Sending Pictures in Mail

Whenever I attach photos to mail, it compresses them down to tiny sizes. How do I stop this?

Hi dp345_123: When you are composing an email with a photo, check the bottom right corner of the compose window. Form there select "Actual Size" as opposed to "Small, Medium, or Large"
Hope this helps

Since yesterday i cannot use iPhoto to send pictures with mail, it just does not open a new mesage in mail. can you help me please? have done cleaning tasks and repeired permissions already. thank you.

    Does anything happen?
Have you deleted the iPhoto Preference file - A good general step for strange issues is to renew the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and go to "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist and trash it - launch iPhoto which creates a fresh new default preference file and reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it. This may help

  • I can no longer send picture e-mails from my ipod. Why?

I use to be able to send pictures from the Photos app to my e-mail. Now when I try & send them, I never get them. I also tried sending them to the Facebook mail, but again- never get them. No error message pops up on my ipod. Any suggestions?

Oh my goodness! Thank you sooo much! This worked. I can now stop sending the business e-mails from my personal account - ha ha. Since you helped me with this, maybe you can help me with one more thing. I haven't been able to attach to e-mails in this account for quite awhile now, just been using a jump drive, since a previous automatic update. I didn't obsess over it due to the fact that I could still send e-mails. Any more help you can provide is greatly appreciated!
By the way, you also put it in terms I could understand. I'm not computer illiterate, just not as up to date as I should be. Step-by-steps help alot! :D

  • Trouble when sending pictures by mail from iPhoto

Hello. Recently, while sending pictures with the mail function of iPhoto 9, some pictures have been transformed in tiff format (in this case the name of the picture is becoming PastedGraphic-1 (or2, 3 etc...).tiff.
The size of these .tiff files being at least 3Mo (or more), in general my messages never arrived to their destination.
This problem is not recurent: sometimes it happens, sometimes not, and you become aware of the problem when you receive an error messge of your internet provider regarding the size of the mail you sent and was not distributed because his size.
So this is a little bit boring....
Who got the same kind of problem? is there is a solution?

    Thanks for your comment.
The original pictures are jpg. That's making this issue a little bit mysterious..
One more thing: last time I got the problem, I was sending 7 pictures from iPhoto: two of them were compressed in jpeg, the 5 other ones in this PastedGraphic.tiff
Total weight of the message: 21,9Mo instead of 1,8Mo. That's the difference!

  • Can't send pictures through Mail!

I can send, receive emails, but I can't send emails with pics attached. Tried resizing the pics to smaller sizes, but no affect. I have sbc global yahoo and I've put smtp.att.yahoo.com as the output server for the 3 email accounts I've tethered (gmail, aol, uci webmail). I've set the settings according to what their help sites suggested but I've found no reason why I can't send any pictures. I can send pictures by going to the sites, logging in, and sending it there, but not through Apple Mail.

I have not used entourage for a long time. You should be able to attach files: images or documents should be no problem. Why try to send images from iPhoto? Just size them, and use whatever. I am sure you can import or export your address books between the two programs, or even from an older computer! Whatever is your ctive email program, you are going to receive photo attachments when someone sends on to you.
You can put whatever application icon in the dock that you want. My Office X would not install; I bought 2004, and did the default install and entourage is in the dock. I can remove it and bring it back as I chose to. I do have most of my 3rd party apps in the dock, for my convenience.
Whatever you choose to not use, just remove from dock; when you do, you are not deleting it from computer; it's still in your applications folder.
When in the finder, try going to the help menu.

  • How do I send pictures in mail

When I write an e-mail, how do I attach pictures from iphoto? I have clicked on attachment and then clicked on pictures but I don't see where I can choose the picture/s that I want to send. Also, when ever I send mail, I get a noise ( sounds like the spell check alert) right after I click send. This seems to be new, at least I don't remember hearing it before. I know the spelling is correct within the mail so I don't know whats causing this sound, any advise? Thanks for all your help.

One other alternative is to simply drag and drop a photo from within iPhoto onto the body of the email message you are composing. I find that much easier than digging through the arcane directory tree that iPhoto creates in the Finder.
Yet another method is to open iPhoto first and drag/drop the photo onto the Mail icon in the Dock. That will create a new outgoing message with the photo attached.

  • Sending Pictures With Mail...Sending the Right Size Picture

I'm emailing pictures to an editor from iPhoto. They look fine when I send them. I send them using the actual size tab on mail. However when they get to her, she says they are only 1.5 inches by 1.5 inches even though they are 4X6 pictures when I send them. I don't get it. Anybody have any tips on what's up with this?

    Philip,
The compression could have been applied by iPhoto, but the very high resolution value (680) was probably set by your source.
Compression is the whole reason to use JPEG, and its greatest fault. To compress, the photo application uses an algorithm to analyze the photo by detail. If a photo had a large wall pictured that was all the same color, then the algorithm performs coding to say that this large area is all the same color and does not use separate pixels for each portion of the area. How small a file can result from the compression is dependent upon the variation of color and detail in the photo. The next photo app to open applies the reverse algorithm to decompress. This is also done in cameras that save their photos in JPEG on the memory card.
JPEG can be used once with fairly good results, but if a photo is changed and then compressed again to save as JPEG then it can lose quality and sharpness.
Resolution is strictly the number of pixels per square inch and how much detail can be recognized and preserved in the photo (uncompressed). When you send a JPEG version of a quality TIFF or PSD format folder (or from a RAW photo taken with a good camera), and specify actual size, what that means is that the resulting file will be as large when decompressed and contain just as many pixels as the original, but depending upon the amount of compression selected can be a much smaller file to attach and email.
I am still researching how you might select to send such photos in the future, but what you were sent may be the controlling factor.
Before getting Aperture, I primarily used ordinary folders to store my photos, and opened them with Photoshop or Graphic Converter (the latter having an excellent interface with Mail. My use of iPhoto was limited (and still is) to those situations where its very good interface with other Apple applications is needed. Thus I do not know nearly as much about iPhoto as I do about Photoshop, Aperture, and other photo applications. But I do know that iPhoto will maintain the original quality, but the issue you presented is related to presenting for an email and for exporting.
    More when I find it.

  • N8 - Can't send picture via mail from Photo apps

After setting up the default mail client on n8 (I used google mail and hotmail, they work fine), I can see the option "Send via mail" when I long-pressed any picture on Photos application. But after a while (I'm still figuring out what is the trigger), the options is gone, and the only way to make them appear is to delete the mail accounts and re-setup the accounts again.
    Has anyone experience this problem?

Have you tried doing it the other way round, ie create an email and add an attachment from the email ?

  • Sending pictures via mail app

Hi, when using mail application sometimes I have a problem with
    1) sending attached pictures (jpg, tif) which when received are not detachable. Pdf files or when zipped are ok.
    2) when attaching (mainly) pdf or picture files, some of them are as "icon" and some are in "preview" which I have to change manually to "show as icon". Is there any help because it is quite anoying.
    Thanks, Raddy
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    Raddy and Bevlo,
Whether a method of using a Signature with every recipient can be found, will likely depend on the composition of the Signature, or the placement of the Signature and attachments.
For the composition of the Signature, whether any HTML or links are included will probably be important. Since some recipients, such as some AOL users cannot handle Rich Text, then the Signature cannot be allowed to violate that, either.
For placement, it may be useful to test with the Signature, but make sure to place the cursor beneath the Signature, before attaching any files, and to furthermore take care to have no further text entry after, or between, attachments, including any use of the Return key.
Let me know if you wish me to examine any Signatures.

  • Whenever I send an e-mail with my yahoo account which is also my apple ID a small icon (personal) picture is attached to the e-mail. How do I remove this picture from being attached to all of my outgoing messages?

Everytime I send a message from my yahoo account (which is also my appleID account) a small icon picture (which is a pic of my ex-boyfriend) is attached to the e-mail heading.  I'm able to notice  I want to remove this from happening. The picture is displayed on my iphone when I open up the mail.
    Steps I take:
    1. I write an e-mail message from my yahoo account to my other .edu account on a desktop computer.
    2. I send the e-mail message from my yahoo account to my other .edu account on a desktop computer.
    3. When I open up my .edu account on my iPHONE, there is a new message from my yahoo account.
    4. Upon opening the e-mail message on my iPHONE, in the title heading it has the title of the email along with a small (upper right) picture on the iPHONE.
Another thing that I tested was the same thing on my iPAD for text messages:
    1. I set up my text messages to my yahoo account (which is also my apple ID account)
    2. I send a text message to a person and the same small icon picture is shown on the ipad with each message that is sent
    3. The person receiving the text message does not get the small icon picture; however, on the ipad it shows this picture (WHICH NEEDS TO BE REMOVED)
I need to determine how this icon picture is associated with both my yahoo and apple ID account. The funny thing is that I don't have this picture on any of my devices (mac, iphone, ipad). It has been completely removed from all of my technology sources. I'm thinking it has to be something to do with the origniation of my apple ID.
PLEASE HELP ME....this picture is hurting my professionalism when I send outgoing messages.
    Thanks.

  • Triing to send pictures threw e mail but it tells me I need a sender verification number. What is it

I am triing to send pictures threw eliments 9 and it tells me I need a sender verification number. What is it and where do I find it?

    Hey,
Just to elaborate, as you have added the email id after selecting Adobe email services. You will get an email from '[email protected]'. In this mail there will be an alphanumeric code. This is the verification code asked by Organizer. If this email is not in the inbox then check your spam folder.

  • I want to learn how to send pictures from my camera via e-mail but the CD asks me to log in as an administrator before I can download the handbook to tell me how to send pictures.

I need to know either how to connect my camera, a SONY SteadyShot DSC-W310 to my Dell laptop and then how to send pictures via my e-mail or else how to login as an administrator so I can download the handbook that came with my camera on a CD and hopefully find the answer there. I have a USB cord if that is needed and also another cord that has a split end with yellow and white ends on the split part. I am 80 years old and need simple language.

You really need to post this question on the Dell support forums @ http://en.community.dell.com/ They will have a better understanding of their own products than we will.

  • Can't send pictures in e-mails.

I am having trouble sending pictures in e-mails.  I keep getting a POP3 error.  Is this a server problem, computer setting, or a printer problem?

    Hello CottonBlossum,
More than likely it's an email system error and not an error with the printer. If you can provide me with the following information then I will be much more able to assist you.
    1. What device are you sending email from?
    2. What is the exact error message?
    3. What email provider are you using (ISP email, Gmail, Hotmail, etc.)
The exact error message will probably be the most helpful in determining what the issue is.
    Thanks,
    Brent
