Sending images by PSE8 sharing

I use PSE8 under Win7 Ultimate on a 64-bit machine.  I use gmail, and I dont use Outlook.  PSE8 is working well, but I cannot share - neither by photomail, email attachment by adobe e-mail, Windows mail, etc.  No matter what I do, "errors" result.  Photomail results in PSE8 crashing.
Win7 has been out a long time.  What am I doing wrong?
I fear upgrading to PSE9 because of possible catalog icompatibilities.  I have a large and precious calaog with much metadata.

Reading blocks at a time is better, but unless you have multi-MB images, it won't make much difference.That doesn't address any of the three fatal deficiencies I mentioned. The code I posted makes no assumptions. Yours makes at least three, none of which are reliable.You are correct, the code was intended to illustrate how simple it could be.
However there were many other assumptions which I consider more import. For example, the code does not close() the devices in a finally block on an exception leading to a possible resources leak. (which in turn needs to be wrapped in a try/catch)
While I have seen file/socket fail to be read/written, I have never seen a file needing multiple calls to read if the buffer is sufficient. (Doesn't mean it might not be a problem of course, and there are many things which could be do to have the code more robust)

    Hi Sandeep,
    I think you can setup the type of email in Shared office Settings in transaction S016.
    There is an option called <Preset document classes>
    You choose this pushbutton to branch to the maintenance screen for the document classes that are directly displayed to users in the Business Workplace for selection when they use the Create function. The name under which the documents are displayed can also be maintained.

  • Need software which can send images to my editor, have them make selections, share them with me so I can edit the images and send the final results back to them.  Will Lightroom work?

    Need software which can send images to my editor, have them make selections, share them with me so I can edit the images and send the final results back to them.  Will Lightroom work?

    What I would like to do is to use Lightroom as I have been doing with LR 5.7.  Tag certain images to be shared to the Creative Cloud which my editor can then see and tag as to which she would like to see final versions of.  In the best case, I would then see these tags and edit the images as appropriate and save the JPEGs back to the Cloud where she can download them for final production.
    Possible?

  • Closing an image in PSE8

    It is the simple things that trip me up, I am embarrassed to even ask, however....
    I have an open image in PSE8 and I want to close it.  I can't figure out how to do that.  Is some "close" button/feature not showing on my panel?

    In the Editor click: File > Close

  • How do I Automatically Send a PDF for Shared Review?

    Hello,
    I am trying to automate sending documents for shared review. Basically, all my users post PDFs to the same location and so they perform all the same actions. I would like to make it easier on them and automatically trigger all the actions. Currently, I am using Acrobat.dll in a C# program, but I am not adamant about using this particular technology. All I could get was:
    Acrobat.AcroAppClass acro = new Acrobat.AcroAppClass();
    acro.MenuItemExecute("SendForSharedReview");
    This opens the shared review wizard, and I can send keystrokes to the wizard dialog box, but I am hoping there is a more elegant method of doing it. Is there an API that I should be using or some other method to automatically trigger a shered review on a selected document?
    Thanks,
    Pawel

    It took a while to figure out, but I confirmed it with Adobe staff. The answer is no; sending multiple documents for shared review is not possible with LiveCycle or with any other Adobe software.
    The only thing to do would be automate with some kind of clicker application or AutoIt, but that is far from ideal.

  • Can you send a document for Shared Review once you've applied an electronic signature?

    Hi! I'm having troubles sending a document for shared review, I need 3 people to digitally sign it and then send it on a shared review. I keep getting this error message however:
    'The document you have chosen cannot be sent for shared review or collaboration because its current security permissions do not allow modifications. Please choose another document or change this document to allow modifications.'
    I'm not sure how I can 'allow the modifications' - where's this option?
    I've tried 'File/Save As/Reader Extended PDF/Enable Commenting & Measuring' but this didn't help.
    We can't use stamps for signing as we want to be able to verify signatures.
    Any suggestions on what the issue may be?
    Thanks in advance!
    Mel

    thanks George for your response. Basically what we do in our engineering company is have the author and supervisor sign a document (verfiying that its at a good enough level) to go out on review, and if its something that needs to go to our client for review there'll be a 3rd approver signature before it leaves our office - then the client will put it on shared review amongst their staff.
    when we're having a play around with this trying to get this to work, we aren't going in and locking the document after any of the signatures. but I'm also not sure of what you need to do to 'enable' a document before initiaiting the send for shared review process. Are you able to give me a step by step on how to set this up - and how to see if a signature field is 'preconfigured to lock a document' - that actually might be the root of the problem!
    Sorry I'm not a huge whizz on adobe, I haven't had to use it for a review process in quite a while but my current company is wanting to go electronic.
    Thanks for your help!

    Mel

  • After updating to ios 6.1.3 I cant send images through imessage

    Hello

    That’s strange that my description in my first post is not showing up
    I have noticed that after I updated my iOS on my iPhone 5 to 6.1.3 the iMessage can no longer send images to other iDevices
    Sending regular text works but once an image is attached the message informs me that it has not been delivered and a red exclamation mark appears
    I tried to send images from multiple networks
    LTE
    3G
    3 different WiFi networks
    All of these fail
    I also reset my device from a backup and reset my network settings with no luck
    I really hope that this gets fixed soon because I do use imessage to send photos to my friends that have their own iDevices

  • How to send images using Tuxedo 6.5

    What would be the best way to send images( bmp, jpeg, gif) using Tuxedo 6.5? Ideally,

    Rich,
    How about storing the binary image in an FML field of type CARRAY?
    Be aware of the performance impact of very large buffers - >75% of MSGMNB (I
    think) and they're transferred by file i/o -

  • When I send image attachments through Mail they are received as very small and squashed. How can I change this?

    I have a problem sending image attachements (e.g., jpeg, png files etc) with the Mail utility from my MacBook Pro.  When people receive my email the attached image shows up not as an attached file that can be saved or downloaded, but as just a very small, squashed up version of the image imbedded in the email message itself.
    I usually add these attachments by simply dragging and dropping the desired file into the window of the email text. Is this the wrong way to do it?
    thanks
    Jerry

    Is this the wrong way to do it?
    The safest way to send images is to create a compressed file and send that.
    Click the image you want to send, go to File in the menu bar and select Compress... You end up with a file with a .zip at the end. Attach that to your email. Then trash the .zip file.
    The person at the other end only has to double click the .zip attachment.
    You can compress are single image or a folder of them.

  • Sending image in mail

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to send image in mail.
    I got a code from a post which is as following :
    import javax.mail.* ;
    import javax.mail.internet.* ;
    import java.util.Properties;
    class SimpleMail1 {
        public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception{
            System.out.println("Sending mail...");
            Properties props = new Properties();
            props.setProperty("mail.transport.protocol", "smtp");
            props.setProperty("mail.host", "smtp.mymailserver.com");
            props.setProperty("mail.user", "myuser");
            props.setProperty("mail.password", "mypwd");
    Session mailSession = Session.getDefaultInstance(props, null);
            mailSession.setDebug(true);
            Transport transport = mailSession.getTransport();
    MimeMessage message = new MimeMessage(mailSession);
            message.setSubject("HTML  mail with images");
    // write sender's and recpient's email address
       message.setContent
              (" img src=image_path" + "html/text");;
            transport.connect();
            transport.sendMessage(message,
                message.getRecipients(Message.RecipientType.TO));
            transport.close();
    Here, the image is being taken from an internet link whereas I am working on Linux server.
    If I place a file on some location on the server, how to get the file from this location in this code?
    Regards,
    Nikhil

    Cary,
    I got your email overnight.
    The 5 attachments are full size JPEG files, and the overall size of the message is 4.5 MB. Three of them have been compressed more than the other two, which you can see looking at the file sizes shown in the attached screenshot I sent back to you, but all of them decompress into full size photos of good size.
    You may have muddied the water slightly, by Forwarding rather than sending a new message as you did originally. That can easily be checked if you open the message as originally sent, click on Message in the menubar and choose Send Again -- then change the To address to mine.
    However, I think there is another issue causing the message to be sent in Rich Text Format, which causes some conversion of text to HTML, which then is problematic to some email clients some recipients use on Windows computers, notably Outlook and Outlook Express. Specifically, the file name of each photo appearing beneath and between each attachment can cause this, as could multiple fonts (but you did have that). To stop the file name printing, which is coming from iPhoto's preparation of the message, change the selection in the Email dialogue in iPhoto to deselect Include Title and Include Comments.
    Then be sure to send all such messages in Plain Text, and be sure to use Windows Friendly if not already.
