Sending mail (Gmail) Problem

I can't send email on my iPod Touch. I can recieve mail but not send. I am using a gMail account. I have tried everything I can think of. I am a Sympatico subscriber (Canadian). Not sure if that makes a difference. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

what are your incoming/outgoing settings set to? i use gmail and mine is setup the following way:
incoming settings
-use ssl ON
-authentication PASSWORD
-server port 993
outgoing settings
-use ssl ON
-authentication PASSWORD
-server port 587
you will have to setup your login creditials where PASSWORD is used. even though password is optional on outgoing messages, i was still required to use it in order to send mail.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Cannot Send Mail (gmail)

Hi all, a few days ago my O2 iPhone with gmail set up suddenly stopped being able to send mail, only receive.
It tells me its unable to send and that I should check my outgoing server settings, thing is, is that they are all perfect and I have tried several different "solutions" posted here and on other forums with no luck.
Anyone else having these problems and know a way to solve it??

Is this only happening on a specific Wi-Fi network?
Try deleting the account from the iPhone, then adding it again.
If that does not work you may want to try a reset and/or restore.

Sender Mail Adapter problem

Hi,
I am having problems to get my sender mail adapter running.
I configured it with the following parameters:
<i>Transport protocol: POP3
Message Protocol: XIALL
Adapter Engine: Integration Server
URL: pop://server
username + pw
poll intervall: 1 Min.</i>
The adapter is active and if I look into the adapter monitoring everything seems to be fine (green light).
But the adapter doesn't poll the messages from the mail account and I cannot see any activity in the message monitoring.
If I try the same configuration with Thunderbird everthing works fine. Also my receiving mail adapter works without any problems for the same account.
Do you have any idea what the problem could be or how I could find out what my mail adapter is doing?

I have the same situation and I haven't any ideas how can I manage it.
I checked all parameters and compared they with documentation. Everything seems to be ok.
I didn't see any messages in the message monitoring, but in the chanel monitoring I found follows:
exception caught during processing mail message; java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect
I tried the same configuration with email client and it worked. I tried change POP on IMAP with URL imap://server/folder. It didn't work also.
Could you please help me?

I can't send mail, SPTP problem

I have POP email account, all set up properly according to the email host's (GoDaddy) parameters and iPad won't recognize username and password so won't send mail. Will receive mail just fine. Been on GoDaddy support line -- they agree everything set up properly and suggested it's an iPad problem. Any help would be apreciated.
(I've tried outgoing port 80 and 3535 and neither works. Both were suggested by GoDaddy, the host.)

Here is what the GoDaddy help site says are the settings for their pop email. Notice that they do say to use port 80 or port 3535 for pop without SSL http://help.godaddy.com/article/4715

I had this same problem with both my imac and mac book pro using hotmail via mac mail with bt as my internet provider. Suddenly 4 months ago out of nowhere i could receive emails but could not send them. I scoured all the threads followed all the fixes none of them worked. However I just phoned apple support and fixed it in a matter of minutes. I am SO happy. This is what the technician advised me:
Go to your apple icon and scroll down to system preferences. Then dependant on what machine you have it is different for my imac and mac book pro click on either air port/wifi then the advanced tab in the bottom right hand corner. Then click on the DNS tab. Hit the + sign on the left hand side and type in 8.8.8.8 then hit the + sign again on the left hand side it will create a new line underneathe and type 8.8.4.4 then hit okay on the bottom right and then hit apply, again on the bottom right. Then send a test email to check but it should be fixed.
Had to share this. Its been driving me mad for months.

My interface keep crashing because of mapping errors. The attachment I am receiving from 3rd party like follow:

This is also how the data come into XI, and then the mapping crashes, how do I change to XML for the mapping to no crash.
I cannot seem to find anything on the module configuration to work for the Sender Mail adapter.

1. You can use MessageTranformBean to convert the Text to XML.

Cannot Send Mail/Password Problems

Whenever I open my primary e-mail account I get a message saying it cannot send mail because no password is provided for the account. (I can receive e-mails on this account, and can send and receive e-mails on my other accounts) I have tried re-entering my password and changing my password and neither have worked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

The provider for my primary account is digis. And as far as I know everything is correct, I've been able to send e-mails on this account for the last year, it has only been the last month or so that I have been getting this error.

How can I reset all my e-mail accounts because I changed all server settings and messed with stuff on my System E-mai preferences on my MAC not knowing what I was doing and now none of my accounts will send mail: Gmail, yahoo, or iCloud account, help!

No e-mail account will send what pops up is the message thatI don't have an outgoing e-mail server because the one I want to choose has wrong network key because I took the network key out and don't know where to get the correct one because it was filled in by the system already

Can't get mail or close mail program- can send mail

Mail program shows spinny thing next to "inbox" forever but receives no new mail. Can't quit either- program hangs and must be force quit. Erased app and replaced with copy from other HD, same problem. Can send mail no problem. Can retrieve new email via web, not mail app. ISP says everything is cool their end. Can't reinstall because installed version is higher than system disc version. Help!

Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:

After having fixed all filesystem issues, if any, move Mail from /Applications/ to the Trash, and reinstall it as described here:

If the version of the system software on your installation disks is earlier than what you’re using now (and only in that case), then you must also reinstall the Combo Update for the type of computer and the version of Mac OS X you’re using, to bring Mail back in sync with the rest of the system:

Basically, you should verify/repair the startup disk before installing the update, no applications should be running while installing it, and you may experience unexpected results if you have third-party system software modifications (not normal applications) installed.
The above won’t solve the problem, but will allow us to at least troubleshoot it properly. Post back with your observations when done. What type of account is this (POP, IMAP, .Mac)?

Smtp - sending mail issues

Bought a new Macbook Pro and have a home wireless connection (Orange). Can send and receive email (Pipex is my office ISP). Had to change smtp setting to Orange's in order to send mail.
Problem: I intend to use my MacBook at various locations and have successfully logged into several wireless connections. Web browsing and receiving email no problem. Sending email never works other than at home?
I cannot beleieve that I have to change smtp settings for every network I connect to in order to send email - It will be impossible.
Pipex and Orange are not interested and offer no help at all. Help please.

Most networks block sending mail on port 25, except for their own customers.
Ask Orange or Pipex (or google for it) if they have an alternate smtp port (like 587) that works instead of port 25.

Have a proble with a Send Mail server..Please Help Me..!!

i Have a issue with my mail server running over linux server, i have a especific problem when i try to authentificate in server. i test with a 10.4 and 10.5 S.O. The trouble is when i try to send mail from my server, the mail can not send the mail but can receive the mail, the mail.app send the error it can't not send mail over the server. My server using the plaint text authentication and never send the mail. But a test with the microsof entourage and i can send mail without problems, the issue only happen with mail. Only can send mail if put the static ip address in my mac whithout dhcp not send and not valide with server. I test from out side of my server and other ISP but i not have result.

Have you tried holding the MENU and SELECT (center) buttons until you see the Apple logo to reset it?

Why can't I recieve mails on my ipad from icloud? I can send mails no problems there. This has only recently happened before it was working fine. When I go to check for new mails I get the following message: Cannot Get Mail The connection to the server failed. Please help, this is very fustrating.

I can hear that frustration for sure. I deal with it every day.
I would continue to push the landline provider over and over and over. They provide you with the landline service. They cannot complete the call to your cell phone. Everyone else can. Therefore it is their responsibility to make it work or at least give you a reasonable detailed explanation as to why it doesn't work so you could at least take the next appropriate steps. Do you have a trouble ticket number with the landline provider? Make sure they give you a trouble ticket number if you don't. Without a trouble ticket number you will have to continually repeat yourself every time you call them. With a ticket number every time you call you could tell the technician to reference that ticket number.
Like I said when you're talking with someone in a managerial position request that they do call traces while you are making the call from the landline in real time. They should be able to see what happens to the call as it comes into and leaves their network. If they give you any call clearing or failure codes please document them and repeat them here.
I would also ask the Rep to also make a test call to your cell phone and see what happens. If they can and you can't then it is clearly a problem with a switch on their network.

I changed the connection security in Thunderbird from SSL/TLS to STARTTLS for the Yahoo SMTP account and I can now send mails without problem with the Eset IMAP checking enabled. Problem solved. Thank you

On your iPhone you need to change your password in 2 places:
- Incoming Mail Server and
- Outgoing Mail Server
To get to the password entry for the Outgoing Mail Server you have to tap on cell smtp.live.com and again on the second view.
