Sending Audio via MMS

Now that the iPhone finally has MMS, is it possible to send audio files like on other networks? For example if I have a ringtone saved, how/can I send that to someone via MMS?
Thanks!

They are completely different creatures. Apple is the absolutely the world's most locked-down DRM system possible, not just an issue with the iPhone -- it's the same reason you can't use your Apple iTuens downloaded movies, music, or ringtones on any other phone except an iPhone/iPod.

  • Send picture via MMS from iphone

google is finding lots of hits on this question but have not figured out the answer.
how do I send a picture from my "photos" and send it via MMS to another phone?
Also how do I receive a picture via MMS to my iphone?

You cannot text a picture on the iPhone
However you can email one to a MMS compatible phone if you know the service provider for the specific phone number . If you know it then you email the picture to one of this addresses(just match the service provider)
    Alltel = [email protected]
    AT&T = [email protected]
    Boost Mobile = [email protected]
    Cingular (AT&T) = [email protected]
    Einstein PCS = [email protected]
    Sprint = [email protected]
    T-Mobile = [email protected]
    US Cellular = [email protected]
    Verizon Wireless = [email protected]
    Virgin Mobile = [email protected]
When X is the phone # you want to send the picture to
You can somewhat recieve a MMS via AT&T's viewmymessages.com website but it is very slow and not reccommended

    It does do it.
    Check your mms settings.
Menu > Messaging > Settings > Multimedia Message > Image Size.
If it's set to original then it will be too big to send. Try large or small instead.

  • Can't send photos via MMS

I've had this problem before but after several tries managed to get it through, but won't work at all now.
It's from a picture snapped on the built in camera. Thinking it might be too large I downloaded it to my Mac, opened in Photoshop and downsized it quite a bit. Put it in my iPhoto album, synced with the iPhone and tried again with a file 10% as large. Same problem.
The bar for Sending goes fine but stops just before the end and stays there, eventually timing out. This is over WiFi.

Wi-FI has nothing to do with sending/receiving MMS. SMS/MMS is exchanged over the carrier's cellular network only. A photo or video sent via MMS is resized automatically.

  • How to send audio via RTP from captured device and media file together?

    Hi there,
I have this application which can send audio stream via RTP using AVTransmit.java.
In this application, there is this button which will play a short tune (via java.applet.AudioClip) when i clicked on it.
My question is, how can I transmit this short tune to the other side along with the current audio stream via RTP?
    Thank you!

    Hi there,
Thank you for the replies. I have tried creating another stream to send the media file. Although it's workable, the other side is unable to handle 2 incoming stream. The receving end does not hear a combined audio. Sometimes i hear the media file's audio, sometimes i hear the other.
Is it possible to merged the media file's audio into the existing rtp stream on the fly? Or piped the media file's audio to the capture datasource?

  • Cannot send video via MMS

i tried to send a video via mms to my friend. the video is short (about 12 seconds)
i went to the video and pressed "send via mms"  i selected my friends name  then hit send.....the message was grey, and the yellow alert triangle appeared  i clicked it   and it said   "Device is full. Dlet files to clear space".  i checked ...i had about 5GB free  i went ahead and deleted fiels i no longer need which got me up to 5.2GB  i tried to send again...and same message....anyone else having this problem?  any fixes?  i do have the latest webos update

    Hello and welcome to the forums;
I would recommend first trying a restart. Hold down the power button and move the ringer mute switch (on the right side of the phone above the volume up/down buttons) back and forth 3 times. Then let go of the power button. Within 3-5 seconds, your screen will turn off, and your phone will restart.
Try sending your message again, and let us know the results.

  • Sending Picures via MMS

I have been able to send images from my phone to people as of yesterday. I have an image taken with my phone and it is never received by anyone. When I try sending it with Messenger it works fine.
Other images work fine...is their a size limit on images?
PS is shows up in my folders as complete and sent.

Try sending MMS after having a soft reset by pulling the battery out for 30sec. You're right there is size limit for sending and receiving MMS. Most carrier allow 100KB but this solely depends on carries MMSCs capabilities and subscriber base.
There are times when service books becomes corrupter. To address that you -
If that doesn't work then delete the MMS service books from Options -> Advanced Options -> Service Books -> delete MMS Client [MMS] and your carrier MMS profile name [WPTCP].
Then go to Options -> Advanced Options -> Host Routing Table -> click Menu and select Register Now.

  • Can I send pictures via MMs with £10 everything pack from Iphone5

I am having problems sending pictures with my Iphone 5,  I have a £10 everything pack I should be able to send pictures using MMs with this pack shouldnt I.

    Hi
No Problem that's what we're here for!
Yeah if you plug your device in to iTunes and back-up all your data. For Apple help & support on backing up Click Here.
Once it's all backed if you go into Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings this will then take you to the initial set-up.
To save you having to call you can register your replacement SIM Here.
I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed that this works!
Let me know how you get on.

  • Sending Images via MMS?

Is the only way to send an image, captured with the phone or saved in the phone via Email?
Is there a way to send an image to some other phone with MMS? I mean MOST phone users dont have email on their phone...

Apple in their infinite wisdom (perhaps that should be stupidity) didn't add MMS support into the phone, so it appears you can hack your way to do it from reading that thread. But if it is that easy, why the hell didn't they add it themselves as a proper solution?

  • Sending GIFs via MMS or text message on iPhone 6

When my friends send me a GIF via text, it pops up on my screen running as expected.  However, when I send one, the animation doesn't begin until it's clicked on, and even then, it runs half-fast.  Any idea why my phone can't keep up with others' iphones?

If the GIF on your phone is fine and it is not fine on your friends phones, then their phones are the problem, not yours.

  • Can a Macbook send audio via DVI port?

I want to hook up a Macbook to an HDTV by using a mini-DVI to DVI adapter, connected to a cable that has a DVI connection on one end and an HDMI cable on the other.
Does anyone know if the min-DVI port supports audio?
The more expensive cable supports audio, but I don't want to shell out the extra money if the Macbook can't support it.

DVI does not carry an audio signal. It takes HDMI to do that. You'll need to use a separate audio cable.

  • My pictures are good quality when I take them with my iPhone 4 camera bit when I send them via mms or post on Facebook they loose a lot of quality. How can I fix this problem?

When I take photos whit my IPhone 4 camera the pictures look great but recently when I send pictures to friends or try posting them on Facebook the photos loose their quality dramatically and the ones that I sent all look blurry and bad compared tothe original. Please somebody help! I always take pictures with my iPhone and send or post them and this problem is restricting me a lit. Thanks for your help :)

when I could open iPhoto the library had tripled... photos from years ago from my iPhone and iPhoto had somehow come back onto it (even though I deleted them), the "faces" files had turned into their own photos, photos tripled (some smaller versions some bigger), and loads of random clip art and images I had never seen was on it. There was over 40,000 photos. It was so weird
Nothing weird. That happens when you import one iPhoto Library into another. Every version and thumbnail is imported like a distinct photo, you lose all your Albums, Keywords etc., the link between Original and Previews is destroyed, the non-destructive editing feature is ruined and so on. In summary: it's mess.
    As for deletions:
Drag the image from the Event to the iPhoto Trash. Empty it. Then Empty the System Trash. That removes it from the hard disk.
If that has failed in the past it was due to the Library being corrupted.

  • Non-Blackberry users are not receiving pictures I send via MMS

I have long ago come to the realization that pictures can't be sent from my Blackberry Curve 3G via SMS but whenever I send pictures via MMS to my friends who don't have Blackberries, they never get them.  Is there somewhere besides their text message inbox where they should be looking? I get all of their SMS texts w/pics attached fine.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

I have the same problem! Before the upgrade, if I wasn't connected to the internet, any messages sent to me from an iphone would convert automatically to a text message. I have payg tarriff, so I turn cell data off, as it costs too much to use it. I have wifi at home and work, but if I'm out and about, I don't receive texts from iphone users until I'm on wifi. I get them ok from non iphone users. There was never any problem until ios7

  • How do I fix my 5 c to send photos using mms

HOw can I fix my phone 5c to send photos via mms ?

MMS requires a data connection. Make sure you are connected to wifi or have a data plan with cellular data enabled here:
Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data - on
Also make sure MMS Messaging is on here:
Settings > Messages > MMS Messaging - on
