Send staple command to printer when printing pdf's?

Is there a way to send a command to a printer to staple the pages of a report?  In this case, I loop thru a number of Access reports and create pdf's.  I then put these pdf's into groups and send the groups to the printer.  I'd like to staple
the groups after printing.
The printer is a Xerox 4110.
Thanks.

Hi emcustom,
I think you should contact the manufacturer for what command to send to the printer to staple the pages. For how to send commands to the printers, posting in VBA forum is better.

Are there any command line options to perform this conversion?

  • Safari's responsiveness to scrolling commands very poor when displaying pdf files.

Safari is lagging terribly when trying to scroll PDF files.  This makes scrolling a PDF file very difficult using two-finger scroll commands on the trackpad.  Scrolling works quite well for everything else, so it is obvious the problem is being caused by Safari and is unique to PDF files.

  • Sending escape sequences to control command line printing

    Hello Java Community,
I am interested in printing PDF files programatically by using a thread that used the runtime environment and the sending a command to print the file.
I hava managed to print files directly to the printer using "cmd /c acrord32.exe /h /p filename.pdf" thanks to iText FAQ.
The problem is that when I try sending the job to an Epson LX 300 printer, the job prints in letter quality while my intention is to print in draft mode.
I imagine that this problem could be resolved by passing escape sequences to set draft mode printing programatically so as to speed up my printing.
Anyone who can help me on how to achieve this.
    Will appreciate your help.
    Charles

  • Safari Quits when printing pdf from browser

When ever I download a pdf and then print it form Safari, Safari crashes and kernel panics, I send the report to apple but this has not been fixed. I have Safari 2.0.4 and Mac os x 10.4.10 Any ideas or know of a patch that apple might release? Let me know.

I've been having this problem since I installed Safari 3.0.3. And not just trying to print PDFs. Anytime I click on a "Print" link/button from within a web site. The only contents of the folder you mention is a Macromedia folder. Here is the report I got on my last crash:

  • Text missing when printing PDF

We're having a problem with printing PDFs to our networked large format Canon ipf8000 printer from our Mac Pros. We have two Mac Pros, both are having the same problem. When printing a PDF through Acrobat Pro that we have created using either from Adobe Illustrator or Adobe InDesign, that contains live text information (font's are embedded as the applications do this by default when saving a PDF), none of the text will print. All graphics and images will print but text will not.
This initially started off as an issue where the printer would print some characters incorrectly, then this progressed to printing complete gobbledygook, to not printing any text at all.
We had thought that it may be a printer driver problem, but we recently just bought a new printer (same model, just an updated version ipf8300), and installed the new drivers for it and this issue still occurs on this machine.
Converting the text to outline before saving the PDF and sending it to print is the only solution we have found so far to get the text to print.
I have tried printing the same document from a PC, again using Acrobat Pro, and it has gone through completely fine, all text is present and correct, which leads us to believe it is a Mac related issue and not a printer related one.
Has anyone else experienced this or know of a fix for the problem, other than what we are doing currently?

  • Reader 10.1.4. Printing PDF by command line

    Hi
In an application I have developed I print PDF files to a defined printer using command line, such as
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\acrord32.exe" /N /T "myPDFfile.pdf" "\\servername\printername"
I have noticed a change of behaviour with Reader 10.1.4 to previous versions.
To test locally I share a local printer (e.g. share name "bobsprinter") connected to my machine ("bobsmachine") and include it in the command line as follows
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\acrord32.exe" /N /T "myPDFfile.pdf" "\\bobsmachine\bobsprinter"
I have noticed that with Reader 10.1.4 a print job is no longer submitted, unless I take out the machine name and just leave in the shared printer name:
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10.0\Reader\acrord32.exe" /N /T "myPDFfile.pdf" "bobsprinter"
    Where it then works OK.
Question: Why would there be this change of behaviour in 10.1.4? Is there anything I need to consider? I have not come across anything in the release notes.
I have noted that on my customer's site my command line (with machien and printer name) still works OK with 10.1.4. Maybe because the shared printer is on another network?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi Bob,
Thanks for reporting the problem faced by you. My investigations suggest that command line printing behavior between Reader 10.1.3 and 10.1.4 is still the same.
It prints the document on Reader 10.1.3 and 10.1.4 only when you do not specify the servername(localhost) on command line. However, It prints both with/without using the servername when Acrobat is used.
    Thanks,

  • Why are my book pages enlarged when I send them to be printed?

I have created a 40-some page iPhoto book that looks fine when I scan the pages prior to sending it to be printed. However, I get an email from Apple saying that the book is unreadable or unprintable. Upon looking at the PDF version of the book, I see that each page has been slightly enlarged, so that part of the image is not shown because it is outside the boundaries of the page. I assume that is why it is unprintable. I am trying to print a 13" by 10" hardcover book using iPhoto 11. Each of my pages is a single jpeg containing multiple photos (which I have assembled in Photoshop Elements) and each jpeg is 13 by 10 in Photoshop Elements.
One more thing: on my final scan of the pages, prior to sending the book to the printer, I usually find one or two pages that have automatically been slightly increased from from the minimum size. Each time, I have manually set such pages back to minimum size.
Can anyone suggest a fix for this problem?

That's due to the bleed settings for the pages.  You can edit the iPhoto preferences with Pref Setter to change the bleed amount or turn it off entirely.

  • How to print pdf's direct to default printer by command line

I want to direct print pdf's to the default printer by command line.
    this work's with:
    C:\Programme\Adobe\Reader 11.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe /n /s /h /t test.pdf
But at the end, when printing was done. Adobe does not close automatically.
Is there an opportunity to automatically close adobe after printing?

No, Adobe stopped that happening many releases ago, for reasons that I don't understand but they will not change.

  • Unable to print pdf, print command goes to save screen after installing acrobat reader X update

I have Dell Inspiron and brother MFC 7345N printer. Pdf printing was fine until I installed adobe reader security update this morning.  Now I cannot print pdf. When I select print command and enter specification, the try to print, I am routed to the save document screen instead of printing any pdf document. I've already restarted computer and printer and it is a new Dell with windows 7. All was working fine until adobe update screwed everything up. what can I do? Can I reset my computer to an earlier time before installing this update?

In the preferences disable the entry 'Print to File'.

  • How can I save to the same map every time when printing pdfs?

How can I save to the same map every time when printing pdfs?
Finder points to the document map even when I chose a different map recently.
I often print series of pdfs from the print dialog box, I'd like to choose the map to save to and then have all subsequent pdf prints automatically directed to the same map until I decide otherwise.

that link seems to be broken right now:

  • Windows Server 2008R2 running Remote Desktop Services reports printer process does not exist when installing PDF printer

Windows Server 2008R2 running Remote Desktop Services reports printer process does not exist when installing PDF printer, And when Installing network printers from the domain controller it reports it cannot connect to printer.  I can ping all
network devices. I can connect to the internet.
On boot I get a netlogon 5719 error followed by service control manager errors 7023,7001 and a group policy error 1129.
Clients can connect to the remote application and RDP operates to connect to the server internally and externally.
The domain controller is another server 2008r2 box. I have scoured the internet but have not found any solutions that work yet.

    Hi,
After referring to your post, it can be identified that the issue which you are facing is mostly due to some network issue in your environment. Please recheck your network connection issue between computer and domain controller.
Can you able to ping with IP address and also with fully qualified name of a domain controller in the users' and computers' domain. If it fails states that name resolution issue with computer and domain controller. Are you using MS DHCP Relay agent then there’s
available Hotfix for the particular Event ID. Please go through this KB 2459530 to fix the error event ID.
As per the net logon error 5719 which you are facing states that the client component of Netlogon was unable to locate a DC for the domain it was trying to perform an operation against. Below is one of the reason. If this is being logged on a DC and the event
refers to the DC's own domain, something might be preventing the client component of Netlogon from starting a network session (to itself or to another DC in the domain). The following event 7001 & 7023 states start & stop operation service. Please
go through beneath article for more details.
    1.  Event ID 5719 is logged when you start a computer
    2.  Netlogon 5719 and the Disappearing Domain [Controller]
    3.  Event ID 1129 — Microsoft-Windows-GroupPolicy
    Hope it helps!

If you use Windows the user that runs the reports server is usually LocalSystem. Check this in the Windows Services panel.
LocalSystem has no printer access. To be able to print, you have to use a real domain user that has access to the printer. So, change the Log on properties in the Services panel.

  • How to print pdf file in SQL Server Reporting services report using command prompt?

Is there a way to automatically print a SQL Server Reporting services report on command prompt? For eg: We can save a pdf file using rs.exe utility. I want to print a pdf using rs.exe utility. Is it possible? I don't want to install any 3rd party software.

Thanks Simon for replying to my question.
In oracle form, there is oracle command to print the report from command prompt with the help of rwrun.exe
    e.g: rwrun.exe   REPORT="D:\Test\REP_25\MLA.REP" DESNAME="testprinter" DESTYPE="PRINTER" P_FORMNAME="MLA.FMX" P_SPRACHE="E" P_SPRACHE_NR2="1" P_WHERE_BEDINGUNG="order by land_nr" USERID="test/test.world" PSV_NAME="PSV_DEMO" PSV_JOB_ID="PS$9583" RECURSIVE_LOAD="NO"
    BATCH="YES" NONBLOCKSQL="NO" ARRAYSIZE="1" PARAMFORM="NO" ERRFILE="c:\temp\psv16.tmp"<
and to save the report we just need to change DESNAME="c:\temp\OC_100001349.pdf" DESTYPE="FILE" in above command instead of DESNAME="testprinter" DESTYPE="PRINTER".
DESNAME and DESTYPE are the input parameters of the respective report.
In SSRS, we can run the file from the command prompt and save it.
    rs -i "C:\Users\pujarswa\Documents\reports\new\LoadReport.rss" -s ww2004760:80/ReportServer_MSSQL -v fileName="C:\Users\pujarswa\Desktop\TipsReportLoad.pdf"
    -v reportPath="/TipsReport/LoadListTabular" -t -v format="PDF" -v LandNr=4 -u ap\swati -p test@# -e Exec2005
But we cannot use same command for printing as you said we need to create another script for printing files.
I have gone through the links but I dont want to use Adobe Acrobat Reader exe for printing because client it may not have Adobe Acrobat Reader on their machine.
Also I want to pass a input parameter as type="Printer" to my report which will print directly for me and same I can acheive in command prompt passing type="Printer" fileName="C:\Users\pujarswa\Desktop\TipsReportLoad.pdf"
