apps and always if the PDF contain several pages, it will be an attachment : what was rejected by the OP.

Audio out via USB plays briefly , then shuts off

Hi,
I'm running version 10.4.11 on my iMac. I'm sending audio out via usb to an audio device (dac), the audio will play for a while and then just quit. This happens using iTunes or another music player I have on the iMac. This problem is recent, I have been doing this for about a year with no previous problems. Could an OS X update have caused a problem with the usb audio output? Anyone else experiencing this issue? It's become quite aggravating.

Difficulties connecting 2 bnc-2110 signals to the scope

Hi,
maybe someone has encountered the same difficulties...
I have a circuit with DAQmx blocks that generates a waveform and writes it to the buffer.
The outputs channels 0,1 concide with the outputs on the bnc-2110 block.
These outputs are wired with coax to scope channels 1 (x) and 2 (y).
Now when I disconnect 1 cable I see a perfect waveform. But once I connect both cables to the scope
I get only a perfect reading at channel Y. Channel X is corrupted.
When I switch the cables at the bnc-2110 and leave the connection at the scope, still Y is perfect, X is corrupted.
So connecting output channels 0 or 1 to scope channel 1 (x) does not make a difference. X stays corrupted.
The same holds for Y. It stays perfect.
The odd thing is that when I connect scope channel 1 (x) with a waveform generator, and scope channel 2 (y) with
channel out 0 or 1 of the bnc, I get 2 perfect readings. Only thing I can see is that the output of the generator is grounded.
When I reverse this. I get a perfect reading from the bnc at scope channel 2 (y) and again a corrupted signal at scope channel 1 (x)?!
So it seems that I get 2 perfect readings when x from the bnc has been replaced by the function generator.
Both should be grounded. The switch is in position GS (instead of FS). I connected the scope and computer to the same
electrical adapter, to be sure, but still have the impression I have grounding issues...

If no, could you be a little bit more specific when you says DAQmx blocks? Could you say us which hardware you are using and what is your program?

How do I set up LiveRig or TouchOSC with Mainstage 2.2.2? Both apps send signals but none are received by Mainstage and both the ipad 3 (6.1) and macbook pro (10.7.5) see each other via WIFI?

I agree anti-relay can be using UBE feature. However, there is serious problem in reject the spam mail. My nms is using UBE feature to stop spam mail. According to the work flow of the UBE, the mail is received by nms completely and UBE is going to invesgate the mail address. Although UBE can stop the spam mail, the spam mail have a trouble in returning the mail to the sender. The reason is the sender address is usually not existed in the world. That will cause a lot of mail waiting in the mail queue.
In my experience, do not use UBE for anti-relay.

How do I read in a 1 Hz pwr level file and send it out at 1Hz to the signal generator?

I would like to be able to read in a 1 Hz file and use the format into string and send it out at 1 Hz to a signal generator to vary the levels to match a timestamp. I was trying to use the format into string but I can't figure out how I could read in this file.

If the file is a .csv file as you said in your other post, then you should just be able to use Read From Spreadsheet File, making sure to set the delimiter to comma rather than tab. If it's a small file, you can just read in the whole thing, then use a loop with a Wait For Millisecond Multiple node (the metronome) to send the data once every second.
If the file is very large, and you don't want to read it all at once, you can tell the Read From Spreadsheet File node to read only one line at a time. Put the read node and the data sending node in the same While loop, and use a shift register to carry the Mark After Read value from one iteration into the Offset or Mark At Start terminal in the next iteration. That way, you start reading each line at the end of the previous one. Use some form of flow control (such as a Stacked Sequence Structure) to make sure things happen in the right order - read data, wait for the right time, send data.

I tried exactly this but it didn't work. I was able to get to the TV out and set it but no video came out. I have an iPhone 4 with IOS 6 and bought the cables from Apple. Any other ideas? I can plug a vcr or dvd into the same video inputs on the tv and that works fine.

Output of BNC-2110

Hi.
I am trying to generate an analog output to the BNC-2110 via graphical programming. How do I do it?
Also, may I know if it is possible to convert this output into PWM before I output to the BNC-2110?

By itself, the BNC-2110 is not capable of inputing or outputing any type of signal. It is just a dumb terminal block. You have to have it connected to an actual data acquisition board in your system. There are many shipping example for various types of data acquitisiton boards. The recomended api is something called DAQmx. Go the Hlpe>Find Examples and expand the Hardware Input and Output section.
PWM is possible with some boards. You'll hve to find out the type in your system.
