Sending contact info .vcf

When I compose a txt message (SMS) and then try to attach my contact info i get the message "At least one contact cannot be shared" what the hell am I doing wrong? I also deleted and then set it up again. nothing. If I go to Contacts and try to share any contact it says the contact cant be shared. WTF?

The attached VCF is sent over SMS as a MMS file, which is data.
Does your SMS account allow for MMS messages?

Sending contact info

How do I send contact info from my Contacts to another person by e.g. SMS? There seems to be no way to copy a contact info from one application to another in Phone...

It would be a good idea to have something like that. Here we are with a neat device that can do anything, but two people still have to manually enter contact info in front of each other. What's cool would be to just put two iPhones face to face, do some pumping motions, and whisper a secret code into the mic to initiate the contact exchange.

trying to figure out if the feature I use quite frequently on my old phones, i.e. sending contact info to friends using sms, mms, bluetooth, ... realy doesn't work on the iPhone. Thought this was as much a standard as sms as a concept, but can not find a way of doing this on the iPhone.
The normal use case is that I e.g. send all my contact info to friend in order for friend to be able to contact me using any or all means available... mail, phone, letter, ...

This is not a feature of iphone.
Maybe you can find an App that will help in the App Store.

The iPhone is simply a breakthrough... It's interface is revolutionnary.
Of course many functions are missing right now (I myself could list a good 5 cruelly missing features, but it's not the object of this answer...).
But here's a thought :
Apple is NEW at this... The most important part of a phone is...to be able to make or receive a call... that has to be ALWAYS working.
So, Apple is making sure that the iPhone is STABLE. In order to do so, it needs to proceed cautiously, adding a bunch of features aphazardly would probably cause the iphone to crash regularly, something Apple simply can't let happen : IT'S STILL A PHONE ! !
It's true Apple seems to have made some wrong choices at the beginning (ex: no third-party apps !), but they have come back from that !They will soon deliver a platform for third-party apps that will guarantee stability.
So, I am positive that the future updates will allow us to do EVERYTHING a Blackberry does (or any other phone...)in a much smoother way too...
But if being patient is the price to pay for stability, I can wait !
Some of you will argue that Apple should have work out these kinks sooner and launch a "finished" product. Do that I would answer : you've got to launch it sometimes ! If you wait too long, you might get passed by...
It seems that the iPhone is a succes despite its faults... Apple has established their customer base and I think it will now start to Deliver even more on the iPhone !
And to think I don't even own stock ! How could I write such a dithyrambic post ! !

I can't send contact info or notes from my iPhone to another iPhone via message. when i try touching the send button nothing happens.

I thought I used to be able to share contact information with another iphone user via messaging. Recently I tried sharing both contact information and "note", but have been able to do so. When I try touching the send button, nothing happens. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or, am I mistaken, is sharing via messaging not an option?

If I send via email from either iPhone or iPad it seems like it has sent but it doesn't. If I send via text message from iPhone it says message failed to send and won't send again no matter how many times I try

HT2693 what can i do when vendor contact support page can't send my info/msg due to page error and i have paid for an app that no longer works after purchase

What can i do when i purchase an app then after purchase the app fails to work. I deleted the app rebooted ipa then reinstated app. It still fails to work. I went to vendor support but when i go to send the info to them it comes up with unable to send msg due to page error. I am not happy. My child loved the app now it wont even open. Any help???

Here si what I do:
Since I tend to message with teh same people I leave the messages available to me. If you are in one conversation with "Karen" and want to message with "Kathy" tap the message back arrow and select Kathy.
As always just be careful to rememeber who you are messaging to!

Business card/vCard is exchanged through MMS and not by SMS.
Make sure your MMS is configured and activated and you have cellular data/3G ON while exchanging MMS.

I must be more specific:
I am attempting to send a vcf from a Windows Computer using Outlook to another Email account that syncs with an iPhone. When I read the e-mail on the iPhone, I can't see the vcf file. But I can see the contact on outlook as a VCF.

IOS7 update deletes my contact info when I send a text, why?

Since the IOS7 update I have been losing my contact info (Most recent saved numbers within 2-3 months) when I send a text message and when they respond it comes back as a blank number and no name. I send goup text quite often and I have to go to to that numbered text to see who it is. I found the problem. If you set your text alert tone to none. The phone will not make a message sent sound. I set it to Tritone and it started make the sound again.

When i send a contact by email the email is received but without the contact info.

I have the same problem. Sought to insert a pdf into Apple Mail after editing a form pdf and only the blank form shows. I didn't use Preview to generate the form, just Acrobat. And, the filled in form inserts perfectly into an email when I use Outlook for Mac. Problem only with Apple Mail.

Shut off Auto Direct Send of contact info

I just upgraded my 8350i and now it always sends the direct connect info. I went into the options and changed the "Auto Send My Info" to OFF and it still sends it..... Any help would be appreciated...

Backup for contact info on Pre

My Palm pda allowed me to backup calendar and contact information onto my computer. Although I understand that my calendar is backed-up through Google Calendar, I don't know how to backup all the contact info on my phone.

Hello and welcome to the forums;
Google also can back up your contact information the same way it backs up your calendar. In the Contacts app under Preferences and Accounts, set Google as your Default Account, and every future contact you enter will be backed up to google, and you can see all of those contact records on your device as well as in Gmail.
As for information that is currently in your phone, if you did not have google as the default account, those contacts are stored to the Palm Profile. If you want to copy that information to google, for each contact you can tap Send Contact > Send via Email and that will create a .VCF file for that contact that can then be imported into google. This is currently an individual process, and would need to be repeated for each contact to be copied.

Go into your contacts click on the person you want to send, when the info opens scroll down to the bottom and click share contact it will as it you want to email or mms.
