Sending duplicates

I'm having trouble with Mail send messages twice. Doesn't happen all the time, but occasionally it will do it all the time for a day or so, and then go back to being normal. Any ideas?

I have the problem as well. Since I've been applying for jobs, it's embarrassing to see that up to five emails were sent to a prospective employer. I think the similar condition seems to be an email with an attachment.
I'm hoping that web based .mac mail won't do this, and will definitely send emails with attachments this way until I find a solution (and will post it here if I do...)

  • Sending Duplicate emails using Mail and mBox for mac

I have been sending duplicate emails inadvertantly recently.  It seems it's when I use mBox for mac (registered copy) in Mail to use my Hotmail with IMAP.
I hadn't noticed it at first, but now I see everytime I send a mail I get 2 copies in my sent box.  I can turn off the store sent messages on server option to fix it (but that's the whole point of having IMAP!!), or I can turn off mBox for mac and it also seems to work (but then I can't use IMAP!).    I've also tried on the same machine from gmail, and iCloud accounts (MobileMe), and I had no issue at all.  I've also tried 2 different Hotmail accounts, and both of them send double messages every time I send.
I've searched for a loooooong time, and can't find anyone with a similar issue - but surely I'm not the only one?  I think anyone still using a hotmail account will eventually install something like mBox for mac if they've gone Mac recently - as I have.
I checked the mail headers of the 2 mails, and they are quite different (masked where appropriate) -

I'm surprised I can't find anyone else with a similar issue.  I've submitted a support ticket with mBox/fluent factory, but I'm still not convinced it's their issue, and possibly a Mail on Mac issue.
Does anybody have any suggestions?  Thanks for your help!

    @ Kokola
Great staff!!! MBox Fluent Factory is very poor app.
I was having problem with duplicated sent emails and cleaning up my inbox, sent items and deleting emails. Try to contact them via email for over 3 months and never got a reply!
I just used the suggested configuration and my Entourage (email app for MAC) is working perfetcly. I can visualise all my online folders now!
    Thank you so much!
mBox never addressed the issue and the duplicated emails reached new levels of annoyance but the good thing is that Hotmail and Outlook.com finally rolled out support for IMAP.
    Incoming Mail Server: imap-mail.outlook.com
    Outgoing Mail Server: smtp-mail.outlook.com

No more duplication issues once you switch over, and no need for a third party (mBox)software to bridge the missing feature gap.

  • My sms texts are still sending duplicates to some contacts

i'm still finding my iPhone 5c sends duplicate sms texts to some of my contacts. Marco49 suggested one solution but I'm sorry to say that didn't solve the problem.

Are you referring to an actual SMS, or an iMessage? If iMessage, do you have your settings set to Send As SMS if iMessage fails? It could be they are temporarily out of data range, or you could be as well, but it was just enough to begin the send. Are these text bubbles blue or green?
If this is an actual SMS, then I suggest that you contact your carrier, as SMS is a carrier function.

  • Sending duplicate text messages

My phone is sending duplicate text messages whenever I send to my contacts.  How do I stop this?
I've noticed this on my RAZR Maxx and now my HTC One M8.

        Mclindy,
Lets stop the maddness so your friends only get signal messages when you send them. I know you moved from the Maxx to the M8. Did this start right away with the M8 or did it take a little bit of time? Do you use the native Messaging app that came with the phone or one that was downloaded from the Play Store?

  • Reimaging Computers and SCCM sending duplicate updates

We image computers with Ghost and use the same computer name they originally had on the network once they are imaged.
The intent of the latest image is to be fully updated to this point before it is pushed (Via Ghost) to the computers.
We fully updated the image and pushed it out to a few test PC's and we are using computer names that are already on the Domain and in SCCM.
The problem is SCCM thinks that our imaged computers need updates.
I believe these updates are ones that the computers didnt get before they were imaged, as like I said the image should have all the updates.
We want to assure that the images are updated and SCCM isnt pushing duplicates to the boxes.
My guess is that SCCM believes it is talking to the old system vs the new one with the updates.
Does anyone have any insight on how to fix this.
    Thank you in advance.
    MILADMIN

The problem is SCCM thinks that our imaged computers need updates.
This is really a question for the Configuration Manager Software Updates forum..
but why do YOU think that a NEWLY IMAGED system would not need updates?
I believe these updates are ones that the computers didnt get before they were imaged
I'm intensely inclined to concur. Unless you made that image since Tuesday, August 13th, it's *impossible* that the image would be fully patched! Ergo any system built from that image is, by definition, NOT fully patched and WILL need more patches.
We want to assure that the images are updated and SCCM isnt pushing duplicates to the boxes.
Whether the images are updated or not has absolutely nothing to do with Software Updates.
As for duplicate patches.. for almost 20 years Windows Update and it's associated enterprise products, all based on the Windows Update Agent, have successfully patched systems without sending duplicate updates to a client -- not ONCE! Why would you be concerned
that an architecture that's existed for over a dozen years might suddenly screw your environment up when it hasn't done so in the previous dozen years? :-)
My guess is that SCCM believes it is talking to the old system vs the new one with the updates.
I think you're overthinking the situation. Your guess is totally inaccurate. A *NEW* system has a *NEW* identifier (GUID), and it's impossible to confuse a newly imaged system with a previously existing system.
The *OLD* system, at worse, is orphaned in Configuration Manager and needs to be deleted.
Does anyone have any insight on how to fix this.
So your assumption is that it's broken???

You can try an app like PhoneView (Mac) or TouchCopy (Mac or PC). Both will allow you to archive text messages to your computer.

  • Outlook sends duplicate emails

Some users may have encounter the issue that Outlook sends duplicate emails to the recipients, this can be really frustrating as the
causes can be varied so that it’s really hard to troubleshoot . In this article, some most common causes will be introduced, which helps us troubleshoot this kind of
    issue.
    Send emails on Web first
Before we determine whether it is a server side issue or Outlook client side issue, please logon the webmail, or OWA for Exchange Accounts, send some test emails to have
the recipients to check again whether they receive duplicate emails. If the recipients don’t receive duplicate emails, we can tell it is probably an Outlook client issue.
    Anti-Virus program
As some Anti-Virus programs may have been integrated with Outlook to keep the users from spams and viruses, it may also bring some issues sometimes. The program may also scan the outgoing emails and bring troubles, such as making the emails sent multiple
    times.
Contact the program provider to know how to disable the integration with Outlook, and exit the Anti-Virus program temporarily, send test emails to see the result.
Similar to Anti-Virus program integration, it can be some add-ins, we can run Outlook in Safe Mode as well:
Run -> Type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box -> OK.
If the issue is gone when Outlook is running in Safe Mode, disabling the add-ins which may fix the
    problem.
    Send/Receive interval conflict
In Outlook we can set an interval according to which Outlook performs a Send/Receive task. Imagine there is an email with a large attachment needs to send, the sending process starts in the first Send/Receive task, but doesn’t complete when the second Send/Receive
starts. Then Outlook may try to send the email again during the second Send/Receive task, which ends up with two same emails in the recipient’s Inbox.
In Outlook 2013, under SEND / RECEIVE tab, click Send/Receive Groups -> Define Send/Receive Groups. We can then see the window below:
The default interval is 30 minutes, if you think it’s too long you can make it shorter. My suggestion is not to set the interval too short, it should be at least 10 minutes, especially when you have multiple accounts setup in Outlook and always need to send
    emails with attachments.
    Server Timeouts
This is particular for IMAP and POP accounts. When we have a slow Internet or the latency is high, Outlook may not get response from the Server in time, thus Outlook considers the connection to the server is lost, by default, after 1 minute.
However, if the message has actually been sent in the bad Internet condition, but Outlook doesn’t get a response from the server, it may still try to submit the message in the Outbox in the next Send/Receive task.
We can increase the Server Timeouts to 2 or 3 minutes in this scenario, it will be more probably that Outlook can get the correct response from the server if the message is sent.
    For IMAP:
    For POP:
    IMAP Sent Items options
This is only for IMAP accounts. The recipient may not receive duplicate emails but the sender gets duplicate emails in the Sent Items folder.
In Outlook, there are options for us to decide to save the sent items or not for IMAP accounts.
    Outlook 2010:
    Outlook 2013:
The IMAP account provider may also save a copy on the Server, if you have configured to save a copy in Outlook, this may result in duplicate. In Outlook 2010, select “Do not save copies of sent items” under Sent Items tab; In Outlook 2013, check “Do not
save copies of sent items” under Advanced tab. Then send test emails to check the result.
Another thing to check is under FILE tab -> Options -> Mail -> Save messages -> Save copies of messages in the Sent Items folder, we can uncheck this option to see the result. What we should note is it’s a global option that applies to all accounts.
If your provider doesn’t save emails on the server, it’s better not to uncheck this setting.
To know if the provider saves the sent emails on the server, contact them or check the webmail settings.

  • TS3276 Mail has started sending duplicates of a message, especially group messages.  It also opens 2 windows for writing a new email.  Help.

Mail has started sending duplicates of a message, especially group messages.  It also opens 2 windows for writing a new email.  Help. How do I fix this?

Unfortunately there isn't official commercial support for Mozilla Thunderbird from Mozilla Corp.. I believe some contributors here ([http://mozilla.magicfab.ca myself included]) do offer such support, though.
''Before doing anything else, please do exit Thunderbird completely and [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-tb#w_backing-up-a-profile backup the profile folder] - it contains all your email, settings, filters, etc.''
Regarding your issue, it looks like the mail folder information may be corrupt. In the left pane, in the folder list, right-click on the Sent folder and select '''Properties'''. Choose "'''Rebuild Index'''" or "'''Repair Folder'''" - do you even have that option? Once done, exit TB completely and restart it.
Updating to a newer version will help anyone help you, if only because some of the documentation for older Thunderbird versions is a bit harder to find and testing to try & reproduce your problem will be harder. Don't do this just yet, though :)
After this issue has been addressed I would suggest considering using IMAP if your provider allows you to, and of course archiving your email to Local Folders and doing regular backups of your profile.
If you want to arrange commercial support, contact me via the link I provided above and we can discuss rapidly. Otherwise I am fine continuing here, however I can only reply as time permits. I am in Montreal (so, EST time zone).

  • 301 sending duplicate texts

For the first six months of its life I never had a problem with the phone. However, throughout the past two weeks, the thing wants to send duplicate texts every time I send a text; or so it would appear.
I couldn't work out why I was spending an unusual amount of money on texts so I had a look at my phone usage online. The usage states that each text has been sent 3, 4, 5, sometimes up to 10 times! The phone only shows that it has sent each message once and the recepients only receive the message once, as it turns out. This has been happening regardless of my location. Sometimes it even decides to send a text on its own.
The first couple of days I suspected it was the fault of the service provider. Then I discovered that removing the battery from the phone and then placing it back in prevents the first couple of texts from being sent more than once; however, after a few moments it starts being silly again.
Is this likely to be a problem with the phone itself or with the service provider? The phone still has the original software on it ( I don't see why that would cause any problems now since it never did before ), so I thought about updating it until I noticed everyone experiencing problems with the latest software.

You could try your sim in another phone and see if the same thing happens, most likely its your provider at fault here.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Prevent Sharepoint 2010 workflow to send duplicate emails

I have SharePoint 2013 as environment but am using SharePoint 2010 workflow on a list. There is a field in this list called "Order Status" which has different status such as Processing, Shipped, Cancelled, Hold. There is another list which updates
this Order Status. I have the workflow send out an email when the Order Status changes to Processing and another email when Order Status changes to Shipped.
The issue is that there are multiple emails being sent out when any of these status changes to either Processing or Shipped. There is no other workflow attached to this list
How do I prevent the workflow to send duplicate emails? I have seen that a flag could be setup to track the email sent once but that method does not work correctly and it still sends out duplicate emails. Or maybe I am not doing this correctly
Any suggestions, comments or have anyone resolved this successfully
    Thanks Snehal H.Rana SharePoint Consultant

    Hi Snehal
If you check the workflow history, you will probably see that every time an item is added or modified, the workflow runs twice. That’s why you’re receiving two email notifications.
The reason for this is timing. If your workflow is very short and the SharePoint server is very slow, the first instance of the workflow may finish well before the item is fully saved and committed to SharePoint. As the item is being processed, the workflow
event receiver can fire again, and start another instance of the workflow.
The solution for this problem is to add a step at the end of your workflow which will pause the workflow for a few minutes .
Another Option is to use a Flag. For Setting up flag correctly check the following link

  • CFMAIL sending duplicate messages

I am using ColdFusion 11 on a Windows Virtual Server 2008.  The CFMAIL tag is producing duplicate messages (3 each time with IE11 and 2 each time with FireFox.  Numerous tests have produced the same results.  I tested with and without the mail spooler enabled - no change.  The code is simple. no loops, no query, no double-click of the 'send' button.  I have seen other complaints about this in other forums with the only solution being "to disable CF scripts that start/stop the mail spooler".  1) Does anyone have a suggestion?  2) How would I disable the CF Script to start/stop the spooler?  Robert

RM, not your answer, but note that you’ve asked this on the CFBuilder forums. That’s the CF IDE (integrated development environment, or editor).
You will want to ask this on the CF Forum or one of its subforums instead (perhaps the ColdFusion Server Administration one). It and they are listed at https://forums.adobe.com/community/coldfusion.

  • MAIL IS EATING SENT MAIL AND SENDING DUPLICATES

    hi-
i've been having MAJOR mail issues. the biggest are .mac mail is eating my sent email - they just disappear into thin air - never to be found again.
and i've noticed there are duplicates - 2, and sometime 4 of the same email sent out.
i am using the mail.mac.com as incoming and outgoing server. i have sbc global as my dsl. i've called applecare numerous times and sbc. they cannot figure it out.
can someone please help me sort this out?
    thanks so much
    rainey

well...that's the tricky part. sometimes it eats my mail. and other times it sends out duplicates.
it tends to do this if i've just sent an email and i go into my sent box shortly after, all of a sudden it'll show up and then poof - disappear.
other times if i'm not looking at what i've sent i'll ocassionally look in sent box and notice there are 2, 3 and sometime 4 dups sent to the same person.
these are just 2 problems of the MANY that i've had with email.
also when i have a disc in my drive (say scrabble game) my minimize options disappear...
    i'm all jacked up.
any advice on any is greatly appreciated.
a friend thinks my box is corupted b/c i started it when i was still operating on panther and when i upgraded to tiger problems started.

  • My Z3 is sending duplicate texts, how do I stop it

I have had my Z3 for 4 months now and I love it but it has 1 problem that I don't seem to be able to solve. Sometimes it will send multiple duplicate copies of an SMS text. I mean 4 or 5 copies of the same message, usually straight after 1 another. However, yesterday, I restarted my phone, as GPS would not turn off, and then shortly after I got a text from a friend asking why I has sent her a message about the weather. I hadn't, it was an SMS from some 30 hours earlier, that she had received 4 times at the time I sent it and now again a day later?? How can I stop this from happening? Regards Chris

I suggest that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion..
Before repairing your device you may want to backup your information first. Check out this topic for more information on how to.
    How to backup?
If the issue should still remain I think that this needs to be examined and fixed at a repair center. For more information about how to submit your phone for repair and where, contact your local support team.

  • SOAPConnection sends duplicate payload on SocketException?

Using the version of SAAJ (1.2.2) provided in JWSDP 1.6, it appears that something within the implementation of SOAPConnection's call(message, uri) method will try to re-transmit the message if a SocketException occurs or if the connection receives a RST segment.
    Does this seem correct?
I have established a test server where I consume the request sent via:
    SOAPMessage response = connection.call(request, endPoint);
and do a close() on the Socket (on the server side), without sending a response back. This triggers a SocketException on the client (desired), but, in monitoring the TCP/IP traffic between the two ports, I can confirm that the contents of 'request' get transmitted twice (undesired!) by the client.
This seems like a bad idea; if I was performing a financial transaction that removed money from my account, I'd hate to have the deduction submitted twice because of some network hiccup.
What I want to do, is accept the SocketException (or whatever) in response, and handle the communications myself (not have the implementation automatically try to recover, or whatever it's doing), so that I can ask the server whether it received the original payload, and resend it if needed.
Any ideas, experience, or insight on this?
    Thanks!

Hm, swapping out 1.2.2 and using the Axis 1.3 implementation results in desired behavior; an interruption to the original transaction does not result in a duplicate being sent. Not sure if this is just a matter of difference in implementation, or a bug in the JWSDP libraries ...
