Sending weird links. virus?
A friend told me my email is sending weird links. do i have a virus on my mac?
Are these "weird links" parts of emails a tally sent by you or is your friend getting emails from an address that "appears" to be yours? It sounds more like email spoofing to me.

In the past, when I sent a web link on Firefox, my gmail address book would pop up. Thunderbird had an update today, but I'm thinking it may have been a virus. Now, when I try to send a link out of Firefox Mozilla, Thunderbird launches and I don't want that to be my default.

If you are running Lion or Mountain Lion, the drivers are downloaded from within Bootcamp Assistant. If you are running Snow Leopard the drivers are on your Snow Leopard install disk.

Sending a Link: I use the Firefox drop down menu under "File" > "Send link". In the past, a new tab would open, with a gMail email with the link in the message field. Then I would add the email addressee and click send.
A problem unrelated to the above is:
Secondly, I sign in to Google Calendar, the mail icon, bounces up and down. When I try to sign in, I get the message that sign in failed. Calendar is visible on my iGoogle Page, and I don't have to sign-in.

My Ipad2 works fine except when I try to email myself a link to a safari webpage. I get an error message saying that the message failed to connect to the server. It says that a copy of the message has been left in the outbox. I cannot get the message from the outbox. All other email and safari functions work as expected.
I have cleared data and cookies, powered down, and done a reset. Nothing seems to help.Typing in additional text seems to get the job done. This seems to be a feature of the latest IOS update, I have never had the problem before the last update.
I use the box with the arrow just to the left of the URL block at the top of the page to send myself links to pages of interest. Adding the extra text seems like a pointless step, but it does work.

We have 2 iphone 5s sharing the same apple ID. When browsing Safari on one phone it automatically sends a link to that page to the other phone. How do we turn this off please?

It sounds that you are running the same iCloud account with two phones. I recommend you to create a different iCloud account and you should be all set.

I have another apple ID but I forgot the password and apple does not send the link to reset it to my email. What do I do to have it back? It is really important.
If you know the answers to your security question for the ID you can use that method to reset the password rather than email (by going to https://iforgot.apple.com/password/verify/appleid).
If you don't, you'll have to contact iTunes Store support for assistance: http://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html. They frequently deal with Apple ID issues. -
How do I send a link or page with Windows 7
In Vista in was able to send a link or page from the file button on top, now I do not have this option. I don't know where to find this option or how to do this?
There is an option to "Send Link..." in the File menu. Firefox does not have a built-in send page by email option.

I have used Firefox for some time and have enjoyed the bsend a link feature in the File drop dwon menu. Since installing Firefox 4 this feature no longer works. I click the option and nothing happens. In preferences and applications the mailt0 icon on the far left is not as distinct as it was and the option is set to googlemail which is correct. I have an Apple mac and also installed Firefox 4 and send a link works on the mac with no problem!

When I send a link to my iweb page it doesn't open
If I want to send a link of my iweb page to someone, the way I do it is firstly open the page online, copy the link from the browsers address and then from mail I goto "add hyperlink" paste the link in and then send, all looks ok, but when the other person tries to open, the link will not.
I sent to myself to test and found that the link address once sent this way from mail, is different than the original. Where the original address would be %20 it is now %2520. The number 25 is placed in front of 20 numerous times through out the link and so of course the site won't open.

torderI decided to edit my post and add some more info but I guess I took too long. So here's an edited version:
Idea 1 - the simple method: Forget the "add hyperlink" part. Just paste the address into your email message by hand. It comes out as a hyperlink (though it does not appear so when you are crafting the message) and does not create the problem you are having.
Idea 2 - the prettier method: Use "add hyperlink" but do some editing first. When you paste the hyperlink into the box you must replace each "%20" with a space. The link will be displayed in your email message as you would like it to appear - with spaces instead of %20's - but the underlying link will have the %20's. I can't guarantee it will come out pretty with every email program and every preference setting someone might use but any good program should get it right. -
My friend has a blackberry and sends links to youtube videos to me all the time, in text messages, that I can watch easily. I could not figure out how to send him links to youtube videos. The youtube app doesnt provide a URL I can copy and paste into the text message and going to youtube through web browser just defaults it back to the (URL-less) app.
I cant be the first person totally stumped by this.
Its either not possible or crazy simple and I just havent drank the apple kool-aid enough yet...to the right of the vol bar there is an icon which look like a box with an arror going out of if you click on that and choose mail link to this video you get what you want

Could not initialize the browser's security component Error message when sending a link
Using Ubuntu 9.10 64 bit. Firefox version is 3.6.3 and Thunderbird version is 2.0.0.24
When sending a link with Firefox I get an error message "Could not initialize the browser's security component...". Tried deleting the cert8.db and secmod.db. Noticed if Thunderbird is already open I don't get the error message. But if Thunderbird is closed then opens to send the link I get that error message. Seems the security certificates aren't being passed to Thunderbird when it is opening up.
