Sender IDOC adapter for SAP 3.1H system & XI 7.0

We are on XI 7.0 and XI would receive a IDOC message from SAP 3.1H system.
I need to import IDOC's in imported objects in integration repository but I cannot see any IDOC under the IDOC node. I am able to see the RFC's. Do we need to do extra steps with SAP 3.1H version for IDOC adapter?
Thanks in advance for help!

  • Sending IDoc Batches to SAP: Issue with Header Mapping for SNDPRN

We are sending batched IDocs from XI to SAP. We need the individual IDocs to reflect different SNDPRN values. Our mapping creates the different IDoc EDI_DC40 record correctly with different SNDPRN values. However, XI wipes out the SNDPRN values in the payload. When we define Header mapping to get the Sender Party as the XPath to the SNDPRN in the payload, then the header mapping errors out because the XPath returns multiple values.
I wanted to know if anyone has successfully implemented sending IDoc batches to SAP from XI with different SNDPRN values.
    Your feedback is appreciated.

    Hello,
I have the same problem. I want XI send an IDOC with the SNDPOR, SNDPRT and the SNDPRN that are in the EDIDC40.
    <u><b>I find this in sap.help : </b></u>
    <i>Mapping
The IDoc adapter does not make any special demands on mapping. The IDoc adapter must simply be provided with an IDoc XML structure at the Integration Server outbound channel. This either already exists or must be generated by using a mapping.
If the IDoc XML structure contains a control record, it is deleted and created again by the IDoc adapter. If you want to include additional values in the control record, you must select the Apply Control Record Values from Payload checkbox in the parameters in the communication channel and provide a corresponding mapping for the values.
You can include the values from the following fields in your IDoc control record:
    MESCOD, MESFCT
    TEST
    EXPRESS
    STD, STDVRS, STDMES
    SNDSAD, SNDLAD
    RCVSAD, RCVLAD
    REFINT, REFGRP, REFMES</i>

Perhaps we must use party configuration but I don't know how do this !

  • Send idoc to external sap system

    hi all,
is it possible to send IDoc to a sap system which is not in the same network with XI? If yes, is there any special points that should be taken care?

    HI Hui
It is possible. But it is IDOC to IDOC Scenario.
Check these below SAP contribution docs on Idoc-Idoc scenario:

  • Why do we require Receiver IDoc Adapter wen Sender IDoc Adapter is not req?

    Hi All,
We require Receiver IDoc Adapter( if the receiving System is R/3 and uses IDoc) but when sending BS uses IDoc, Sender IDoc Adapter is not required since it resides in ABAP  Stack. So, can anyone explain me as why do we need to configure Receiver IDoc adapter?

    Hi,
Both the sender and receiver IDoc transmission is done by the RFC communication channel.
In case of the sender IDoc, partner profile configuration in the sender system will tell for a particular IDoc type which port should be used. This port will have the details of the RFC channel to be used to deliver the IDoc.
However, in case of SAP XI/PI system we don't configure partner profile and hence we need a way to tell which port & RFC destination should be used to deliver the IDoc and hence we define a receiver aggrement and adapter. This is just used as a reference at rutime and unlike the other adapter, this receiver IDoc adapter doe's not process any message over Adapter engine.
    Hope this helps...!!!!

  • Assignment IDX1 port to sender idoc adapter ...

    Hi gurus,
I have a big problem and I don't have any idea how to solve it. Please, help me.
I have a non-SAP system, regular SAP ERP and SAP XI and I need to transfer IDocs between them.
There is no problem to send IDoc from ERP to XI and forward it to non-SAP system. Unfortunatelly communication in opposite direction doesn't work. XI is not able to receive IDoc sent from non-SAP system because appropriate metadata can not be found in IDX2 cache.
In configuration of communication channel for sending IDocs to non-SAP (receiver idoc adapter) I selected IDX1 port that is directed to the ERP and it's worknig fine. I can send IDoc from XI to non-SAP.
But in configuration of communication channel for receiving IDocs from non-SAP (sender idoc adapter) is not possibility to determine any port. Does exist a way how to force sender idoc adapter to use some specific IDX1 port?
Thank you in advance for every reply!
    Regards,
    Zbynek

The IDocs are sent from non-SAP system by means of tRFC. Connection type of the RFC destination is type T (TCP/IP) and activation type is Registered Server Program.
If we sent the IDoc directly into SAP ERP (where the IDoc Type is known) everything is fine

  • Why no sender idoc adapter .

    hi,
while configuring idoc to file ......... why we are not using sender communication channel or configuring sender idoc adapter ..............
    thanks in advance,
    jp.

The main use of a sender adapter is to convert the input format into an XI supported XML format. Once this is done, the sender agreement appends the header with the sender details. In the case of IDoc adapter, you would not require a sender agrrement or a sender channel for the following reasons
    1. The adapter resides on ABAP stack hence the integration server takes care of the IDoc to XML conversion without requirement for adapter.
    2. The business system that is sending the adapter has already been assigned to a technical system which normally acts as an Integration server.
    3. In the system, you fill in the adapter specific identifiers where you define under the IDoc adapter, the Logical system name and the R/3 client and the number.

  • Configuring iWay Siebel  Sender/Receiver adapter in SAP XI.

    Hi,
I am evaluating iWay Siebel Adapter for connection between Siebel system and SAP system. I am using both the sender and receiver iWay adapter for both inbound and outbound scenario.
In both the case the transport protocol used is HTTP. I searched a lot but could not find a document which explains the different parameter in the Communication channel for both sender and receiver adapter.
Please let me know if you have some document regarding the same. Also in my present scenario I don't have access to Siebel system so I am using a HTTP client to simulate a Siebel system.
I want to know what should I use in the Listener port in the Sender CC and how to send message using this port from a Local HTTP Client.

  • What is Ale, Edi,IDoc tech for sap

    Hi all,
What is Ale, Edi,IDoc tech for sap?
    Thanks.

    hi deniz,
    <b>ALE</b>
    ALE
    Triggering OB via Change Pointers:
When an application make a changes in any object an entry is made in CDHDR and CDPOS tables. When any change is made the SMD(Shared Master Data) Tool checks that ALE setting and create a change pointer in the BDCP table that will point to CDHDR table. A standard program RBDMIDOC is scheduled to run on a periodic basis to evaluate the change pointers for a message type and start the ALE process to distribute to the appropriate destinations. The program will read the table TBDME to determine the IDoc selection program it is MASTERIDOC_CREATE_SMD_MATMAS in the case of MATMAS.
    Outbound Process:
When the stand-alone program or the Transaction(BD10) is run, it calls the Idoc
Selection program MASTERIDOC_CREATE_REQ_MATCOR in the case of MATMAS, which is hard coded in the program. The Idoc Selection program reads the master data and create a master Idoc and stores it in the memory. The function module then calls ALE layer by using another function module MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE which is invoked inside it. Then Idoc filtering, Segment filtering etc.. are done in the ALE layer.
To dispatch the Idoc to the destination system, the system reads the partner profile to determine the destination system. Then the sending system calls the function module INBOUND_IDOC_PROCESS asynchronously on the remote system and passes the Idoc via memory buffer.
    Asynchronous Communication:
The data  that is IDocs and the function module are  stored in ARFCDATA and ARFCSSTATE tables. The function module ARFC_DEST_SHIP will transports data to target System and the program ARFC_EXCUTE will execute the stored function Module. If communication problem occurs RSARFCSE program is automatically scheduled., if successful, entries in the tables ARFCSSTATE and ARFCDATA will be deleted.
    Inbound Process:
The INBOUND_IDOC_PROCESS program is triggered as a result of RFC from the Sending System, the Idoc to be sent is passed as parameter for the function module
In the partner profile if Process immediately is selected then RBDAPP01 program is executed. It will read the process code(MATM) from the Partner profile, which in turn invoke the function module IDOC_INPUT_MATMAS for MATMAS
Function module will call the corresponding SAP transaction using call transaction or uses direct programs to convert the Idoc to Application document .
In the table TBD51 there will be entries to find which option is used.
    Transactions:
SALE - IMG ALE Configuration root
    •     WE20 - Manually maintain partner profiles
    •     BD64 - Maintain customer distribution model
    •     BD71 - Distribute customer distribution model
    •     SM59 - Create RFC Destinations
    •     BDM5 - Consistency check (Transaction scenarios)
    •     BD82 – Generate Partner Profiles

    •     Internet port           - to connect with internet applications
    •     It also depends on the  receiving side. If the receiving subsystem accepts tRFC, EDI also can use tRFC.
Remote Function modules required by Subsystem to send status and inbound idoc to SAP:
Startrfc                                         -   Program to execute RFC – enabled Fun.mod. in SAP
EDI_DATA_INCOMING             -   To send data as inbound
EDI_STATUS_INCOMING         -   To send status to SAP
RSPARAM               -   To know the gateway service of the SAP system.
    Message Control:
    •     Output controller
    •     A service program for determining the output type
    •     To generate and manage various outputs from an application and control their medium and timing of exchange.
    •     To retransmit the document without duplicating it
    Procedure:
    •     A procedure defines a set of possible outputs for an application
    •     There may be more than one procedure but only one can be active
    •     Requirement field in procedure specifies the condition which the sales docu. should reach, for sending the sales order response.
    Output type:
Defines the characteristics and attributes of the output.
    Access Sequence :
Defines  a sequence in which the business rules are checked using condition record of the condition table for proposing output type.

    Upgradation problem
When the old version program is upgraded in to newer version(4.0b &#61664; 4.6c) the SE38 editor won’t allow u get thru’ the programs normally to get rid of this.
    Solution:
EDIT > MODIFICATION OPERATIONS > SWITCH OFF ASSISTANT. Hit Enter on the subsequently shown Warnings window. You should now be able to maintain the code as before.
When transporting the dialog program sometimes the links may be missing in the testing and production area. To overcome just check u have properly save your all includes and other stuff in the same request if not, do so. Other options In ver 4.6c -> Within ABAP editor try utilities/Update navigation index
    this fixes the links

  • Error in XI Sender JDBC adapter for AS/400 DB2

We are trying to connect to AS/400 DB2 from XI's Sender JDBC Adapter. we got the driver from DataDirect (connectjdbc.jar) and configured it within XI .The configuration according to the manual for this jar file is
// Register the driver with the driver manager
    Class.forName("com.ddtek.jdbc.db2.DB2Driver");
    // Establish the Connection
    String url = "jdbc:datadirect:db2://corpserver1:50000;LocationName=ACCTNG";
    Connection con = DriverManager.getConnection(url, "test04", "test04");
In XI we configured this as:
    Driver = com.ddtek.jdbc.db2.DB2Driver
    Connection = jdbc:datadirect:db2://servername;LocationName=NBHAGWAT
and specified the user id and password
<b>Note</b>: The Port Number is optional
When this was done in XI, we got the below error in the Adapter Monitoring:
Sender Adapter v2108 for Party '', Service 'JDBCtoFile':
    Configured at 2006-12-19 15:45:31 MST
    History:
    - 2006-12-19 15:45:31 MST: Retry interval started. Length: 10.000 s

    - 2006-12-19 15:45:31 MST: Processing started
Is this because there is something wrong because the way the connection string is specified.
Anybody who has configured XI Sender JDBC adapter for AS/400 DB2, please send us some information on this.
    Thank you,
    Regards,
    Balaji

It looks like your JDBC driver is not found. Have you deployed the driver to XI?
