Sending a project out of house - recipient's FCP rev.

I have a client who's asked that I send the latest version of our video to another house for localization. The other facility is on FCP as well.
I was about to use media manager to xfer a timeline and all the associated media to a hard drive I'd ship to the other facility but I've just learned that they're on FCP 5. I'm on FCP 6. I guess they'd still have access to the Quicktime files, stills, etc. but it seems unlikely that they'd be able to open the project file.
Just to be clear, they don't need to see my edit. They just need the source material to edit into their own project. I just thought it'd save me time to pull the whole project rather than collecting two dozen selects for them.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

hey Pete
you can still media manage the project media so that you are handing over only the specific files you need to / want to ... if you want them to have the project file too then open the media managed project (close the original so you dont export from the original by accident) and then use File > Export > XML... and in the dialog specify that you want to use XML version 3 or earlier ... dont use XML v4 as that is for FCP6 or later.

I pretty much work alone.
After I shoot, I edit and then output to DVD so I've not been faced with this issue before. One of my clients wants me to send a copy of thier latest video to another facility so that facility can take clips from my cut and do their own local cut. The other facility works on FCP too though I don't know what revision yet. Personally, I'm running FCP 6.0.1.
What I'd like to do is send them a hard drive with the project file, the entire timeline and all media used in the timeline (with handles). I suspect this is an easy thing to do, I've just never done it.
Can anyone suggest the method?

Sadly, I went to the Media Manager and I'm still a little unclear. It may be that I've been unclear in asking my question. So, two things.
First, for some reason I've always had trouble trusting the FCP Media Manager. Does using the Media Manager have any effect on the original project? Sentences like "delete unused media from duplicated items" scare the heck out of me.
Second, I only want this other facility to get one timeline and only the media used in that one timeline. Is that still the work of the media manager? Any hints as to the settings?

Is there a way to save a fillable form (in Reader) as a static (uneditiable) image and send it for signature without the recipient being able to revise the fields at all? I have designed a number of fillable forms and sent them to our clients as Reader extended pdfs to be filled out and sent back. Now, certain clients want to be able to fill in the fields and save the doc as a pdf that can't be tampered with so that they can send it to their own people for signature to be returned to them hand-signed and scanned via email.
Since the forms have been secured, and my cleints are only using the free Acrobat Reader, how can they save the filled in form as a static pdf to send on for signature? They do not want to have to print, scan and email. Is there an app, plug-in, simple solution to this?

The signature WILL work! I've just looked into it more, thank you so much for pointing me in that direction.
I get it now, it locks the form fields in place after my coworker fills them in and signs it (as the very last step).
I wish I would have asked on here a full day ago. Would have saved a lot of headache and Googling.

When I use the pre-installed Messaging app I get the following error message for some but not all contacts

I can't work out what is is about the contacts that results in the error but today I had the error when trying to text to an iPhone and a Blackberry. Just to be clear, some contacts produce that error message every time; some contacts work properly every time.
It's becoming more than a little frustrating and at the moment I'm wondering why did I not just get another iPhone?
Anyway, all suggestions gratefully received...

It gets a bit weirder.
Taking the contact I tried to text earlier:
If I go to the contacts app, and select the messaging icon next to his mobile number, the text message which I compose is sent properly.
If I open the messaging app, select write new message and select his name, the text is not sent and the error message appears.
It's not at all satisfactory.

Failed to send my project in final cut pro to compressor

I tried to send my project in final cut pro to compressor but when I go to file then see send to compressor it will not let me click on "send to compressor". I checked but none of my files are missing or anything and the project is only 4 minutes long. This has happened to me once before and it completely crashed my computer. I had to start out fresh which was a horrible process. CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP?! (URGENT)What might I have done wrong that this happens? In the picture below, this happens and I have no idea why that is.

I suspect it's a FCP X issue rather than a Compressor issue.
Will FCP export a master file? Make a short section with the range tool and find out.
Tri reseting the zoo's preferences. Hold down the option and command keys when you launch to reset.

If you are using 10.0.3 or above Apple added a backups folder that for a little extra protection in cases like this. If you quite FCPX go to your Final Cut Pro Projects folder. Find the folder that has the project in question. If it has a backups folder there should be a file with a date stamp and .fcpproject extention, that is your back-up. Just move the back-up from that folder one folder up to the place where you deleted CurrentVersion.fcpproject from. When I have had to do this I haven't renamed the backup but some people to recomend that you rename it to CurrentVersion.fcpproject and it seems to work both ways. Ofcourse it wont work if there is already a CurrenVersion file there you will need to delete that one first.
If you don't have the backups folder or there is nothing in it I am not sure if there is anything that can be done.

InDesign CC no longer packages fonts when I need to send a project to the printer

Hey Adobe team: Long-time user from when Photoshop was but a sprout. I recently upgraded from Creative Suite 6 to Creative Cloud and have run into a troubling problem. InDesign CC no longer packages fonts when I need to send a project to the printer. This meant that I had to completely redo a project on deadline for a problem that I’ve never had before. How is this possibly helping your users? And is there a solution in the works or do I need to cancel Creative Cloud and go back to CS6?

First of all, you are not addressing any Adobe team. These forums are primarily supported by volunteers who are not Adobe employees and don't officially represent Adobe Technical Support.
That having been said ...
There was nothing done specifically with InDesign 9 or 10 (the CC and CC 2014) versions of InDesign to change or disable packaging of fonts when packaging a document. It should be absolutely no different from InDesign 8 (the CS6 version).
Troubleshooting hints:
(1)     Make sure you check the Copy Fonts (Except CJK and TypeKit) option in the package dialog.
(2)     Make sure that you are not using any CJK (Chinese, Japanese, and Korean) complex fonts that we specifically will never put into a package.
(3)     TypeKit fonts won't package.
(4)     Make sure that your file system permissions are such that InDesign can create all the necessary directories and subdirectories for the packaging operation.
(5)     If on MacOS, exit InDesign and try forcing a clearing of your system font cache and then reboot.
(6)     Exit InDesign and then find and delete all files on your system with filenames of the form AdobeFnt##.lst where ## is a two digit number; don't delete any other files that start with AdobeFnt. Then reboot and restart InDesign.
(7)     Reset InDesign's preferences that may have become corrupted. For Windows, start InDesign, and then press Shift+Ctrl+Alt. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files. For MacOS, while pressing Shift+Option+Command+Control, start InDesign. Click Yes when asked if you want to delete preference files.
One of these should either address or resolve your problem. Again, we at Adobe are not aware of any generic issue with packing fonts with InDesign.

When looking at the error logs from Apache in a SSO installation (10.1.2.0.2) i have found these entries:

I think you are confusing things here.
While you can change the port used for submission from your mail clients to your mail server, you cannot (should not) change the outgoing port for your smtp server. All mail servers expect incoming traffic on port 25, thus using port 587 will not get your mail delivered (it will go through your firewall, but that's about it).
If your mail server (not client) is behind a firewall with port 25 blocked, there is no way it can send mail to outside domains. So either get your ISP to let port 25 through for your server or use your ISP's smpt server to send mail (this can be done directly, or through your mail server relaying through your ISPs server).

To move entire projects export them as Aperture Libraries, and then import those Libraries into the other Aperture Library:
Select the Project in the Inspector, then
File -> Export -> Project as Library
In the other Library do:
File -> Import -> Library/ Project
But I am not quite convinced, that the size of your current Aperture Library is responsible for the slowness of Aperture - Aperture is designed to cope with huge libraries.
You may want to post your hardware setup and details of your library, and some of the hardware experts here may help you to find the reason for the slowness.
A huge library should only be a problem, if the projects are too big, and if you have many, many smart albums at the root level of your library.
So keep the projects small, and try to move some of your smart albums to lower levels in your folder structure (then Aperture does not need to scan all of your images to build the smart album).
Other reasons for Aperture's slowness may be, e.g.
An overfull system drive and/or external drive (keep at least 20% of your drives empty)
lack of RAM
a corrupted Aperture Library, that needs repairing
Have you checked those options, before you split your library? It would be a pity to split it, for you would loose the ability to browse all parts at the same time, to use all your images in the Media Browser, etc.

I have heard of IDOC packaging in the PI 7.1 for which we need to create a sender channel in XI and sender agreement.
but the idoc adapter has the sender selection grayed out. Is there any other configuration which needs to be done.

yes you have missed something - exactly what i am not able to guess.........just check whether the SAP BASIS 7.10 component was correctly deployed in your PI 7.1 system because without EHP1 also, at least you should be able to configure sender IDOC adapter............
maybe you need to do the readiness check of your PI 7.1 system again.........try restarting your PI server completely and then check if there is any error in the startup logs.........if there is no error, then again try to configure sender IDOC comm channel in ID.

It is important to understand that Mail uses TWO servers, a Receiving Server and a Sending Server.
When you create a new mail message, or reply to a message, the Sender server is shown in the message composition window like this:
That drop-down window allows you to select which of the Sending Servers you previously set up should be used.
In general, once you choose a Sending server, its choice will "stick" for all future replies to messages from that Receiving mailbox.
