Sending .pages doc to iWeb

i created a document in Pages, my resume actually, that I want to add as a page in iWeb.
In Pages, I select from the menu "Send to iWeb." Then, when iWeb opens, I am asked to select a kind of theme page in iWeb. I select just a blank page theme.
My .pages doc loads in the new iWeb blank page. The problem is that the .pages doc is way too small on the iWeb page, much smaller than the webpage itself. So what I do to fix this is I just stretch the .pages document until
it fits the size of the iWeb page. However, this is not a good thing because
stretching the .pages doc, or any doc, reduces the quality and it ends up looking not so good.
My question is: how do I send a .pages document to iWeb so that
it fits on an iWeb page correctly, so that I don't need to stretch it out
to make it bigger so it wil fit the iWeb page?
PS: initially, I set the iWeb page the same size dimension as the .pages document, but it still inserts small on the iWeb page.
thanks for all suggestions!

Here's are two sample sites done with Pages objects.

Here's how it looks in Pages
http://www.wyodor.net/Demo/MyHouse/Pages_Landschap01.png
The problem is: it pastes on the iWeb page much smaller
It's not a problem. The scale of Pages and iWeb are not the same. Simple re-arrange the objects until it suites your taste. It's called webdesign.
I mean just copy and paste a Page document onto a blank iWeb page.
That's not what you said.

Perhaps a better understanding of the language would help. It allows you to better understand your problem, to convey what it is you want to know and for others not to waste their time finding solutions for problems that are not there.

  • Has anyone solved the problem of sending Pages docs to Windows machines?

I am trying to create a business newsletter that can be emailed to anyone who wants it. I'm working with OS X 10.4.10 and Pages. My business partner, who works on a PC, can't read a Pages doc, so I converted it to a pdf, and Windows won't read that, either. So I exported it as a Word doc, and he can read that, except the colors aren't true. What kind of a program creates files that pdf readers can't view? And why did I spend my money on Pages if it can't create a file everyone can read?

Strange, I've been emailing PDFs with no problems at all.
I am the only MAC-MAN in the office so all my work goes to 100% PC "market".
A wild guess - are you using Apple Mail app? If so, make sure the "Send Windows friendly attachments" is selected.
    Do not encrypt the PDFs.
Do not include EPS graphics (just in case...)
JPEGs rather than TIFFs (dunno why, but better safe...)
And most importantly, make sure the end users have the latest Acrobat Reader!!!
You would be surprised to find how many "incompatibilities" boil down to obsolete software being used.
To give you an example, I did an internal use web page using a FLASH animation, and several users sent me VERY ANGRY emails that the "MAC crap" doesn't work on their computers, well, guess what, for security (MS-security, not REAL security) FLASH was disabled on the network computers, nuf'said!
    Failing all above, send HTML.
Hope you solve the problem. Keep us posted.

  • Updated to Mavericks 10.9.3 mac mini won't send pages doc to iphoto

Since  I updated my Mac mini to Mavericks 10.9.3,  I can't send a pages doc to iphoto anymore. I'm using the up dated version of iphoto @  9.5.1 which I like & don't want to revert back
to the other.. any thing I can do?
The message I get when I try to send it to iphoto reads:
Unreadable Files:1    The following file could not be imported. The file is in an unrecognized format.
    /var/folders/qb/w6pxy7yn19v_njw5qpzth7f80000gn/T/com.apple.iWork.Pages/printing .312.1/LINX WEB SITE.pdf
Thank you in advance for your help.
BTW, I am computer illiterate. Fred Flintstone could do a better job figuring this out.

    Hi,
I'm using the up dated version of iphoto @  9.5.1 which I like & don't want to revert back to the other.. any thing I can do?
I believe once the new version touches the files, older versions can no longer read them, though the pics are still there.
    Might try this...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
    Reboot & try it.

  • Can't attach a Pages doc in an iWeb created site

We have created a web site using iWeb for some private school tutoring. We have set up a blog page for the students to use as a type of discussion board. We have comments and attachments enabled. For some reason, iWeb will not allow any document created in their own Pages app to be submitted as an attachment. Any other word processing document (Word, RTF, text, etc.) can be attached, just not Pages docs. The students accessing this site are several hundred miles away. They are using Macs and iWork, including Pages, to do their work. Oddly, files created in Numbers and Keynote can be attached, just not Pages. Is this intentional disabling by Apple, or just a bug? Any help on this issue would be appreciated.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Have you applied the new update, iWeb 3.0.2?

  • I can no longer send mail using the "Share" feature when typing a page doc.  What should I do?     age doc. and saving to desktop

I need help with th "Share" feature when typing a "Page" doc.  I use to type a page, save it on desktop and then Share it.  Now when I go to "Share" and say send as a "PDF file, it does not pull up an e-mail.  What shold I do?.
    Thanks,
    Va

You are referring to the Pages application? And you do not have this drop down window in the menu bar under Share?
I just tried it and clicked on Pages and my Mail app opened with the document already imported.
Which Mac OS X version and Pages version are you using?

  • How do I save a page doc in word (so I can attach it to an email and send it)

I'm a poet who has to submit my poems via submission managers at literary journals.  Most journals need these attached in a Word doc or Rtf file...but I can't figure out how to covert an existing page doc poem to a word doc so I can do this.
Also, is it possible in pages to "save" a pages file as rtf? how?
    Pat

    thank you Tom...
I did try this...  am still a little confused.   "share" doesn't work ...I get a message that IWORK is discontinued.
Also, after I go to export and click on "Word"  and click on export again....where does the resulting file go to get stored?  Is it on my computer then (on the desktop if I say that's where it goes?)...so that when attaching it to the submissions manager I would hit "browse" and find it on the computer/desktop and then hit attach?   I'm not even sure I'm explaining this right.

  • Emailing individual Pages from a Pages doc?

I am mebership secretary of an organisation. Next month I have to send individual invoices to over 100 members. to create personalised invoces, I set up the invoice in Pages and then used Numbers to merge individual members' names, addresses, etc into this document.
Last year I was working on a PC and with Word and Excel and there was an option to email individual pages from the Word doc. It was easy and quick to send out all the invoices.
However, in Pages, it only offers merge to a new document or to the printer. Even if there was a was a way of being able to quickly separate each page (ie individual invoice) from the one Pages doc, I could individually send the emails, but it looks as if separating the pages will be long and laborious.
It has to be easy and straightforward - ie not using Apple script (if at all possible), as whoever takes over this role from me - and who may not be so computer savvy, will need to be able to do this job easily.
    Grateful for any suggestions.

    s,
Go ahead and Print the Pages document to PDF > Open in Preview.
Make sure that you are viewing the thumbnails in the Sidebar.
    1. Click on a page thumbnail in the Sidebar of the PDF document, visually confirm the content, Command-C to Copy.
    2. File > New From Clipboard
    3. File > Mail Document.
Repeat steps 1-3 for each page you wish to mail.

  • How to transfer files Pages docs in bulk from iPad to Mac

Since the lovely iCloud Drive came out and Yosemite, things have been woefully out of sync with my iPad.  I've posted in a number of places on these boards and even, according to a rep I've been in touch with from Apple Support, an engineer is troubleshooting the problem. I have a LOT of Pages docs I've accumulated in iCloud on my iPad.  I cannot access iCloud through a browser or on my desktop Mac.  In other words, I can view and edit files from my iPad, but I canNOT do the same on my Mac.  If I want to transfer files from my iPad the only way I can think of is
    Open Pages
Tap the arrow up at the top
    Tap send a copy
    Tap ONE selected document
Tap what format to send it in (sadly, I'm using Word b/c I don't trust Pages anymore)
Tap selection of how to send (to ITunes)
Only then can I go to iTunes on my Mac and transfer the file.  I have probably hundreds of docs I want and need and can't afford to have them floating semi-available in the cloud or lost forever.
    A few other details:
    - I cannot access Pages in iCloud through a browser (any browser, any machine, anywhere; I've tried every combination possible, when I log into iCloud and go to Pages, it cycles and then dumps me out to the login screen)
    - I have a few third-party apps which let me look into my iPad and have slightly more functionality than iTunes permits, but none of them permit wholesale basic drag-and-drop a bunch of files and save to another drive.  I know this is b/c the files are ostensibly in iCloud, but
    - Here are other places I've posted about this problem
    can't log in to iCloud.com
Pages under Yosemite not in sync with iCloud Drive and other issues
    Thanks in advance.....

Though no one replied to this topic, I'm updating with what I've learned after spending many hours on the phone with an Apple tech rep who had esacalated to engineers.  There is NO solution.  Docs that are out of sync or unretrievable from iCloud or iCloud Drive, they cannot assist with.  They offered to wipe my iCloud Drive account and reset it, but I wanted them to restore it afterwards.  Just a simple, pull the data off, dump it on an FTP server so I can access it. Nope.  No assistance.  Not their problem.  I have to manually pull ALL the files off my iPad's iCloud account, the ones I can get to and go through this insane 6 step process to get to those docs.  Really disappointed with Apple.  Using MS Word on the iPad and though not perfect...at least the Pages docs won't be lost.

  • How do I get Pages docs to iCloud?

I've only have a Macbook Pro running Lion--no iphone or ipad.  I've made the movedfrom MobileMe to iCloud.  Mail, Contacts, and Calender have uploaded and are there, but the iWork icon sends me to a page that says, "To get started, launch Pages on your iOS device and turn on iCloud."  I don't have an iOS device and don't plan on getting one.  Can I still get my pages docs from my macbook pro to the iCloud?

Thanks for your quick response.  I am disappointed with the iCloud.  It is bad enough losing my Gallery, now I can't even upload a document.  Maybe Apple's wisdom will become apparent in time . . . or maybe not.

  • MBP Pro doesn't recognize Pages docs from iPad, vice versa

Beacuse I'd like to be able to experience the wonderful seamlessness of the new cloud with Mountain Lion, I downloaded Mountain Lion onto my MacBook Pro, as well as the Pages app (I previously had Pages '09), in addition to downloaded the Pages app for iOS (iPad 2 and iPhone 4S).
I thought that in theory, I could start a document on the iPad/Phone and it woudl appear on the MBP, as well, as vice versa. That has not happened. Specifically, I was taking notes last week on the iPad and when it didn't pop up on my MBP or the Cloud on the MBP, i email the document as Pages document to myslef and thought I could just open it on the MBP then and it'd appear as a new Pages doc there. Well, when i downloaded the Pages doc from the iPad onto the MBP, I got a message saying The open XML file could not be opened because there are problemns with it, and The file is corrupt and cannot be opened. How can it be corrupt? I just created it a few days ago on the iPad? Also, when i follow prompts to open the document, the message box is a Word one? Why is Word then stepping in to try to open it? Shouldn't an Apple app on one machine recognize a document made on an Apple app on another device? I should point out this has happened everytime I've tried to share documents on my mac devices via Pages.
Also, kind of related, when i go to the options of what to do with the file on the iPad, i get the option to use iwork -- but of course there is no iWork anymore. So why hasn't this option beeen updated? Why not just a 'save to cloud' option? And what's this 'send to itunes' option? I selected that for one document and of course that didn't work, either.
    Thanks so much.

You do need to turn on iCloud syncing on the iOS devices as it is not on by default. Go to Settings & scroll way down to the apps area & tap on Pages & turn iCloud syncing on. The same applies to your Macs, go to System Preferences > iCloud & check Documents & Data. Of course, you must have a iCloud account.

  • Using a .pages document in iWeb

Being that I am new to iWeb and struggling a bit, can somebody help with a simple problem.
I have a Pages document that I have spent some time honing. It contains many photos in context with the text (usually fixed not floating). With the photos it is some 50Mb in size.
I have tried sending the document to iWeb as a Pages document but nothing seems to appear the other end. As a PDF file it appears but only as a link in a placeholder box. Copy/pasting to a new webpage transfers the information, but the order of the photos is totally scrambled.
Am I doing something wrong or too complicated? Is there a better way to make such a page (for example using links to existing photos in my MobileMe Gallery?
    Thanks for any help.

Is there a better way to make such a page
It would be better to create it in iWeb to start with. Pages isn't intended for making websites.

  • I am trying to get pages docs created on my iPhone onto my iMac

I am trying to get pages docs created on my iPhone onto my iMac. I have iTunes 10.5 and the help docs says that in iTunes the Pages app should automatically list the docs on my iPhone. I am using the 'send to iTunes' option in the 'share and print' menu but no files appear in iTunes (the iPhone is connected and recognised by iTunes). Any ideas? The docs don't mention that I need a particular version on Pages on my Mac.
    Any help gratefully recevied.
    Andrew

    Dear Peter,
Thank you for the suggestion. I have looked at the discussion you highlighted. Unfortunately, it does not really deal with the issue I am experiencing. The discussion concerns problems with iCloud. I am not attempting to use iCloud to transfer files.
The discussion does mention using iTunes to first back up the files. However, the correspondent does not mention the problem I am experiencing. I understand from the help docs that when I after I have synced my iPhone, then the files I have created using Pages should be listed in the Apps part of iTunes. However, this does not seem to be so on my computer. The files do not appear even when I use the 'send to iTunes' option.
Is there something I am missing?
    Any further help gratefully received,
    Andrew

  • Transferring Pages document to iWeb as a blog

I have created a 3 page 'blog' in Pages 09 using 'Informal newsletter'; 'Photo collage'; and 'Insert 2 columns with sidebar' for successive sheets. I then tried to 'send to iWeb' using 'Pages' . A My blog icon appeared with Pages title & ipsum laurem text.
I cannot open this blog. Neither does 'next' or 'previous' functions work (yet). Neither the blog nor archive seem to open as described in the tutorial.
Have also copy/paste of individual sheets successfully, from Pages without becoming a continuous blog, although this is not the way to produce a blog!
    Any suggestions

You want the pages designed in Pages to be the pages in iWeb?
Or do you send Pages as a file to iWeb for download.
If it is the first option then copy/paste the objects from Pages to iWeb.
    That's what I did :

  • Why is a page doc attached mail not going out through gmail?

Since the update I can't send out an email attached with a page doc. I have continually received the message "Cannot send message using the server Gmail" "because this message's content presents a potentialsecurity issue" If I change it into any format beside page, it goes out. pdf and ms doc have no problem with it.
Can anyone help me figure this out? why does this happen?

You can set Firefox home page to one of your choosing, see [[how to set the home page]].
If the keep me signed in option is not working, you may have a malformed cookie. Try deleting Google/Gmail cookies, for details on how to do that see [[deleting cookies]].

  • Dropbox vs. iCloud for Sharing Pages Docs

iCloud Dive has been erratic and unreliable for me sharing a pages docs. iOS Pages says it now supports Dropbox.
         1. Can I save my Pages docs in Dropbox and have them still appear in Pages iOS "thumbnail directory"?
         2. Are they automatically saved to Dropbox?
          3. Can I use iCloud beta on a PC tomstill edit, these docs from Dropbox?

Dropbox still has some integration issues with iWorks apps as far as actually appearing in the available storage options list. You can, however, export and store Pages files (in native format) to drop box as well Box and other file management apps, as well as send them from those apps to Pages for editing.
