Sending LC ES Form to those who can't upgrade to Acrobat 9

I am trying to send a form to some folks who only have Acrobat 8. When they try to open it, it prompts them to upgrade to Acrobat 9. Due to computer lock-downs, they can't. How can I get the form to them so that they can open, completed and submit back to me?

In the File/FormProperties/Defaults you have a setting for target version. My guess is that you have that set for version 9. Change it to version 8 and you should be OK.

For Those Who Can't Boot After Upgrading To 10.5.6
(and i am one of those)
how is Apple supposed to make them able to install future fixes and updates
once they finally acknowledge and address this horrible bug?
will they send free bootable CDs with the updates to 10.5.6?

What "Boot ROM version" do you have (check in the system profiler under "Hardware")? If it's not MBP31.0070.B07 or MBP21.00A5.B08, then you will need to update your MacBook Pro's firmware. To do this, you might need to connect an external display and mouse/keyboard, and then run the computer with the lid closed to bypass the laptop's monitor. Then apply the firmware patch and reboot the system. This might also be doable via "Screen Sharing" if you have that enabled and have another mac handy.
The firmware update is here: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/firmware_hardware/macbookproefifirmw areupdate151.html

Dear Apple...I know time marches on but unfortunately you have become useless to those of us who can't upgrade systems or afford Iphones. So my itunes is totally unavailalbe since ipods can't work w/Itunes 9, so all the $ I spent is out the window! I have been an apple mac user since the Blue Tower in early 2000. The fact that I recently replace a stolen Ipod Classic and it isn't compatible w/iTunes9 is really screwed up. You have failed many!

    What is your question?

  • Can you upgrade to acrobat 11 from cs3

I have acrobat 9 pro from CS 3.  I bought the upgrade to Acrobat 11.  When I put in the serial number from CS 3 Design Premium it does not work.  Can you upgrade to Acrobat 11 from cs3, and if not can you "return" the upgrade you bought?

    Hi,
No, its not a valid path to upgrade from CS3 to Acrobat 11. You need to contact Adobe Chat Support to return the Acrobat 11 you bought.

  • Can I Upgrade to Acrobat XI Pro also from Acrobat 8 Pro Windows?

According to the product page for Acrobat Pro, no.  The earlier version included for upgrade is version 9.

Can I upgrade from Acrobat XI Standard to Pro?

As I indicated, the store gives an upgrade from Std to Pro, though I think the price is not appropriate. If you go to the basic page for Acrobat, they are no pushing the subscription version. If you do to the buying guide you get the regular version option (http://www.adobe.com/content/dotcom/en/products/acrobatpro/buying-guide.html). The upgrade is $199, which I think is crazy. Something like $70 is more appropriate, the difference in cost between Std and Pro upgrades, or at least $150 for the difference of the full products. If the Std had been an upgrade, the cost of a full upgrade is not reasonable. Anyway, a screen capture of the cost is below:
So apparently the guys on the chat have no clue what they are talking about. However, that does not surprise me. What bothers me is some of the unreasonable pricing as I see it in the store.

  • Can I upgrade from Acrobat 11 Pro to DC Pro?

Can I upgrade from Acrobat 11 Pro to DC Pro?

    Hey marcp30425730,
If you are using Creative Cloud or Acrobat XI subscription, then you will get a free upgrade to Acrobat DC.
You can install and activate Acrobat DC subscription on your machine using the same Adobe ID credentials.
On the other hand, if you own Acrobat XI Pro, then you cannot use the same serial key to activate Acrobat DC.
You need to purchase a separate perpetual license for DC version, but you'll be qualified for a reduced price when purchasing the perpetual license.
Hope this information helps you. Let me know if you have further queries.
I would certainly help you out.

  • Iphone 5 battery drain issue, a question to all tech gurus.A challenge to those who can figure out the problem!

    Hi guys!
I bought an iPhone 5 approximately 18 months back (warranty over) and have been running into battery problems for the past 1 month
my phone drains about 10% per hour while on sleep mode (no usage at all other than picking up calls) ,hence it can normally last up to 8-10 hours on sleep mode alone. However, when the phone is being used,it can usually only last up to 1-2 hours. It usually feels slightly warm on touch on sleep mode but becomes a little hotter when using at prolonged periods, otherwise it works quite well externally. This in my opinion is not normal since I've been using this phone for the past year and i can kind of guess the normal battery lifespan of my phone. My current iPhone 5 version is 7.1.1 and is not jailbroken.
I have had my phone changed into a new one just last year due to the faulty sleep/wake function,FYI
Before you say anything,i would like to let you know that i come from Malaysia whereby there are no genius bars here and most are 3rd party support groups who are more or less not bothered to fix or diagnose my phone problem and are more likely to change my phone into a new refurbished phone instead (cost approximately 300USD),they are not even willing to touch my phone.Trust,me I've been to more than one official stores.
Hence I've devised a few ways of diagnosing the phone problem myself based on online tips and tutorials
1)Factory reset : ive backed up and restored the phone (factory reset) with a new account just to test if it is the fault of the software. This process was done about 6 times in total but with no progress
2)Ive tried every single software tweak suggested from the net - switch off data/off wifi/airplane mode/off icloud/off background refresh/resetting the phone etc..You name it,I've done it!
3)Ive also checked for evidence of decay from the current iPhone, which shows a design capacity of 1430 and full charge capacity of 1352,which is pretty good if ud asked me.
4)As for the usage and standby values,it is not equal.on full recharge it says stand by at more than 20-24 hours and usage time of 8 hours. However,in reality this values are never really achieved.
5)Every single app has been deleted FYI,there are only stock apps in my phone.
6)Finally i gave in and had given my phone to someone experienced to manually change my internal battery into a new one ( i was observing him and I'm quite sure that he hadn't damaged anything while fixing it ).But this does not improve the battery power one bit.
This leads me to believe that this might be a hardware issue other than the battery itself,i was wondering if anyone has ever encountered a case such as this one since i am truly unable to find a cause on why the battery is drained in this manner,I'm suspecting that my sleep button might be activated, but my phone is unable to sleep internally due to some unknown reason.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks so much!

  • Those who can't reconfigure graphite after hard reset - can't connect error

I am one of the many who had the capacitor problem with the graphite base station. I changed my capacitors and normal operation of the base station resumed.....except when I tried to reconfigure the base station. I of course followed apple's hard reset directions to the letter. The base station would automatically update with new firmware without a hitch. The only problem was I could not reconfigure the base station because I was denied entry to the settings using the apple admin utility version 4.2. I kept getting the dreaded error message "error while connecting" after I put in the "public" password.
My reasoning was that if my desktop can communicate with the base in a way that the firmware can be updated, why in gods name can't I access the configuation protocols. I was assuming that the problem was with the admin utility version 4.2. I was right.
I rebooted my computer into OS9 and then tried to access the base station configuration using admin utility 2.04. It let me in with no issues and I was able to reconfugure the base however I wanted to. Now my Graphite base works perfectly again after switching back to OSX. The only hitch is that from now on whenever I want to change the settings on the base station I have to boot OS9 to make the changes and then go back to OSX
The moral of this story is, if you're having this issue it's not your base station thats broken. The problem is inherent in admin utility 4.2. So if you're blessed with an older mac like me and can still boot OS9, your problems are solved. I hope this helps a lot of you out there who are having this issue.

  • A Suggestion For Those Who Can't Install Flash

Check out Microsoft Silverlight. I just came across it on the web. It downloads in minutes and it runs without problems. It play videos just like Flash and it is free. I am not familiar enough to say that it is a better player. It seems to be at least equivalent. The was only one notable difference: Installing flash, two weeks and counting. Installing Microsoft Silverlight, about five minutes.
If only I had found out sooner my garden would not be so overgrown in weeds.

Are you saying that youb can play Flash objects with Silverlight?

  • For those who can't hear their fans...

This is pretty much my experience and you could follow my original posts if you care. I'm just going to break it down.
1st MBP - Week 12 build 2.16 1g 7200 which had to be returned because of the 4SN error message during hardware check. With this MBP I never heard my fans rev up no matter how hard I pushed the machine or how uncomfortably hot it got. Also, I noticed that the error would occur whenever the fans didn't turn on during the system test. This was during the week of April 1st. Went to the store and they kindly swapped the machine.
2nd MBP - Week 12 build 2.16 1g 7200 which also had to be returned. This one also had the 4SN error message during the hardware check and I never heard the fans rev up no matter how hard I pushed the machine. I went to the store to return the machine and I was told by a genius that the error is just a software glitch and as long as the machine is working properly then I shouldn't worry. I wasn't happy, but I needed the MBP and decided that I would hold on to it. After a few weeks I noticed the machine slowing down (marginally) and I occasionally had this issue where my screen would go all glitchy and the computer would freeze. This worried me and I returned to the apple store for it to be sent out for repairs. After explaining my problems (strange HD noise, screen flicker) and showing them a pic of the screen issue he the genius said my graphics card is fried and surprisingly, he wanted to swap the machine again (it was 20 days past the return policy date)! That was very nice of them, but I had to settle for a lower model.
3rd MBP - Week 17 build 2.16 1g 5400 which is running great. I had to settle for the 5400 model because apparently, the 7200 model is no longer an option at the store (you can get it on line). This was fine with me because they returned $400 to me due to the lower model and the genius made good points of battery life and heat. Also made me feel better about the whole 17" vs. 15" top model price point. Anyways, on to the fans. I actually hear them rev up at appropriate times and I never recive the 4SN error message.
What does this mean? Well, it's all speculation but, from my experiance you should hear your fans rev up when the computer is being taxed. With each of the 3 machines I did all the same processes and with the first 2 I never heard the fans. I did not keep the first one long enough to notice any process degradation and I'm not saying that there would have been one. As for the second MBP, I did notice degradation and throughout the weeks of owning that machine never once heard the fans rev up. I have had my third MBP for 2 weeks now and the heat is much better and I do hear the fans rev up occasionally.
Anyways, I love the new machine and I hope this helps people understand, a little more, about the fans/4SN error issues.

Yes I still have the whine, but I need to put my head to the keyboard to hear it.
