I'm a brand new Mac user. I want to send photos from Iphoto to my local store for printing, like I can do in Picasa. I can't find that option in Iphoto. I do not want to order them through Itunes.

I have not idea how you do it with Picasa but with iPhoto you either export the photos to a desktop folder and upload from there or burns that folder to CD - or from the upload window use the media browser in the lower left hand corner of the upload windows - media ==> photos ==> iPhoto

  • Just purchsed an .Mac account but when I try to send photos from IPhoto..

    Hi there.
I just purchased a memebership to .Mac. When I try to send photos from IPhoto they keep reverting back to my old trial .Mac name.
I've already purchased the email only account for my permanent .Mac account, and deleted the old email trial name but it keeps coming up.
What do I do to make IPhoto recognize the new email account and transfer it? Since my trial ran out, and I removed the old account in my "manage account" folder for .mac, I'm wondering why the Iphotos won't recognize the information.
    Thanks...

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
This is using Mail, right? It's really a Mail question, but have a look at an email window - create one. On the left hand side. below the Subject Line, there's a heading called Account: with a drop down menu.
All the accounts that are active will be listed in the drop-down. If the unwanted one is there, then go to Mail -> Preferences -> Accounts (You'll need your password) -> Advanced.
Select the unwanted account and unclick 'Enable this Account'
Don't delete it or it'll delete any emails associated with the account too.
I hope this is what you're asking... If not post again.

  • Cannot send photos from iPhoto

    This is driving me nuts!
I am on a MacBook Pro running Mavericks and iPhoto 9.5.1. I am using Yahoo as my primary mail. When I try to send photos using iPhoto, I get the common message "The email server didn't recognize your user / Password combination". I know for sure that the username and password are correct, and sending regular email works fine.
I've tried activating iCloud mail and trying that, but then I get a message that the outgoing mail server timed out.
I've tried all the suggestions I've been able to find in other threads to no avail, although the other threads about this subject seem to focus more on Gmail.
Anybody else using this setup and successfully sending?
    Thanks,
    Glen

Use this for your SMPTE outgoing mail server in the settings of the iCloud account:
    smtp.mail.me.com
After doing this, switch to the iPhoto as your mail preference (instead of Mail) in the general screen, and test it out.
This fixed my issues after I kept getting an error with the server when email photos from iPhoto.  Once I manually added the correct outgoing server to iPhoto for my iCloud account, it worked fine.

  • I am unable to send photos from iphoto via email as an attachment to be downloaded onto another computer.  i thought e-mail would automatically pick up these photos if mailed out so they could be downloaded.

At one time I was able to send photos from i photo library and I assumed the receiver could open these and download them into their apple computer (family).
I have tried to send photos from library or folder as attachment but I am also unable to do this.  How do I send pictures as e-mail attachments which can be opened up and downloaded to another computer?

I've managed to sort out my own problem!!  Shall write it down in case there are others out there who have a similar problem.   With iPhoto open, click on iPhoto on the top menu bar.  Click on preferences.  Then click on account.  This let me change the details such as the user name and password.  Luckily I played around with a couple of my usual passwords, and found one that worked.  Have now written it down!!!!

  • Trying to send photo from iPhoto

I'm trying to send (email) photos from iPhoto. Computer says it doesn't recognize my user name or password. I've never had a problem emailing photos.....until now. Any suggestions? I'm sure it's simple but I don't know it!

Did you select "Mail" in the Preferences>General>Default email reader?
Note that I use Outlook - you should select Mail from the pop-up menu (if that's the mail client that you use).

  • Sending photos from iPhoto to FB the word "Publish" is grayed out.  How do I get it black again?, Sending photos from iPhoto to FB the word "Publish" is grayed out.  How do I get it black again?

I have been sending pics from my iPhoto to FaceBook for a long time.  Today I tried sending them from my iPhoto and after clicking FB a window comes up with the question Do you want to publish...........(whatever the pics are about)?  Then I choose the option of "everyone" "friends of friends" and "only friends".  After choosing my option I can then click on "publish" and the pics go to my profile page on FB, or they did until today...because the word "publish" is grayed out and won't allow me to send them.  Anyone got any suggestions why this got grayed out, and how can I fix it.

Your problem is that you have been running a Referenced Library, and now you're trying to convert this to a Managed Library
A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.
Simply changing the setting in the Preferences will not do this. It just means that imports from here forward will be Managed. Those that were Referenced remain so.
Now, because you've moved the Referenced Files to the new disk, iPhoto cn't find them. So it throws the error message. This is one of the major reasons experience users recommend against Referenced Libraries.
No change you make at this point will have any effect. The Library will try and update and throw the errors.
    Options:
Let it run it's course and then fix it.
    Or
Give it up as a bad job, recover your Photos and start over from scratch.

  • Sending photos from iPhoto 11 via iCloud a/c fails

I selected three photos, it brought up the usual Apple Mail screen and it "whooshed" off indicating the photos had been sent in an email.
However, I never received the photos, and neither did the other recipient, even though iPhoto indicated they were sent.
I checked the Sent folders for my iCloud account on my Mac and online, but neither accounts show any photos or any indication of the emails being sent or received.
Seems like they vanished into thin air.
Sending photos works from any of my other email accounts in iPhoto, but today I wrote detailed descriptions of photos and now I've lost the emails somewhere in email space...
Any suggestions as to where these icloud account email/photos have gone???

You didn't have the phrase "barely legal" in the email did you?  That's one of numerous phrases that will trigger Apple's mail servers into not delivering the email.

  • Error when sending photos from iPhoto 08 (send to e-mail button)......

When I go to e-mail pictures from iPhoto 08 I get the following message (the e-mail is correctly created though), any suggestions on what to fix / look at?
Mail got an error: AppleEvent handler failed http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1734304&tstart=0
Little Know Software SignatureProfiler 1.4.10 also installed....

The specific text of the error message is very important here — I'm not sure exactly you're encountering here.
If you're able to connect to your email server and are able send email to other email addresses and if the failures are specific to one email recipient address, then please contact the intended recipient of the failing email, and confirm their address is valid.  (This is the way I'm reading your question.)
If you are unable to send any email to any other email addresses and this is specific to your email address, then try the web mail client interface (if one is available) to verify your login user and password, and check with your email ISP for assistance.  If your email password works via web mail, follow this Apple troubleshooting guide, then — if everything else fails — I'd probably then entirely remove the email account from Mail.app and re-add it per your email ISP's particular setup requirements.  (Some issue with the setup or maybe a corrupt setting in OS X or a problem at the mail ISP servers is a common problem, but this effects attempts to send to all email addresses via that account.)
An email account setup is specific to an email provider, unfortunately.   If you're using one of the more common email ISPs, then there are usually setup guides and frequently-asked questions posted online.

  • HT1338 Sending photos from iphoto

I have tried to send pictures directly from iphoto; reply comes up as "does not recognise username/password combination".any suggestions!

I found that by turning of the SSL option at the bottom of the Accounts panel did the trick.

  • UNABLE TO SEND PHOTOS FROM IPHOTO VIA EMAIL

I have OSX Mountain Lion  10.8.3, and IPhoto 11.  Until recently I have been able to share pictures via email directly from IPhoto.  All of a sudden I get the error message "username and password not recognized."  I have Verizon FIOS.  I tried all of the suggestions in previous discussion and none seem to work.  I tried changing the ports suggested. deleting and reentering all the pertinent data, checking and unchecking SSL  The port on my email account is 110 and on IPhoto it is 587.  I tried matching them but nothing seems to work.  The user name and password have not changed and I know them.   I have doubled check everything I can think of.   I think it worked fine before IPhoto 11.  It has just changed all of a sudden.  I am really flabbergasted.  Please help.

Since you've tried all the fixes already what's left is to set Mail as your email client in iPhoto's General preference pane and use it.  If you want fancy layouts you can use the photo stationary layouts that are available in Mail:
Using Mail as your client will also give you a Sent copy.

  • Trying to send photos from iphoto 11 in email.

I am trying to send some pictures from iphoto 11.  I use the share option and click on email.  It comes up using the apple mail program, but when I try and sent the email I get this message:
Your email did not go through because the server did not reply.  Check your Internet connection. If the connection is working properly, the email server may be down. Try sending your email again later.
Apple Mail works fine by itself for both incoming and outgoing messages.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    I have Mac OS X 10.7.5
    iPhoto 11 9.4.2
    Thank you.

Is there something I can "click" to move it to that forum.  To be honest, this was the first time I have done this.  I have usually just googled everything and found my answers.

Since you installed all those updates, I suggest you try these procedures to get things back to normal:
    1. Restart your computer to repair the directory if needed.
    2. Run "Repair Permissions" from Disk Utility located in your Applications>Utilties Folder.
    3. Try iPhoto again. If it doesn't work then QUIT iPhoto.
    4. Your iPhoto preferences file may be corrupted.
(MAKE SURE you QUIT iPhoto first)
You will find it in your Home directory:
    (Home/your account) >Library>Preferences>com.apple.iPhoto.plist
Remove or trash the preference (.plist file) and restart iPhoto.

  • Why is it IMPOSSIBLE to send photos from iPhoto to a USB stick??

This is really starting to annoy me.  I want to move photos from one computer to another using a USB stick.  Is that really so difficult?  Yet there is absolutely NO WAY to do this either from iPhoto or Finder.  Or if there is, then it is so totally counter-intuitive that only Apple could have come up with it.  I just wasted an hour of my life on this -- and I am NOT a happy customer.
The problem is that there are several hundred photos.  Do I have to mark and transfer every single photo separately from Finder?

You can find the photos in the finder and copy them over to the USB
