Sending Messages at a Specific Time?

Does anyone know if there's a way to keep outgoing messages in your Outbox and not send them immeadietly without Saving for Later?
Sometimes I'll write an email late at night, but don't want it to send until say 8 a.m. Is there a way to set the message not to send until then or to tell the outbox to send mail at a specific time?
Perhaps a way to set Automator to send the messages at a speciifc time?

Cannot send messages to a specific UK number via U...

Hi
I am having trouble sending an SMS to a *specific* UK number. The number can receive SMSs OK from me using my UK SIM, even while I'm in the states.
The combinations I have tried are:
* handset 6101b in UK with UK sim - OK
* handset 7250i in UK with UK sim - OK
* handset 7250i in USA with UK sim - OK
* handset 6101b in USA with USA sim - problem
So it's not my handset that's the problem, it looks like it's the USA sim or network (t-mobile) that's the problem.
I can send SMS to other UK number using my USA phone ok, just not this one specific number.
The phone says "Sending.... Message Sent" and the immediately the delivery report comes in saying "Not Sent To xyz".
Could it be that the recipient network (PAYG) has banned *receipt* of international messages? Seems unlikely. The recipient network is Tesco.
Could it be that my USA network has banned me from sending messages to this UK network? I doubt it as all my other USA-to-UK messages are received.
Any thoughts please?

I would think it'd be a problem with the handset rather than the operators... Can't think what though if it's sending texts to other numbers...

Can't send message to a SPECIFIC Mac email address

My daughter has two iCloud e-mail addresses (@mac.com, @me.com), as do I. My outgoing and incoming iCloud mail service is working properly EXCEPT when – and ONLY when – I try to send her mail. I get the infamous “cannot send message using the server" error message and it gets stuck in my outbox. Repeated attempts to send the message are unsuccessful. This odd behavior has only shown up in the last month. I've tried everything I can think of to resolve it, including removing and setting up my own account and the outgoing server.
Can anyone figure out what could possibly cause my system to reject/block any message from being sent out to a single e-mail address??

Hello too_confused! I am so sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with texting this person! Just to clarify, are you able to text other people? When texting do you use her area code? (This can be found if you check the contact information in your address book.) Also, does your friend have Verizon as well? What make & model device does she have?

Send Message alert for a time field

Hello,
I have a finish time field in a memorandum agenda form which I would like an alert (message) sent 2 minutes before the finish time expires.
The script has an error message for the "," on line 4.

I need help with recalculating the current time field as the execCalculate() will update once and remain static.
This is the function in the current time field for the current time - DateTimeField1.rawValue = num2time(Time(), TimeFmt(1))
Is there a way to have the time field show like a system clock time and refresh automatically?
I think this will be the only way I can get the formcalc script to work the way it should.
Any suggestions you may have will be most appreciated.

Does your daugher have an iPhone? You cannot use the Messages app with non iOS users and non iPhone users.

I am trying to figure out if there is a way to send an email to someone (not my own address) at a specific time on a specific date? Essentially I want to compose the email but only have it sent at midnight on December 1.

I don't think so, not in Mail.app. However, there is a group of apple scripts available known as "Mail Scripts 2.10" that has as one of the scripts a thing called "Schedule Delivery (Mail)." From the webpage, it states that this script "Allows you to send individual messages at predefined times (this script uses iCal for scheduling message delivery)." I've not personally used it so I'm not familiar with it, but this may be of interest to you.

Enforce to send the messages pending, after the Time To Deliver is changed

JMS Queue is being used to send data from our database to the headquartersâ€™ database.
          Our organization considers using "Time To Deliver Override" during the scheduled downtime of the headquartersâ€™ database. For example, when our admin is informed by the headquarters' admin that downtime is scheduled, our admin can change "Time To Deliver Override" from -1 to 1200000 (20 hrs) in WebLogic Consol. Then, when the database is back, our admin will reset the value to -1.
          It is simple and quick. However, I realized that the messages pending will not processed for the â€œTime To Deliverâ€ which was configured when the message was added.
          Can WebLogic enforce to send the messages pending, after the "Time To Deliver Override" is changed back to -1?

A few related points:
          - I think 9.x may provide mbean/JMX/administrative options to change time-to-deliver in existing messages - but, even if it does, this seems unwieldy.
          - 9.x also provides options for adminstratrively pausing delivery of a destinations messages, and/or pausing MDBs.
          - I think the "time-to-deliver override" also supports setting absolute times via cron like schedules (eg - you can configure it so messages are born at a specific time.)
          - Another option is to introduce an intermediate destination and configure a "messaging bridge" to forward messages between them. When messaging needs to be pause, administratively stop the bridge.

The receiver app has a specific list of servers it's compatible with, if the server is not on the list the app won't work in OS X.

Sending UDP messages to different specific IP addresses

I am trying to communicate to three specific IP addresses and send messages to each using UDP from a front panel. I have three loops set up in my program, each loop communicates to each IP address, but it seems some loops take precedence over others. If I adjust one set of controls, it works, but other controls may or may not. It also may flip-flop into which set of controls work after long periods of delay but seems more or less intermittent. Is there a better way of doing this?

It may be that 10ms isn't enough of a timeout for the network socket to open?
Are you getting any errors out when it fails to send?
If I were you, I would remove the UDP Open and Close functions outside of the loops - I would open the connection outside of the loop and then close it at the end otherwise you are trying to reserve ports every time you change a value. You would also need to handle shutdown so the connection gets closed at the end.

Open Automator, click on Mail on the left pane and look around. The description of each action is pretty good.
Pretty much your workflow should look like something like this:
*Get specified finder items
*New mail message
*Send outgoing messages

Sending a message to a specific ip address

this might be an obvious question to some of you, but how do you send a message to another user on an airport network using a specific ip address? is this possible through ichat?

You can do it via various means, but not without some action on the part of the target - the ability to blindly send messages to some unsuspecting user is too easy to exploit (and has been done many times in the Windows world via 'net send'...).
If you want to use something like iChat then you'll need an iChat server, and you send messages by username, not by the IP address of the machine they're on.
Alternatives include AppleScript (which you can use to 'display dialog' on a remote system that you have privileges on), or even something like Growl, both of which need actions by the user to enable.
