Sending Video Footage In QT Pro 7

Sorry in advance if this has been addressed before. My question is, how can I send video footage that I have shot with my DV cam to family and friends' email addresses without the file being so huge or without losing much quality? Please be gentle as I am fairly new to the world of Mac.
iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.5)   1.2 GHz PowerPC/768 MB DDR SDRAM

Unless it's a fairly short clip, it's going to be difficult to compress a video down to where it can be sent through most ISPs and still have decent quality. Even only 30 seconds at a decent size will run over 3 megabytes. So unless your're dealing with short clips, it will probably be better if you can post your videos on a web site somewhere and let your friends and family download them from the web site.

  • Import AVCHD video footage into Premier Pro CS6 - MAC - AUDIO MISSING!

    Hi,
Ive been attempting to import AVCHD video footage captured on a Panasonic into Premier Pro CS6 on my MacPro. I've tried this from the camera and after copying the entire folder to my desktop. The footage is there, but has no audio! I have read loads, forums, advice, YouTube vids and Adobe manuals, trouble shooting and help, but found no simple answer to this simple issue.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks too Jeff. Sandeep's post is a simple redirect to a post on Adobe which naturally I've already read before turning to the forum. The link then sends you to another link! Info. is too light on specifics, doesn't help! I have 6.0.5 as downloaded from Adobe... no joy! All remains the same, picture but still no audio! Maybe a compatibility issue with Panasonic's HC X900... but Panasonic's website is as light on info. as Adobe. I'm off to the shop to buy FCP or Avid.

  • Specific Video Footage in Premiere Pro CS5 completely black.

I've been working on a music video project in Premiere Pro CS5 for the past few months and everything has worked really well until just a few days ago, when a certain chunk of my high speed footage randomly turned black. I have it in its own bin so it's separated from my other video source files. If I try to preview these videos, all it shows is black footage (though the timelengths for each one are still correct). I checked and made sure the actual .avi files on my hard drive still worked, and they played through perfectly. I tried re-importing these videos into my project file and that didn't do anything. I made sure they were connected to the right files in the right folder on my computer, and they were. The rest of my video footage works just fine, so I'm confused why this certain bunch randomly turned completely black.
I backed up the entire project to an external hard drive and loaded it on a different computer with Premiere Pro CS6 on it, and everything works perfectly again. Does anybody have any idea how I can get my footage to return from the black abyss it's fallen into on my personal computer running CS5?

AVI is a wrapper... what is inside your wrapper?

  • Issue with video footage in Flash Pro 8

Hi everyone! I'm in the process of making a video reel flash
animation and I'm experiencing a problem. The animation itself
loops continuously and seamlessly, but the videos inside the
animation do not. Each video is about 17 seconds long, so once the
animation reaches the 17 second mark, the videos stop playing. Only
the first frame from each video shows up while the rest of the
    animation keeps going!
ANY thoughts or suggestions on how to get the videos
themselves to loop would be very much appreciated.
By the way, I turned the videos into a movie clip symbol in
order to get the infinite scrolling effect (refer to
    http://www.kirupa.com/developer/mx/infinite.htm).
Maybe this can't be done successfully with actual video footage?
    Thanks!
    Nicole

Get it out of the movieclip - start over its easier...
Give the component an instance name like vid and use this
code on the frame it sits on:
    var vidList : Object = new Object();
    vidList.complete = function() {
    vid.play();
    vid.addEventListener ("complete",vidList);

  • Is it possible to straighten horizon on video footage in Premiere Pro

    Thanks in advance

You can adjust the rotation of a picture using the fixed motion effects, one rotated you will have to change the scale to lose the black borders to the picture.

  • Exporting a JPEG in 4:3 from video footage in Final Cut pro is impossible

I'm trying to export a screen grab from final cut pro as a jpg. It's easy to export a jpg image, but as far as I can tell, it is completely impossible to export it as a 4:3 aspect ratio image. My video footage is all 4:3 but all of the jpg images I try to export come out squished into 16:9. This is driving me crazy!
    Here is what I'm doing . . .
Export >Using Quicktime Conversion >Format (Still Image)
From their I've tried every setting you can imagine and FCP still obstinately refused to allow me to export a jpg image in it's true proportions.
    Please prove me wrong.

Awesome! You rock moblie! Thanks a lot for the info. I was wondering why the image proportions were correct in photoshop (ie. 720x480, I thought those were 4:3 dimensions, but I guess it's just resolution?). I adjusted the image in photoshop to be 720x534 pixels and it looks fine now.
I realize this isn't the smartest question in the world, but why isn't 720x480 a 4:3 aspect ratio? I don't really understand aspect ratio all that well (as you can tell).
    Thanks again!

  • Final Cut Pro 7 stretches video footage

This question is for Final Cut Pro 7 and, as I was informed, has been posted in the wrong place. However I am unable to move the thread. I apologize for any confusion.
I have video footage that is 853x480, which is a slightly odd dimension. When I import this footage into FCP7, it stretches it to be 1011x480. Why is it doing this, and can I prevent it? The video footage is .mp4 file type.

FFCP7 questions should be posted on the Final Cut Studio forum.

  • Problem exporting Go Pro video, footage zoomed in

    Hey ya'll.
I've done a lot of searching over the net to look at how to fix this problem and I've had no luck. I've made a montage video using a Go Pro Hero and when I go to export it the image is cropped/zoomed in. It looks perfect in the preview window though. I'm pretty inexperienced with Premiere; all I really know is that the sequence is in widescreen. I would really appreciate some help, if you need to know more project details just ask me/tell me how to find them out and I can do that.
    Thanks!
    -Matt

Once you've created a sequence you can't change the settings.
The simplest way to make a sequence that matches a source clip is to drag the clip to the New Item icon at the bottom of the project window - it'll make a new sequence that matches the clip, and automatically add it, though you can of course remove the clip again to leave you with an empty sequence.

The preview window is fit to size, so it sounds like shooternz is right. I've been searching the net though and I'm struggling to figure out how to match my sequence dimension settings with the source footage dimension settings. If these don't match and I've already created the sequence, is it to late to fix things or do I have to start over? If it is too late, would somebody please explain how to set up a sequence with with matching sequence/source footage dimension settings? How do I figure out my source settings?
I really appreciate your guys help, thank you!

  • HD footage in Quicktime Pro 7.5 plays audio but no video / PC

    Hello,
I'm trying to play HD footage in QT Pro 7.5 on my PC Notebook. I have the latest version for QT as well as the latest updates from MS.
Can anyone shed some light (no pun intended) as to why I'm not getting video? Am I missing a specific codec for Windows QT version or won't HD footage play in QT Pro 7.5 for Windows?
Any help would be grately apprecited.
    Thanks very much.

    QuickTimeKirk,
Thanks for replying. I checked out the Movie Inspector and here's the info:

Given this infomation what does this tell you? I don't see anything listing a
    certain codec/plugin/software missing.
    Additionally, this prompt comes up:

  • Editing video footage on Adobe Premier CC Pro

I hope someone can help me out here. I just purchased Adobe Premier CC Pro so that I can create 5 minute video updates on my music clients.  Kind of like a newscast.  I am new to all of this and have very little experience with video editing.  My plan is to talk for 5 minutes about all of my clients giving updates on their careers, and I want to be able to edit in images and video footage while I am talking.  So, my question is...would it be better for me to record the entire 5 minutes all at once...or record individual segments about each artist so that I can then edit in the images and videos?  I watched a tutorial and the man putting together his documentary had separate video clips, not one full length video clip. Does this make sense?  Any help will be greatly appreciated!

My opinion: it matters little whether you break the clip into different "takes" while shooting/recording. I would just let the device run and focus on saying the lines clearly, with a steady pace, and allowing 1-2 second "handles" before and after any phrase that might end up adjacent to a cut. You can tighten up the timing later, but it is not possible to make a pause in a VO for a cutaway where the talent (you) doesn't provide one. The reason why I think "handles" are more important than breaking the clips is that you can cut anywhere, but you need the handles in order to fade your audio in and out discreetly. Also, it is a good idea to record at least 10 seconds of silence on the same setup you use for your voice. I.E. - as you edit the audio for your piece, you want to be able to move your clips around on the timeline, you want to be able to put fades on the head and tail, and unless your music pad is really loud, you will want to splice the "quiet" (AKA "room tone") clips between your speaking parts. This makes the finished product sound more natural because the viewer/listener isn't distracted by the truly empty quiet spaces between your VO clips. Does this make sense?

  • Dark Video Footage

    Hiya,
*hope someone can help me... I have uploaded some video footage into final Cut Pro, and the last part of it is dark due to bad lighting, can anyone help me with what to do to lighten this piece of footage without losing quality, and keep the natural look of footage as much as possible
    Thanks San*

Color Corrector 3-way works great. Try increasing the Mids a bit.
BTW, the word "upload" refers to sending a file to a server on a network.
For example, "I uploaded some files to YouTube."
What you did is more correctly described as "import", if it's an existing file,
or "capture" or "ingest" if it's from a camera.
    Cheers,
    Les

  • HT201335 I want to watch an iTunes rental video on my MacBook Pro but stream the sound to my Airport Express linked speakers.  However re Airplay icon doesn't show up in iTunes when playing the rental video.  Is there a way around that?

I want to watch an iTunes rental video on my MacBook Pro but AirPlay the audio to my AirPort Express linked speakers.  However the AirPlay icon isn't available when arching the rental video in iTunes.   Is there another way?  Do I need to but an AppleTV?  I don't own a TV, hence why I want to watch on my MacBook Pro.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
With or without an Apple TV you can't send video to one device and audio to another using AirPlay.
