Senders to my Email get "Over Quota" message

Suspect "over quota" message senders are getting is a function of icloud backup. How to get email working again? (Receiving; sending is working just fine).
Have already deleted all but necessary messages, emptied trash, restarted .... thanks for help! KKRP

It is a combination of how much email is avaiable on the server in all server stored mailboxes along with all other data stored with iCloud including your backup.
With an IMAP account, you can store sent messages on the server as well as drafts and trash.

But don't "over quota" messages pertain to your recipient's mail server and mail account? I've never heard of the sender's mail account kicking out a "sender account over quota". Read the message carefully. I suspect that it says in there somewhere that your recipient's imap or pop server reported that the recipient's mail account is over quota to the .mac smtp server, who reported it to you. The recipient needs to clear some mail off his/her mail account, to free up enough space. The mail message may have been queued in the .mac smtp server while redelivery attempts would be tried periodically for some finite amount of time. Many mail servers will temporarily queue mail that cannot be immediately delivered. Once your recipient made adequate space, then at the next periodic delivery attempt, .mac smtp server could send them because the recipient's pop or imap account now had adequate storage space.

Hi, I had the same problem. I finally figured it out. Plug in the USB cord to your ipad, but beofre plugging it into your computer make sure your ipad is not in the locked or sleep mode. Once I did this, my photos showed up and started downloading. Hope that helps you!

HT4864 I upgraded my iCloud capacity AFTER I already had my email shut down. Now all inbound email rejects and senders get a notice that my email is "over quota." Apple support requires a serial number, but this is about iCloud and I do not have a Mac.

I upgraded my storage AFTER I received an email that my iCloud email will be shut off until I was no longer over capacity. I can now send emails, but when anyone sends me an email it rejects and they receive a message that I am "over quota."

If you have an iCloud account it must have been created on a Mac or iOS device. Provide the serial number of that device in order to reach Apple support.

Mail user getting over quota error

One of my mail clients is getting an "Over Quota" error message in their mail client, however, all clients have been set up to have unlimited storage. What could cause this error, and what can I do to resolve it? I can get the error to go away temporarily by setting a quota size, then changing it back to unlimited, but this is not a permanent solution. Thank You.

Go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts > select account
click on Advanced tab > tick box which says 'remove
copy from server after retrieving a message'.
I have a question about which box to tick after the one that says 'remove copy from server after retrieving a message' - is it necessary to keep it for any length of time, or should I just mark 'after one day'?
Also, were you able to retrieve the messages that bounced back? Did they ever make it to the server? If so, how do I find those?

If you haven't already tried again and been able to successfully connnect, try again. If necessary, Quit Mail, and re-open it.
Some errors aren't caused by anything we're doing wrong, or problems with our equipment.

Handling over quota mails

Hello,
I am using Messaging Server ....
Sun Java(tm) System Messaging Server 6.3-5.02 (built Oct 12 2007; 32bit)
libimta.so 6.3-5.02 (built 17:15:31, Oct 12 2007; 32bit)
Is it possible to move over-quota Messages held in a channel to a different custom channel?
This requirement is to help keep the over-quota mails for a week in a custom channel

TS3899 Over Quota

My iCloud storage is showing 3.8gig used for my emails, I've deleted all my mail on the server but when someone tries to mail me they still receive an "over quota" message. I must mention that I do though still receive the mail.

It's not documented anywhere (for good reason, so spammers can't figure out how to avoid it), but they seem to do a pretty good job of blocking known spam entirely, and marking suspicious stuff as Junk. Doubtful. Most spam has either bogus or false "from" addresses (often real addresses, perhaps even yours, collected from various places). And much of it is actually sent from "bots" -- user's PCs that have been taken over by spammers, so even if you click "All Headers" so the actual sender is available, it doesn't help much (but is still worth doing). Anti-spam software is extremely complex, and quite good at intercepting it. There are reports that at least 95% of spam sent is intercepted and trashed, not delivered.

Outlook: The server responded: 'Over quota'

I'm seeing that message on our server for accounts with the quota set to zero. I rebuilt the database this morning for an unrelated issue and this problem followed. Here is some information on one account that is failing.

To bring this back up to the top, here is a summary.
Users:
For the majority of the users, the mail storage has become read-only. If they attempt to move a message from the Exchange server to this server, they get 'Over quota'.
Command Line:
From the command line, everything appears normal, except if your run mailbfr -q. It reports user quotas of either zero or 2147483647 (7fffffff), with no correlation between the quota values and the failure to be able to right.
Server Admin:
Under the maintenance section of Server Admin, all of the user quotas are all reported to be zero, with %Free being listed as 100.00%.
Workgroup Manager:
Workgroup Manager also shows the Mail Quota set to zero. It has been demonstrated that changing the Mail Quota setting does not have any impact on the numbers reported by mailbfr.
I set the Mail Quota for a user to 5600MB in Workgroup Manager yesterday. As of this morning, Server Admin and mailbfr -q both report that the quota for that account is zero.
This is a production server, which has been unusable for a week now. We have short term workarounds, but this cannot continue.

In this case, original sender want to don't receive over quota message.
How to configure for this case.If you are using the mailforwardingaddress: method of forwarding, then the original envelope sender address will remain, therefore the original sender will get bounces.
If you have the most recent Messaging Server 6.3 patch installed you could use the sieve redirect :resetmailfrom parameter which will cause the envelope sender address to be reset to the current sieve owner. That way bounces go to the sieve owner.

Over Quota warning for deleted user

We keep getting, "over quota" warnings for a users that no longer has an account on the mail server. The user has been deleted from the Workgroup and her mailboxes were deleted via command line, but we keep getting over quota warnings. Anyone every seen this? Or know how to make it stop? We're runnning OS 10.4.9.

The problem is that this is not being initiated from a task, but form our nightly maintenance job. These users are falling off because of AD updates outside of our system.
If a DN is deleted from AD, it's already been removed from the groups in AD, but the privileges in our Identity Store haven't synced yet. If we strip all privileges before the entry is deleted, and the DN is no longer valid, the event task will bomb because it is trying to remove a user that doesn't exist anymore.
I'm thinking of just trapping it in the jobs with a script that checks that the user DN is not null. If it is, just skip the entry.
And yes, I will be at TechEd.

Getting an Error Message on PS Elements 13 when entering correct serial number. How do I get Adobe to help me? I have sent emails and tried to chat over the past month, with no response.

I purchased Photoshop Elements and registered it on November 1, 2014 with a Windows 7 machine. A couple weeks later, I decided to jump to a Mac, and have tried to enter the serial number for PS Elements 13 on the Mac. I get an error message that it is an incorrect serial number. It is the same serial number used with the Win 7 machine, and the same that shows on my Adobe.com profile. I thought I had to transfer the license from Win to Mac, so I emailed asking for help. No response. A couple weeks ago, I tried the Chat function. It was assigned a number, but Chat was unavailable and no one responded. Just tried Chat again, which says it is available 24/7, and it is unavailable. What can I do short of buying a new license, which I will not do.

Hi,on starting firefox which i have used solely as my browser for years i am now getting an error message from java script application that shows my username followed by a message saying; 'username'-Invalid username/password combination.If you keep getting this error,try entering your email address as your username'. I then press the OK button within that error message box and it dissapears and everything seems ok although hover my cursor over the mail(envelope) icon and it says not connected.
I only started having this problem since downloading firefox 4.It also does not tell me where this problem is occuring so i do not know where to log on with this information.I would be most grateful for any help with this matter.Many thanks.

Right-click the message and use '''Copy''' to get that complete message.
