Sending a text to Multiples

I can't for the life of me figure this out, how do I send out one text message to multiple people?
Thanks in advance for any help!
-C

Have you upgraded to 1.1.3?
If so there should be a little '+' sign at the right hand side of the 'To:' field in 'New Message'.
Tap '+', add a recipient. Tap '+' again, add another etc. etc.
This will allow you to add as many recipients as you want!

    On iPhone 3GS , how do u send 1text to multiple numbers?

    The information below implies you must use MMS or iMessage (not SMS).
    [extracted from the iPhone User Guide for iOS 5]
    Sending messages to a group
    Group messaging lets you send a message to multiple recipients. Group messaging works with iMessage and MMS (not available in all areas).
    Send messages to a group: Tap the new message button, then enter multiple recipients.
    Note: With MMS, group messaging must also be turned on in Settings > Messages, and replies are sent only to you—they aren’t copied to the other people in the group.

  • How to send a text to multiple people in my droid I

    can someone help me please, thanks in advance.

    Hmm, don't have a droid 1. All I have to do on my droid 2 is open the txt menu, hit the plus sign on the upper right, and start selecting contacts. Just keeping "adding" them with the drop down arrow that appears. I don't know what version of Android you're running though. You should have several videos on your My Verizon page detailing how to use your phone. Failing that, just look at your manual. If you don't still have it, find a PDF online, or do a Google search. Shouldn't be that difficult.

  • Can I Turn off iMessage in a group text with multiple people with different devices? There's 1 person in the group text that doesn't use iPhone anymore and they can't see any messages that are sent unless we send as regular text individually.

    Is there a way to turn off iMessage for a group text that includes multiple people with different non-apple devices? When a message is sent, only the iPhone users can see the iMessage. Those without them cannot see the texts unless we send individual Text Messages or turn off iMessage completely.

    now I have this and it still doesn't work.

  • IPhone 5 iOS7 - Sending text to multiple recipients.

    I have recently upgraded from my trusty iPhone 3GS to an iPhone 5 with iOS7. The phone is locked to the UK O2 Network.
    When abroad multiple recipient text could be sent incurring a European Text Message Cost of 6p per recipient. So far so good. Idid not use data when I was abroad as I had the Roaming option off.
    When back in the UK I tried to send Multiple Recipeint texts only to find there was a problem.
    The recipeint received a message saying that I had sent them a Media Message without the text being included. I incurred a 33p cost per multiple text instead od the texts being free.
    I have never paid for texts before as I am on an unlimited text tariff.
    Any suggestions other than sending each text individually.
    O2 seem to be aware of this issue.
    Is it an iOS7 issue, or an iPhone 5 issue?
    This was never a problem with my iPhone 3GS.
    Many thanks.

    I have just read this on the Apple Site:
    "iOS: Understanding group messaging
    Learn about group messaging.
    You can send a message to multiple recipients using SMS, MMS, and iMessage.
    Group messaging allows you to send messages to multiple people and have any responses delivered to everyone in the group. Group messaging works with iMessage and MMS.
    If you send a message to multiple recipients without group messaging in use by the sender and all recipients, an individual message will go to each recipient using either SMS or MMS. Responses to these messages will be delivered only to the original sender in separate messaging threads."
    This would suggest that Multiple Recipient Text do not necessarily need MMS.
    It would seem that unless MMS is prevented then Multiple Recipient Texts will default to MMS.
    I have switched off data and have been able to send Multiple Recipient Texts which the recipient has been able to read as texts.

  • IPhone keeps sending the same text message multiple times in a row.

    My iphone (4s) keeps sending people the same text message multiple times (2-4) a few seconds inbetween.  Sometimes it will tell me that there the message failed, but they still recieve it multiple times.  I've already tried deleting the message tread and reset network settings.  Nobody who has an iphone has said anything to me about it yet, only people with android.

    It's a carrier issue. I have AT&T and had this issue with my friend (who had an Android) and my mother (who had a feature phone). Both of them have Verizon for service and I'm thinking the issue was on Verizon's end. They both just dealt with it as we tried all sorts of things to get this sorted out (other than contacting Verizon directly) and had no luck.
    They've both switched to iPhones so it's a moot point for us now, at least.

  • When I send a text message to my two children with non-smart phones, the message comes throug blank. When I send a message to them one at a time it will go through but not multiple addresses. Can this problem be fixed?

    When I send a text message on my iPhone 4s to my two children with non-smart phones, the message comes through blank. If I send it to each one individually, it will go through ok. Is this a problem with my phone or it is something I am doing wrong.

    Check your phone to make sure MMS is turned on. If it is, check with your cell provider and make sure your phone is provisioned correctly.

  • TS2755 keep receiving the same text message multiple times, at the same time of the night. How can I stop this?Thabnks

    Hi
    I keep on receiving the same text message multiple times and at around the same time each night. Any idea how I can stop this happening? The text messages are originating from to separate Saudi Arabian mobile numbers. Both these people are listed in my contacts so do you think if I delete their names it might stop the texts coming htrough each night?
    Cheers

    Deleting the people from your contacts will not stop the messages. Have you tried talking to the people and finding out if they're sending you messages? You could try contacting your carrier and finding out what blocking services they offer. However, theat would block all messages from those people.

  • How do I send "unlimited" text in a parameter using "POST" in Ajax

    I'm trying to send large amounts of text data to the server using POST rather than GET, using Ajax
    However, I am only able to send a max of 9.76 kb
    I start with a jsp page, which calls a javascript method that utilises Ajax, which sends the text in a parameter in a XMLHttpRequest object
    to a servlet. The text is derived from options values in a multi select combo box.
    Here's my code:
    Code snippet from .jsp page:
            <table>
            <form name="form1" id="form1" method="POST">
               <tr>
                  <td>
                 <select name="sel" id="sel" multiple="multiple" size="0"></select>
              </td>
              <td>
                 <input type="button" id="sendOpts" name="sendOpts" value="Send Options" onClick="jsObj.sendOpts()">
              </td>
              </tr>
           </form>
           </table>Code snippet from jsObj.js file:
    //=================================================
    // jsObj object
    //=================================================
    jsObj = new jsObj();
    function jsObj() {
         this.sendOpts = function() {
              if(!confirm('Send Option Values?'))
                   return;
              if (window.XMLHttpRequest) { // code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari
                   xmlhttp=new XMLHttpRequest();
              } else { // code for IE6, IE5
                   xmlhttp=new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");
              xmlhttp.onreadystatechange=function() {

                        if (xmlhttp.status==200 || window.location.href.indexOf("http")==-1) {
                             alert(xmlhttp.responseText); // When I copy and paste all the text from this alert to text editor and save the file, the largest the file can be is 9.76 kb.
              var url = 'testSize'; // Servlet that simply retrieves the sent String in a parameter and sends it back to this method
              var sel = document.getElementById('sel');
              var str = sel.name + '=';
              var delim = ':';
              for(var i = 0; i < sel.length; i++) {
                   str += encodeURIComponent(sel.options.value + delim); // 'encodeURIComponent' encodes any special characters within the parameter values
              xmlhttp.open("POST",url,true);
              xmlhttp.setRequestHeader("Content-type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"); // This is needed for any POST request made via Ajax
              xmlhttp.send(str); // send the parameter and it's value to the servlet

    Yes, I tried that.
    I set the "ACTION" of the form to the servlet and then used the form.submit() method to POST the text to the servlet.
    i.e.: I selected many options in the select combo, concatenated them to one string, set the 'value' property of a form text field to
    this string, did a 'form.submit()' to the servlet and I was able to send a much larger amount of text.
    ( The .txt file I saved from the resulting text equaled about 30 kb in size, so obviously I can send much more
    data this way. )
    However, I want to use Ajax, so I don't have to reload the page. I 'borrowed' the Ajax part of the code from a website:
    http://www.javascriptkit.com/dhtmltutors/ajaxgetpost2.shtml
    and I presumed that because the author used "POST" as opposed to "GET", I would be able to send larger
    chunks of data. Obviously not, or there's another reason for the limit of data I can send using my present code,
    which I'm not seeing. I'm fairly new to jsp, Ajax & Servlets, so this is no surprise.
    If anyone can point out to me where I'm going wrong, I'd greatly appreciate it. Cheers.

  • When I send a text to my email, my wifes phone recives it as an iMessage.

    After setting up all 3 of our iPhone 3GS phones on iCloud so we could us ehte find my phone feature an anoying thing happened.  When I send a text message to my email address my son's phone and my wifes phone recive that message as a text message.  Also when she texts me I recive it as if it is coming from my email address.  I went threw my contacts any my email is not associated with her contact.
    After a trip to the apple store we found out that suposedly it was because we all share the same iTunes account.  So I created an apple ID for my wife and my son and set the iCloud to use thier respective accounts.  It appears that my sons phone does have the issue anymore but my wife and my phone still have the issue.
    A side note, my Son's phone when plugged into the computer (windows 7) pops up labled his phone.  When my phone or my wifes phone is plugged in it just says Apple iPhone.  It doesn't show our iPhones name.  iTunes does show the proper name though.
    This is a very anoying thing and I would love to get it resolved with out having to go back to the apple store.

  • Send PDF attachment to Multiple Receipents - SD Document Output Type

    Hi,
    i have created a new output type in v/30 transaction for the sales order to send externally (i.e. as Email attachment). Output type ZWWW and Application V1. In the mail Title and texts entered the title (Subject). In the processing routines selected medium as u201CExternal Sendu201D and program /SMB40/RVADOR01, Form routine as ENTRY and also inputted the custom smartform name in the PDF/Smartform form. In the partner function tree, selected sold-to party (SP) for External send. SAVEd it.
    The above setup will send email to just one email id maintained in the customer master. I wanted to send the email to multiple email ids.
    Any suggestions on how to go about doing this?
    Thanks,
    Balaji

    Hi,
    You can specify the Partners in partner functions in NACE transaction as you already given to sold-to party.

  • I Keep Receiving The Same Text Messages Multiple Times

    Every single time someone texts me, it doesn't matter who, I will receive the same message from them multiple times. At first I thought it was just them resending their message but I asked and they said no. After a few days it started happening with all my contacts that I text. Sometimes it's every other text message and sometimes it only happens a couple of times but it's extremely annoying. It got so bad that I had to bump up my plan to Unlimited Messaging just so that I wouldn't go over my limit because I think that it's counting the multiple messages! Also, I've tried updating my phone and that didn't work.
    Does anyone have any tips or solutions to this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks.

        Hi cbf10,
    I am sorry to learn of the erratic duplicate messages you are receiving from several contacts. Let's narrow the potential issues that may be causing this behavior. Are you using a 3rd party application to send/receive text messages (i.e. Handcent, Go SMS, etc...)? Have you altered the operating system software in any way? What is your software version, baseband, kernel and built number?
    Clearing messaging data/cache as applicable may resolve the issue: Menu>Settings>Applications>ManageApplications>All>Messaging>Clear Data/Cache. Try it and keep us posted.

  • How to Improve Design for HTML, Plain Text and Multiple Recipients?

    Hello there,
    JavaMail programming is so fun! I first start off mixing the JavaMail code inside a servlet and then refactored it to two separate classes.
    Mailer is the independent class which uses JNDI to look up config parameters, sends e-mails, and then closes the connection with the protocol.
    public class Mailer {
         private Session mailSession;
         protected void sendMsg(String email, String subject, String body)
         throws MessagingException, NamingException {
              Properties props = new Properties();
              InitialContext ictx = new InitialContext(props);
              Session mailSession = (Session) ictx.lookup("java:/Mail");
              String username = (String) props.get("mail.smtps.user");
              String password = (String) props.get("mail.smtps.password");
              MimeMessage message = new MimeMessage(mailSession);
              message.setSubject(subject);
              message.setRecipients(javax.mail.Message.RecipientType.TO,
                        javax.mail.internet.InternetAddress.parse(email, false));
              message.setText(body);
              message.saveChanges();
              Transport transport = mailSession.getTransport("smtps");
              try {
                   transport.connect(username, password);
                   transport.sendMessage(message, message.getAllRecipients());
                   Logger.getLogger(this.getClass()).warn("Message sent");
              finally {
                   transport.close();
    }MailController is just a simple Java servlet where a Mailer object is instantiated and a String is passed inside the Mailer.sendMsg() method.
    public class MailController extends HttpServlet {
         /** static final HTML setting for content type */
         private static final String HTML = "text/html";
         myapp/** static final HTML setting for content type */
         private static final String PLAIN = "text/plain";
         public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
         throws ServletException, IOException {
              doPost(request, response);
         public void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
         throws ServletException, IOException {
              response.setContentType(PLAIN);
              PrintWriter out = response.getWriter();
              String mailToken = TokenUtil.getEncryptedKey();
              String body = "Hello there, " + "\n\n"
                        + "Wanna play a game of golf?" + "\n\n"
                     + "Please confirm: https://localhost:8443/myapp/confirm?token="
                     + mailToken + "\n\n" + "-Golf USA";
              Mailer mailer = new Mailer();
              try {
                   mailer.sendMsg("[email protected]", "Golf Invitation!", body);
                   out.println("Message Sent");
              catch (MessagingException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
              catch (NamingException e) {
                   e.printStackTrace();
    }Have some design issues...
    If you can notice, I manually place the body of the e-mail (as a String) from inside the client (in this case, a Java Servlet). Also, I manually have to switch the content type inside the doPost().
    Question(s):
    (1) How can the Mailer class be set up, so it can send both HTML and plain text messages?
    (2) How can the Mailer class be structured to send e-mail to multiple recipients or one user?
    (3) Would both of these features / actions require writing two overloaded methods for sendMsg()?
    Would appreciate it if someone could help me...
    Happy programming,
    Michael

    Okay, I came up with this single method:

    }Question(s):
    (1) How come the Multipart Alternative only supports HTML for the second part? Can I specify it to send HTML first and plainText second?
    (2) How would I send in multiple recipients? Would I have to pass in an array reference (surrounded by a for loop) inside sendMessage() as follows:
    mailer.sendMessage(from, myArray, subject, plainText, htmlText);
    Thank you for all of your help!
