How can I send as an output in RFC function working as WebService error as XML. What I'm talking about?
I use exceptions in my RFC function which is warking as WS.
I want to recive form WS an error description as a XML.
When WS is working correct it send as an output XML, but when any error is performed there no response in XML file is generated. I want to generate XML with error info but I have no idea how.
Regards, Tomek

I want to receive error form WS which is looking like below:

  • How to retrieve error message(s) after failed web service call

    Hi!
    I tried to create an item using the web service ego_item_pub.process_item and it worked ok (version 12.1.1). Sending the same request again, I got an error which should be ok since the item id already exists. The thing is, that I only get an "E" as return status:
    <X_RETURN_STATUS>E</X_RETURN_STATUS>
    <X_MSG_COUNT>1</X_MSG_COUNT>
    As described in the integration repository, there should be a parameter called msg_data which should contain the message if there is exactly 1 message, but I cannot find it.
    So, I tried to get the message using fnd_message.get, but the response of my web service call is:
    AuthorizationFailure : User not authorized to execute service. (I use sysadmin/sysadmin as ws security user).
    I use the following grant details:
    All Users     Direct     GLOBAL     Revoke Action Enabled
    SYSADMIN SYSADMIN     Direct     USER
    What else can I do or how can I retrieve error messages for a failed web service call?
    Thanks a lot,
    Konrad

    Hi Konrad,
    As we've found out, search the Integration Repository for internal name ERROR_HANDLER and use that. Letting the general public know the answer for this one!

  • Sending document to oracle xml gateway web service and body is url encoded

    Hello,
    a question from a complete newbie to web services. I have some code that is sending a soap message to an oracle xml gateway web service. In the soap message the values in the soap body look like &lt ;CNTROLAREA&gt ;
    when I would be expecting <CNTROLAREA>. What I have been told is that the content of the ReceiveDocument element has been url encoded which causes the &lt and to correct it I need to change the paramater type from object to xmlnode and to build the request as an xmldocument. The xmlnode and xmldocument comes from a .net guy so I've been trying to find the equivalent in java but am not having any luck. I have a lot of reading to do but was wondering if someone might be able to point me in the right direction on how to correct the problem. I captured the soap message being sent using tcpmon. Why does the body have the &lt instead of the < as I was expecting and is there an xmldocument type? The header part of the soap message looks as I expect. "><soapenv:Header><ns1:XMLGateway_Header xmlns:ns1="http://xmlns.oracle.com/apps/fnd/XMLGateway"><ns1:MESSAGE_TYPE>XML</ns1:MESSAGE_TYPE>. It is being sent as a com.oracle.xmlns.apps.fnd.XMLGateway.XMLGateway_Header type.
    thanks
    Thanks

  • HP Photosmart D110 Series getting error message when connecting to web services

    Hello guys!
    Hope someone can help. We have a HP Photosmart D110 series that is a couple years old. I am trying to get it connected to the web services feature for my wife. When we first got the printer it connected with no problems. When I go and click on enable web services it tells me cannot connect to server. Same error message happens when I try to do a product update. I tried to change manual preferred to 8. 8. 8. 8. and manual alternate to 8. 8. 4. 4. with no luck.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!!!

    Hi Daniel, is there a chance that something has change in the intervening time in your home network e.g. a new router? This link contains a list of suggested troubleshooting steps to take if you're experiencing connectivity issues with HP Cloud Services. Try working down through them to isolate and correct the problem that is preventing you getting the D110 to connect to ePrint http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/ePrint-Print-Apps-Mobile-Printing-and-ePrintCenter/ePrint-Apps-Connecti...

  • Retrieve error message of SAP provided web service in web service response

    Hi All,
    We have a SAP provided web service that sometimes fails to process data it is called with. This is not a problem as the data sometimes is just plain wrong (i.e. date field contains text). However, the error is only logged in SAP and can only be queried using SRT_UTIL.
    The problem is that the error is not reported back via the response. How can we set up the web service so that the error could be displayed by the calling party without logging into SAP?
    Thanks for the help in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Daniel

    Hi Calvin,
    The WS is indeed synchronous. The problem is not whether the error is captured or not. It is captured indeed but it is logged inside SAP only and not returned via the Web Service response mechanism. The error message says that error message can be retrieved using SRT_UTIL.
    This is a major problem as the users of the outside system calling SAP have no right to use SRT_UTIL to track down the error. They need to contact SAP basis in order to get to the end of it.
    What we need to achieve is to get back the same error message that can be seen with SRT_UTIL via the web service.
    Thanks.

  • Best Practices Question: How to send error message to SSHR web page.

    Best Practices Question: How to send error message to SSHR web page from custom PL\SQL procedure called by SSHR workflow.
    For the Manager Self-Service application we’ve copied various workflows which were modified to meet business needs. Part of this exercise was creating custom PL\SQL Package Procedures that would gather details on the WF using them on custom notification sent by the WF.
    What I’m looking for is if/when the PL\SQL procedure errors, how does one send an failure message back and display it on the SS Page?
    Writing information into a log or table at the database level works for trouble-shooting, but we’re looking for something that will provide the end-user with an intelligent message that the workflow has failed.
    Thanks ahead of time for your responses.
    Rich

    We have implemented the same kind of requirement long back.
    We have defined our PL/SQL procedures with two OUT parameters
    1) Result Type (S:Success, E:Error)
    2) Result Message
    In the PL/SQL procedure we always use below construct when we want to raise any message
    hr_utility.set_message(APPL_NO, 'FND_MESSAGE_NAME');
    hr_utility.raise_error;
    In Exception block we write below( in successful case we just set the p_result_flag := 'S';)
    EXCEPTION
    WHEN APP_EXCEPTION.APPLICATION_EXCEPTION THEN
    p_result_flag := 'E';
    p_result_message := hr_utility.get_message;
    WHEN OTHERS THEN
    p_result_flag := 'E';
    p_result_message := hr_utility.get_message;
    fnd_message.set_name('PER','FFU10_GENERAL_ORACLE_ERROR');
    fnd_message.set_token('2',substr(sqlerrm,1,200));
    fnd_msg_pub.add;
    p_result_message := fnd_msg_pub.get_detail;
    After executing the PL/SQL in java
    We have written some thing similar to
    orclStmt.execute();
    OAExceptionUtils.checkErrors (txn);
    String resultFlag = orclStmt.getString(provide the resultflag bind no);
    if ("E".equalsIgnoreCase(resultFlag)){
    String resultMessage = orclStmt.getString(provide the resultMessage bind no);
    orclStmt.close();
    throw new OAException(resultMessage, OAException.ERROR);
    It safely shows the message to the user with all the data in the page.
    We have been using this construct for a long time for all our projects. They are all working as expected.
    Regards,
    Peddi.

  • Reading xml in web services

    I m sending an xml as string to the web service and i want to read the xml using JDOM but its not working. IS there any way of reading the xml in web service
    thanks in advance

    I'm trying to do the same thing in WASD 5.1 (which in theory conforms with JSR-109) and it is proving very difficult.
    Why is letting the Web Service implementation do the "heavy" work ( checking the SOAP message against the WSDL, performing security checks) but then AVOIDING the default mapping process so difficult.
    The next bit is to vent my frustation:
    "The lack of documentation on this subject is unbelievable, lots of 'you can then implement a document-centric web service' but without a single, real world, worked through example.
    For some reason parsing a bit of XML is seen as an extremely difficult task that should be avoided at all costs - oh come on!!! "
    Ok, venting finished, now for the question:
    Has ANYONE successfully imlemented a document-centric Web Service and can offer their experience/solution to the world?

  • How to pass xml in Web Services

    Hi,
    Can some one suggest which is the best way to send xml in web services.
    It can be sent as string (CDATA) or attachements.
    Is there any other way, may be as some object??
    I would appreciate if someone can help me on this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rana Biswas

    Hi, Eric,
    Thank you for your quick reply.
    The web service I am trying to develop is basically a generic Data Access Component to bridge between SQL server and a desktop .Net application. The application will have about 3000 users from WAN, therefore we want to have a server side component to handle connection pooling etc. Because of limitation of current servers, we are asked to develop a Java Web Service, instead of MS WS.
    To make the component more reusable, I am thinking to have methods like this in the service:
    RunQueryReturnRS(String Sql, WebRowSet, rs)
    RunQueryReturnInt(String Sql, int NumRecdImpacted)
    RunStoredProcedureReturnRS(….)
    RunStoredProcedureReturnInt(….)
    ……
    You see, I would like to get whole resultset back to client, including both metadata and data in a format of generic resultset. When I paged through the Sun’s document, finding WebRowSet is claimed to be seariable, and ready for Web Service. I thought if I can use WebRowSet that will save me time to write new classes to hold resultset info and pass back to client.
    Could you please tell me if it is a feasible approach?
    Thank you.

    My iphone suddenly crashed and asked for restoration, however itunes sends error message of host not available (3014), what should I do?

    Try -
    Error 1004, 1013, 1638, 3014, 3194: These errors may be the result of the connection to gs.apple.com being redirected or blocked. Follow these steps to resolve these errors:
    Install the latest version of iTunes.
    Check security software. Ensure that communication to gs.apple.com is allowed. Follow this article for assistance with security software. iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.
    Check the hosts file. The restore will fail if there is an active entry to redirect gs.apple.com. Follow iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting to edit the hosts file or revert to a default hosts file. See section "Blocked by configuration: (Mac OS X/Windows) > Rebuild network information".
    Try to restore from another known-good computer and network.
    If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
    The "device may need service" means a hardware problem. In that case make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • JSON+XML RPC Web service

    How i would achieve this.

    and this:

    I don't think you will be able to invoke an XML-RPC web
    service using the standard <cfinvoke webservice="..."> due to
    the fact that the URL for an XML-RPC webservice is not a WSDL file,
    which is what coldfusion is expecting.

  • OWSM 10.1.3.4 and Non-SOAP XML-based web service

    Hi all,
    According to the OWSM 10.1.3.4 Administrator's Guide, "all Web services registered with an Oracle WSM Gateway are virtualized as both a SOAP and non-SOAP Web service." To access the non-SOAP (XML-only) web service, the documentation states "The non-SOAP virtualized URL can be determined from the virtualized SOAP URL by replacing the services keyword in the URL with the xml keyword."
    For example, if the SOAP virtualized endpoint is:
    http://host:port/gateway/services/SID0003001
    then, the non-SOAP XML service endpoint is:
    http://host:port/gateway/xml/SID0003001
    I have several web services registered with an OWSM gateway, running on SOA Suite 10.1.3.4, and can access those without any problem. However, when I attempt to access the "/gateway/xml" version of these services, I simply get an HTTP 200 response header with a null body.
    Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this or what the secret is to get the non-SOAP XML service feature of OWSM to work?
    Thanks!

  • XML and Web Service Data Source Missing in Crystal Reports for VS

    I would like to use a Web Service as the data source for a Crystal Report that will be running outside of my Visual Studio application.  So setting the data source to the web service in code is not possible.  My understanding is Crystal Reports has a connection (in the Database Expert under New Connection) named XML and Web Service.  Here you can select web service and enter the WSDL URL for the web service.  However it does not appear in the list for Crystal Reports for Visual Studio.  Does this connection type come with the Visual Studio version of Crystal Reports and if not is their a way to obtain it?
    Thank you for your assistance.

    None of the bundled versions of CR have the driver. Reason is that the driver responsible for these connections requires the Java framework and I suspect MS would not be too pleased if we installed the Java framework. The stand alone versions, since they are not part of any bundle can and do install the Java framework and the driver. Note that even the latest release of CR - CRVS2010 does not have the driver as it essentially becomes a bundle or a VS2010 plug-in.
    So, the short of it is; you have to obtain a stand-alone version of CR. I'd recommend CR 2008 (12.x) as CRXI R2 will run out of support in June of this year.

  • ABAP proxy client sending to XI   by using the WEB Service

    Hi
    I have scenario where ABAP Proxy need to send the data by calling a web service middleware as SAP XI/PI,
    Can anyone please provide the details of the scenarion that ABAP Proxy calls the webservice to send the data and receive it back the response, (Synchronous communication)
    Thanks
    PR

    Hi PR
    My understanding of your requirement is like
    Proxy <-> XI <-> SOAP.
    Steps.
    1. Create Client proxy to send data to XI
    2. Import the WSDL provided by receiver system in XI
    3. Do IR steps
    4. ID - SA is not required
    5. Configure Receiver SOAP adapter using the URL and Soap Action from the WSDL you received.
    Thanks

    Dear all,
    How can we view the error message numbers in the web ui? It gives the error but no number.  It is possible to debug in web UI so how can we accomplish this?
    Thanks,
    FK

    Hi  Fakhan,
    You can absolutely do that.
    Check the class: CL_BSP_MESSAGES
    Also if you want to find out the exact Message Class and Message Number, go to table T100, type text in field TEXT, you will get Message Class and Message number in fields ARBGB and MSGNR respectively.
    I hope this helps.
