Sending notification email to a group which is under a local domain

Hi,
I can assign tasks to local groups (under local domain, but people are from enterprise). But i cannot send email to these local groups. Send mail operation accepts only email address as input. Could you advice an easy way to do it. I tried FindGroupMembers operation, but it gives the error 'String length is wrong'.
I use LC 8.2
Thanks in advance

We have done this for many clients here at Cardinal. We wrote some SQL that queried all the email addresses for users under a specified group and specified (optionally) domain and returned the data as XML which is then used to create a comma-separated list of the email address.
We wrapped all that up in a component that accepts the following as input:
Group Name or ID
Domain Name or ID (optional)
Subject
Body (as either HTML or standard text)
The component then sends an email based on the above parameters (and some others that you can optionally specifiy such as a CC and/or BCC list and emails everyone within the group and (if specified) domain.
Let me know if you'd like more information as I'd be happy to help.

I can see how you do that when using the 'normal' emailing system from my mailing box, but not when working from the contact application (the 'book' on the bottom icon bar with the @ on it)....

  • Sending an email to a group using Mail

    Hi,
On my mac, to send an email to a group, I just type in the name of the group in my address book and all the emails pop up instantly. However, this doesn't happen when sending an email on my iPhone. Is there a way to send group emails using my iPhone? I have the address book synced so all my contacts and groups are in the address book on the iPhone the same as my mac. Thanks

Not directly using the Mail app, no. There are 3rd party apps that provide that function, for example:

  • How do I send an email to a group address using my iPad

I use and IPad Air 2 with latest IOS and am trying to send and email to a group.  How do I do this?  I simply type in the group name when I'm sending the message from my iMac, however that doesn't work on my iPad.  I have the group set up on my iCloud account and have that account selected on my iPad, still when I type in the group name, nothing comes up.  Suggestions?

I Might have worked this out! Go into contacts, tap add. When the box comes up put the name of the group you want to create as the first and last names. In Add email box neR the first email address, then tap add email address again and add another email address, continue until you have entered all the email addresses for the group. When finished tap Done.
Open email and in the To, Cc or Bcc box key in the name of the group. All email addresses should then receive the email when you tap send.
this works for me on my iPad air 2.
THIS HAS WORKED FOR ME YESTERDAY AND TODAY!

  • How can I send an email to a group from my iPhone?

I want to send an email to a group in my contacts, but when I select the group, the individuals display for selection.  How can I send an email by addressing it to the group?

I recently upgraded my wife's computer to mountain lion so we could sync it with her iPhone, allowing her to send emails to the groups she manages whether she's at home or on the road.
Is it really the case that the iPhone is incapable of this?  The mac does it fine and the iPhone goes through the motions but then bails when you hit send, saying it isn't a valid address.
This really makes no sense.  Isn't this the whole point of iCloud?

  • How can I send an email to a group in my address book, but hide the individual names and email addresses?

how can I send an email to a group in my address book, but hide the individual names and email addresses?

You used to be able to do this through leaving unchecked the box in preferences "when sending to a group show all member addresses". However, that feature failed some time ago (two or three years?) and the only way to hide the addresses now is to put the group in the BCC field.

  • Help!  I recently upgraded to OS 10.9.4 from 10.6.8, and now when I want to send an email to a group in my contacts I am no longer able to select the group as a whole.  I have to select each address individually.  This can't be right.

Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the
computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager
screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Reinstall the 10.9.4 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 Update (Combo).
    4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Reinstall the 10.9.4 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.4 Update (Combo).

Why can't I send an email to a "group" if I have a group in my address book??

You are not doing anything wrong. Unfortunately, that's just the way that the built in mail app works. It really is a basic no frills mail app with not much to offer compared to other apps.
There are third party apps that let you create groups and email to those groups. I don't use either of these, but I've seen them recommended here in the past.

How do I send an email with a group address and not show the addresses/names of the recipients?

Use BCC.   That's blind carbon copy.   And copy paste the address into the BCC field.  It really depends what e-mail program you use how to enable BCC.

  • How to send Notification email to Outlook mail?

    am new to workflow,
is there any possiblity with sending notification emails using rule?
in my requirement i have to send email notifications to concerned manager using A002 relationship in HR?
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
You will have to do the following:
    1. Create a new container element (for eg. APPROVER) with Data type WFSYST-AGENT.
    2. Create a new background method(if required create a new Business object also) to your BO object to populate this container element.
    3. Use the following code in your method:
         DATA: G_SNAME TYPE SMNAM,
            G_USER TYPE SYSID,
            NEXT_PROCESSOR_TAB     TYPE PTREQ_UIA_APPROVER_TAB.
         PERFORM FIND_NEXT_PROCESSOR(RPTREQAPPRCHK)
         USING
         PERNR
         REQTYPE
         CHANGING
         NEXT_PROCESSOR_TAB
         G_SNAME
         G_USER.
         CONCATENATE 'US' G_USER INTO APPROVER.
    3. Add a new activity step to your workflow calling this method.
    4. Use your(current) send mail step with agent field having value 'APPROVER'.
    Hope this will work.
    Regards

  • How to send one email to entire group.

Looking for reference on how to send one email to entire group.

I think you're confused about some basic Java programming techniques.
There are two obvious ways to do this.
    1. Call the addRecipient method in a loop.
    2. Collect all the recipients in a List, convert it to an array, and call addRecipients.

They've always been able to send to me individually - just not when my email is part of a group or even when it's just included with several other addresses added one at a time.

Shootist007, I think Cdf15 wants each recipient to see his/her own email address.
Cdf15, you can't quite do what you asked with Mail alone, but you can come close with a slight variant of what Shootist007 recommended. Just put a dummy address (perhars the sender's) in the To field and all recipient addresses in the Bcc field. That way, no recipient sees either the other recipients' addresses or their own.
