Supose I want to change phone or address and I want to send a single mail to all contacts in address book
Is that possible ?

Select them all, drag to the BCC line in a new e-mail. Don't put them on the To or CC line or some, at least, of your contacts will be peeved to see their address being sent out to a bunch of people they don't know. (I'm sure that not everyone in your address book knows everyone else.)
Also, be aware that most e-mail servers have limits on the number of recipients per message, per hour, per day and/or per week, as a means for preventing spam.

I see similar questions with no answers! I do large group mailings, 100 in each group. I didn’t realize that Mail only sends to one address for each contact, but some of my contacts are husbands and wives with two addresses. Any way to get Mail to send to all addresses of each contact?

This is useful for any group involving kids or families.
I know. That's one of the possibilities I was considering, and the right way to solve that problem would be to have a card for each member of the family, i.e. if each member of the family has his/her own email, he/she should have his/her own card as well.
The problem arises when you want to trick Address Book into doing something it's not been designed to do, namely to treat each address within the same card as an independent entity. They aren't, and the only way to promote them into that condition is by giving them their own card, which is what Allan's workaround does. I still don't consider that a solution, as having multiple copies of each contact wouldn't be acceptable to me, but if it's acceptable to the OP, it works.

Caution: Mail group send shows all contacts!!!

Beware: Behaviour change in the current version of Mail (OSX 10.9.2)
Mail exposes smart group recipients to ALL other recipients. This has proved very embarrassing and rather unacceptable that this behaviour has changed.
This in my opinion is one of the worst software errors APPLE has made in my 20 years usage as it has trashed the privacy of my group.

I can't replicate what you are seeing.
I start a new email, start to type the first letters of the group name (on the To: line) and the field populates with the group name only, no addressees are shown. (To, CC and BCC behave identically here). See below
I get identical behaviour if I open Contacts, ctl-click on the group name and select 'Send Email' from the menu.
In Mail>Preferences>Composing: how is this set?
This behaviour predates 10.9 by some time, (at least for me)

Iphone Can't copy all contacts

Iphone 6 doesn't copy all the contacts from mac application Contacts 9.0 on mac using icloud sync even when I tried sending individual contacts using airdrop it shows a blank screen on Iphone 6 after receiving the file? I used Android phone to send export all contacts into one .VCF file and them imported into MAC Contatcts 9.0 " app which was then sync using "Icloud"

Why not import the exported .VCF file directly to your iCloud, then enable Contacts in iCloud on your iPhone? It's very simple.
Step 1. Open iCloud with a web browser on your computer and log in.
Step 2. Click Contacts. In the left side, there is a little settings button. Click it and choose import .vcf. Just import the .vcf file you have saved on your computer;
Step 3. On your iPhone, tap Settings > iCloud > login with your Apple ID > swipe Contacts to ON. (during the process, making sure your iPhone accessed network is stable)

How do I send SMS only at ALL TIMES with an iPhone to ALL contacts? iOS 8 now forces all Apple users to use iMessage all the time with all other iOS users. The option to send as SMS only is subordinate to iMessage in iOS 8 settings and CANNOT be turned off to send only SMS texts to another iOS device! This is a serious privacy issue for all households using iOS and doing family sharing, including over a number of iOS devices, under one member's Apple ID. Why should business conversations or financial conversations between parents be readable on an iPad in the hands of a teenager or a seven year old? The answer is not as simple as "Just don't enable iMessage on your other devices," because amy family that shares the Apple ID password is vulnerable to teenagers particularly hacking into iMessage to monitor, for example, what their parents are saying. If I were Samsung or Google I would hammer this issue immediately and continually until it is fixed by Apple (and I'm not sure why they haven't yet). iMessage is a convenience but it has this serious limitation given the architecture of the Apple universe. Apple simply cannot force all its users to conduct text messaging in arbitrarily limited way, any more than it was able to force all its users to switch from Google Maps. When will Apple fix this?

The SMS-only choice used to be on the same menu level as iMessage, but now it is locked WITHIN iMessage, and is not available as a choice unless iMessage is activated. Then it is limited solely to being used if iMessage is not available.

Turning off iMessage does not prevent you from sending messages to other Apple users. You can send an SMS to any iPhone without your own iMessage turned on, even if it is turned on on their iPhone.
The SMS-only option is: Turn off iMessage. Literally. That's it.

I am wondering if there is a way to make a group in contacts so I can send a text and have it go to all of the people in that group at once. Help please.

I don't think so. Search for an app in App Store or create a message with all contacts you want and use this to send message to this group of people.

The only way I know of is
1) create a group - "everybody"
2) click on "All Contacts" and select all then Edit -> Copy
3) select the group "everybody" and Edit -> Paste
4) Address Book -> File -> Send Updates and check "everybody"

Seriously Can i send a text out to everyone in my contacts? Just got a new number and have like 400 contacts and i want to send out a mass text to give everyone my new number.
I am not stupid i know how to create a group and add members to it but does anyone really want to sit there and add 400 members to a group? Its killing me.
How could this thing that is basically a computer not just be able to compose a text message and just have a menu option to add all contacts. Does blackberry need a new design team. Or am i just missing the joke.
It should be easy and it should be possible. Or do they really want to make me add each contact one by one? Lame if so.

can anyone help me, is it possible to send all contacts via BT to car navigation? Pairing OK, receiving calls or calling OK, but I don´t want to send each contact separately, would last tooooo long :-)
It´s a N6300 and Renault Laguna III Carminat car navigation, it his should help.
If not, is this function available by another Nokia phone? I could eventually change the mobile - not the car... :-)

SOLVED! Copy the contacts via NPCSuite to your Memory Card. Then Select All contacts (in the Memory Card) and now it will be possible to send them all via Bluetooth to the device!
Nokia should repair the missing option to send all selected contacts to other devices via Bluetooth...

I've just purchased an ipad2 and have synced it with outlook to get all contacts. I've also set up my earthlink mail account and it sends/receives fine. IS there a way to sync it so I get all of the legacy emails sitting in the OUtlook inbox?

The sync doesn't pull over legacy emails from Outlook and my Outlook has been set up to remove them from the webmail server therefore they aren't available from webmail anymore. I'd love to get some sort of "printout" (a list or

There is, go to browser and cntrl click on any one of the columns,
and select - show/source. A new column named "source" will pop up and will show where everything "lives". Click on the header at the top and it will justify the column as well. You'll notice this won't show anything for your seq.'s. of course, but will show stills/audio/motion files...
Once you have the new column, you can drag it next to the "name" column and get a grab of it and print it if you like, or whatever.
If you want to do this for just 1 seq., then can create a new bin and double click it to open it. Cntrl-A (select all) in your main seq. and just drag all into the new bin. You will see only what's in that seq. with the "source" column right next to it.
From what I've read, you seem to get the MM thing and it's obviously what you'll need to do to archive as the guys said. But what your missing is a file path system to where everything resides.

How can I create a list of all contacts in my 'sent folder'

Hi,
One of my email accounts has been hacked. So I need to contact everybody I ever sent an email again to warn them about fake emails sent from potential impersonators. First, I want to gather all their email addresses, maybe creating a distribution list and send a generic email. But they are a lot, so copying and pasting is not an option. On the other hand, the 'previous recipients' list contain all contacts from all email accounts I have.
Second, I do not want anybody to see the email address from others as they belong to different organizations. Can anybody help me out?

Apparently not. So I installed MIcrosoft Outlook for Mac and imported all the stuff. It was worth the hour or so I spent on it and I have a distribution list.

When I open Contacts file in Applications a dialog box states "All Contacts (no cards)"

Therefore I am unabled to view the full contacts listing.

I was not aware of the existance of Previous Recipients.
However I have only added my contacts via the Contacts v Card.
I have selected all contacts and clicked "Add to Contacts" All now restored to original location.

So, this is a problem because when Siri attempts to send iMessages to those without iPhones it, of course, fails.
For example, if I say to Siri, "Tell my mother 'Hello.'" It will try to send an iMessage. My mother has an Android phone, so the iMessage just gets lost in cyberspace.
I use Siri quite often, this problem only occured about two hours ago.
Can anyone help me with this?

I had major issues with the iPhone 4s battery, however it’s resolved.
The tech who set the phone up at the Apple store did so with little training.
if you have a mobile me account. First go and move all your data to the cloud by going on your computer and logging in at me.com/move. The cloud has replaced mobile me, so there is no need for those two accounts
Also make sure that for any of your email accounts you set them up to fetch, not push. My tech person set them all to have the email servers push data to the phone. The new iphone4s antenna is extremely strong so it will continually try to access stuff that is pushed–***** a lot of battery life doing this. It makes it worse if you have exchange 2010 accounts. Something about changes made to exchange really suck battery life from devices that access such accounts.

Can you set up a smart group to send to all email addresses for each card?

So several of my contacts have more than one email address. I'd like to set up smart groups that send to all of the email addresses for each contact. Is there any way to do this? I've seen some topics that mention applescripts, but that required a bunch of prompts. I want to have smart groups that automatically include every email address. Any thoughts?

A distribution list in Address book will only allow you to choose one email address per contact. There is no way to change that.
As you discovered, you can write an applescript that will send to all addresses in the contact. I'm not sure where you got the idea that it needed lots of prompts. There might have been prompts in the ones you saw because the user wanted to choose.

How can I import all contacts to iPad1 from iMac?

My iPad [1] IOS 5 has a number of duplicate addresses, but does NOT include *all* my Contacts from my Mac.
My Mac is OSX 10.7. I have selected iCloud as my storage, not 'my computer'
I have tried deleting the iPad Contacts [iCloud>slider 'off'] but when I return the slider to 'on' the Contacts are repopulated, but with all the same duplicates and omissions as before.
I have allowed a time delay; tried restarting the computer; nothing makes any difference.
Please help - I am reduced to sending myself emails containing the missing addresses!
In additon to the above... Pt2: the duplicates in iPad Contacts have more - eg repeating the Home address - or sometimes less, information.
and if I add a name to a Group, there is immediately a duplicate entry created in the main address list [I could have >8 duplicated entries for one name if added to several group mailings] Deleting duplicates is pointless, as they reappear.

If you have all the contacts you want on your iMac, turn iCloud contacts off on you iMac. Choose to keep the contacts local. You might backup or archive a copy of your contacts.
Once the iMac is isolated from iCloud, go to the iCloud.com website and select and delete all contacts. You can do this on the iPad also (it may be easier). Once the contacts are cleared from both the website and iPad, you can turn on iCloud contacts on the iMac. It should populate the website and the iPad.
