Sending other files to ipod

I have some video files of my own on my computer. Itunes will not open the files in itunes, so I manually sent the files from the folder to my ipod. Now I can't find the files. If you know where they go or how to find them, please anything would help.
I know they're on my ipod somewhere because after sending the files to my ipod the orange other bar increased a lot.

You can't find them on your iPod. I did the same thing and the video you put on is probely not in the right format meaning you need to convert it. So even though it shows up in other you can't get to it on you iPod. To get the "other" off your iPod do th following...
This bar should not take more than few megabytes so you must have used your iPod in disk mode and added files through My Computer. To delete these go to My Computer > iPod (make sure your iPod "disk use" is enabled in iTunes) and delete the files you added there. DO NOT try to delete any files/folders that you did not create as it will mess up your iPod.
If this post solved or helped you problem please mark so thanks, Zack

You'll have to restore the ipod, looks like you had problems during a sync.

  • FINALLY! One resource for sending Muxed files to iPod

I challenged somebody last night and they responded tonight. Podner, find it at versiontracker.com, finally allows you to drop muxed MPEG files onto a software program that outputs in various file formats that automatically work in iTunes and for the iPod Video. TRY IT!!! It's awesome!

Well there must be 500 posts with how to do this over the last weeks including mentioning Podner dozens of times, however since it costs money and MPEG Streamclip works as well for free, the latter seems a better option.
Search here before posting and discover how this has been covered. 52 times Podner is mentioned. Streamclip, 111 times.

  • Send other files through bluetooth

could anyone suggest a way to send files other than music videos and offices through bluetooth. I wantd to share .pdf files and all, but its not working. And also please suggest me a gud filemanager for lumia 720

Hi, raghav1988. Transferring PDF files via Bluetooth is not supported. However, you add it as a suggestion here: https://windowsphone.uservoice.com/forums/101801-feature-suggestions. skm93 We're unable to recommend a specific application. Suggest checking the Store using your phone for an app with that capability. Feel free to post here if you have further questions.

  • I downloaded to the version and all music was lost.  If I use the restore option, will I loose all my other files on ipod?

I downloaded the latest version of Itunes.  After the game was downloaded, all my music was lost.  How do I recover my music?

I am confused.  Did you update the iTunes on your computer?  You download the game to your computer?  Of this all done with your computer and itunes you do not have a iPod problem and posting in the iTunes forum is more appropriate.

  • "Other" files in iPod:  How to delete

In the first few minutes navigating around my new ipod I managed to dump some CD "cda" tracks into the ipod. They show up on the summary screen as "Other". How to I find and delete them?

If the iPod is enabled for disk use, you can look at the folders on the iPod through Explorer and delete anything you don't want.
Otherwise, see how to restore the iPod to factory settings which will erase the iPods contents and reclaim the used space.
Then reload the music from iTunes.

  • Can send podcast files only to iPod?

Actaully the only purpose I use iTune for is to find and listen to podcasts. I don't use iPod. It looks like iTunes can send podcast files to iPod (synchronize), but what about other devices? As for me, I'm using an iRiver mp3 player, which acts like a usb mass storage drive. When I plug the player in, Windows Media Player detects it and shows sync menu. But iTunes doesn't seem to do anything. So the bottom line is only iPod is compatible with iTunes? Is there any other way to use other mp3 player than iPod in iTunes? What I want to do is just send the downloaded podcast files to the iRiver player automatically.

    Thank you for your answer.
It is a shame that iTunes supports only iPod, since there are many other mp3 players and many people are forced to use iTunes to find and subscribe to podcasts. Yes, I know there are many other podcast download programs, but the problem is there is no other way to find various Japanese podcasts than at apple store->podcasts. I hope I could access that page with normal web browser but apple blocks it. It surely looks like a web page but when I try to go to that page with my web browser, it redirects me to some other page.
So it looks like the only ways are,
1)Manually copy files to my iRiver
    or
2)Find the url of podcasts from iTunes and then paste the url into other podcast download program such as ipodder.

  • BBM - cannot send picture files to a contact

    Hi,
I have a BB Torch 9800. When I try to send pictures to a particular contact it says that my contact was 'unable to save the file'
I am able to send other files (ie music) and they are able to send pictures and music to me and can recieve pictures from their other contacts. Also I am able to send pictures to my other contacts.
The only thing that is different is that they are in the US and I am in the UK.
Any help would be much appreciated.....Its very frustrating!
    Thanks!

    1. Messages on the iPad can only send messages to other iDevices and Mac Computers running Mountain Lion.
    2. They must also be registered with iMessage
Note: Must meet the above criteria?

  • All music save as other file

for some reason when i download all my music from pc to ipod 7gen classic they become other files. it will not let me load any of my music to my ipod. most are from cd i got or stuff i order from itunes. not sure why it makes all music files as other files when done. if i where to reconnect it to computer. itunes will only show ipod classic with 75 songs. so i do not see 3822 items i have on itunes. it just show only 75 song out of 3777 songs that ipod 7gen classic says as other file. so why does show all songs as other file on ipod but when ipod hooked to itunes it show only 75 song i can not play on ipod or 3777 other songs which are called other file.

Thanks. I'm not an IT person and needed that lead.
In the end, I just printed to Adobe PDF and then was able to use the commenting options (once I had flattened it). For those who might come across this - this is one of the only ways to flatten a XFA PDF.

  • Problem sending word files

I can't send MS Word files via email. I have tried this both with a gmail account and a work email account. Both emails were sent from the mail application. I can send other file types.
    Any thoughts?

What happens when you try? Do you get an error from Mail, or a bounceback message? I know that GMail filters mail for viruses, including Word macro viruses (which do exist on the Mac), so that may be one possibility.

  • Cannot send videos and other files on ipad air

There is no button "send files" on my 4.19 skype. I can send photos, video message, but not video from my ipad library or any other files. Any sollutions?

Were they able to confirm that their app will allow the download of files of that size? There should not be any issue with downloading files sizes when on Wi-Fi. The phone does not have restrictions, but a timeout can be an error of the ISP, or something the App does. Then again, if you are downloading via Wi-Fi, is the device going to sleep during this time? Is it connected to power? If it is going to sleep and is not connected to power, even in the download mode, the sleep mode of the iPad could be disconnecting the Wi-Fi. Try doing it with the iPad connected to power.

That's a kernel panic and indicates some sort of problem either with the computer's hardware or software. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on diagnosing kernel panics. It would help to post the panic log: Mac OS X- How to log a kernel panic.
Meanwhile, try booting the computers into Safe Mode then restarting normally. If this is simply a disk repair or cache file problem then this may fix it.
You can also try creating a new admin account on each computer then booting into the new account. This would help determine if the problem is related to a bad file in the user accounts.

  • Ipod classic full with "other files", restoring not helping.

    Hi.
I've read other threads about this problem on various devices. It's an 80GB ipod, 37 with music, 35.5 GB of other.  I've restored it, and it fills with other files again when I do the new long sync. It's not enabled for disk mode or manual syncing. Windows autoplay opens when I plug it in, though, which is strange.  I've looked at the ipod in Windows explorer and there is a folder with 35.3 GB of data: in multiple folders of 3.95GB. Those folders have long serial-number-like names. No music seen from winows explorer, but it's there on the ipod.  Not even seen in hidden folders: weird.
Sometimes when windows recognizes the ipod on plug-in, it says the disk should be scanned and fixed. I think I did it eventually, although I felt that all tinkering should happen from within itunes.
I am not syncing photos, notes, calendar, contacts, or anything other than music and podcasts. my podcasts are not so many.
So I took a leap and deleted the 35.3-GB file from within Windows explorer. It seems to have worked: itunes and the ipod now shows that space as free.
I have no idea what all this is about, or how it happened. I'm sharing this to contribute to the conversation, since it's helped me to read other folks' posts.
    Any ideas?  Speak up...

    Wow: got another solution.
CrashPlan, the backup software, thought my ipod was drive E:\ and was backing up my computer to it.  Crazy!
In case anyone else has this issue: check your backup software!

  • Ipod touch full with 'other files' - can't see how to get rid!

My ipod touch has 17.5GB of 'other' files but I can't see how and it won't let me sync all of my songs I've clicked through all the summary bits. I've unticked all videos, TV programmes etc so they shouldn't sync onto the device but nowhere can I see anything about other files! VERY VERY VERY FRUSTRATING! Please help!
    Thanks in advance.

An "other" larger than about 1 1/2 GB indicates corrupted files.

Next, usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.
