Send SMS from SAP WAS

Hello,
I am not sure where to start since my understanding is quite limited in this area. I have a requirement to send SMS type messages to customer cell phones with a message generated from within ERP. I have done this inthe past by sending an email in the form "phoneNumber@somedomain" However, this case is differnt since like a true moblile-to-mobile message I will not know the domain/provider. Only the phone number will be known. Is there some web service that can be called that routes the message to the correct phone? Is this a web business that we will need to subscribe to? If so, can someonw share some options? Am I way off base?

Purpose
The kernel of the SAP Web Application Server supports HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol). This enables text messages (pager/SMS) to be sent directly to external text message servers, or to the provider packed, as a URL, such as http://sms-provider.com/

there is a standard webservice globally available called Send SMS and you can consume that webservice with the help of CAF and you can send PO number as SMS, If the standard webservice do not work then you have to create your own webservice to fulfill the functionality.

SCOT does indeed send mails, but if your mailserver is capable to send SMS , then scot can help you via smtp, another option is to use http :

Sending SMS from SAP

Hi Experts,
I have requirement where i need to send SMS to the client whenever their request has been responded.
For Ex: If the user requesting for some upgrade from the current Plan of their mobile.(From Prepaid to Postpaid)
if request has been responded they should be intimated through SMS from SAP.
Is there any interface for that?

Actually i do not have idea on this. But i got the below information from one of the web site related to SAP. It may helpful to you.
You could create dataset in application server with
certain format, ex. : Hp-id Message ( 9999-999999Hello ),
then you could use external command via FM
RSPX_COMMAND_EXECUTE to execute the external command.
The external command we used was Unix external command.
This external command will take the dataset data you
created and send the SMS.
Cooperate with your Basis expert.

If I want to configure the sending of sms from SAP, I´ve to declare the NODE with HTTP? Or can to setup as SMTP?

Error while sending mail from SAP

Hello All,
Recently we are facing an error while sending mail from SAP. When we try to compose a message ,it is moving to a dump error RAISE_EXCEPTION.
The details from ST22,
Short text
    Exception condition "FOLDER_NOT_EXIST" raised.
Error analysis
    A RAISE statement in the program "SA
    condition "FOLDER_NOT_EXIST".
    Since the exception was not intercep
    program, processing was terminated.

Actually, I performed the following two steps in order to solve the issue:
- In transaction SICF, the node for SAPConnect must be active. In our system, this node was in inactive state. Hence I activated it.
- Then In transaction SCOT-> Settings menu--> default domain should be 'xyz.com' if the email addresses in your company are maintained with a suffix xyz.com.
But for me the problem didnt get solved here..
The problem that i am facing now is that if in my user profile, I have the email address maintained, then i get an error saying 'Sender address rejected'. However, if i goto transaction SU01 and clear the email id, the mail is successfully sent to outer world.
You can try the above mentioned two steps using SICF and SCOT. If the problem does not get solved then try clearing the mail id in ur user profile.

Hello Experts,
I am blocked by the below problem.
I am trying to send email from SAP to an external email ID. I have tried using Class approach as well as the function 'SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1' for the same.
Everytime i get the following message:
Internal error: CL_SMTP_RESPONSE ESMTP error code is not known. 554 554 <email address> Sender address rejected.
I am not at all able to figure out why this type of error is coming.
The same code is working on the development environment but not on the test system.
Please reply back asap as i am completely blocked due to this.

Message SR 053 when i send idoc from SAp R/3 4.6C to PI 7

I try to send idoc from SAP r/3 4.6C to PI 7. I had made ALE configuration in my sender system ( SAP 4.6C) but idocs are not sent to PI. In SM58 i have message "Name or password is incorrect (repeat logon)". Yet i'm sure that user and password are correct because if i test RFC destination using SM59 , test is OK.

In R/3 :
my RFC destination is type 3 and point to XI. The port in the partner profile point to this RFC destination. ( all seems good !).
In Xi : i created a port and i load manually idoc in idx2 to be sure that RFC destination was OK. Nothing in IDX5.
When i send idoc MATMAS using BD10 from R3 to Xi i have something very strange: first the message B1 038 "1 master IDocs set up for message type MATMAS" and just after
the XI logon screen appears !! Then message "1 communication IDoc(s) generated for message type MATMAS" and this idoc stay in SM58 with message "Name or password is incorrect (repeat logon)".
Somebody can give me requires caracteristics for XI user used in R/3 RFC destination ?

Configuring SAP 4.6x Internet mail Gateway
SAP can be configured to send and receive emails from different sources.This section explains how to integrate SAPOffice with an external emailsystem. Your Internet email must be configured and running prior to this.Email from SAP is forwarded to the users external email system..
You can configure inbound and outbound forwarding. Outbound flow forwardsa SAP message (eg: update termination) via UNIX sendmail to the intended recepient. Inbound accepts a message from sendmail and places it in the users SAPOffice inbox. Many companies prefer to configure outbound only.
Configuring outbound forwarding

Testing whether your configuration is successful
1. Logon to SAP
2. Execute transaction SO01
3. Write a message and send it to <your_internet_email_address>
4. If you don't see the mail in your internet mailbox, go back and review steps 1-12
Schedule the SAP Internet Mail Gateway Jobs to start every 5 minutes

3. Click Schedule and supply the date and time
4. Click Schedule periodically and tick Minutes and type in 5
5. Click Create and you are done

Problems that you might encounter :-
If you have set up a node in SCOT and it tests out well but recieve the reply.
"Cannot process message in node, parameterscannot be converted".
Make sure the RFC connection is working, and that SapConnect has been installed on the Unix Server or the Microsoft Exchange Server. Originally, I had the same error, and found that nothing had been installed on Unixor Exchange, to support SapConnect.
In SCOT (View -> System Status), your mail remains at the Intransit column.
Check you sendmail.cf files (e.g.Sun Solaris /etc/mail/sendmail.cf). Try using the sendmail command to send a test file at the Unix level. You must be able to send mail at theUnix level before you can send mail at the SAP level.

Cannot Send Email from SAP Business One

Hi Experts
I have configured SAP Email Services from the Mailer Service and Customer can send emails all the while,
Now I have an Issue for One User,
Iam using the Same Machine, Same Database with Manager Login, I can send Email from SAP with Attachments
But When I use another Super user the system is not delivering the Email and it Goes to the Sent box (but not delivered)
Have anyone encountered the Issue before

If the email can be found in Sent box, it must be delivered already.
The problem could be on the email recipient side. It may go to the junk mail.

Is it possible to send mail from SAP to External user??????if possible does BASIS people had to do something???
I want to send the email from sap to external user([email protected]).My mail will consist of some changes made in production order(CO03). for which i had created the BADI. That part is over now i want to send the mail.
I got many sample programs in sdn but when i enter the email address it execute but mail is not sent.....I want to know by just executing Zprogram mail will be sent or there is some role for BASIS also..............
