Sending E mail using BT Yahoo Mail from e Mail Add...

I have just started using Windows 7/8 7 have a problem sending mail by clicking on a address on a web site.
When I click on the address on a web site I get the message:-
"Do you want this web site to open a Ap on your computer Yes or No"
If I select Yes I get a blank screen.
But if I click right on the address stated on the web site I can select a message that says "E mail with Windows Live"
But I do not want to do this I just want the address I click on to be input into the BTYahoo e mail screen.
How can this be achieved?

I forgot to mention in my post that when I use the "Mail" program in my .mac account or .me account, I have no problem sending, forwarding or replying to emails. It is only the "Mail Application" that is a part of Panther or on my G4, Leopard, that gives me a problem. I'm tempted to trash the "Mail App" and just use .mac's mail feature, although I have had several prior years good experience with the
"Mail Application". Could this be a problem with my internet provider, AT&T? Am I using their server or the .mac server?

Have MacPro OSX 10.6.8 use apple mail.app 4.5. Server is AT&T & yahoo. After 2 yrs. email suddenly stopped being received or sent. Cannot connect to server. AT&T review all settings as did Apple. After many attempts but actually no change in settings connection successful. Can then use but when log off computer overnight the next morning cannot connect to server. AT&T wants to sell tech package for $15 per month. No guarantee this will fix problem. Am desperate. Can receive & send mail at Yahoo & Mobile Me.

No, sorry. I eventually purchased Lion and this problem hasn't resurfaced for me. Previous to that, I used the web interface to manage my iCloud email. Clumsy and inconvenient, but was a lot more reliable than the hit-or-miss functionality of iCloud mail on Snow Leopard's Mail.app.

Script to choose which account mail is to be sent from in Mail?

Does anyone have an AppleScript which will automatically set the default Mail account to an account chosen in script?
I use FileMaker to send mail automatically, but have to use Eudora because it makes it easy to auto reset the default account from which the mail to be sent before FileMaker actually sends the mail.
Mail always uses either the first account in list of accounts (if none chosen) or the chosen account if one is chosen. What I need is a script that "chooses the account" before I have FileMaker send mail.

Hello, I have a similar problem. When Thunderbird is set as the Default Email program in the Preferences (instead of Apple Mail) and when I click "send email" in Filemaker Tasks or Meetings, nothing happens. No email windows. No email programs started. Zippo. However, when Apple Mail is set as the default email program, then it works fine (aside from the fact that I lose all formatting from my message that exists in Filemaker). I find this annoying. Any ideas?

Mail using weird default account for new mail

I recently upgraded from Lion to Mountain Lion, and am having some trouble with Mail.
I have five email accounts: Comcast, two Gmail-based and two on an independent company's servers (Pair Networks).
When I'm in one of my inboxes and send a new email, the sending account is set correctly to that of the selected account. Likewise, if I respond to an email the sending account is set correctly.
BUT - if I am anywhere else and send a new email - unified inbox, local folder of filed mail, etc. - the sending account appears as a sixth option that doesn't exist in my settings anywhere. The dropdown to select a sender account now shows six options instead of the usual five, and this is the last one, and is selected.
The email address for that account happens to be the same as one of my accounts, but the name shown is strange.
The original account reads like:
Firstname Lastname <[email protected]>
This weird sixth account reads like:
"Firstname Lastname (s)" <[email protected]>
- adding quotes around the name and a parentheses s at the end of the name.
The original account is not the first in the list, nor the last. It is second. The first is a Gmail account - not sure if that is relevant.
iCloud is not enabled for Mail - all my devices do their own connecting to mail.
Soooo.....hmmm. What do folks think? Is there somewhere I should be able to set an overall default account, when a sending account can't be determined based on the selected folder?

The bogus account doesn't appear in the list. The original (Firstname Lastname <[email protected]>) does appear, as the second option in the dropdown list.

Pick Mail, Contacts, Calendars
On the right side you'll see under the Mail section "Add Account”
Pick that and fill out the requested information

HT2500 My mail used to have 3 vertical panels: mail boxes, a list of messages and then a to read of a single message on the right. I accidentally double clicked somewhere and now I just have two panels. I have looked at "help" a lot!

At the very bottom of your Mail application window is a small border with a dot in the centre. Click on that dot and drag it up to recreate the missing viewing panel.
If it remains empty, click on an email and it will appear in the viewing panel.

Problem replying in yahoo mail using iPod touch

I am not able to to reply to emails using yahoo mail configured in ipod touch, I have this message : Cannot Send Mail The connection to the outgoing server "(null)" failed.
But I'm able to send mails when not replying. What can I do to solve this problem?

I had the same problem with Yahoo! Mail but even worse I found that I simply could not send any mail at all. The problem only arose this week after installing the new (1.1.4) software upgrade.
I had originally set up Yahoo! Mail using the option given on the Mail screen and it worked perfectly until the upgrade, which may just have been coincidental, I suppose. But I was then unable to send any mail at all. I deleted the e-mail account and then reapplied it but not by opting for the Yahoo! option on Mail and instead set it up as an 'Other' POP account, being sure to deactivate SSL and instead go for Password verification. From what I gather this is just how you would set up a Yahoo! Mail account for MacMail and this basically applies the advice that BT gives for Yahoo! Mail users with a Mac.
It then worked fine, but I lost the really cool real-time sync with Yahoo! Mail which I had had previously.
I have since managed to get Yahoo! Mail working again properly by simply trying and trying and trying to reapply the account as a true Yahoo! Mail account on the Mail icon and eventually it gave in to my dogged persistence.

You need to include any headers that need to be shown in the mail in the message data. The headers section of the data needs to be separated from the body section by at least one blank line.

You can take advantage of this in that you can include multiple calls to utl_smtp.rcpt, but not include them in the payload's header section. This is exactly what happens when you use your mail client to send blind carbon copies of an email.

Attach whole certificate chain when signing e-mails using S/MIME

Hello,
I'd like to sign e-mails using S/MIME and the iOS mail app.
Therefore I installed the certificate containing my private key (issued by certum.eu) as a profile and activated S/MIME in the mail account settings (iOS settings). The certificate is selected there properly and the option to sign e-mails automatically has been enabled.
When I send e-mails now, they get signed - but not correctly: some e-mail clients say the signature was invalid.
When I send and sign e-mails with Outlook for Windows using the same certificate all the e-mail clients recognize the signature as valid.
The problem seems to be that the iOS mail app does not attach the whole certificate chain to the signature. Some e-mail client thus cannot validate it. (Windows for example is enrolled with certum's root CA by default but without the required intermediate certificates.)
The certificate I imported into iOS DOES contain all intermediate certificates (and they are listed in iOS when I retrieve the certificate's details there) and iOS says the certificate is 'trustworthy'. So all information needed should be available on the device.
How can I make the mail app behave like Outlook? Thank you very much in advance.

The new BlackBerry Z10 is an amazing device, but there are still some basic problems I do not understand.
Why do I need to pay for BES to use S/MIME support only? Other systems like iOS or Android can deal with those certificates without any problems and on non server based architectures.
Are there any plans on an easier and less expensive solutions to use encrypted email?

My iPhone 5 will not allow yahoo email via the mail center

Since Monday 3/16/2015 I have been unable to access my Yahoo email from the Mail Center. I have deleted, powered the phone down, re-added the account. I have read numerous past post/questions from other users. HELP! I am about ready to get an Android phone at this point because I am so frustrated with the inability to 1) Find out WHY it is doing this and 2) how to resolve it... I have had to download the Yahoo mail app in the mean time. Additionally, on my iPad my yahoo account is working just fine!

While in mail, if you click Window then Connection Doctor, do any of the connections have a red dot next to them? The message should tell you what's wrong and if you click on it, it should take you to where you can fix it.
