Sending a Pic in SMS

I just watched the tutorial on how to send a pic while "texting", but I do not have the icon to the left of the oval shaped "type in area". Can anyone help me? Thank You!

Hi Drew,
The MMS feature requires a compatible carrier plan and configuration. It's currently not available through AT&T, but it will be soon.

  • Can I send a pic via sms text

    Greetings my fellow blackberry users. I have a question pertaining to sending pics taken from my curve 8330. I know that I can send pics via email, but can I send a pic as a text from my phone to another phone?
    Thanks

    Certainly. Except with a picture or file attached, it is no longer an SMS (a test based Short Message Service) but becomes a MMS (Multimedia Messages Service).
    So, from your Messages screen, choose Menu > Compose MMS.

  • Workaround for sending/recieving pics from non iPhone phones?

    So, it seems that no one who tested the iPhone thought that sending pictures back and forth to other phones was a very important feature, as we're seeing that there's no way to send a pic via SMS.
    So, anyone know how I can send pictures to my GF on her Verizon phone? Or, how she can send pictures to me? (i.e. can I email to some address at verizon that translates it to an SMS, and/or can she SMS a picture to my email?)
    Also, it would be good for Apple to add a preference for taking lower-resolution pictures (or some feature that auto-downsizes them when sent via email or (hopefully soon) SMS) so that those of us who send pics all day don't fill up the memories of ppl whose phones don't have 8GB of storage.
    Lastly, how exactly do I upload a picture to a web site? I was trying to upload one to my LiveJournal and the "choose image" button was greyed out in Safari on my iPhone.
    After one day, I am loving the phone, but I think a lot more needs to be done on the preferences end.

    In the mean time, your girl friend needs to send
    her
    photos to your email address instead of your phone
    and you can see them in your inbox. You should be
    able to send her photos by sending the photo to
    (her
    #)@vtext.com. Example [email protected]
    that doesn't work for me. Sent myself an "email"
    with photo attached last night to
    [email protected] and it still has not arrived,
    not even as a blank email stripping out the
    attachment. That is a BIG downfall, to not even
    receive them
    would not work sending it to an iPhone, as the data package doesn't include a @mms.att.net address. (meaning there's no option to email [email protected])
    you can however send any email to [email protected] with pictures attached. (meaning you send the email to an email address synced to the iPhone and use mail to open it)
    to send messages to others, (verizon specifically) you'd send an email using mail with image attached to [email protected]

  • After upgrading to iOS 5, I cant send pics through SMS anymore??

    I can no longer send pics through SMS anymore?...everytime i try to send one, it just prompts me "saving photo" for a very long time until I quit the app?

    This happened to be today as well, starting at about mignight this morning. It's only affecting non-explicit material in the music section of iTunes, Movies, TV Shows and Apps seem to be unaffected.
    After a lengthly attempt at fixing the problem, "Reset All Settings" seems to fix the issue (for now anyway).

  • Curve 8520 cannot send/receive calls or SMS when in range of WiFi - since foreign holiday

    Re-posting this in the Curve forum, where it belongs... hoping someone can help.
    Recently the whole family went to Spain for two weeks. All four of our phones (a Google Nexus 4, a BB Curve 9300 and two BBCurve 8520s) worked OK in Spain, connected to local mobile networks, sent and received texts and so on.
    Since returning to the UK, the BlackBerry handsets have all had problems getting re-registered to our home network (giffgaff, which uses the O2 network, as I understand it). The nexus has been fine from the moment we got back, but the BB handsets are not.
    The symptoms: when in range of a registered WiFi connection, the phones cannot send or receive texts (SMS) or make or receive calls, when out of range of WiFi, they do (sometimes) succeed. It is as though the WiFi settings are over-ruling the service books / HRT for the mobile network.
    The 9300 seems to have sorted itself out, thanks (possibly) to an OS upgrade. The 8520s remain basically useless.
    We have tried: battery pulls, SIM pulls, manual network registration, clearing the service books and re-registering, switching SIM cards between the phones (whichever SIM is in the 9300 works OK, whichever SIM is in the 8520 does not work), OS upgrade.
    The network shows on the handset screen, and connection is shown as EDGE. But calls do not get connected and SMS messages fail with "too many retries". Attempts to re-register the handset result in a message being received that the handset has been registered but it makes no difference.
    The network provider (giffgaff) say they have done everything they can, and I should speak to "an engineer" - but it seems very unlikely to me that all three phones suffered a hardware fault while flying home from Spain, and that the 9300 somehow fixed itself. So I'm convinced it is a registration issue, but giffgaff are not exactly confident in their support for BB.
    So - has anyone ever seen this behaviour before, and how can we fix it?
    Thanks

  • Messages sending to iPhone as SMS instead of iMessage

    I have an iPhone 6 Plus running iOS 8.3 and a MacBook Pro 17" running OS X Yosemite (10.10.2). My wife has an iPhone 6 and a MacBook running an older version of OS X. Occasionally when I try to send her an iMessage using the OS X Messages app, it tries to send the message as SMS instead of iMessage. This usually fails because cell phone service at my rural home is spotty at best. Why, when my Mac and both iPhones have solid wi-fi connections to my AirPort Extreme, would it send messages as SMS?

    Hi Ian,
    If you are having an issue with sending SMS text messages, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -

    $headers = "MIME-Version: 1.0\n" ;
                $headers .= "Content-Type: text/plain; charset=\"UTF-8\"\n";
                $headers .= "X-Priority: 1 (Highest)\n";
                $headers .= "X-MSMail-Priority: High\n";
                $headers .= "Importance: High\n";
                // Additional headers
                $headers .= 'From: Rakesh <[email protected]>' . "\r\n";
                foreach($disemail as $email)

  • My messages are not going through or coming in from other iOS devices.  Having to send and receive in SMS.  What is up?

    My messages are not going through or coming in from other iOS devices.  Having to send and receive in SMS.  What is up?  Anyone else having these issues?

    There's an article that Apple has acknowledged this issue. They recommend turning off imessages, reset all settings and then reactivate imessages.
    If that doesn't work, you may just have to wait until they release an update, which should be pretty soon.

  • IPhone always sends first message as SMS for iMessage

    my phone always sends the first message as an SMS.  when the other person replies it then switches to iMessage.  other times it sends as an SMS, then when I look back at the first text 20 minutes later, it is now a blue bubble instead of green as it was when I first sent it.
    also, i am working on WiFi and the iPhone keeps attemping to send the message as SMS.  along with that i also tried sending a text with "Send as SMS" OFF, and it still sent as a text message with a green bubble.
    I have a iPhone 5, through Sprint.

    i got around this by learning the hard way, sending texts internationally.
    1.) within your iMessage settings make sure you have added your email address under "You can be reached by iMessage at:", and make sure there is a check mark next to that address.
    2.) after you've done that, under "Start new conversations from:", uncheck your phone number and place check mark next to your email address.
    for me this stopped the sending of TEXT message, and sent an iMessage using my email address.
    still haven't figured out how to send iMessage while on airplane mode though.

    Have you reset the password recently for the email account?
    A real simple fix usually is to delete the mail account (settings < mail contacts calendars, tap the affected account and choose delete at the bottom) Then re add the account.
