Sending an sms message from your PC can be done in many ways. Firstly this can be send via email, simply type in the to field the number followed by the gateway. for example, [email protected] There are also a number of websites that allows you to do this simple search google for "send text message" and will see a list. The one I use is [http://www.wetextfree.com] it works and its free. Hope this helps you.

  • How do i send sms messages from my mac to a phone

    the gurl from apple said i could send sms messages from my imac to a phone. How do i di that?

    Hi Lanny,
    Actually those two pics don't tell you what you need to know.
    The First is correct as it can be from the Messages app but the second goes to no way to tell you how to do and b fact does not even mention SMS messages.
    @ 10411
    You will need to have an AIM or AIM Valid name that you can add to the Messages > Preferences > Accounts at the + icon below the list.
    Next the Mac need to be in the United States.
    Go to System Preferences > Language and Text and set the Region to the Untied States.
    (In iChat this added SMS items to some of the Menus in iChat)
    The iPhone has to be on a Carrier that is in the United States   See list
    Which in turn means the phone number is a United States one (+1 country code)
    This means you add the Cell/mobile number as if it were a Buddy to an AIM list.
    So Creating an Address Card for "SMS Test" and adding the mock number +1234567890 to that I get this in Messages  (Mousing over the Name to see the "Screen Name" which is the number in this case)
    Basically this is a feature that iChat has always had since AIM included a link to SMS to certain Phones.
    Messages does everything iChat did/does and this includes SMS Messaging via an AIM Buddy list even though in this case the Menu items has disappeared.
    AS has been said there are also other methods.

    The example will not help you
    because the url that we generate we take it from the sms provider ( or the mobile service company )
    so its will not work with you.
    I mean if you want to send sms there is no standard way
    because its depend on the sms provider ( or the mobile service company )
    because every provider have different way>
    So the sms provider must tell you how to generate that URL or what is the a webservice
    that will send the sms.
    Thanks

  • Why can't I send sms messages from my iPad anymore?

    on one of the updates Apple did they changed it to where sms messages (green bubbles) could be sent from an iPad. I had done it several times however now when I try it the contact shows up in red and it won't let me send anything!

    You will have to be a lot more specific about the issue you are having if you expect to get any help.  What exactly is happening?

  • Send and Receive SMS messages from US to South Kor...

    I want to be able to receive and send SMS messages from my skype to my friend's cell phone in Korea
    When I send it they receive it, but they can't respond it back to me because it is an international text.
    Is there anyway that I can buy a Korean online number when I'm living in US?
    and with that number will I be able to talk and send/receive messages with my friend?

    @ sberman -Hi-I have my settings as you described and I do have a text msg. plan with At&T. I'm still puzzled, however; I had the same plan with he former phone-the ancient 3Gs and with it, I was able to send/receive text, photos, etc. to non-Iphone users via WiFi as long as I was home and within distance of the connection. I did not have to have my cell data "on" in order to send/receive anything. Everything transmitted through WiFi-and did not impact my  charges or cell data limits.. I know I must use the cell data ON when I'm away, but don't understand why/how I can't do the same as before I upgraded to the 5c. Admittedly, I am certainly NOT in the stratospheric league as so many phone experts here-I do make the attempt to understand, though..
    I read on one of the numerous help/answer sites that apparently someone else had registered the same complaint with Apple and now has a pending lawsuit-and hoping to get class-action status on the issue. I'm fairly sure this is the same-although I cannot be 100% certain given my lack of expertise.
    I certainly appreciate your rapid response-as a newbie to these communities, I didn't expect any answers to my questions so quickly.Thanks for taking the time to post-have a great weekend.

  • Problem sending a SMS message from mobile phone t809

    Hello!
    I am trying to send a SMS message from my cell phone. This is Samsung t809 phone with CLDC 1.1 and MIDP 2.0
    The code that I am using is next:
    MessageConnection smsconn = null;
    try
    smsconn = ( MessageConnection )Connector.open( "sms://:50000" );
    TextMessage txtMsg = ( TextMessage )smsconn.newMessage( MessageConnection.TEXT_MESSAGE );
    txtMsg.setAddress( "sms://18885552233" );
    txtMsg.setPayloadText( "Hello SMS!" );
    smsconn.send( txtMsg );
    catch( Exception e )
    e.printStackTrace();
    System.out.println( e.getMessage() );
    form_main.append( "\nError occured!" );
    if( smsconn != null )
    try
    smsconn.close();
    catch( IOException e )
    e.printStackTrace();
    System.out.println( e.getMessage() );
    Seems like on cell phone I have an exception because I can see the line "Error occured!"
    I have no idea why... :(
    Will appreciate any help and comments.

    hello,
    when you use smsconn = ( MessageConnection )Connector.open( "sms://:50000" ); it means that you are trying to connect to a sms server. So if you don't have a sms server on your computer, an exception is thrown !
    if you just wanna test sms sending, put the phone number in the string like this
    smsconn = ( MessageConnection )Connector.open( "sms://123456789" );<b>reference</b>:

  • Send short message from Java application on mobile phone to server; http

    Hello!
    My question is: can I send short message from Java application on mobile phone to server - with the use of SMS (WMA) or http connection?

  • Sending message from code to mobile

    Hello Friends,
    When in my ABAP source code some given condition occurs , then it should
    send some message from code to my cell phone.
    Can it's possible?
    if you have an answear of my question plz give reply ASAP.
    Right answear will be rewarded with  maximum points.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Gaurav Tyagi.

    Sure this is possible, its just like sending an email.  The texting in cell phones is nothing more than an email address,  usually  the cell phone number followed by the @ and the domain name.   So you must find out want the @ part is for your service.  Your provider should know this, give them a call or check there website.  For example, mine is  @vtext.com for verison.    Then use this program to send a message to it.
    report zrich_0003 .
    data: maildata type sodocchgi1.
    data: mailtxt  type table of solisti1 with header line.
    data: mailrec  type table of somlrec90 with header line.

      refresh:  mailtxt, mailrec.

  • Can't send audio messages from Nokia E63 to email ...

    I used to send audio messages from my mobile to my friend's email, and it worked fine.
    But some days ago it stopped working. I keep on seeing this whenever I try to send audio message.
    "In order to send/download MM messages, the current active connection may be closed (this may affect other applications in use). Do you want to continue ?"
    When I disconnected connection, it fails to send again. I saw this message:
    "Multimedia message cannot be sent. Packet data connection not available"
    It is impossible for me to send the audio message if I close the connection because I'm not having internet in my phone.
    I have been using packet data connection to send all the messages to email all the time and it went OK. I got that problem just a few days ago and I cannot send any audio messages now.
    I can still send normal emails (non-audio message) from my phone through packet data connection though.
    The problem is only when sending the audio message.
    I'm using Nokia E63 and I'm in the UAE.
    My mobile provider is "Du".
    I use packet data connection from "MyWorld"
    I don't have any other packet data connections. I had many but now, MyWorld is the only one in my phone.
    Please help me how can I do it.

    Automatic configuration.
    Your mobile will be automatically configured to access the MyWorld mobile portal when you first join du.
    You will receive an SMS message, which you should accept and save.
    You can also request for these settings by sending the following SMS message “du” to 333 or by calling Customer Care on 155.
    Availability of the MyWorld mobile portal and of the relevant settings is dependent on your handset type.
    For more information on MyWorld, call 155 from your mobile or visit us at www.du.ae
    This might do the trick.

  • Cannot SEND SMS messages on 8130

    Here's my story:
    1.  I upgraded to a Blackberry Pearl 8130 in pink earlier this year.      My carrier is Verizon.
    2.  Recently (say a month ago), a friend sent a text message to me from her new phone.  I attempted to text her back, but received a big fat red X indicating that my message did not go through.  Specifically, when I open my message, the error says, "Mobile equipment status failed."
    3.  I went to Verizon.  They did something where I think they took me off the network and then put me back on.  This did nothing.  She wanted to do a hard set on the phone, but I had not backed up my data yet.
    4.  I went home and backed up my data and went back to Verizone about a week later.  I spend over an hour in the store.  The gentleman that was helping me was on the phone with someone (presumably technical support) to no avail.  He was ready to order me a replacement phone, but after further discussion with tech support, they thought there was an issue with the network, not my phone.  I went home with a case number.
    5.  The very next day Verizon called me.  They indicated that it wasn't a network issue and that it was my phone.  They were going to send me a replacement.
    6.  I received my replacement phone a couple of days later.  I was anxious to get it set up, but the results have been the same.    I have not yet returned to Verizon.  I thought I'd try here first to see if anyone had any ideas.
    The bottom line:
    I CAN send/receive e-mails.
    I CAN send a MMS message.
    I CAN receive SMS messages.
    I CANNOT send SMS messages.
    Thank you for any advice you may have.
    -Sandra
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Two months later and I finally ..yes FINALLY figured out the SMS issue I previously mentioned on my own out of sheer frustration. I have a Pearl 8130. First ..thanks to everyone for the previous suggestions for resolution here on this board, Google and other areas I've searched many times over however ..none of the suggetions or options worked ..ie, battery pull, *228, calling Alltel tech support many times, going to the Alltel store etc.. you name it I tried it. Guess what? And this is for anyone else who may have had the same problem.. sad to say it was a very simple change in the settings that resolved the "X SMS error 0, Message ID 99"  response on every single text (sms) I tried to send.
    1.) Click the Call Log icon
    2.) Select the menu button (immediate right of the track ball)
    3.) Select Options - this will give you a list that begins with "General Options" ..etc
    From this list..
    4.) Select Smart Dialing
    From here you will see an option for "Use "1" for National Dialing"
    If it on the default setting of "no" change it to "yes"
    Save your selection as normal and you should be good to go.
    The funny thing in all of this ..I was recently in Southern California (I live in Arizona) and while there I had absolutely no trouble whatsoever sending or receiving. Upon my return to AZ the problem resurfaced and I have to admit that after 7yrs with Alltel (soon to be Verizon) I am truly disappointed with tech support for the very first time. A simple default setting needed to be changed ~sigh~
    Hope this works for anyone else who is having issues ..specifically Alltel/Verizon.

  • Is there a way to send a message from Mail to an iPhone's Messages?

    Is there a way to send a message from Mail to an iPhones Messages?

    "Send an SMS text message
    You can use iChat to send an SMS (short message service) text message to a buddy’s iPhone or other mobile phone from an AIM, Mac.com, or me.com account.
    Note: SMS messaging is available in the U.S. only.
    Choose File > New SMS.
    In the To field, type your buddy’s phone number, and then click Chat.
    In the chat window, type a message and press Return.If your buddy’s phone is set up to receive text messages, you see a reply telling you that the message has been sent. If your buddy replies, the reply appears in the chat window.
    To receive text messages, your buddy’s phone must be SMS enabled."

  • Cannot send an email from my alias Mobile Me account from the iPhone.

    I have a Mobile Me email account which works perfectly on my Mac and iPhone. I created a an Alias Mobile Me Account on the web.
    I am able to create a new email from the alias account on the Mac.
    The iPhone will not recognize the alias account, I cannot add it or sync the account.
    I cannot send an email from my alias Mobile Me account from the iPhone.

    To all frustrated MobileMe alias owners who want to send email from iPhone - please go to the feedback area of the apple.com and leave messages regarding this issue. I had a lengthy conversation with a tech support guy who agreed that this is a needed fix - he said to initiate a grass roots effort - and that by all of us leaving messages it will eventually get attention and fixed. Why would Apple give us the ability to create alias's, use them on mobileme website, on our mac mail programs, but NOT the iPhone, which is the MOBILE device. Silly. Please protest!! Thanks.

  • Using iMessage 8.0 with Mavericks to send sms message to my friend who has an iPhone.  Only allows me to log in under AIM, YAHOO, GOOGLE, or BONJOUR.  I don't want to do any of that.  Just my phone number.  Is this possible?

    Using iMessage 8.0 with Mavericks to send sms message to my friend who has an iPhone.  Only allows me to log in under AIM, YAHOO, GOOGLE, or BONJOUR.  I don't want to do any of that.  Just my phone number.  Is this possible?

    Hi,
    The first run of Messages will ask you to enter an Apple ID to "register' with iMessages.
    If you do not do this but open the App and look in Preferences > Accounts then you will see the iMessages account and the Bonjour Account which will not be activated.
    Neither of these two account can be deleted. (even if not being used)
    If you then press the + icon to add you will get the choices you posted.
    To iMessage you need to "register" and Apple ID with the iMessages service.
    As Diane then points out you can link this to your iPhone number.
    This "syncs" (Displays on all devices) the various iMessages sent to either iPhone or Apple ID
    You can then chose  on both iPhone or Mac version how or which ID/Number is going to be used to "Start the conversations from"
    I have my Mac version set to start from my Apple ID and the iPhone from it's number.
    At this moment the Mac version cannot send SMS text messages to an iPhone.
    This is apparently coming with iOS 8 and OS 10.10 (Yosemite)
    An AIM account can send SMS Messages but only to a limited number of USA based phone users on these carriers.
    (Basically you add a phone number with country code +1 as a Buddy to your List)
    Mocked up number  (It not really an auto responder although you do get sent back and Error message about it not being valid)
