Sending photos

I am having difficulty sending photos from iphoto or even attaching them to a hotmail message. When I try to change the preference for sending the pictures, all of the options are grayed out. Any suggestions? Thanks!

The best way to send photos via hotmail is to export the photos from iPhoto first to a desktop file you create for this purpose. Then browse to that folder in hotmail.
Try this:
Your iPhoto preferences file may be corrupted.
(MAKE SURE you QUIT iPhoto first)
You will find it in your Home directory:
(Home/your account) >Library>Preferences>com.apple.iPhoto.plist
Remove or trash the preference (.plist file) and restart iPhoto.
iPhoto will open like it was the first time

Yes, to sync with iCloud on your Mac you will need to upgrade.
You can certainly upgrade to Mountain Lion but OS X Mavericks is due out within the next month so it may be worth it to wait. In the meantime you can access your iCloud contacts, calendars, etc... from iCloud.com. Sign in with your Apple ID.

Cannot send photos via email from within iPhoto

Hi, I used to use the functionality to send photos directly from iphoeto by email, using the templates provided.
It has always worked.
I have not used it since the last update to iPhoto 9.3, but it does not work anymore.
I get an error:
"Your email did not go through because the server did not reply.
Check your Internet connection. If the connection is working properly, the email server may be down. Try sending your email again later."
My mail is working fine, I can send and receive.
I did not change any email settings for a very long time.
Settings in iPhoto seem fine.
Anyone can help ?

In the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete that account and re-enter
OR
IMHO the better solution is to set Apple Mail as your e-mail client in the iPhoto preferences

Cannot send photos from iPhoto

This is driving me nuts!
I am on a MacBook Pro running Mavericks and iPhoto 9.5.1. I am using Yahoo as my primary mail. When I try to send photos using iPhoto, I get the common message "The email server didn't recognize your user / Password combination". I know for sure that the username and password are correct, and sending regular email works fine.
I've tried activating iCloud mail and trying that, but then I get a message that the outgoing mail server timed out.
I've tried all the suggestions I've been able to find in other threads to no avail, although the other threads about this subject seem to focus more on Gmail.
Anybody else using this setup and successfully sending?

Use this for your SMPTE outgoing mail server in the settings of the iCloud account:
smtp.mail.me.com
After doing this, switch to the iPhoto as your mail preference (instead of Mail) in the general screen, and test it out.
This fixed my issues after I kept getting an error with the server when email photos from iPhoto. Once I manually added the correct outgoing server to iPhoto for my iCloud account, it worked fine.

I have Acer E3 liquid E380 with 1GB ram and 4GB internal storage it's from three.co.uk unlocked and phone is rooted the problem is when i want to send photo to someone and i choose take photo it brings me to camera and after i take photo it has in the botoom cancel or ok confirmation but when i press ok it turns green but that's it i can press it all day and it doesn't move from there so i am stuck, if i press cancel it goes to skype again but if i choose "choose existing photo" it works ok but no luck with "Take Photo", did anybody had same problem?

It's only difficult if you get all emotional over tiny things and don't stop to look for answers first. I find Macs very simple to use.

As with the Mail app on a Mac, the iPhone's Mail app stores all email recipients in a list of previous recipients which is separate from the address book or contacts. The email address autofill feature when addressing an message pulls from Contacts and from the list of previous recipients.
Different from the Mail app on a Mac, there is no access to the list of previous recipients with iOS on an iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad to remove a previous recipient from the list, or to add a previous recipient to the address book or contacts that is not already entered - not at the present time anyway.
The only way to purge the list of previous recipients at the present time is by restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup, which will start being re-populated again with every sent message.

I am having a problem sending photos by way of the share facility in iPhoto. I have looked in accounts and i cloud is not listed as an option. I removed MobileMe and reloaded it and that enabled me to send the photos but then the email didn't arrive

When I first tried to email photos from the share facility of iPhoto 9.2.3 I received a message something along the lines of server didn't recognise your id and password. Read other peoples posts that suggested removing and reloading icloud in the iPhone account section. No icloud in my accounts just email and mobile me so I removed and reloaded mobile me. After that I sent a test email to myself. It arrived eventually but disappeared the instant I tried to open it. Shut down my Macbook completely and then switched it on again with exactly the same results. I am using OS X 10.7.4. Can anyone tell me how to get icloud as an option for my iPhoto emails? I use icloud for my normal emails.

I've resolved my problem now. It wasn't iphoto: preferences:@ that I needed but iphoto:preferences:general where there is the option to choose email for sending photos. Can't believe I missed that before.

If you haven’t already, you can try resolving the issue with not being able to send iMessages that contain portrait photos by restoring your iPhone to factory settings as shown in this article:

Does the message only refer to "a problem" or does it specify what it is?

Can anyone help new to this, e.mail slow I tried to send photo and in error attached the application so got bounced back now can't delete it and email changed in a real mess can't seem to delete anything or receive stuff on macbook pro

Hi any help out there, I have messed up e.mail should have had some training. I tried sending photo as attachment to e.mail but attached the whole application, of course this got thrown back, tried to delete it no luck . Now at a loss what to do mail box and mac now sooooo slow and cant seem to get rid of deleted mail??? comes up with error from imap server for gmail message to large ..has anybody else had this ?

If the message is still 'stuck' in your gmail account, you should be able to log into the web service and delete it. Don't know why it won't delete on the Mail side. Quitting Mail should delete the sent msg - don't know why it doesn't.

Error message when sending photos as attachments in mail

When sending photos from i photo in mail I get an error message "Can't get paragraph 8 of content of outgoing message id 142504208. Invalid Index" I can send one photo at a time but no more than one. I have recently upgraded to leopard from panther. I tried rebooting but no success. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Problems sending photos from iPhone to iPhoto

My iPhone stopped sending photos to my iPhoto (Photo Stream). I thought it might be because I reached the maximum 1000 photos on the stream. So, I deleted the 1000 photos. But, then the rest of the photos still would't download. How can I manually tell my photo stream that I want to stream the rest of the photos to iPhoto? I tried selecting the photos that didn't go across and selecting a new photo stream, but that didn't work. Any ideas?
