Sending text message on phone line
Hello,
I need to send a text message (sms) from a PC using a fixed phone line. I canot use cellphones and I don'e have access to internet.
I understand that I n eed a modem: anybody has good suggestions? Do any phone line work or do I have to know whoch kind of protocol my phone line supports?

Using the Pager control, you can send numeric and alphanumeric.
Alphanumeric uses the TAP/IXO protocol and requires the carrier to support it (verizon, sprint, att, etc.).

After I upgraded my Iphone 4 with the ios 7.1.1 it locks up while sending text messages. I can usually send a few then will have to restart my phone(often more than once) to get it to send and receive messages again. I have done a back up and complete reset and that has not fixed the problem. Have been told that the ios 7.1.1 just isn't compatible with the Iphone 4 so that's why it is locking up so often, but I am hoping someone else may have a better answer since it can't be undone. Thanks!
7.1.1 is certainly compatible with the iPhone 4. Just try a reset first.
Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss) -
Why do text messages from my iPad appear to some people as if they came from my email address instead of my phone number? This does not happen when I send text messages from my iPhone.
You need to link your iPhone number to Messages - and Facetime if you use it. For Messages go to Settings>Messages>Send and Receive at>You can be reached by iMessage at. If your phone number is showing there, select it as your Contact address. If it doesn't appear in there, take a look at the end of this article for help.

We also tried to deactivate and activate iMessage in "Settings", but still it will only send text messages.. We have tried within wifi-areas as well.

No, you can't. Your friend would have to do that. The fact that she has turned iMessage off should do this. -
Why does the top button always brake why as my screen decided to pop off why is the back of my case bending when I have never dropped it why dose this shity phone keep sending text messages as picture messages this is the worst phone av ever had!!
I know a lot of people with iphone 5 and have never heard them complain about top button always brake and screen that decides to pop off or the back of their case is bending.

<Personal Information Edited By Host>I had the same problem. Kept getting message of waiting for activation or check network connections. I also tried every solution out there and nothing worked. This did though: I download the newest version of itunes (through Internet Explorer - Google Chrome wouldn't work). It pulled in my entire library thank goodness and then I plugged my iphone 4s into the computer. I let itunes find it, did a complete backup in icloud, then did a restore. Entire process took a couple of hours, but I now have imessage and facetime back. I was about ready to give up on Apple and go get a different phone ~

Why won't my phone send text messages but I can receive them?
I have the iphone 5 and I updated my phone to the ios7. Within the past few days I have not been able to send text messages as imessages but I can receive them. When I try to send a message it will freeze at 95% and it wont go through. I even have 5 bars and I am connected to wifi when I send them. I reset my network settings but there was no change. Is there a way to fix this? A few of my friends have also expereinced this problem.
From my original reply, "Why did you change your SIM card?" Did you change carriers, was there a problem with the original SIM, did you change plans?
The iPhone has no settings for SMS. SMS is a carrier feature, call them back and have them check the provisioning on your account. If this SIM change caused the problem, it has nothing to do with the phone. -
I can not send text messages to non apple phones from my ipad
every since updated my iPad to latest software I can not send text messages to people with non Apple phones. When I type their name in it turns red. How do I fix it?

i can't make a call but i can received calls and send text messages its say you cannot make a call check the phone settings!
It is not a cell phone.

TS2755 I cannot send text messages form my 4S iphone to other cell phones.
I cannot send text messages to other cell phones. Only iPhones accept the messages.
check to see if you have SMS turned on in the message settings.
IF that doesn't help contact your phone carrier as they handle messaging and see if they can help resolve the issue. -
I need help my iMessage does not have a check mark by my phone number so it will not allow me to send text messages to anyone. I can receive but not send. Please help ASAP!!!

ARe you provisioned by your cell provider to use MMS?
Last option is to contact your cell provider as MMS is a carrier feature. -

I send Text Messages as Chats (sent to multiple recipients which I can then later send subsequent messages to) because as far as I know there isn't a way to setup a Distribution Group with the Z10.
When I select Compose, and then select a Contact, it is selecting some Home phone numbers instead of their Mobile. WHY?
