I need to send two .jpg photos that are in iphoto to someone. They are asking for them as attachments.
How do I do this?

Hold the comand, shift keys and tap the '+' key will increase the font size in any app.
You can also set the font size in the Mail Preferences.

Photos as attachments to email

When trying to send an attachment to an email, Word docs etc will attach as usual, but clicking on Pictures fails to open the selection of photos in iPhoto (which was previously fine). This seems to be true of more than one email system.

In fact ,I have always had problems with Mail so have never used it. Occasionally, something tries to to use it (another program?) and the first thing I know is that my screen gets littered with messages (usually protos) that I did not send, with an error message to say that they can't be sent. I've probably made wrong guesses in the past as to what to set in the Account Information boxes. Could you possibly guide me on this ?

I am unable to send photos from iphoto via email as an attachment to be downloaded onto another computer. i thought e-mail would automatically pick up these photos if mailed out so they could be downloaded.

At one time I was able to send photos from i photo library and I assumed the receiver could open these and download them into their apple computer (family).

I've managed to sort out my own problem!! Shall write it down in case there are others out there who have a similar problem. With iPhoto open, click on iPhoto on the top menu bar. Click on preferences. Then click on account. This let me change the details such as the user name and password. Luckily I played around with a couple of my usual passwords, and found one that worked. Have now written it down!!!!

I really do not think it is the iPad or your network connection. Other users have reported this very same issue. Try this and see if it works for you - it may not work - but it's easy to try - harmless - and it has worked in the past for others.
Try signing out of your account and restart your iPad.
Go to Settings>Store>Apple ID and tap the ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Go back to Settings>Store> Apple ID and sign in again.

Error message when sending photos as attachments in mail

When sending photos from i photo in mail I get an error message "Can't get paragraph 8 of content of outgoing message id 142504208. Invalid Index" I can send one photo at a time but no more than one. I have recently upgraded to leopard from panther. I tried rebooting but no success. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Bump. I have the same problem. Anyone shed some light on this?

Sending documents as attachments via email

Hi,
I have a selection screen with purchase order number as "select-options" and 2 radio buttons one for downloading and opening the SAP Script output to the local file and the other raido button would convert the SAP Script output into .pdf file and send that file as an attachment via e-mail to the receipent(only one).
I'm through with the first operation. Now need to know about the e-mailing procedure and the function module(s) to be used and their import, export, etc. parameters.

You can use standard SAP program <b>RSTXPDFT4</b> to convert SAPSript spools request to PDF.

How do I send photos to a group email?

Sending photos to individuals works just fine. Whenever I try to send to a group, it simply doesn't recognize the group name.

To sent to a group you must be using Apple Mail - set in the iPhoto preferences
You can send it to yourselft and then forward to the group

Photos as attachments to emails

I have read various posts about including photos with emails as attachments rather than as embedded. I have the same objective but a different problem. I write an email and then I want to attach a photo. So I click on 'Attach'. And I get a pop-up window showing the folders and files. So I click on my 'Pictures' folder and inside that there is a folder called 'iPhoto library'. So I click on that in order to choose the photo that I want to attach. But there is no list of photos nor any list of events. In fact there is no obvious way of choosing the photo I want from the iPhoto library! So, how can it be done? Thank you for any help you can provide!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
For 10.5 users: You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.

To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. If you're using Gmail you can use THIS
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto. With 10.5 you can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:

If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
Or, if you want to access the files with iPhoto not running, then create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use THIS
Other options include:
1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

IPhone 5 I want to send photos as attachments NOT as embedded images

Until recently, when I sent a photo from my phone (using the share icon) via email, it would come through as an attachment, This was great, because then I could do what I wanted with the attachment. Now, since a day or so ago, all the photos I send show up as embedded images (the image is in the body of the email).
iPhone 5
I have not updated to 6.1.4
I have not added any new apps.
I have rebooted the device.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

After some testing:
-Embeded images show up when looking at your inbox listing, no paper click icon next to title
-Image can be seen within email
-Image cannot be saved
-Happens when email is sent by any apple device from a Microsoft based server (Hotmail, Live, etc) and iCloud.
-Noticed by reading off a PC or web based inteface.
Does not happen if:
-Sent by GMAIL server
-Red by another apple device
-Can be saved.
Tried all this with help of another MAC user who has GMAIL and iCloud capabalities. iphone5 and 4 and 3
So
Anybody using GMAIL as a primairy email server won't see this and cannot be a setting as this is happening to anybody not using GMAIL and includes iCLoud users. GMAIL must handle the file differently but any servers used will present symptoms of NOT having a paper clip icon next to title to show you have an attached file .jpg. It will show a paper clip for any other file extensions though.
Again I went through all my settings on all 3 devices I own, iphone, ipad and Macbook Air and there is nothing to change!

hi can anyone help? i had my i phone 4 for 6 months now and always recieved emails before but ive tried to send some photo's by email and now it wont send or recieve emails... i think it has something to do with my pop server????? being wrong

Unable to send files as attachments in email

I have been trying to send a page document that I created and saved. I attached it as an attachment to an email and it comes back as below...I tried several times...any ideas or suggestions...the email will go as a test without an attachment but not with an attachment????

There are a couple of ways to get a smaller PDF.
First, from within Pages, choose Good or Better from the Image Quality drop-down menu when exporting to PDF.
You can also try the "Reduce File Size" filter in ColorSync in the Print dialog. Click "Copies & Pages" > ColorSync & then Reduce File Size under Filters, Then click the PDF button in the lower left of the Print dialog. I don't find that the Compress PDF choice in the PDF menu saves much, if any.

Cannot send photo as attch to email from browser

Attempting to attch pictures in the "add attch" from the browser

I have a new Dell lap top and down loaded Microsoft software. I go to compose email ,add attch, browse, pictures, picture link comes up. However, it will not allow me to click ok and go back to the send mode.
Eventually a icon comes up and states connection loss. I click on retry and cannot reconnect. This only happens with picture attch. I an able to add documents with no problem.

UNABLE TO SEND PHOTOS FROM IPHOTO VIA EMAIL

I have OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.3, and IPhoto 11. Until recently I have been able to share pictures via email directly from IPhoto. All of a sudden I get the error message "username and password not recognized." I have Verizon FIOS. I tried all of the suggestions in previous discussion and none seem to work. I tried changing the ports suggested. deleting and reentering all the pertinent data, checking and unchecking SSL The port on my email account is 110 and on IPhoto it is 587. I tried matching them but nothing seems to work. The user name and password have not changed and I know them. I have doubled check everything I can think of. I think it worked fine before IPhoto 11. It has just changed all of a sudden. I am really flabbergasted. Please help.

Since you've tried all the fixes already what's left is to set Mail as your email client in iPhoto's General preference pane and use it. If you want fancy layouts you can use the photo stationary layouts that are available in Mail:
Using Mail as your client will also give you a Sent copy.
