You need to use PayloadSwapBean module in the Mail receiver adapter. This module will send the payload as an attchment to the mail server.

I think you can setup the type of email in Shared office Settings in transaction S016.
There is an option called <Preset document classes>
You choose this pushbutton to branch to the maintenance screen for the document classes that are directly displayed to users in the Business Workplace for selection when they use the Create function. The name under which the documents are displayed can also be maintained.

Problem to send text file to mail from ALV report

Hi Friends,
I have a problem in my ALV report with text file. As per the requirment, when we execute the program then text attachment should go to the particual email.
When i am using file type as XLS i am getting attachment with all 4 recoreds( input for 4 records) in mail. But all 4 records are coming in SAME ROW. It should come 4 records in 4 rows. when I use file type as TXT and separated by pipe symble in code, it is showing only one recored for same above input.
When i use file type as XLS and click the attachment in email, it will triggire one popul with three options like SAVE, OPEN, CANCEL.
But when i click on text file attachment, it is directly showing ony one recored.
Please correct me on this.

Hi,
declare the following constant in u r program and concatenate at the end of each and every record in your internal table.
CONSTANTS : LV_CRLF TYPE C VALUE CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>CR_LF.
for eg.
if u internal table has values like
row1
row2
row3
concatenate the 1st record lv_crlf into first record.
conactenate second record lv_crlf into second record.
concatenate third record lv_crlf into third record.
now attach the internal table to the FM which u use for sending email. Each and every row will come in new line. The LV_CRLF will hold nothing but a line feed character (#).

Sending failed idocs through Mail adapter or Alerts

I am working on File to IDoc scenario ,where we have some 35 interfaces.
My requirement is to send only failed idocs thru email to concerned users and IT Head immeditely.
Could anyone suggest or let me know how to achieve this requirement.
Can it be done thru alert config .. Pl suggest.

If it is failed in Adapter engine or in Integration engine u can raise an alert by using Transaction codes ALRTCATDEF and by configuring in RWB Alert configuration.

How to send file with original name through Mail adapter

I have to send file with original name as attachment through Mail Adapter. I am picking the file from FTP server through File Adapter. I am not using message mapping because files do not have any standard format.

I have exactly the same scenario : pik up a file (file adapter) and send it in attachment by mail adapter without mapping (no IR)...
I activated Adapter specific paramters properties in the File adapter sender and i can see the FileName tag in DynamicConfiguration section of SoapHeader in SXMB_MONI...
I want to use MessageTransformationBean... BUT, how can i 'access' to FileName tag ???...

E-Mail reporting in file to mail adapter scenario

Experts,
 I am working on a file to mail adapter in which, have to just send a mail to the recipient by putting a subject line and mail body.
am following the following example
/people/community.user/blog/2006/09/07/email-reporting
but my requirement is not to send the mail attachment. I just need to send a mail body stating the error location.
here at teh receiver side, have downloaded a mail.xsd. in this "subject line","from field" , "to" field is there but there is no "mail body" field .
Can any one please help me out. I just require to send a mail body to the recipient.

File to Mail Adapter issue

I am trying FILE-TO-MAIL ADAPTER senorio
I have file contains following data(more than one row data in file)
emailaddress,subject, content
I used receiver Data type

If text file is only one record it is sending mails as mail defininition is 1..1 in ximail30_xsd
I changed the mail definition in ximail30_xsd to 0...unbounnd and recreate the external definition andcreated interface based on external definition.
I am getting validation error.
please advice me.

Maybe you can consider using MultiMapping to send the multiple Mails out of XI.

Error while sending PO output through mail in PDF format - Urgent

Developed program to send sapscript output through mail in pdf format, the program running properly, even function module SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 returning sy-subrc 0. But the external mail is not going to user lying in SAP outbox with message "Wait for communications service" . SCOT is properly configured, tested mails sending through SAP office.

A cyclic job runs, which processes the messages seen in the SOST queue.
Are you sure it's not the frequency of the cyclic job, rather than the
number of messages in the queue, that you are observing? In messages
that are queued and before the cyclic job runs, "wait for comm. service"
is the normal status.
If you mean that there are always 4 items queued in SOST regardless of
the cyclic send job, then I have no ideas. I would have thought there
was no way to do that.
when the send job runs it just never
picks them up & sends them, while it picks up many others. The send job
is somehow blind to these; no error message occurs. In this case, I
'delete' them from the queue (in SOST) and then 'undelete' (drop down
menu -> /Go to /Deleted Items) them and then re-queue them. THEN they
actually get picked up & sent when the next cyclic send job executes.

Hi All,
i have a file to mail adapter scenario.
here i get the data from tthe different vendors and what ever comes in should be validated and if needed sent as an attachment or detached from the message and then from receiver mail adpter to application server..if possible content conversion has to be done.
my questions are...
1.whare should we validate the data..is it in the XI server or receiver mail adapter..
if so..how to do that validation
2.how can we send as attachments ..
3.how can we detach them..i.e if attachments are not required 4.if content conversion conversion has to be done where is that done..
4.after coming out of the receiver adapter....how can we send it to the appliocation server.

I guess you are getting files using the file adapter.

Not sure I follow this part. You validate your incoming file and what do you do
1. If the file is valid?
2. If the file is invalid?
are you sending mails in both cases.
Like pinted out there are multiple places where validations can be done,

Sockets: can only send once file through

I am using sockets to send text and files to a client on a Clio. I want to send multiple files through. However, only the first file goes through. The rest are never received (although they are uploaded). My question is:
Why can not send anything through the socket (text or files) after the first file is sent?
The fileSend() is on the server side, fileReceive is on the client side.

I think its better to pass the outputstream to the filesend() method and inputstream to fileReceive() method
something like this:
