Senior moment? I can't find the Eject button on the menu bar preference

Whether through temporary blindness or by virtue of a senior moment, I can't find where the preference to show or hide the Eject button on the menu bar is located.  I'm trying to hide it, as it had always been.
Any help will be most appreciated.

If you don't want it there then CMD drag it down, if you ever want it back...
On your main hard drive, dig down into System > Library > CoreServices > Menu Extras. Inside that window, double-click on the icon called Eject.menu.

I'm trying to sync my ipad over wifi, with my MAC, I have the updated software on my MAC, the ipad is up to dat 6.1.2.  I can follow all of the steps, but I can't find a SUMMARY button on the toolbar, nor do I receive the option to sync.  What am I doing wrong or what should I look for?  Thank You

To sync your iPad over Wifi:
First ensure you're running iTunes 11.0.2. And you already have your iPad up to date, good.
Plug your iPad into the Mac via USB. Click your iPad in the top toolbar (under the search bar). Click the Summary tab if it isn't already selected. Check the box to "Sync with this iPad over Wi-Fi" (you may have to scroll down to see it). And now click the Apply button at the bottom right.
You should be able to unplug your iPad from the Mac and it should still remain in iTunes. (If not, try Quitting and relaunching iTunes and waiting, restarting iPad, etc).
To initiate a sync over Wifi, click your iPad in the toolbar in iTunes then click Sync. Or on your iPad, go to Settings > General > iTunes Wifi Sync and tap "Sync Now."
If this didn't solve your problem, please let me know with a more detailed explanation of what you're experiencing so I can try to help you get up and syncing wirelessly!

  • My iPad is connected to my laptop. Importing photos into iPhoto. Have imported them. Now I can't find the "eject" button in the left margin or the eject link in file. Should I just disconnect the iPad from the laptop?

Trying to transfer photos from my ipad to my laptop.  iphoto imported them.  Now I want to disconnect my ipad from the laptop and cannot find an "eject" button or link. Do I just disconnect it?  Don't want to lose photos in the process.

Shut both device down before you  disconnect as a precaution.

  • TS1393 I cannot eject my iPod using either itunes or the eject button on bottom tool bar beacuse it says something is in use by another application or "The device 'generic volume' cannot be stopped because  a program is still accessing it" Synced new iPad

How can I eject my ipod when neither itunes not the "safe to eject" button will allow it.  Itunes says "...cannot be ejected because it contains files that are in use by another application."  The safe to eject button says "The device 'generic volume' cannot be stopped because a program is still accessing it."  The has never happened before.  The only thing new is that I added an iPad yesterday.  Thanks.

Go to your computer's System Tray and try ejecting.  If you can't eject, there is an application that is trying to access your iPod.
Go to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx and download ProcessExplorer.
Go to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555665 and follow the instructions under Resolution.
Note that this is a good, general process any time you can't access any file.
In my case an update to RealPlayer installed a program called RecordingManager that was accessing my iPod.

  • Where can I find Instruction on Creating a Spry Menu Bar (CS 4)

As a newbie to DW CS4 (Former user of GoLive) I get the idea that the Spry Menu Bar should be used; I can build the basic bar but have no success in changing font colors, background colors, Role Over, etc. Is there a tutorial that explains this process or am I better off using the DW navigation bar?

    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/dreamweaver/articles/spryte_menu.html
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/articles/menu_bar/index.html
And you could check the help function in DW and search for Spry

  • Can you use images as buttons in spry menu bars

I am trying to build a site with customized buttons. Each button has the same background, but I want the buttons to be images
because the client likes the font. Is there any way to make each individual button an image using the spry feature in CS3. It's easy
to do this in Dreamweaver 8, but I cannot figure out how to do it in CS3.
    Thank you for your  help.

I personally have not used the spry menus for anything yet but in researching other topics i did find:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/menubar/MenuBarSample.html
Answer will most likely lie in the CSS class you set for your spry states. CSS from above URL:
    #MenuBar3 a.MenuBarItemHover, #MenuBar3 a.MenuBarItemSubmenuHover, #MenuBar3 a.MenuBarSubmenuVisible {
         background-image: url(images/itemgradient-hover.gif);
         background-repeat: repeat-x;
The other option is to look back at the code generated by DW8 (that you mentioned worked) and apply the same code technique to your current project.

Works for me every time without failure.
It's not a matter of failure, it's the idea of training people to associate the Trash with unmounting a volume. The Trash is a mechanism for the permanent deletion of your data, and designed to appear as such. Apple haters used to laugh at this..."Eject by dragging to the Trash? And you say the Mac is intuitive? Ha ha ha..." And they were right. It's better to teach ways that actually make more sense.
The great thing about all the newer ways is that they are easily discoverable, you don't have to remember or figure out that you have to virtually trash your disk. A new user would naturally expect to find an Eject command or button, and there they are in plain sight.

I always find a ton of mounted installers left behind by users who install stuff on their systems.  I don't understand why Apple cannot make an automated process to unmount the installer once it's done.  Just seems stupid to me I guess.  I've seen that mounted installer confuse people into clicking on it each and every time they want to start the app because they don't understand that once it's installed, that installer should be ejected because they're done with it.
I agree about the installer volume behavior...and Apple made it worse in Mountain Lion by putting the volumes on the bottom of the Finder sidebar, which is often out of view. Incidentally, drag-to-trash does not seem to work with volumes in the sidebar, but the other Eject methods do.
The "installer problem" is another reason I love the other methods much more than dragging to the trash. To eject multiple volumes by selecting them and pressing Command-E is much faster than the time taken to gather them up with the mouse and drag all of them to a specific spatial target.

    Hi,
It's the hardware thing, a program won't fix it. Now you can buy an external ODD such as:

The following previous discussion may help: Re: How do I eject a photo card from the computer when I'm finished uploading photos?

  • Where has the eject button gone??!!

After upgrade 8 the eject button at the bottom right of itunes has been replaced with some stupid sidebar button!
I used the eject button a lot.

I used it mostly for closing the drawer on my external drive.
I cant do this with the shortcuts.
After I pressed burn I pressed eject with the mouse to close the drive.
Now I have to use my button on the drive.
    It just frustrating.
    Thanks anyway.

  • Where in itunes can I find the eject button for my new ipod nano?

Where in itunes can I find the eject button for my new ipod nano?

When in iTunes on the top R it should say your name and ipod and then there is a triangle pointing up with one or two lines underneath.  Just click on that and then it's ok to disconnect.

  • On my desktop, how do I eject a cd if i can't find an eject command or symbol?

I am a new itunes user and can use your help.  I'm sure it is a simple solution.  Thank you for any help in finding a way to eject a cd when there is no eject symbol showing in the usual place.
    Grateful,
    Ejecthelp

on your keyboard there should be a button that looks like a triangle sitting on a line, that is the eject button. If you hold that down, the cd should come out, but if it doesn't then something is wrong.
