  • How do you set up your iPhone to send video signal to a TV.  Is it done automatically?

Is the phone automatically set to send video through a docking station into the receiver and into the TV?

You need an Apple TV to do this.  If you have one, play a video on your iPhone.  Next to the three control buttons will be an icon that looks like a rectangle with a solid triangle in front of it (kind of like an upside-down envelope).  Press it.  The video will play on your TV.  You can do this with videos and many games, as well as your music.  For games and music:
Press the home button twice to get the app tray to appear
Swipe the tray all the way to the left to where you see the music icon and controls.
Besides the play controls and music icon there will be another icon that looks kind of like an upside-down envelope.  Press it.  The video will start playing over the Apple TV.
    Good luck!

How can I get my 2010 macbook pro to send signal out through the mini display port?

First, what you said is contradictory. You say "can't get a video signal", then say"the Mac wallpaper is broadcast, the mouse pointer is visible". "No video signal" means an absolutely black, blank screen. It sounds like you have plenty of signal.
I am supposing what you are seeing is actually a blank desktop, which is to be expected if your settings are such that you are extending the desktop, instead of mirroring it.
Within the preference panes is a setting that allows you to change this. Open System Preferences, click Displays, and then click Arrangement. You will see that you are extending the desktop. Change that setting.

How do I "send a video signal out to my tv" on an iPhone?

I tried exactly this but it didn't work.  I was able to get to the TV out and set it but no video came out.  I have an iPhone 4 with IOS 6 and bought the cables from Apple.  Any other ideas?  I can plug a vcr or dvd into the same video inputs on the tv and that works fine.

  • Airplay video signal drops

We have 7 Apple TV's throughout our company and all of them exhibit the same behaviour, on many different laptops.
All laptops are running minimum of OS 10.9.2.
We have a Cisco Clean Air WiFi network with excellent signal coverage in all areas surrounding each of the AirPlay devices.
    Here's exactly what happens:
User will enter conference room with Apple TV connected to an LED Flat Panel TV.  Power it up, then select the appropriate Airplay device from their Airplay menu and begin streaming mirroring their desktop to the television set.  Within 2 minutes, the signal drops, forcing the user to re-select the airplay device once again.  Usually it will drop again within 2 minutes.
If the user reboots the Apple TV, the issue will go away for the rest of the session.  Perhaps something about the Apple TV's keeping a sustained connection to our WiFi network.
We've been working with Cisco to pour over our WiFi network but they cannot find anything from the WiFi gear that is contributing to the signal loss.
Anyone have any ideas here?  I'd like to try an Apple TV alternative to see if a different device would have the same issue but the options seem extremely limited.
    Thank you.

I have two laptops each with their video out adapter connected and then cabled to a switch box where the big monitors project the signal of the laptop that the swtich box is set to. Like channel selection. Previous versions of Keynote were never a problem and I mean never. The signal came right through but now with Keynote 4 the signal drops out even tho the laptop is still active and apparently sending a signal through its video out connection. I have to hit escape and get out of keynote and then go back to PLAY for keynote to once again send that signal.

  • Apple TV is not sending a signal to the tv, how do i fix this?

There is no signal coming from the Apple TV, according to the two television sets that I have connected it to.  I have tried using different HDMI cords as well.  I have also tried to plug it in to different HDMI ports on the the television sets.  I have also reset the Apple TV box.  Was there a recent update to the software? I have had the Apple TV for three months now and it was working until today, 9/14/13. How can I get the Apple TV to send a signal to the tv?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
(You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)

  • Keynote video signal drops out

Keynote 4 video signal drops out during presentations where we are switching between two different Apple Computers (one G4 and one Intel). Both machines had previous versions of Keynote on them and over a period of time never had a signal drop out condition. Sounds like new version problem.
    Any input appreciated.

    Couple of more ideas...
Have you done a PRAM reset, CMD+Option+p+r...
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
In fact, do 3 in a row, takes a bit of time.
Might be time to replace the PRAM Battery, 4 years is close to their lifespan, far less if ever without AC power, & can cause strange startup problems...
See which one your G5 has...

  • Continous streaming of video signal on to PDA using TCP/IP?

    Hardware :IMAQ PCI 1411

can i have continous video image on my PDA , image Acquired by the host PC  using 802.11g wrelessTCP/IP protocol.( that is continous video streaming on to my PDA device.) I am developing an application to transfer video signals to my pda.I would define my application
I am developing robot having camera on it. my idea is to tranmit video image acquired by camera on host ( i.e robot ) to my PDA using wifi TCP/IP Protocol. i am able to control robot motion from pda using Daq pci-6229 on host.
    Thanks in advance.
    murari.

I think the only way this would be possible in LV was if you convert the images to the LV picture format, flatten that to a string, send the string over and unflatten it and write it to a picture indicator.
    There are several potential problems:
    1. 7.0 was the first version of the PDA module. I don't remember how much support it has for the picture control, although I believe it should have enough. The newest version is 8.0, which was just released.
    2. Depending on the size of the picture, this can be a lot of data. Since you have a g connection, that should be less of a problem, but it still may be an issue, depending on your frame rate. I once wrote a VI which recognized which parts of an image were changed and used a special (very primitive) protocol to send the data to the PDA (I was thinking of a cellular connection and wanted to minimize the amount of data), but I did that for the LV interface, which was mostly static, and I only detected that when it changed.
    3. PDAs have significantly less processor power than a PC. Depending on your frame rate, this may be hard for the PDA.
    4. The PDA module only supports 8 bit color, and that will require you to do additional computation to make the picture look normal. 8 introduced 16 bit support.
The upside is that writing the code for converting, sending, receiving and displaying the data is very very simple (assuming you can get it into the picture control format, not IMAQ, which isn't supported as far as I know). Just have a loop run on the computer side which will "acquire" the frame, flatten and send it, and another on the PDA side which will receive, unflatten and display. I think on the PDA side you will have to update the picture pixel by pixel.
Try to take over the world!

  • Unsupported Video Signal Help

I'm trying to set up and old Nintendo to my TV. It doesn't have regular AV cable ports, but it has composite cable ports. There is no input as 'AV', but it gas this thing called 'ColorStream HD'. I've tried to set it up through that, but the screen says 'Unsupported Video Signal'. I've tried to set it up with my Wii with the AV cables and it worked, but its like a black and white screen with little to no sound. So the video for the Wii works, but not my NES. Is there something that I'm doing wrong, or is my old console too old to be supported by new TV?

It won't work. ColorStream HD is expecting a HD signal of at least 480p and you're trying to send an SD signal from a composite output. You will have to try to find some type of adapter instead, perhaps like this:

  • Trouble sending video message

I have the HTC Rezound. So far I hate it. I was talked into it by the employees at Verizon. I wanted the iPhone. They assured me this was a better phone which was compatible with my MAC. My MAC doesn't even recognize my phone when I plug it in to it.
Anyway, I am told by HTC that I cannot sent videos unless I use the lowest resolution (which you can't even see because the quality is so poor). I have tried downloading all kinds of applications to help send video messages and still cannot do this. I had no problem with my old non-smart phones. You would think that a more expensive "smart" phone I could do something so simple. I wish I had got the iPhone.

kdinger - demmo86rt is correct. What you want to do is set the camera/camcorder resolution to MMS. You can choose 320 x 240, but your video can be no longer than 3 seconds. In this case, MMS resolution is the way to go. The reason it looked better on your older phone is due to the screen resolution of those older devices. They were closer to that resolution, than what you are using now. The Rezound's display outputs at a resolution of 720 x 1280. (720p) It's pretty much the same as viewing a non HD channel on your HD television. That same channel looked better on your old set versus your new set. The HD video you take on your phone will of course shine on your phone and on your HD tv. Your video message can be about a minute long. You can send a video message with a video size of 1200KB or a bit over 1MB.
With regards to Mac connectivity you should be able to connect it, as I have been able to mount my Rezound my iMac. Are you plugging it in with the original USB cable, and then lowering the notification bar and selecting mass storage mode from your USB menu?
