Sending data to USB port !

Hi,
I have a transmitter card and receiver card which fits to USB port. I need to send bulk data, may be video from one system to other, both running windows OS (98/ME or 2000).
I went through the USB postings and saw something about TWAIN driver for USB scanner. My primary purpose is to check that I can transfer bulky data with high band-width (11mbps) through this TX/RX cards. ANy data transfer will do.
Can anyone suggest me a good solution!!!
My OS is windows and so I guess jUSB and JSR-80 will not work!
please help!

What drivers com with yoyur TX/RX cards?
How does windows see them?
Do they look like extra serial ports?
Is a C/C++ api provided?
Can you provide a link to the manufacturers web site?

Problem in sending data to parallel port

Hello,
I can open a parallel port (LPT1) using java comm api i,e javax.comm.
but problem in sending data to parallel port,
I choose the appropriate port(LPT1), it is in bi-directional mode according to BIOS configuration.
but according to the java program the mode is SSP.
when i write data to parallel port the volt-meter give a reading of high state for all data pin (pin1 to 9) i,e the parallel port doesnot change state. I am using windows XP.
What is the solution?

try it on Open Solaris 10 or Linux platform.
also just try using the new FileWriter("LPT1").write("Hello");
on windows platform

I do the exact thing you are looking for,
I spool out a text file using text_io
the file will either contain a double ^G or an epson escape sequence, depending on the drawer type connected.
I then copy this file to the port using a copy function id d2kwutil
Works perfectly, but god knows how I'll do it if we want to run the point of sale over the web :)

Native Extension to read\send data via USB.

Hi all. Is there any way to obtain or send data to USB-devices connected directly to my android-based phone? Application must recieve data coming from usb-device, and send response if requested.
Saw solutions to make that on desktop apps (adruino ANE), but there is nothing for mobile (to android, for example).
Any ideas? There is solution for Java (on android community) to get devices and so on, but i'm not interested in Java.

EMac to iMac - How do I transfer data when USB ports don't work?

I just bought a new iMac to replace my old eMac and I need to transfer the data from the eMac to the iMac - here's the problem - the USB ports on the eMac aren't working, the devices work fine like keyboard & mouse but the USB ports are dead. I can't hold down any keys as it starts up to make it a fire wire device etc. So how can I do this??

i'm looking to send commands over a usb cable to a device via xcode or cocoa. i know leopard did away with rs232 commands, so i'm looking for some sample code that sends a command via objective-c over a usb cable.

USB Port keeps crashing my portable storage devices

Ok no matter if it's an external hard drive or a usb flash drive, while transferring data my usb port will just die. The Device Removal window will pop up. If it's my flash drive then the light will keep flashing repeatedly. For the external portable hard drive i just keep hearing the disk start and stop spinning simultaneously. Anyone know how I would go about fixing this problem?

Hi Dave, not long winded at all.
I think you'vve narrowed it down to the OS & Install.
Does the Retrospect Installer have an uninstaller?
Might try AppDelete...

Even if you have to Install Retrospect again to be sure of finding it's files.
What Format is the External?
Also, WD MyBooks are not a good choice for PPC Macs...

WRT610N USB port locks up during file copy

Brand new wrt610n works like a charm except for the USB port. We bought the router specifically for that feature and we got a small USB drive to attach to it. Problem is, when backing up a workstation using just file copy of no more than 5G of data, the USB port hangs up. Can't get to it via the management we interface storage tab. The rest of the router continues to function properly. The USB light stays on. Disconnecting the drive from the router and reconnecting causes the USB light to go off but it doesn't come back on. A router reset corrects the locked USB port. The drive functions properly connected to a workstation or our DVR.
Is this broken hardware or broken software?

Checked the firmware for updates but nothing on this problem. The drive is a WD 750g USB 2.0. Tech support wants me to reflash the router just incase the firmware was corrupted.
If that doesn't work, I suppose I could reformat the drive with the Linksys router management software. I didn't have to do that because it recognized the drive right out of the box as FAT2. This drive works fine attached to one fo the PCs.

You can try a package named: JTwain, which is available at http://asprise.com/product/jtwain.
JTwain supports all kinds of digital cameras and scanners. You can use Java to access, contorl digital cameras and scanners, and of course, to acquire images with flexible settings.

In the simplest case, one line of Java code can solve your problem.

I need an equipment with an entry USB port to send a wav file and exit I & Q

We are working with an equipment consisted in a transmitter and a receiver.At the end we have 2 computers,we are trying to send a wav file through USB port from one computer and converted to I & Q signal (that supports our transmitter).
On the other end we have to convert from I & Q signals to a signal who can interprete the USB port.
Our ask is if exists an equipment which could do these two fuctions.

We have data acquisition (DAQ) devices that have a USB interface. You could send a .wav file to an analog output of a USB-DAQ device and you could acquire an analog signal (with analog inputs on a USB-DAQ device) and write that to a .wav file with another USB-DAQ device.
What is an I&Q signal? You need to give more information on what what characteristics are needed for a signal to be I&Q. I have included a link below to a USB-DAQ device within our on-line catalog for you to take a look at.

How do I send the iPhoto events from my iMac to my iPad when the two devices are connected by USB port?

I connected my iPad to my iMac via USB port. I want to send my iPhoto events/files to my iPad. I cannot find the right instructions. It appears to me that the iPad sync only transmits data from the iPad to the iMac, but I am trying to send iPhotos from the iMac to the iPad. Do I use export or sync?

You need to use iTunes to sync photos.
Connect your iPad to your computer. Launch iTunes. Select Photos from the menu. Click the Sync button bottom right side of the iTunes window.

HP Pavilion dv6 USB ports don't transfer data

My USB ports stopped transferring data a few days ago, immediately following an update; however, they continue to provide power to my peripherals.
Any insight into this problem or its solution would be greatly appreciated!

You will need to reinstall the original chipset drivers.
Go to the Start Menu -> click on All Programs -> click on Recovery Manager (open recovery manager).
From there, under "I Need Help Immediately" you'll need to select Hardware Driver Reinstallation -> click on Next. When you see the list of drivers available select "ATi (or AMD) VGA Driver" and click next. once it's done hit finish, then it will restart your computer and you can test it out.
If this didn't work, reply with your specific model number or PN (product number).
