Sending E-Mail from iPhone

I need help sending e-mail from my iPhone. What is Host Name, Description and SMTP. Every time I try to send an e-mail from my iPhione it is rejected.

You will need to provide that yourself based on whatever email provider you are using. Is this an email account from your ISP, or is it something like Yahoo, Hotmail. You need to get those settings from the email provider.

Authsmtp will send an email to you to confirm that you are who you say you are. Be sure to follow the instructions in this email so that your account is activated.

Sending e-mail from iPhone SG S

I installed new update for my iPhone last night and ended up with an error so had to go back to the copy I'd made. Now, everything is on my phone just fine but it will not send my e-mail. it says "sender address invalid" however I have the correct address etc. in the setting. HELP

What type of email account are you using? Is it a POP, IMAP, Exchange, or MobileMe account?
How is the iPhone connecting to the Internet? Does the issue only occur while connecting to the Internet over Wi-Fi or the cellular network?

Why am I unable to send e mails from my iPhone, and get message rejected by server and message put in outbox. I have tried changing server ports but to no avail. I am not very technically minded so any suggestions in laymans terms please. This is a big problem as I work away frequently and need to answer e mails. This also happens when at home and on my own wifi.

Sending e-mails from my iPhone

For the last few days I have not been able to send e-mails from my iPhone. I get the error message, "connecting to the outgoing server "null" failed". I use Yahoo Mail. I am still receiving e-mails without a problem and all my mail folders are being updated. Does anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this? I have used this function successfully for months so I don't know what is suddenly causing a problem.

For first approach to any issue, reboot.
A reset/reboot is:
Go to Home Screen
Press and Hold Home Button
Keep holding and press and hold Lock Button
Keep holding Both
You will see Slide to Turn Off (Don't let go to slide, just keep holding)
The phone will turn off (in time, but screen will look like it has some white lines)
Keep Holding
When you see the Apple Logo, you can let go.
Turning off via the Slide to Turn off while good and fine to turn off, is more like the Sleep Mode on a computer. Thus any locked up issues in memory remain when you turn back on. A reboot as described is like doing a real Turn off and Turn On on a computer.

Exchange Mail will not Send mail from Iphone when Desktop computer Shutdown

A client of mine has an Iphone that I have setup to connect to his Microsoft Exchange 2003 Server using Activesync. Everything works fine and dandy until he shutdown his desktop in his office. Than he is no longer able to send any mail from his Iphone but is able to receive it no problem. Anyone have any insight on this problem?

Your problem is with Cox and Cox not having an authenticated SMTP server.
Not many ISPs provide an authenticated SMTP server and I'm not sure why - especially with laptops and devices such as the iPhone so popular.
I'm a Time Warner/RoadRunner customer for cable and internet access and I quit using my RR email account several years ago for this very reason. I switched to using my .Mac account as my primary personal email account which has an authenticated SMTP server. I'm able to send messages with the account regardless the internet service provider used for internet access. My business POP account also has an authenticated SMTP server and no problems sending with this account either - via a number of different Wi-Fi connections and EDGE.
I suggest seriously considering switching to another email account. A Gmail account is free, can be accessed as a POP or IMAP account with the email client on your computer as well as with the iPhone's email client, has a good spam filter at the incoming mail server, and has an authenticated SMTP server.
If you ever move or decide to change your ISP from Cox to a different ISP, your email account and address will not need to change. You can access and send messages with a Gmail account with any ISP - the same with a .Mac account. And you'll have much more server storage space than Cox provides.

This is the second time in three months this has occurred. Bell Aliant suggested I contact Apple directly as the only option is to remove my e-mail account and reconfigure it. This will mean losing all my files. These files are very important as my account is a business account.
Bell Aliant thought perhaps it is an Apple problem and that Apple may better be able to remedy the situation without me losing my e-mail files.

An Internet email provider losses all your Mail and it's Apple's fault ??
Did they explain how the app managed to delete all of your mail and then not even let you have access ?
If that was the case the app should still be able to access the empty folders.
I know there is often blame and counter blame in these situations but there are limits.

My 3GS will not send e-mails from yahoo. Keeps saying the username or password is invalid. How can I fix this?

I have tried deleting the account and reinstalling it, chek the username and password and they are correct. Went under outgoing server but it is grayed out and won't allow me to edit and add the optional username or password or anything in that section. Please help.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

I have the same problem, but I can send and receive e-mails from my home base. When out of the range of my home I get this message: "
A copy has been placed in your outbox. The sender address: "[email protected]" was rejected by the server."
