Sending FCP audio to Soundtrack

Okay so I have a project that I need to send the audio to soundtrack, problem is when I right click on the audio and go to Send to the Soundtrack Pro Audio File Project is greyed out and pretty much my only option is to select Soundtrack Pro Multitrack Project. Is there a way to link the mono audio clips together so I can make it a Audio File Project in soundtrack?

The problem is the format of your clip material. If you open up your clip in Quicktime and then save it as another format, for example, DV stream: NTSC 48khrz, and then import it back into FCP you will probably be able to then export to Sountrack.
Of course, this isn't the best solution. There may be some setting when importing footage from your deck or camera that makes this work. I noticed the audio data when from 16 bit integer to 23 bit floats, but I'd be surprised if that is the reason.
But it is definitely a format problem and I didn't find a way to fix it from within FCP (e..g, by linking or changing audio settings).

  • Sending fcp audio to stp

using fcp 6 and am unable to send audio files to sound track. stp audio file project and multitrack project are grayed out and don't go black when i control click the audio track. any suggestions?

Here's exactly what I do.  Select a clip in the timeline, control click and choose send to:  soundtrack pro audio file project.
When you do this, what happens?
What are your audio clip settings?  Could be a problem I suppose with a non fcp friendly format.  It should be 48k 16bit aiff.

  • Final Cut Pro Studio (Sending Audio To Soundtrack Pro Error) No Video

I get error promp when sending (un-linked, no stereo pair) audio clips to soundtrack pro multi-track project. The selection will only go into Soundtrack Pro if I un-check the video check box.
I can, however, send an audio clip as a Soundtrack Pro audio file. The video works fine.

Boy, there are a lot of things I'm just not getting today.
Product endorsements are supposed to generate some cash or other consideration, no? When was the last time you saw painted on the side of a house "Hammers made by Craftsman" or "Nails from Home Depot?"
And why do people wear clothes with logos all over them? Nobody's paying them for it!
And how come realtors always plaster their faces everywhere?
    Oh well.

  • Send to Audio project takes all sources audio tracks

    Hi there
I am sending dicrete mono tracks to soundtrack pro (2.02) to create a 6 track mono wav which i will then use to create a Dolby E track.
Why this isnt in FCP i dont know, but anyway.
When i send the 6 tracks from FCP timeline to audio project, it sends 8 or 10 tracks through, as this was on source tape. How can i only send whats in the timeline?
Ive tried send only ref media, but to no avail.
As a workround i am exporting the sequence (audio only) and then sending the audio from this to soundtrack. However its extra time and steps that i could do without.
Any help would be much appreciated as this is something we will be doing more often in the future. for our company.
    Thanks in advance
    Jason

I am having the same issue. The Send to Soundtrack Pro Audio File Project item is always greyed out. I am on Leopard using Soundtrack Pro (v1.1) if that makes any difference.
Anyone have a solution to this problem?

  • Sending project sequences to Soundtrack

I have FCP 6.0.6 and edit on an iMac.
I have a timeline made up of 10 individual sequences. I would like to send the audio from this project to Soundtrack. Is there a way to do this without having to send and edit the audio of each sequence individually?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Sequences audio to Soundtrack together rather than individually?

are you saying that you've got the individual sequences nested in the containing sequence?  I think the only way is to replace the nests with the original sequence, copying and pasting from the individual sequences to the containing sequence should work.

  • Export tracks from FCP X to Soundtrack Pro

Recording audio on a Canon 7D as guide track and also on a Zoom H4N (sometimes two sources: mic and wireless).  Syncing them is easy enough in Plural Eyes (I find that syncing them in FCP X is sometimes off a frame or two).
I want to edit the audio in Soundtrack Pro. I need to export all of the audio tracks (including the audio from the Canon in case I need some of it).  Using Share I can't seem to get anything but all the audio sources blended together.  How can I export all of the audio tracks separately but still in sync? I want to be able to work with all of the separate audio sources in Soundtrack Pro?

Make sure your easy setup has the correct frame rate for your sequence.  Seems crazy but somehow or other fcp assigns a frame rate to audio files.   I've found this can sometimes be tricky to get right.  Here's what I've done to force the issue.  Make sure the easy setup frame rate reflects that of the target sequence in fcp.  Create a new project.  import the audio in the new project.  And then copy the clip from the new project to your main project.
    Good luck

  • How do I send an audio message in a text?

How do I send an audio message in a text?  There is no microphone to the right of the text box.   The microphone with the keyboard simply puts audio to written words.

        Maybejim,
That's a great question! You'd need to utilize the "Voice recorder" application to record and then share an audio message. You can view the instructions via Samsung's website; http://www.samsung.com/us/support/faq/FAQ00055605/67319/SGH-M919RWATMB .

  • New Mac Mini sends airplay audio but does not receive it

I just purchased and set up two new Mac Minis with Mountain Lion. Previous to this, using Lion and even Leopard, I could send Airplay audio to any of my desktop machines. Further, my iOS devices could send audio to my Macs running Snow Leopard and Lion. The new machines do not receive airplay audio from anything. They can send to the other devices, but not to themselves. Had I upgraded all of desktop machines to 10.8, I wouldn't be able to send audio anywhere.
    Why is this?

From what I'm reading, airplay is only for streaming to your tv.  I have apple tv and have never been able to stream from one device to another;  only from device to tv.
Can you link to an apple document saying it's supposed to work computer to computer?  Are you sure you weren't using home sharing in itunes?

  • Capturing VHS through DV cam to FCP - Audio clipping!!

    Hey all,
I'm capturing a VHS through my DV cam (it has analogue to digital version) and when it comes into FCP the audio is clipping (going above 0db)
Is there anyway to lower the input volume?
    Thankyou
    Paul

The camera doesn't let you change the input volume
    What I did was:
Made the VIDEO ONLY go from VCR > DV CAM > MAC
But made the audio go to VCR > PC LINE IN > PC LINE OUT > DV CAM > MAC
When the audio came through my PC - I lowered the LINE IN volume so on the FCP audio level meters the audio peaked at -6dbs.
    Not a bad idea hey
Lucky I had all the cables and connectors laying around.

  • Can you "unsend" audio from Soundtrack?

Okay, so I sent audio to Soundtrack and removed noise. My producer wanted a clean track for client rough cut.
Now I'm ready to export an OMF for ProTools using Automatic Duck. Is there a way to reset the audio that was sent to Soundtrack as though it was never sent in the first place? If I can't will the "sent" clips be exported in the OMF with the soundtrack filters applied?

You'd have to re edit the old sound in. but if you export, the soundtraack improved files will be in the OMF...

  • My Premiere CC wont always send the audio through Kona

My Premire CC wont always send the audio through Kona card. It keeps wanting to send it through the line out. After several restarting of a project, it will eventually take and send it through the Kona. How can I fix this? Working with Kona LHI in premiere CC on a Mac. Thanks!

Do you have the Kona as as the default output device in Audio and Midi settings in OSX?
