Sending Diagnostic Info to Apple with Every Sync

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes and deleting the diagnostic info folder but I am being constantly prompted to send diagnostic info to apple before my iPhone will sync. I've obviously checked the box that says not to ask me again but it just keeps on asking anyway. How do I stop it? It's driving me crazy and I just want to be able to pop my phone on the dock and have it sync. Please help.

This is caused by an application "crashing" on your iPhone. Something like the browser closing on you unexpectedly and returning you to the home screen.
I have gotten this before, and I thought there was a check box on that pop up that said "Always do this"... so if you press do not send, it would never pop up the box again and not send anything.

  • The same photos are transferring from iphone 3gs to computer with every sync

I have a bunch of photos & videos that transfer to my computer with every sync. How can I get only the new photos to sync?

  • Some movies on iPad are removed and reloaded with every sync.

Recently some, only some, of my movies already loaded on my various iDevices are removing themselves, then reloading on every sync.   (Note: "Movies" is a loose term herein, it includes all video forms; Home Video, TV, Movies....)
    In attempts to fix this situation, I have;
Talked to the local Apple Store Personnel 3x, no one knows what is wrong.
Talked with Sr. Apple Advisor who did not know what was wrong, he escalated the issue to Apple Engineering on 6/20/14.  (Sr. Advisor has been called back regarding this ticket 3-4x, has only returned my call the first time to advise he is still waiting on Engineering....  Sorry, but this time line is getting really bad without a response from Sr. or Engineering.  What is going on with Customer Care?  Added Frustration.)
Apple Engineering does not apparently know what to do, as there has been no response in 2 months.
    Giving up on the above 3 bullets, I have;
    Deleted/Re-downloaded offending movies.
    Removed/Reinstalled iTunes App on MacBook.
Removed iTunes App and all of its' extra "strands" on MacBook, the reinstalled iTunes from Apple.
Created an external iTunes Media folder, pointed iTunes to that folder, then downloaded movies to that location.
Searched the web relentlessly to find someone else with reference to this issue.
All of the above has not corrected the situation.  The movies in question are random, some purchased 1+ years ago, some purchased 1 month ago.  I have to think this is an iTunes issue since this issue is reflected on all of my devices.
    Any advice is appreciated.
    Thank you.

    iTunes does not stream.
    You are downloading the video.
After a sufficient amount has downloaded, you can begin watching it.

  • I don't want to send diagnostic information to Apple...

This is quite a strange question to ask, but how do I turn off the feature which sends off diagnostic information to Apple? Apparently it slows down the speed of syncing, which in comparison to my iPod Classic, my 4G is taking AGES.
I've tried to reset warnings, but to no avail. Cheers.

  • Sending Genius info to Apple after upgrade to version 10.2 - taking forever

I updated to version 10.2 yesterday. This morning I found that it was sending Genius information to Apple (my iMac is on 24/7) - it has been doing this now for at least 4.5 hours.
I do have a very large library that is made up mostly of movies (783) and TV programmes (1446 episodes) - in fact my iTunes library is on a Drobo and currently stands at 2.79TB. Still, what info could it be sending that would take so long? Or, is it simply stuck in a never ending loop?

I'm just glad this happened before I went out and bought and iPad. I was very happy with the iPod despite the fact that it doesn't run Flash and the only way to get anything into it is through iTunes. Now It seems that Apple really isn't any better than Microsoft. They BROKE a perfectly good product and now it seems that their support forums are just a place where the customers can talk about how good their stuff USED to work before the 'upgrade'.
There doesn't even appear to be an Apple rep on these forums. We might as well be posting at hackers.com.

What do mean by reloading? Once you sync the photos to the iPad they should not sync again. Is that what you are seeing? The progress bar is showing that the photos are being transferred all over again?

  • My MacBook laptop will suddenly instruct me to shutdown. A black transparent message appears and instructs me to shutdown. Then when I reboot, it tells me to send the info to Apple. What is causing this to happen?

MacBook laptop suddenly posts a black transparent message on my screen in several different languages instructing me to shutdown the computer. After rebooting, another message appears instructing me to send the information to Apple. This has begun to happen on a regular basis. What is the issue?

That's a kernel panic. the cause can be a software conflict or a hardware problem, so it's not easy to say without more information what can be done.
    Here is the Knowledgebase article which may help you diagnose the problem;

  • ICal Sync creates strange duplicates with every sync

    Hi guys,
I read quite a few threads here as well as googled for my problem, but none of the solutions helped. I don't know if it's just a sync error or more to it, but this is happening (it started probably after updating to iOS 6.1 - before that everything was fine):
Usually syncing between my Macbook Pro and my iPhone 4S was flawless. If I made changes in my iCal on my iPhone I could see the new events on my Macbook Pro iCal as well (after the sync obviously) and the same vice versa.
However, after the update (I suppose) to iOS 6.1 all the changes that I made to my iCal on my iPhone didn't sync anymore to my iCal on my Macbook Pro. If I added a new event on my Macbook Pro iCal it was synced to my iPhone 4S - so far so good. However, if I make a change to an already existing event in my iCal on my MBP and then sync with my iPhone again it doesn't apply the change on my iPhone, but creates a new event.
So, in most cases I change the time of the event, but instead of syncing the new time a new event is created. The same goes if I change the location or name. The time stays the same, but a new event is created with the changed name and suddenly I have to events at the same time.
Meanwhile my iPhone iCal is devastated with events all over the place so that there's no use possible.
I checked all my settings in iTunes as well as on my iPhone, but can't find any setting wrong.
    Need your help, guys!
    Thank you!

Is your calendar in the mac OK? if so export an archive, look where it goes, write that down.
Then Quit the calendar from the menu.
The iPhone: hold both the Power and Home buttons at the same time, keep holding, until you see the white apple logo and then let go. let it start completely.
    1. Start iTunes on the mac, connect the iPhone, uncheck "sync automatically", check "calendar" in the "advanced" paragraph on the bottom of the "info" page, then sync. The iOS calendar should now be correct again. Check that.
If not correct post that here with the #1 as identifier.
    2. If correct, make or change one calendar entry in the Mac in tomorrow's day. Then sync, is that change coming correct in the iOS calendar? If not post it here #2.
    3. If it is correct, make a new entry for tomorrow in the iOS calendar. then sync. Is that correct?
If not post it here with #3.

  • Sending diagnostic information to apple?

Ok, I get this pop up window every now and then when syncing or checking for iphone updates? Is this common for everyone?

This is caused by an application "crashing" on your iPhone. Something like the browser closing on you unexpectedly and returning you to the home screen.

  • Send Diagnostic Information EVERY sync

    Hi all,
I purchased an iPod Touch last week and it is great in all respects. However, every time I sync with iTunes, I get the prompt to "send diagnostic information" to Apple. I always choose "Send to Apple", but I do not check "Do not ask me again" b/c I want to know when it is sending something.
That said, the issue seems to be that the crash logs are never deleted. This causes iTunes to prompt me to send diagnostic information to apple, even when there is no new information. For example, clicking "show details" reveals crash logs from several days back, even though I have already sent them to Apple.
Is iTunes supposed to delete the logs it sends? If so, what is wrong with my iPod?
I appreciate any help you can provide (short of "buy a mac"), and thank you in advance.

The next time you get this message, click the checkbox "Do No Ask Me Again," and click the "Don't Send" button. The annoying messages should stop. The crash logs should be stored on iTunes, but it's you don't have to delete them; they might have useful information.
(I chuckled when I read your "short of 'buy a mac'" remark. But seriously, current prices are unusually competitive.)

  • Genius can't send info to Apple

The very first time I ran Genius it worked perfectly but when I tried to sync my iphone it wouldn't sync so I turned genuius off. Now when I try to turn Genius back on again it gives me this error:
*"Genius results can't be updated right now. An unknown error occurred (-50). Please try again later"*. It works fine when it collects data about my library but it's when it tries to send the info to Apple that it shows me the error. I'm guessing (and hoping) that this is an issue with the itunes servers and not with my PC. Anyone having similar issues? Any fixes I could try?
    Thanks

I decided to check whether genius would work on another log on account on the same computer (in xp) and it worked like a charm (syncing w/iphone works too). So I simply rebuilt my itunes library on the other account by redirecting itunes to my old library. It still ***** that I had to do that, but at least it works now. I don't know why it didn't work in my windows account, it's exactly the same library! Oh well...

  • Piggy back values with every method invocation

    Hi,
I have a setup where , many of my application users are mapped to
    Realm Users of WLS.
I do the initial mapping of Application users to RealmUsers
(example: harish --> joeuser and scott --> joeuser) and
create a InitialContext using "joeuser", when "harish" logs in.
All further accesses ( lookup etc.. ) on the EJB's are made using the
    InitialContext created using "joeuser" .
("harish" does not exist in the WLS realm).
Now, when I call a EJB , I need to know at the EJB end that
the user is actually "harish" ...so that I cud use this information
    for
    logging purposes..
Is there any way of sending this information("harish") , "piggyback"
    with every request ?
NOTE: I do not want to include a applicationuser parameter to every
    method call.
    Am using WLS 6.1 SP2.
Any info will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Harish

    Hi
u can create a static startup class which will read the mappings from a
XML file in a static block and all apps can query this static class for
getting the external or internal user id.
    thanx

  • IPod Touch, iOS6, "Other" memory increasing every sync?

I have noticed that since the "update" to 6.0, my iPod touch has an increasing amount of "other" memory with every sync. The amount of "other" increases by about 400 mb every time I sync it. Even when I synced it twice in a row with no new podcasts or anything at all that would have been different from the sync just performed.
I restored it from backup, and the "other" memory stayed the same. When it got up to 14 GB, I restored and set up as "new", and the "other" memory dropped back to normal, then immediately started increasing with each sync.
I de-selected the only 2 apps that have updated recently, the only thing I couldn't undo is iOS 6. Other than that, I have done nothing different than I've been doing for the 2+ years I've had it.
Is there something I have set wrong in the settings since it's a touch and not a phone? I didn't change anything when 6 was installed, should I?
I really don't want to have to restore this thing as "new" every month!

Thanks for your reply.  I saw those threads and a few others when I searched earlier, but not the one about Safari. I don't use Safari often, but I will try clearing the cache. That's the only one of those things I haven't tried.
I wondered what the "other" was a long time ago, and looked it up. It was behaving normally until recently, after the iOS update, when it started gaining .2-.5 GB per sync. And restoring as "new" didn't stop that, it only reset the "other" to a normal size.
I mainly use this iPod for podcasts & mp3, and watching videos. A few other apps, nothing new added or changed that I could maybe think might be the cause.
