UnsupportedDataTypeException when sending mail from Java application

I try to get the Java Mail API running. I'm able to compile all sample programs delivered with the API but when I try to run e.g. msgsend, msgsendsample or a sample that I found in this discussion (zmail from zakir_sh), I always get the same error:
javax.mail.SendFailedException: Sending failed;
nested exception is:
javax.mail.MessagingException: IOException while
sending message;
nested exception is:
javax.activation.UnsupportedDataTypeException: no
object DCH for MIME type text/plain; charset=us-ascii
Does anybody has the same problem? What's going wrong?

Initially, I too had difficulty with JavaMail, mainly because I did not read the documentation carefully enough.
I bypassed msgsend, etc. and wrote a very basic program to send mail; fired up my dial-up-connection and everything worked beautifully.
Try the same. If you don't succeed, post your code here.

Send signal from java program to Excel document

Hi
I have a Java-program that once a day brings information from a website on the internet. When this has been done, I want to send a signal to an Excel document to run a vba-macro. The "signal" can e.g. be to put a value in a certain cell in the Excel document.
Any ideas on how to do this?

Thanks gtRpr I didnt actually know what webservices are so I looked them up, below is one of definintions i got, and this is not what I want. The class that i write will be only used by me and only to extract data from one website.

1. find out what the textfields are called on the website that need //do this by hand once
2. parse the website username and password
3. traverse to correct web page
4. return page info in xml format //sorry im new to this side of programming, is it easy to convert html - xml
5. need to strip out all unessary xml comments to reveal me with my specific data

How to send mail through java program in solaris server

hi
i am writing java code to send the mail using my company SMTP
,the program is working fine when i run and deploy in windows environment
but at the same time when i deploy the war to sun solaris server ,it is not working
and throwing the Error saying
java.lang.Exception: Invalid Addresses; nested exception is: javax.mail.SendFailedException: 553 sorry, that domain isn't allowed to be relayed thru this MTA without authentication #5.7.1 at jsp.SendMail._jspService(_SendMail.java:137)
i am using the Authentication also using user id and password of same domain and it is able to authenticate
in windows but not in Solaris
where i am making mistake plz

I ran into a similar error today. I fixed it by setting up SMTP authentication because my ISP's help pages said that they would allow only SMTP authentication.
Here is what I did:
Transport transport =
mailConnection.getTransport("smtp");
transport.connect(
"hostname", "email", "password");
Transport.send(msg);
I also passed the following property while creating the session:
props.put("mail.smtp.auth", "true");
finally turning on debug helped:
session.setDebug(true);
session.setDebugOut(null);

Problem Sending Mail from RSWUWFML2 Program

I didn't found any thread which sloves my problem so that I am putting this one.
Actually I am facing the Problem for sending the mail related to workflow using the progrma RSWUWFML2.
When I execute this program in Foreground it is working fine. but when I schedule in Background then program is selecting the item but not sending the mail.
Can anybody tell me the solution to overcome this problem.

SMTP Settings:
Authentication method: encrypted password
Connection Security: STARTTLS
How can I copy these settings into my iPhone 5S? In Authetication there's only the following options:
Password, MD5 challenge-response, HTTP MD5 Digest and NTLM...

i wrote 1 standalone program which work successfully i.e. it can send more than 1 mail
but in my actual application ,it can send only 1 mail successfully, 2nd time it shows follwing exception

SAP can be configured to send and receive emails from different sources.This section explains how to integrate SAPOffice with an external emailsystem. Your Internet email must be configured and running prior to this.Email from SAP is forwarded to the users external email system..
You can configure inbound and outbound forwarding. Outbound flow forwardsa SAP message (eg: update termination) via UNIX sendmail to the intended recepient. Inbound accepts a message from sendmail and places it in the users SAPOffice inbox. Many companies prefer to configure outbound only.

Problems that you might encounter :-
If you have set up a node in SCOT and it tests out well but recieve the reply.
"Cannot process message in node, parameterscannot be converted".
Make sure the RFC connection is working, and that SapConnect has been installed on the Unix Server or the Microsoft Exchange Server. Originally, I had the same error, and found that nothing had been installed on Unixor Exchange, to support SapConnect.
In SCOT (View -> System Status), your mail remains at the Intransit column.
Check you sendmail.cf files (e.g.Sun Solaris /etc/mail/sendmail.cf). Try using the sendmail command to send a test file at the Unix level. You must be able to send mail at theUnix level before you can send mail at the SAP level.

Configuring SAP 4.6x Internet mail Gateway
SAP can be configured to send and receive emails from different sources.This section explains how to integrate SAPOffice with an external emailsystem. Your Internet email must be configured and running prior to this.Email from SAP is forwarded to the users external email system..
You can configure inbound and outbound forwarding. Outbound flow forwardsa SAP message (eg: update termination) via UNIX sendmail to the intended recepient. Inbound accepts a message from sendmail and places it in the users SAPOffice inbox. Many companies prefer to configure outbound only.

Testing whether your configuration is successful
1. Logon to SAP

3. Write a message and send it to <your_internet_email_address>
4. If you don't see the mail in your internet mailbox, go back and review steps 1-12
Schedule the SAP Internet Mail Gateway Jobs to start every 5 minutes

Problems that you might encounter :-
If you have set up a node in SCOT and it tests out well but recieve the reply.
"Cannot process message in node, parameterscannot be converted".
Make sure the RFC connection is working, and that SapConnect has been installed on the Unix Server or the Microsoft Exchange Server. Originally, I had the same error, and found that nothing had been installed on Unixor Exchange, to support SapConnect.
In SCOT (View -> System Status), your mail remains at the Intransit column.
Check you sendmail.cf files (e.g.Sun Solaris /etc/mail/sendmail.cf). Try using the sendmail command to send a test file at the Unix level. You must be able to send mail at theUnix level before you can send mail at the SAP level.

Program to send mails from an ABAP program

Hello,
 I found the following program on the internet. When i run it i get the status as mail sent, but actually the mail is not delivered to the recipients email address. If i check tcode SBWP, a copy of the sent mail sits in outbox even though it is not actually delivered to the receivers. The domain name is set properly in tcode SCOT. Any attempt to send mail directly using tcode SBWP works fine and a copy of the mail goes in outbox. However mails from the program only go in outbox but are not actually sent.Pls help. The program is as under

Send mail from Portal application using java

Hi everybody,
I'm looking for a way to send mails from my portal application written in java.
Now I've read a lot of topics on this but can't seem to get it straight.
I added a few jars to my project among which is
coll.appl.gw.srvcmail_api.jar
Here you have the ISendMailItem.class and ISendMailService.class files.
Now I know these are interfaces so I created 2 new classes:
Mail implementing ISendMailItem
SendMail implementing ISendMailService
And all of the forced methods are created for me but now I don't know how to use these classes to be able to send a mail.
Can someone help me with this please?

for the transport i've put this

Is this correct? or do I need to fill in more info?
I've adde the mail.jar to my buildpath and put your code in a eventhandler.
When I now generate the corresponding event i get an Exception:
java.lang.ClassCastException: javax.mail.Session
Do you know why I get this?
