Sendmail doesn´t deliver to /var/mail/root

Hi all,
I don´t know how since severals days sendmail doesn´t deliver mails to root account. /var/mail/root file was missing and i created it with permissions .
-rw-rw---- 1 root mail 0 Sep 1 09:50 root.
Although i created the file no mails are received.

Although i created the file no mails are received.Sendmail will create the mbox file if it needs to. I'm not sure if it will use one if you create it ahead of time. Check for a dead.letter file or the sender's account to see if it has bounced back.
On the box itself you could try:
/usr/lib/sendmail -v root
test
don't forget the period on a line by itself to send the message. This will run sendmail in verbose mode and will hopefully shed some light on what is going on.

Procmail trouble migrating to Mavericks - everything delivered to /var/mail/ user

My old hardware died Thanksigving afternoon, so I hastily migrated to the new machine I'd already been setting up with Mavericks. One post-migration problem was that user mail was delivered into /var/mail/<username> instead of into Maildirs. mail.log said it was delivering to procmail, but that's not where mail showed up. Removing (renaming) each user's .forward and .procmailrc files fixed this at the cost of turning off procmail's automatic filing.
In the old setup, each user had a .forward file that said |/usr/bin/procmail, also a .procmailrc that started with
# This causes delivery in maildir format.
DEFAULT=$HOME/Maildir/
In each user's home directory, Maildir was a symlink to /var/spool/imap/dovecot/mail/<some long hashcode>. Back in 10.6, each user owned their mail directory and all its contents.
In Mavericks, the mail directories have moved to /Library/Server/Mail/Data/mail/<some long hashcode>. Those directories are completely owned by _dovecot. I repointed the symlinks, but wondered if the different ownership might be a problem.
One seeming bug I found was that line 45 of /Library/Server/Mail/Config/dovecot/conf.d/10-mail.conf says
mail_location = maildir:/Library/Server/Mail/Data/mail/%u
Since %u is <username> and not <some long hashcode>, I think that should say
mail_location = maildir:/Library/Server/Mail/Data/mail/users/%u
But changing it and restarting dovecot had no effect. Only disabling procmail made mail go where it should.
My bottom line question is, how can I get procmail working again?

Possibly I've answered my own question-and-a-half. My mail is being sieved. For the record:
Setting mail_debug=yes in /Library/Server/Mail/Config/dovecot/conf.d/10-logging.conf put some helpful notes into /Library/Logs/Mail/mail-debug.log. Searching for "sieve" in there revealed that dovecot was looking for per-user sieves as /Library/Server/Mail/Data/rules/<long-hash-code>/dovecot.sieve. That path was specified with %u in the dovecot config, so%u must really mean <long-hash-code>, not <username> as I thought. (That was the half-question.)
So apart from having to create those directories and populate them, sieve was already configured and running as a dovecot plugin.

Procmail not delivering to Cyrus instead to /var/mail

Hey guys,
I really need some help on this one.
Basically I have a postmaster user setup, which uses a .procmailrc file to dish emails out to the correct people. It used to work fine on my old 10.4 client system. But now using 10.4 Server I have ran into a problem.
Procmail manages to resend the emails to the correct people but all other emails are then moved to /var/mail/postmaster instead of going to the Postmasters inbox. Cyrus does not seem to use /var/mail/.
How do I tell Procmail how to leave the remaining messages in the postmasters inbox and not deliver to /var/mail/postmaster?
I don't need this for all system wide users, just this one account.
Does it make a difference if I tick "Deliver to /var/mail when POP & IMAP are disabled"?
My .procmailrc file is below:

Just an update...
I gave up with Procmail in the end.
After much reading I realised that the Sieve scripting is much more powerful and userfriendly (once you get it going). You can use Squirrelmail to add and edit rules, even vacation messages too!
I had a clean install of 10.4.7, using Open Directory authentication and had no hiccups.

Hello mac eXperts,
I get error "[SYS/PERM] Temporary drop /var/mail/.user1.pop not owned by user1". I'm trying to find temporary folder and .user1.pop file to delete it but I can't find it. Any suggestion?
I think to solve this error is deleting .user1.pop, but not sure. If someone could give me a hand I appreciate.

Let's go to some basics. How many accounts do you have, and how many of them of POP accounts? In the Finder, open Home/Library/Mail and check to see if there are the same number of POP account folders, as you have POP addresses? Is the name of the POP folder for the account that is not working, of the same form and structure, as the others?
Open the POP folder for this account, and report the files and folders at its root level? Next, open the INBOX.mbox folder in this POP account folder, and report the files and folders at its root level?
In all the names of the files related to this account's POP folder, are there any slashes (/)?

How can I find the serial number from CS4 for my mac? I remembered it being on the box, but now I can't find it, and they website I thought to have registered it to doesn't recognize the e-mail I would have used then I got it.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but the website recommend I ask here. I bought the CS4 when I bought my macbook pro in when I was in college. I remember there being 2 serial numbers, so I could install to one other computer. That macbook pro finally died, and now I have a new mac which I am trying to re-install the creative suite on, only I can't find the serial number. The two stickers on the back of the CS4 box (which i thought were the serial numbers) don't look like that they're asking for, and the website listed on the inside of the box for me to register to doesn't recognize my e-mail (which hasn't changed since buying CS4). Any idea where I could find the serial number?

I have tried deleting the account and it deletes all my contacts. I have verizon and even using back up assistant, it says the contacts are there but they aren't. The only way i can find a contact is if I start to type a name in and new text but once i sent the new text, the name disappears and it just shows the number. Siri nor the address book don't recognize any contacts at all.

I cant find any reciept in my email or in my husbands email. I am going to attempt to call and speak to someone who can help me because this was not my fault except trying to be normal and update my phone!

How to retrieve mail from /var/mail??

When I open the terminal window I see the message "You Have New Mail". Right before quitting terminal I also see a message saying "Held 2 messages in /var/mail/julian".
How can I access those e-mails? I don't find any options in the Mail application.

Type 'mail' into the Terminal window without the quote marks to get your mail. More information on this command is available here.

Account doesn't work on Mac Mail but does on iPhone

I have a IMAP email account with my company that works on my iPhone and in Entourage but doesn't work in Mac Mail. I have tried to copy the settings and even did a full erase and reinstall of Leopard and no one has an idea why it won't work, the hosting company or Pro Care. Any idea out there?

My 4s - 'Died' today - screen black, wont turn on/off. Battery is full. Tried restore advice - nothing. When I call it, 4s does nothing but phone I'm calling it from rings doesn't go to v/mail. Can't locate on 'find iphone' or itunes Plse HELP!

Phone blank, no signs of life! It's fully charged, I haven't dropped or split anything over it. I cant turn it on/off anything! Tried all the restore advice on 'support' - nothing. Unread email folder doesn't exist on iPhone mail application?

Hi everyone,
I just recently switched over to an iPhone 4 after 6 years with a Blackberry. I have many apple products and was finally able to switch at work. Everything is great except that the way you have to find unread email is very cumbersome. On the BB, all unread mail appeared in the default mail view. On the iPhone, I have to go into the folder view to find emails that I have ruled into other folders on my Microsoft Exchange account which is very cumbersome.
Also, I hear a new email alert but the mail icon doesn't update the unread mail count unless that email comes to my inbox folder. Since I work in IT at my organization and receive many emails, I have them ruled on exchange to many different folders. I have all of those folders pushed to the iPhone but I have to manually look in each folder for the unread mail count next to the folder.
So I guess I'm saying that this is not efficient enough mail for me. Can you do setup an unread mail folder that shows all unread mail regardless of what folder it really is in on the iPhone mail program somehow? If not, can this be submitted as an enhancement as it makes email use very cumbersome. I have found tons of posts about this through google searches. I thought I would make a post to see if we are all missing something simple. If there is a simple setup that I can configure to fix this, please let me know!

MVKE is the text which is sales org specific , right ?
So i dont think you will have any text with the material name.
it should be material concatenated with Sales org and distribution channel atleast.
go to se11 and see the table contents for STXH where object = MVKE...
try concatenate p_matnr p_vkorg p_vtweg into P_matnr.
and do selection for this.

IOS 6 Bug? VIP feature doesn't work w/ ActiveSync mail

I noticed that the new VIP feature doesn't work against ActiveSync mail. The feature works as advertised with my Hotmail account, however.
I am able to select VIP users from within my AS account but their emails are not being filtered into the VIP folder. I do get an audio alert however when their emails come in.
is this by design or is it a bug?

I use Active sync on Exchange 2007.
I have 1 user, my boss, currently set to VIP and it is working ok.

IMessage doesn't deliver from my iPhone 4s to an iPod who it has delivered to before?

Sometimes when I try to send iMessages from my iPhone 4s to my friend's iPod (who has an email as his iMessage), it doesn't deliver. When it does, it says Delivered. However, he has gotten them before, so randomly it will stop working. I tried resetting network settings and resetting my phone, still doesn't work. Help!

I added a group to Address Book, but it doesn't show up in Mail's addresses. Why? In the past, any groups I added to Address Book or changes I made in Address Book showed up in Mail's addresses, but not this time.

Do you have any videos/movies in the video app?
In iTunes if you right click on the video and select Get Info and go to the Option tap what Media Type is shown?
