Sending a web page by email

Internet Explorer would provide an option under the File Menu to send a page by email. All I see, is send a link. Is there not a way to do this in Firefox without copying the entire page and posting in an email??

I'm afraid I no longer have a copy of Panther running so I can only comment on what I see in Tiger at the moment (how quickly the memory fades...).
Tiger has the same Grab services menu entry, and from what you described it seems to behave the same - i.e. it doesn't allow you to take a snapshot of Safari. It will let me select it if I'm running AddressBook however... So, I'm not quite sure what's going on I'm afraid. It looks like certain applications allow themselves to have screenshots taken while others don't. If anyone else knows the reason please enlighten us.
By the way, the Grab reference I made was to Preview File menu -> Grab, not the Services menu. You should be able to perform the same thing from the Grab application directly in Panther (/Applications/Utilities/Grab if I recall rightly).

Sending edited web page via email

I received via email a web page which someone asked me to change. I'm a painter not a web designer and I know just enough to be dangerous. I managed to get the page into Dreamweaver and edit it but now I don't know how to get it back to the person, presumably via email. Or maybe there's another way. I read in a forum that you can post it, but I'm not sure how to do that either. Thanks for any help someone can offer. Sarah.

I wanted to send a web page address in an e-mail.

I did the usual to be able to send a web page address in and e-mail. a pop up window came up saying that my current e-mail app no longer did this And to click here to install a new email app. So i did this and the usual desk top mail icon that looked like a stamp went away. Now I have an icon that has a white page like a piece of paper with the 3 symbol {pen pencil} type thing you se on the apple application icon. I click on this new icon and a small cloud of dust appears on my desk top and no windows appears. I go to the application list and cant find the old app. it wasnt in the waste basket. what happened?

A few more details might help, if nobody else recognizes this.
What happens when you try to open the links?
Can you post an example of a link that doesn't work?
Is there any particular source for the mail with the (bad) links, or is mail from all sources failing?
If you happen to know it, what's the format of the mail message? (Maybe the message is an image?)
Do the embedded links work as expected from an OS X system running Mail.app, or some system and some other other mail client?
To view the link in iOS: if you press on and hold your finger on an embedded link in most contexts, iOS will show a pop-up with the link contents, and will offer to copy it. You can use that to acquire and post the link. If pressing and holding on the link doesn't offer the pop-up, the format of the link itself may not be valid, or it might not really be a link.

Firefox crashes when trying to send a web page link.

The questions says it all. I've tried three times to send a web page link and each time I got a Microsoft error message and Firefox closed.

I filed a bug for this crash as it has been reported on Mac machines and all of the comments are either printing a webpage or printing a print button.
If I may ask are you using File > Print or is there also a print icon?
Another question for investigation is do you have print_printer?
In order to change your Firefox Configuration please do the following steps :
# In the [[Location bar autocomplete|Location bar]], type '''about:config''' and press '''Enter'''. The about:config "''This might void your warranty!''" warning page may appear.
# Click '''I'll be careful, I promise!''' to continue to the about:config page.
#right click new > string and enter name : print_printer and for value : enter the name of your printer with without the quotes, then OK.

Opening web pages in email has stopped working after upgrade of ios

I cannot open web pages in email, or indeed even scroll them. only change recently as upgrade to ios 7. I can come out of mail and open in safari, but very annoying!!

replicate the error and paste the error from defaultrace from server0\log.

Sending a HTML web page in email question please.

Sorry, the "Mail and address" section of the group is down.
A long time ago using windoze, I use to be able to send a entire embedded HTML Web page, not a link, in my emails so the reader does not have to click a link but can see the page right in the email.
I know email in Leo did not have this but can't find any product info as to Snow Leo allows me to do this. Can you please advise?

this only works with safari. Mail uses safari engine to render html. you can also just copy+paste parts of html pages but also only from safari. it will not work well if you try it from firefox.

Can no longer send a web page to someone's email address, want that ability back. How to fix?

Hello, I miss the little orange rectangle in the upper left corner of my mozilla firefox screens, now that I have the new version, from which I could click and it would drop a menu down with some selections, one being "share" and I could email a link for the page I was on in firefox, to someone in my email list. I use Thunderbird, by the way. Is there still a way to email links to web pages from mozilla? If not, is there a way to get the old firefox version back? Thank you much.<br>

You can actually add this back via the Customize window. Follow the steps below to get that back.
*Click [[Image:new fx menu]] > Customize
*On the left/middle section, you'll see '''E-mail link'''
*Drag that out of the Customize window whereever you want.

How can I send a website page by email with Firefox, not just the link?

I am unable to SEND web pages with Firefox.
With Internet Explorer, I simply go to FILE - Send - Page by email, (or Link by email). By sending the page, I can add some comments, remove some advertising, and/or highlight points I would like to highlight.
The question then, is there a way to Send - Page by email in Firefox?
If so, I will make it my default browser.

Why does this latest Safari refuse to send a web page? It can't find MAIL?

Please help me. I always have sent a web page by going to file and clicking on 'mail contents of this page ' or 'mail link to this page'. Suddenly my newest Safari 3.1.2 and my Leopard OS X tell me "Safari couldn't create an email message because it couldn't locate an email application. You can use the mail application with MAC OS X to send webpages.To do so you need to install mail using the OSX installation CD's."
Huh? What is this sudden change? HELP!

Searching these forums I found that at least one person fixed this exact problem by simply toggling the default email application setting.
Open Mail, go to Mail > Preferences > General. Change the "Default email reader" to something other than Mail.app. Launch and then quit Safari. Change the Mail setting back to Mail as the default email program. Launch Safari again and see if this fixed the problem.

How do I print a web page and email a link to a web page?

I cannot print a web page like I could with earlier Firefox versions. Nor can i email a link to a web page. nor can I load google toollbar. i am very disappointed with firefox for not supportring these features.
