"Error retrieving xml file from database"
Hello All,
I have installed and configured planning with Shared services. While I try to create an instance in Configuration Utility by entering the Instance Name, Host Name, Port (8300) and Click "Next", I get this error -
*"System failure:Error retrieving xml file from database".*
My RDBMS is - SQL Server 2005
OS - Windows 2003 Server
I am unable to work on planning for few months due to this error.. I would sincerely appreciate if someone can provide me a solution for this..
Thanks much,
Varma.Hi,
Ive seen this before.
If this is a new environment could you create a blank database and configure it as your System database? Then try again and you should be fine.
I think you may have some invalid entries in your sys database.

How to store and retrieve XML messages in AQ using ESB/ BPE
Hello,
I am having a requirement which I feel should be fairly common - store and retrieve XML messages in AQ. However, I am struggling to decide which type of queue to use AQ or JMS...Here is the requirement
1. In an ESB, I want to read different kind of files using file adapter. Different kind as in, having different structure or schema
2. I want to create a queue that is capable of storing any kind of xml data. To this queue, I want to enqueue the message read in step 1.
3. In another process, say a BPEL, I want to dequeue the message and write into a file. The filename is retrieved from one of the header properties. I want to dequeue using a stored procedure, not by using a JMS or AQ Adapter (reason being that these adapters poll the queue, and consume a message immediately. However, I want to consume the message only when there is a business need)
My questions are:
1. What kind of queue I should create in the DB (What should be its payload type...XMLType? )... I guess the answer would also determine the adapter to be used - JMS or AQ
2. How I should map the xml data read from the file in step 1 to this adapter
Any help is highly appreciated.You are right in suggesting that I dont need to store my XML data as xml in the DB...I dont want to too :) but its just that, thats the only option I can see at this time (the other track i am exploring is :
File adapter(XML) -> Convert to opaque (base64binary) -> Enqueue opaque to JMS (aq$_jms_bytes_message) ->Dequeue Opaque -> Write file opaquely.
In this I have hit the roadblock in trying to convert XML to base64binary...maybe some custom java function is needed...anyway)
Coming back to this thread, where I am trying the following
File adapter(XML) -> Enqueue as XML to queue ->Dequeue XML -> Write file opaquely.
PS: I think its important for me to mention that I am using SOA 10.1.3.1.0
I tried the steps you gave...after creating the queue, I am trying to create a JMS adapter. But the queue I created doesnt show up in the browse window of destinations for the JMS Adapter..That had led me to infer that JMS adapter cant be used
{color:#99cc00}CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE batchupdate_row_type AS OBJECT
(update_queue_id NUMBER
,upc VARCHAR2(20)
,price1 NUMBER);
{color}
{color:#99cc00}CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE batchupdate_rec_type AS VARRAY(9999999) OF batchupdate_row_type;
CREATE OR REPLACE TYPE payload_type AS OBJECT ( payload batchupdate_rec_type);
EXECUTE DBMS_AQADM.CREATE_QUEUE_TABLE ( queue_table => 'jmsuser.batch_update_queue_table', queue_payload_type => 'payload_type');
EXECUTE DBMS_AQADM.CREATE_QUEUE ( queue_name => 'batch_update_queue', queue_table => 'jmsuser.batch_update_queue_table');
EXECUTE DBMS_AQADM.START_QUEUE ( queue_name => 'batch_update_queue'); {color}
I also needed some opinion on whether the last step of my proposed solution ( Dequeue XML -> Write file opaquely) is possible. As I want to develop a service oblivious of the structure of the file, I dont want to create a file adapter based on a particular xsd...so I want to write whatever xml I am getting from the queue....is this step possible -

WRT54GX4 unable to retrieve XML files
I'm trying to retrieve XML files through a subversion network. When I try through the router WRT54GX4, I get a response that the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond. I know it is not my service provider because if I connect to the service directly through my cable modem, I'm able to retrieve the files. I thought the problem was initially with the subversion network, however I ran into a similar problem in trying to download XML as part of the installation process to install the Android simulator. I have PPTP Pass through, IPSec Pass through and L2TP Pass through all enabled. Firewall protection is enabled, but I've tried the download with it disabled. Firmware version is 1.00.20. I've reset the router and started from scratch and nothing seems to work.
Any thoughts on what the problem could be?Back again. I upgraded the firmware..now using 1.00.17 and reset the router back to the factory settings. I tried again and received the same message. Turns out the server I'm trying to access is actually hosted by a 3rd party. So I'm using VPN to tunnel into my work network, then I need to connect to go through a second VPN tunnel to get to this server. Therefore I believe that the router is unable to tunnel through to that section location. If I take the router out of the equation and connect to my modem then I can connect just fine.

lMarker := 'Selecting XML row';
println(lMarker, 2);
SELECT XML_FILE
INTO clobBuffer

lMarker := 'Get length of the clob';
iClobLength := nvl(DBMS_LOB.getlength(clobBuffer), 0);
WHILE (l_offset <= iClobLength) LOOP

UTL_FILE.put (ftypFileHandle, vOutputBuffer);
UTL_FILE.fflush (ftypFileHandle);
UTL_FILE.new_line (ftypFileHandle);
l_offset := l_offset + l_amt;
END LOOP;
lMarker := 'Close file';
println(lMarker, 2);
UTL_FILE.fclose (ftypFileHandle);
ThanksHello myself,
nobody has answered my question, so now I answer myself!!
The wrong part is to read the file with "open dataset" and to create the inputstream with
p_istream = p_streamfactory->create_istream_itable(
table = g_xml_table
size = g_xml_size ).
Better ist to create the inputstream with
p_istream = p_streamfactory->create_istream_uri(
.......................PUBLIC_ID = ''
.......................SYSTEM_ID = '
applserver\I$\TEMP\Datei.XML' ).
In this way no space is needed for the file.
Best regards,
Thomas

Why can't I open and retrieve my files from iPhoto and my Address Book after importing the files from my Power Mac G5 to my new Mac Pro? I get a warning that says the new OS on my Pro doesn't open files from a Power Mac. Any idea how I can fix this?
For your addressbook, export the files to vCard on the PowerMac, then bring them over to your Mac Pro. For your iPhoto, copy the Users -> yourname -> Pictures folder to your Desktop on the Mac Pro, and open iPhoto on the Mac Pro holding the command and option keys. Select the library file from that Pictures folder and open it. It should import all the pictures into iPhoto as part of the rebuild process. Other PowerPC to Intel migration issues are covered here: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2295

Changing the directory Structure of Jsp and web.xml files
Hi,
I am using the JDeveloper 11g preview. Can any one tell me how to change the Jsp and web.xml files ( not in WEB-INF directory of the application) to another directory.
Thanks in Advance
GopalHi Frank,
Is it possible for me to change the folder structure which JDeveloper is providing for web project?
By default JDeveloper is giving the following folder structure.
In the project's root folder there is a public_html and src folder along with .jpr file.
In public_html folder thre is an WEB-INF folder and a jsp file
In WEB-INF folder there is an classes folder along with web.xml file.
I need to have the following folder structure :
The WEB-INF folder should be in root folder of project not in public_html folder
src folder must be in WEB-INF folder.
Thanks in Advance
